I never seen anybody use a valve spring compressor like that. I use the handle to compress the spring. JS
Like your videos.
I like it when a plan comes together like that!!!!!!awesome job guys!!!!!!
Love to see a video on how you guys do they remote tune when doing a new cam. The tuning part is what is holding me back from doing a cam upgrade to my power wagon
Great video John. Very informative. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Awesome video. I really appreciate it. These videos is what makes UA-cam great.
What's going on good buddy?! I was sure we were gonna have to send out an APB on you and Steve after not hearing anything for a few days?!? 🤣🤪😂 Super nice and clean work, definitely makes it easy for anyone doing this install! Stay boosted brother!! 💪🔥💪
It’s nice seeing someone else say good buddy, good buddy!
Great video! Car sounds pretty throaty, may need some additional dialing in for that bigass cam!
Now, go drive it like ya stole it!
Thanks for the cool video content, it rocks!
Wow great informative detailed video John ! You guys did a great job An that intake is awsome looking on there 👍it sounds good too 🏆does steve have his own UA-cam channel I couldn’t catch what u mentioned near end of video about that ? If so what is it an I will go check it out !! Thanks bro 👍
I’m hoping Holley is going to give you one of those intakes for your 5.7 motor!!????? That would make it really awesome 😎!!!!!
Welcome back! Holy cow few days away almost thought you fell off the planet 😂....
Freaking awesome guy's 👍👍👍
I just subscribed to your channel. I have a 21 Challenger Scat Pack!!
Nice on continuing on other projects. Moparlove
Yes sir!!
I thought I hear more chop, but good job on the install.
Thing looks sick!
Tip my dad showed me for the back of the cam shaft is put a wrench on that bolt and crank on it and push. Mine slid right in at the end.
Suggestion when doing torque to yield (which I'm not a fan of), mark it with a paint pen to make sure your as close to 90.
Looks good yall did a good job team work makes the dream work 💪🏽😎 #BSTEDMTRSPRTS #100ksoon
Yes sirrrrrr
This is sick!
Why didnt you all change the valve stem seals at the same time as replacing the springs?
Hackers that's why! I just did that job and I talked the customer into better springs and stem seals! DO IT RIGHT OR DONT DO IT AT ALL! these guys are clowns!
@@lgonzalez1154 Lol
@@lgonzalez1154 You dont need to change valve stems seals unless they are damaged
Awesome J《☆》Nice job 1st HEMI Cam swap◇¿.🍗😎🎱☮🔊🖖👍
I am looking to get that kit for my charger and was wondering if the washers for the springs came with it or if you had to get those somewhere. If so what size what needed?
You gotta love the Cam phaser set ups 🧐😳😳😳
With the bigger camshaft it should drop down on his E.T. some. I'm thinking from a 13.1 to a 12.6 with a really good tune etc..You said without a tune 😳
🤔🚙💨💪🌮👊
Yeah should be interesting to see what it runs once the tune gets dialed in!
@@BoostedMotorsports look forward to seeing it improve... I just found out at the MOPARTY event that they actually make a 1320 scat pack version from the factory and they were running 11.60s@116 to 118 mph which was impressive
Amazing video
Any ETA on the 2 separate videos on the MDS and cam phaser, I looked everywhere for them but nota...
Oh I'm one of many who have been asking why didn't you guys change out the valve seals while you where there..
thanks for your videos...
They are both on our backup channel where I post smaller vids and other content 💪 ua-cam.com/video/9xIDXCxZ-co/v-deo.html
Saw you in Westin’s video after the HellJet broke.
Haha yup! 😂
When doing a mds delete, what did you do with the connectors after?
Do you HAVE to put a NEW washer or can you use the one it comes with from factory?
Sounds nice
You can remove the heads with the with long tubes attached ..thats how I do them, saves the customer hours on labor and isn't nearly as bad as ya think ,of course if they are welded to the pipe thats a whole different story but yea normal connection absolutely way easier
Is there any information to figure out what wiring is needed to swap from a 3.5 to a 5.7? I believe my 5 speed transmission is already compatible. Would be interested in swapping myself!
@BoostedMotorSports i’m thinking about doing this for my 5.7 300C any advice?
Does that intake fit under a stock hood?
Let me know if ur red flash light it's ok and when u give u gas dosen't flow right
Where did you find the tune for that cam or did you do it custom thanks
I highly doubt I will get a response however, I am currently doing this to my 2016 5.7. Where I live there are very few if any tuners who work on the mopar platform. What tuner was used for this or who is recommended? I have tried looking online however it is not very clear in this area.
Can someone help me out, first time doing the cam and lifters, just put the heads in but am confused as when I install the rocker arms on the push rods m
It has side to side movement, is this normal or is my push rod not sitting in the lifter? Is it supposed to be firmly in place with no movement or is the movement normal
Would this be the same for 5.7 hemi in dodgr magnum
Great video but painful to watch those factory Eagle casting exhaust ports go back on a cam swap!
allways enjoy the videos..they end too soon....
Was the cam a "no break-in" style cam or did you guys run a traditional break-in period off camera?
Cams with roller bearings don't need a break in period.
Are you running a aftermarket pcv system with that Holley intake setup?
Yes how are you doing that I own the same intake and had to drill out the intake on passengers side and add pcv provisions jeep speed shop on youtube has great vid on this intake
How you keep crank from spinning when torquing the cam bolt?
Did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same problem
I have a 2009 Challenger R/T with a 6 speed. I'd love to do a cam swap on it. Would the process be the same since the 6 speed has VVT rather than MDS?
This challenger had VVT and MDS that is why they locked out the cam phaser which eliminates VVT you will either have to put phase limiters or lock it out the process is the same.
@@loganspargo9222 awesome. Thank you for the reply.
Question what did he do to the phaser
probably a long shot but how did you get the throttle body cable to reach. any link for a extension?
It's electric
I’ve heard the hell cat lifters were the same part number as the regular ones that come in the 5.7
Yep cause it’s no such thing as hell cat lifters
@@terrylee773 ^ LMFAO I mean it's literally that simple wow
What email tune did you guys go with
When it comes to working on your hemi you should mention the channel reignited he knows his shit an trys to help teach people.
When it comes to working on their own Hemi, they know their shit too and don't require mentioning other people because boostedmotorsports has been around a long while too.
i thought yall would have that heavy car on the road or track by now,man this tries my patience,im allmost glad i aint joined yet,we would do stuff till the sun came up,an was finished back in 80,s an 90,s..allways fast an good an go try an take the tracks money an we did, cause punks in shivvys an pfhords cant cut good lights on the tree etc. it was allmost a job for us there was no damn 100,000 a year jobs or rich families...im waiting an allways enjoying the mopars..too bad they didnt make them light as a 72 duster or demon, or scamp, swinger etc..good luck, lets go with it man or im gonna fire yall, lol..good luck,an did you bury the dakota or what...............
You need to break loose the retainers from the keepers by gently tapping the keeper with a hammer. Then when using a C clamp spring compressor once you have adjusted the first spring change you don’t need to screw the adjuster again. Angle torque just mark the head of the bolt & the shoulder where its 90 degrees. I mark the side of the socket so I can see the marks when done. Great video and new sub.
What oil do you put after cam swap?
They literally said exactly what they were using for new oil. Watch the whole video without skiting across the timeline. Also you can use any oil you want, you don't have to use what they use.
Who did your tuning?
Did y’all make any ECM or PCM tuning
They said in the video that they had to upload the tune for that camshaft
Did you not have to degree your cam?
Surprised you didn’t replace the valve seals at that time.
That’s called being lazy and unexperienced 😮
I would run mobil or Castrol gtx
Why not new oil pump?
👍💪
get it on the road,i aint got forever, lets go with it jon,an the DAKOTA..so you can lose your fear of it, fear is from the devil, and a lack of faith in the knowledge, even being shy,or timid,is a form of fear..thus saith the preacher..lol
Could have saved a ton of work with the different spring tool. JS
They didn’t use it properly. Once it’s adjusted you don’t have to screw the handle anymore.
who did he have tune it ??
I have questions
A1
Cheap fix for angle torque, mark with paint pen all bolts same spot , then if you don't have enough turn at least it's easy to see where the bolt turned too
Or buy a better torque wrench 🔧 😆
that car needs some neon,or pink pinstripe or something, how do people see gray on the road...??????
How much hp he doing now
i hope it will have close to 500 horsepowder.......
nothing like a 360, take me to 1987 again.......
Why did yall break out alllllllll the way down just for the cam
No THUMP!!??! Where's that chop chop lol. Sounds nasty still but sounds like a nitrous cam to me.
our jackson,ga cop cars look good an will friggin scream whatever there running,wow...
Ok where's jon? Did he sell his house?did he have an accident?job offer?done with youtube? Not good for channel it is sliding right out of yt suggestions..... hopefully he's ok🤔.,....😒
Welp... I THOUGHT I could do me TA 392 chally by myself... 😒
its kinda quiet.......
They are in a seniors complex shhhhhh
no chop chop
Definitely not using the valve spring tool correctly
Not tryin to be that guy who thinks he knows it all… just for the rooks out there… don’t use a torque wrench to do the 90…. It can stretch the spring out and make future readings off.
i joke an irritate some, but i love the videos an wanna see it,an dakota at over 100 miles an hour..if your out an hour.......yeah,,not yup, or sick..if they say,..sick..lets burn there house down, well, how about toilet paper in the trees at least, and an english course, not coarse..thats 80 grit..im smarter than the average bare, go dallas....glad falcons an raiders an green bay won............
Not much chop
hit it with a hammer an get it to the friggin track...dammit...
get it done an let it set a year cause your afraid of it..o hell no..dont..wheres the poor dakota..retired allready..?????
