Call me crazy but these guys better reunite in 2018 for the 10th anniversary of the record that pretty much defines post-hardcore... at least for one show.
+CristianKirk I'm not commenting to start a flame war or anything, but that album is far from the definition of post-hardcore. I loved the album but it was generic metalcore at best.
Hmm, yeah, maybe. I don't want to start a war either :P but why do you consider metalcore? I thought that type of screaming, the guitar panic chords, the use of synths and the electronic breakdowns were more post-hardcore than metalcore.
The synth and electronic breakdowns were definitely newer for the genre when they were doing it but that's really what metalcore had partly become before they were around. Don't get me wrong, there are still metalcore bands that don't have those things but I guess it's just another subgenre of a subgenre. To get a really good idea of post-hardcore, look at bands like Underoath, Finch, From First to Last (mainly their first album imo), or Poison the Well. Letlive. from what I've heard seems to be the closest thing out now, to what post-hardcore used to be.
What? Didn't I already debate about it with somebody else? You're a little late :P Metalcore, hardcore, whatever... My idea remains the same, they should do at least one reunion show and play the album.
