The longer Nissan doesn’t change the engine the more likely I am to buy one.
I’m sure they know that. Everyone else went with a turbo 4, shooting themselves in the foot. Americans hate that.
And the longer you don’t buy one, the more likely that you still don’t have one.
@@JohnZornAscendedwhat do you mean by shooting themselves in the foot?
@@ALMX5DPlosing the NeverTurbo crowd by discontinuing the N\A instead of offering both engines
To be fair, I’m pretty sure the EPA forced their hands and it was not their choice.
@@Cloud30000 the “neverturbo” crowd is likely very small (however loud and vocal they may be).
6ft bed with Pro-4x is huge. That is what I’ve been waiting for
Agree, that is the biggest thing I hear here.
Me too, that orange is sweet but this trick is gonna look killer in white or silver with that new grille. New infotainment looks promising, kept all the tactile bits 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Are you going to buy one now?
Same here, I own an older Frontier with a crew cab and 6ft bed and the Pro4X for the new generation looked very appealing but was disappointed it didn't have a 6ft bed so I didn't get one, but I might now
Same here.
No turbo?! Just a normally aspirated V6? Goodbye Toyota and hello Nissan!
Turbo 4 bangers are fine if you sell it before it hits 100K miles and or use it as a mall queen but if you haul or lift it and buy larger tires for it its gonna wear out even faster.
umm there is NOTHING wrong with the Turbo in Toyota, TROLL
Accent on the grill, is the 3 vents from the early years of the d21.
@user-do9ir8lv2m Time will tell. Simple reliability wins every time. No replacement for displacement.
@@lancelotlink3907 I love "mall queen".
They forgot to mention that it will also have a telescoping wheel. Nathan previously gave the truck a lot of criticism for not having that feature
Agreed. This was my hangup on the last gen...too uncomfortable
I really don't get the tilt or telescoping wheel thing. These features did not come about in most cars till very recently and many still do not have it. Both my vehicles have it an the amount of change possible is insignificant.
@@clarkkent9080 For me, it's because older Japanese vehicles originally were designed for shorter people. When they made the seats slide further back to accommodate gorillas like me, , the steering wheel was left still too far forward.
A lot of Japanese vehicles are this way -- where the steering wheel is above my knees requiring my arms to be extended straight out.
Very uncomfortable without a telescoping column to bring the wheel back within reach.
@@NukePooch1 I have only tried a few tilt/telescoping wheels in Japanese vehicles but the ones that I have tried have very little range and it seems worthless. But then again, I am probably considered to be an average American. People are getting taller like my 6' 4" nephew and that must present problems.
3 vents on the hood are a major throwback to the hardbody's, and that tailgate looks like it pays tribute to the outgoing Titan
I like that Nissan plays on its heritage, like the new Z. My Hardbody is almost 40 yrs old, with those 3 slots. So cool.
Now for a real Pathfinder with triangle windows, or X Terra with raised roof.
It's funny how its naturally aspirated V6 is now the star of the show, compared to those new turbocharged trucks being recalled and having reliability issues. They also kept a lot of physical switches on the inside. Always loved the Tacoma more, but now the Frontier is my favorite midsize truck. Now it's time to bring back the Xterra on this platform.
Looks good. Nissan is unjustly ignored. I'd take a Frontier over the others any day.
Then why don't they sell🤔
@atg1338 because they aren't gimmicky. I drive a 24 Titan. I think it's about the most reliable full size truck out there. But it's no frills. Very much the same with the Frontier. Truck buyers have become very shallow. They want the (mostly useless) gadgets and cladding.
@@jonzaremba Or maybe we want a nice truck to drive and not some old technology. I always buy fully loaded trucks for my work truck and my weekend truck.
I feel like it may not be purely unjust. Nissan is always taking mis-steps. Killed off the X-Terra right before the 4x4 Renaissance that’s been going on since like 2017. The half hearted poorly executed TITAN XD showed that Nissan wasn’t sure what it was going for in the truck world. The new frontier is good, but it’s rolling on a 20+ year old chassis carried over from the last generation. They had an amazing opportunity to build it on the Navara chassis that is built, globally, with a five link rear end. The Navara is such a great truck that Mercedes decided to build it X class on that chassis. I want Nissan to do well! But they just don’t seem to have a solid brand identity.
@@atg1338 ”maybe we want a nice truck to drive and not some old technology”
For many, old technology is what makes a truck nice to them. Fancy technology and over-complicated engines/drivetrains aren’t saving anyone money when they face the service department.
6 foot bed is the big news. I currently have a 6 foot Tacoma and would not consider the Pro4x because it only came in the short box, now I would consider it.
I’m a toyota enthusiast, 2006 Tacoma for 11 years and my 2017 tundra going on 8 years soon. I’m happy to see a non turbo truck model this frontier just might end up being the most reliable of new trucks keep a good recipe and just update. A 3.8 v6 with a 9 speed auto sounds great! Screw the damn turbos!!! Who gives a Shiite
My friends have Frontiers with 300k plus tires oil brake pads still going no rust
lol what?
A long bed Pro 4X is exactly what I've been waiting for
They make a long bed in Pro 4X?
@@FireMic yes for 2025
I just purchased one. Absolutely a amazing truck. Didn't expect the great fuel mileage.
This was my first long drive but over 200 miles (elevation decrease of 1,000 ft) at 65 mpg, my 2024 Pro-X returned 30.3 mpg. The same exact trip in my Mazda CX-5 NA 4 banger gets 33 mpg.
Nissan is knocking it outta the park with the Frontier.
This is the Frontier we have all been waiting for!
Great midsize truck, and I had the '22 pro4x for almost 3 years and just traded in last month with 62k miles on it. I had "ZERO" issue with it . used to tow a 22' RV using bluetooth break controller. All I can tell you I miss it !
What did you trade it in for?
@@Blue-moon12tundra
@@omeramro2587what made you choose a Tundra with the engine being on recall and not a Titan?
@@danialca597it was a tough call , the titan was my first choice, unfortunately nissan did not have good offers and Nissan lacks the marketing strategy with crappy promotions for the outgoing truck, 65k pro4x if you choose to finance. Toyota was a lot less with great finance offer , also the issues with the tundra is with the 22, and 23 models only , the 24 is just fine at least for now . Oh forgot to mention the Sierra elevation was my second option ..
Still have my 22 pro4x and have ZERO issues, currently 52K miles.
Everything looks great except that center frontier lettering in the dash
I would have to figure a way to black it out and then it would look really good.
@@louisstennes3yeah make a carbon fiber cover. You’d make a lot of money I’m sure.
Yeah I didn't like it as well :/ very childish looking
Agreed. Hate it. Stupid looking.
yea...that's comin off lol
Great move making the 6 ft bed available on a pro 4X. I'm sure they'll still be few and far between. The wheels look Raptor esque😮😊.
A 6 foot bed would be nice but my 5ft bed barely fits in the garage. So plan on keeping the 6 footer outside.
@@clarkkent9080 I don't think my motorcycles would fit in there and close the tailgate anyway so my short bedtime, probably just as good
@@justinstiff5641 I don't know what the standard is for a garage but mine is quite large. My Frontier Pro-X 5' bed fits but if I park it with either end ~ 6" from the rear of the garage or the garage door, I can still walk around the other end.
I could fit a Frontier with a 6' bed in the garage but to get out/in, I would have to leave the garage door open and it would be difficult to park correctly.
I have a tilt utility trailer to haul my XUV, lumber, motorcycle etc.. I have found that it is the best at loading or unloading any of those items.
I’ve been saying this since day one but I drive a pure v8 Titan with zero issues and I love my truck
This is outstanding for its refresh for the Frontier, and the screen is perfect and knobs are more durability too. Like it.
The best mid size truck right now ❤
Those wheels remind me of the Pontiac Firebird I had a long time ago.
Roman is high......calm down bro😂
😂😂😂
How could you ever tell? He is like this most of the time. Unless he is ranting. lol
Colorado 😂
TFL is not "compensated" by Nissan like they are from Toyota. They are not as enamored with Nissan as Toyota....you get what you pay for.
I like the mail slots on the front like the old harbodies.
I think staying with the V6 is good! Frontier, Ridgeline, and oh-baby the Ranger-Raptor!
In fall you should be able to get the 2.7 v6 in the XLT ranger as well. I am very tempted by it.
Agreed. I prefer naturally aspirated V6's over a turbo 4 cylinder. The gas mileage is about the same and better on the V6 hauling a load.
Ranger raptor is still a twin turbo good luck with that lol
@@thedude828-ed2nn You might be right but it is a hell of mid-size truck.
The Ridgeline and GM twins have cylinder deactivation. So… 3 cylinders for Honda and 2 cylinders for GM. Ford.. well it’s a turbo made by ford so…
3:52 the number 1 reason I want this truck is because it doesn’t have a turbo. Thank god
Who wouldn’t want a turbo 3.8?
Why are people so down on turbo 4 cylinders? They tow more, and get better fuel efficiency (probably not much difference when towing though) when the driver isn’t too hard on it. Don’t get me wrong, I really do like this truck, and am considering it for my tow vehicle in retirement. I plan on towing about 5k lbs long distances. The Ranger, and Colorado are on the radar as well.
@@Bum_Hip Because they only make the high horsepower and torque they make, and their ability to tow a lot, is entirely reliant on working that turbo hard. Turbos are very expensive to replace and an engine with a hard-working turbo is going to be more prone to issues like premature issues such as oil consumption and premature head gasket failure.
The N\A engines are known factors, while the turbo is not. In the past, turbos have had issues with longevity, especially new designs. While the new turbo-4’s could last 15 years, we just don’t know yet so it’s a gamble. With the N\A V6, you can see many of them after 15 years so you know what to expect.
@@palebeachbumsounds like a lot of conjecture tbh. Turbo on my 2.0 inline 4 is like $750 and their are designed to be used. Taking care of any engine with regular and quality oil changes and it’ll last a good while. Our 4 cylinder Ecoboost isn’t in a truck but it gets run hard on occasion and is a still perfect after nearly 10 years and 90k miles.
Coming from a Toyota my 23’ frontier has been problem free for the last year and a half. Has all the tech you need and a solid power train. I just wish they’d make the pro4x trim more off road competitive.
What’s with big Frontier label on infotainment? Does Nissan think customers don’t know what truck they purchased ?
Looks totally gaudy to have that orange Frontier emblem in your face located below the infotainment system.
I agree! 🤔
Sooo much better than the Tacoma.
Okay calm down a little too excited
Sales don't show it.😮
I actually liked the looks of this one but the Tacoma just felt better to me when I did test drive… but it was very close and kind of hard to choose between the 2
Not gonna take sales away from the Tacoma still better than Frontier
How's that?
Towing 8k with a mid-size is like towing 12k with a 1/2 ton; it can do it, but neither you nor the truck will like it and doing it regularly will lead to issues pretty quickly.
I’ve seen a Honda Pilot with 8k, lol. Going up a hill.
@@JohnZornAscendeddid you see it again after that? What was it towing to make you believe the trailer was 8000lbs?
I tow 6k all the time with my Colorado. No problem at all.
I get 24 mpg on the highway and 21.5 around town with mine. ( not broken in yet). Lots of power. Pretty impressive.
This was my first long drive but over 200 miles (elevation decrease of 1,000 ft) at 65 mpg, my 2024 Pro-X (2wd) returned 30.3 mpg. The same exact trip in my Mazda CX-5 NA 4 banger gets 33 mpg.
Is yours 4wd?
@@markharrison7922 No. PRO X.
I just bought a 24 Frontier Pro4X. I guess I'll need to wait a few years to get a new one. I do love this truck and my turbo free V-6.
I'm glad that it still offers a V6! Interior updated a little, but I'm also glad it still got an actual gear lever, analog gauges, and physical buttons and knobs for climate controls, adjusting the volume and changing radio stations, and the 4WD system and for the locking differential! That's how you update a vehicle!! Just change the exterior styling a little and the screen and that's it!!
Damn, take my $$! I liked the retro Hard Body Edition they brought out last year a lot, but this is not bad either. Retro colors and vibes with modern tech. Hell yah! And the V6 beats the shit out of the Tacomas 4 bangers.
I don’t know why they talk about the torque so much or the towing capacity. I don’t tow and the torque is plenty. If somebody wants to tow heavy loads they’re not going to buy midsize truck…they’ll get full size. I also don’t understand making fun of the NA 6cyl just because everybody is pushing 4cyl turbos as if that was the best thing under the sun. Did ever occur to these two guys that if the manufacturer must add turbo it means the engine itself is simply too weak for the vehicle? If you take away the turbo how would the 4cyl perform?…terrible to say the least. So sarcastic remarks that nissan doesn’t have money for turbos is just dumb. As a true and unbiased evaluator, these guys should dig deeper and maybe they would realize that nissan is actually addressing needs of its customers(simplicity and longevity) instead of getting the most amount of money from people for mediocre product. Thats why other manufacturers are adding turbos everywhere because the 4 cyls are too weak for these mid range truck. But these two guys will not address that topic because they’re too short sided and focusing on towing capacity and torque. One owns a bronco and the other one colorado. So of course they are bias and will make fun of everything else. Pathetic.
Fudgeee... I just bought my 2024 pro4x last month too 😂😂
Frontier FOMO. Love my '23 but these are some nice upgrades.
Congrats on your purchase. I actually think the 2024 is more tastefully designed. And it's still the best-looking mid-size truck out there. Perfect balance of retro and modern.
@@Brickbattery You should be thankful that you do not have start/stop and these few minor changes are gonna cost at least $5k more not counting the discounts they are now giving on 2024 models.
This is the only new midsize truck that isn’t trash
I'm looking forward to buying one of these. Used. In three years when I've got the cash 🥴
You got a lot of these Frontiers coming off lease from 2022 to 2023 so you might be able to find a good deal.
@@jamesm568 Absolutely, believe me I've been eyeing them. Just bought a CX-5 as a family car so I'll have to wait a little bit for a new truck for myself. I'll be waiting for the 2025s to get off lease in 2028 😎
I really enjoy my 2022 Frontier S 4x4. Great standard features and just an honest truck.
Why is Roman always so negative toward Nissan and Honda Ridgeline? Chill, dude.
He comes off as a Toyota fan boy
Which is funny cuz he broke his pretty early.
@@OG_RUINER haha that’s true. Maybe he’s bitter because after it broke, they had to make all those videos explaining that it’s normal to fail, and then they had to sell it in less than a year.
I like him but DEFINITELY agree. If the Tacoma had these slight upgrades too he’d probably think it was the greatest thing on earth. Love their videos though.
Bring the xterra backkkkkkk! Loll

I like the throwback detail of the three vents above the grill from the 90's Nissans
It's about heritage and even if they're not functional on all Nissans, I like that Nissan has that "never forget where we came from" approach
Good Monday to all of you
Thank you. Same to you.
The Nissan Frontier is a home run. Everything you need, nothing you don't.
The esthetic changes are nice but I'm rather disapointed that they didn't add 4 wheel auto and front/rear locker capability fir the pro-4x model 😢.
ARB makes a front locker for the frontier. Do it yourself
SWN230GO search this.. It's a switch that fits the factory frontier location
That would've cost money which Nissan does not have
Pro4x has a rear locker, just needs a front lsd
@@billzkustomz most do it yourself stuff makes the warranty on your new vehicle voided. To top it off, for the price I'm paying and for Nissan to actually compete their top trim vurses other manufacturers top trims they need to improve their drive train. Please set aside that excusable mentality for car manufacturers deceiving comsumers. You buy a brand new car to get the latest updates not to increase your own insurance premium by adding stuff yourself ontop of your own monthly payments from financing a new vehicle when the vehicle is promoted to compete with the rest.
What Nissan just did was simply put make up on a pig...it's still a pig. Their 4x4 system is showing its age and is lacking efficiency compared to other vehicles, adding front lockers would help mitigate that like a crutch for the compagny rather then go through a whole new computer engineering investment to update their 4x4 AI intelligence.
In quebec the Zr2 and the Nissan Pro4X are in the same price range. It's nonsense to pay more to add shit when some1 else does it for you straight from factory, doesn't void my warranty and doesn't increase my insurance payments all that in similar brand-new price range margin.
Love my new 24 SL. These upgrades are fine but don’t make me wish I waited for a 25 one bit.

Let’s all buy this thing and keep the na v6 alive!
Z1 may have their supercharger out for the Frontier soon. So the "more torque" thing may be a no nevermind
So you have to super charge a vehicle to give it more torque?

I like the new center, but I would rather they put the switches and buttons where the frontier badge is. Hopefully they can also bring down the price of that Forsberg performance pack too
This is fantastic. Love the make over to the Gen 3. Boo to turbos, natural V6 is where it’s at.
Make a mild hybrid. With a pancake motor. Extra 20-25 hp and extra +50 ft-lbs with a generator mode. (YES it would be a pricey option) or make the Nismo version with the V8 and long arm suspension. It's definitely an underrated truck.
No it's not ....
Does the steering wheel finally telescope? That Frontier under the screen has got to go. Overall nice little upgrades and keeping it old school.
Yes it does. Would recommend checking out the articles from mortor authority or car and driver. Telescoping steering wheel are now standard across the line up.
This Frontier will likely be the most reliable mid-sized truck for long term ownership (100k+). The last man standing for the affordable NA crowd (body on frame trucks).
Since they axed the titan, I’m sure they bought more time on their CAFE score. But you know a turbo 4 is coming for the frontier in the near future. The armada is already slated to get the turbo v6.
I don't think they're going turbo well idk maybe they will it, they been saying full electric in the future
6' bed is a game changer! How rare will this oprion be?
Rare as a hens tooth.
You can find them pretty easily in the Midwest.
Pro4x?
Good flush screen.
They should throw the 5.6 in the Frontier! I bet they would be best in class...
I own a Titan and love Nissan trucks. If there is a downside with all new models and a new year is that they all raise prices. I am guessing that the Pro 4X loaded up is now above 50 grand, then you have to ask yourself how close are you to a mid level full size truck or say a 1-2 year full size well equpped truck with low mileage. That is the dilemma.
The thing is Nissan does so much discounts a 24 frontier pro4x is selling right now for 44k in my Nissan dealership. Nissan is by far the best discounted car manufacturer in the world

Did they improve the quality on the backup and 360 cam?
I hope the steering wheel telescopes. Its position was my biggest complaint when I test drove the recent version of the Frontier.
It does for the 2025. Tilts and telescopes
My biggest complaint as well. Supposed to be across the lineup.
I just traded my 22 tacoma trd offroad for a 24 loaded frontier pro 4x. The Frontier rides way better and the transmission isn't always hunting for gears like the taco!!!! V6 everyday over turbo IMO.
The only changes I’d make to my 2023 SV long wheelbase/long bed are LED headlights like the Pro4X, telescopic steering wheel, better screen resolution/camera, power sliding rear window, better turning radius, a reprogram of the average mpg computer which is always higher by 2 mpg, and a little better tuning of the 9spd auto.
Otherwise it’s great the way it is. It’s comfortable, has easy to use switch gear, gets on average 20 mpg, The SV LWB has to be the best value in a midsize truck market.
I think pricing is what helped the frontier. It’s the most affordable truck compared to others so this refresh shouldn’t jump the price because if it costs the same as the comp then it will not fair well. V6 or not
The best midsize truck just got better!
Tacoma is the best midsize truck not the Frontier 🤦🏻♂️
@@jimmypham2487all depends on perspective.
I like most of that wheel, except that the “PRO” branding on the rim covers some slots and makes it asymmetrical which I’m not a fan of in wheels. I’m not even sure how they balance it so every tire doesn’t need a bunch of extra weights to make up for the rim imbalance.
I'd guess the way they're cast during manufacturing takes that into account.
Hate auto stop/start...they need to up their game on pro4x and make changes for offroading where it really matters...
Screen is nice but the black border does cut down on the size of the actual display. Not a deal breaker but they definitely held back there. The word frontier infront of it...ehh would rather have that on the passenger side and not in your main line of sight when adjusting controls. Directly under comes across as tacky and a redudant marketing tactic.
If nissan added a 4auto feature in their drive train, it would be a perfect truck.
This is the MAIN reason I chose a used V6 Colorado over a brand new Frontier. The 4WD auto system works beautifully in the 'Rado. Nissan needs something similar in the Frontier for sure.
@JDONUMBER7 have always been interested in the colorado. How's there reliability?
@Joe-eg7ml I've owned my loaded 2018 Z71 CC 4WD for almost 2 years with zero issues. Love the 3.6 V6, and as I mentioned, the 4WD auto setting in rain & light snow has been a game changer. I wouldn't buy another truck without this feature.
Funny, I was just watching the video and texting a group chat that I'm in saying the same thing. My V8 R51 Pathfinder has it and love it.
It could benefit from a better turning radius as well.
If Nissan keeps its price lower with the new updated look possibly could get much higher sales numbers
it looks like they improved the camera quality it didn’t appear as fuzzy as the current gen. BUT did they or wil they have ventilated seats and ac vents for the rear ? a electronic powered back window? i hope they do.
I love my 2022. Not a single issue.
Quiet, powerful, well-assembled.
I'M BUYING ONE BABY!
I love these trucks! Very simple and tactile new additions. There’s a reason why I bought a ‘22 SV and a ‘19 SL. Still hoping for a factory optioned trailer brake controller in a factory tow package.
Going to be my new truck. Thank you TFL
I said bye to Jeep and Toyota and now decided to go Frontier.
At least one out there actually listens to customers and doesn't (crossing fingers it stays the same) go the greedy way.
I like that they have kept the old school dependability with the Frontier. But I feel as an overall brand Nissan is in trouble. And they really should offer a new Xterra based on this platform!
The "vent openings " at the front of the hood is a retro detail from the Hardbody truck.
Minor upgrades. Easily the best bang for the buck in the segment, and even more-so if leasing.
Z1 Off Road is coming out with some awesome stuff for this truck, including a super charger.
