nice video been following as I do rebuild - e clip on accelerator pump did not go on as easy for me. then I just took set screw holding linkage rod in place put pump on and e clip outside of bowl easy peasy. thanks for posting
Rebuilinf mine. Not getting gas out of the bowl into carb. Should accelerator pump be tight or loose when pumping. The one i got is loose and old one is hanging up halfway
If you’re not getting gas out of the bowl to the plunger your float might need adjusting. Might need to be sitting slightly higher to allow gas to fill into accelerator pump chamber.
I just did a rebuild on my 3.0 carb but the gaskets are incorrect. I have the tag with the numbers but the local auto parts store could not locate the correct kit. Who are you getting the Mercruiser car kits from. I'm one main gasket away from putting it back together. The main two body halves!!
Great vid! Question, How do I know if i have the long or short linkage? I'm buying a boat that had the carburetor removed so i dont which one to order. it's a 2005 Searay 175. Thanks
Hi very thankful for your video, I have a 2011 Bayliner 175 with the 3.0 Eng that I have not used in 2 years. I truly be I’ve that gas has clogged in the carb line. Is there any chance to open the line and get rid of the clogged without opening the whole carburetor?
@@jasonthomas1817 there’s only a “base” setting for the idle mixture screw. Typically I set at 1-1/2 turns out till it’s running and warmed up then I’ll adjust out till it stumbles, then back in till it wants to die then I’ll leave it set half way between those 2 points.

Is there a check ball somewhere in the accelerator pump?
Yes there is a spring and check ball located in the bottom half of the carburetor, there’s a small retainer holding it in.

I’m up just a little north of Augusta
Do you have the dimensions for the gas level
I do not, the rebuild kits have the specifications depending on the exact model and carburetor.
