Since I feel like there isn’t a super good timeline on how long Belos’ basilisk research has been going on, I kinda think there’s a chance he already got what he needed and that the tech/magic to absorb magic is already in everyone’s coven symbols. And he’s been slowly siphoning magic for the day of unity the whole time

Using basilisk's as bio weapons a big step up for the emperors coven trying to still magical beings powers especially the owl crews powers and I think they hinted this in episode 13 of season 1

@@karisma7591 well, he may be the emperor's nephew and i know he has no friends, only his palisman sho tries to hide from his shadowy uncle because he has a lot mof mysterious plans for him with the titan when the Day of Unity arrives, I just hope that Hunter discovers the truth of the who the emperor really is and how he got sick from wild magic and turned good before it's too late.

I don't think Alador wants Amity to be 'her own person' as much as he wants her to be the strongest abomination user. This may tie into his implied rivalry with Darius. He's still the same guy he was in the Understanding Willow flashback -- his form of villainy is just more pragmatic (and paradoxically, scatterbrained lol)
Like, he wasn't arguing for mercy in Escaping Expulsion, he was arguing that Amity's way of doing things was making her stronger than if she just did what Odalia wanted. Likewise, he probably doesn't care much about Amity's rebellious hair dye, not because he's a cool dad, but because green wasn't his hair color anyway.
The way I see it Odalia is much more obsessed with appearances. How other people view her family and how she can always “sell it” to people (literally and figuratively). This is why she’s so obsessed with who Amity hangs out with and the way she does her hair. But Alador isn’t as concerned with appearances and tends to care more about things behind the scenes. This is why he is the brains in their company while Odalia is the saleswoman. So I agree that he definitely doesn’t care if Amity wants to be her own person. Seems more like he actually took the time to notice that Amity being around Luz and Co. has been allowing her to become stronger and instead of worrying about how she looks hanging out with people of a “lower status”, he is worried about how he can use her newfound strength.
No one can change my mind that Alador's gonna be a villain. Most writers love the villains they make especially if they are misleading. Alador's "concern" for Amity in Escaping Expulsion is just a misdirect to make viewers think that Odalia is a bitch and Alador is a cutie. Alador only took notice when he saw Amity become powerful which could mean he only cares that Amity is getting stronger and would be a useful as his apprentice since they're both Abomination witches. Odalia is 100% gonna be the one who goes against Belos with her oracle magic by finding out something sinister. She could even do something heroic in the end which would be gut-wrenching if she dies for Amity.
Interesting theory:
I viewed the Blight parents as not the kindest of parents and actually noticed when Alador started “caring” for Amity. So this might be accurate we will just have to wait and see
Let’s not forget, it was both parents that told Amity to stop spending time with Willow.
I doubt that honestly. Alador seems more bored than anything. So I don't know what direction he is going. I would bet all my money that Odalia is not going to turn good though.
Okay, so here me out on this, because half of this is going on faith alone, but I promise I'll do my best to make logical sense of it;
The Emperor told Luz "You probably think we want to invade the human realm, but the Titan's will is not so bullish.". So I have an odd feeling that what he's telling the coven heads and showing them in that vision is a lie. He's showing them the realms merging and, presumably, the Emperor and coven heads ruling over the combined realm. But if what he told Luz is true, and he seemed pretty sincere about that, then he may have another plan. We know that the more witches join covens, the stronger the leaders get. We also know that he syphons power to fuel himself. We ALSO know that he creates machines to help him control/eat magic. SO; what if the ceremonial pedestal he had the coven heads place their gems into, was secretly a machine that, when fully activated with enough energy and on the right day, will simply sap all of their magic and transfer it to him and/or the Titan? It would explain why he's so interested in the Blight's work as it's two pronged. A, he knows that the advanced abominations will protect him far better than his standard guard, when he's busy with the actual Day of Unity spell and B, he knows that Mr. Blight's genius can help him refine the machine that the Emperor is building.
Again, i know it's a stretch, but the Emperor seems to be telling slightly different stories, so it's slightly possible.
The Emperor has demonstrated the ability to do far more with honeyed words than any ten witches can do with magic. I think it really is just as simple as him being able to lie through his teeth to get people to do what he wants. He is, fundamentally, a far worse enemy than a witch mad with power- he's a *politician.*
Pretty sure Alador just thinks Amity is more useful if she's stronger, that or being the parents of a talented witch positively affects their image. I could be wrong but honestly i feel like you're giving him way too much credit.

@@misterdj6671 being the quirky person with weird interests liking the iconic chasing butterflies makes it easier to see him as a good guy type and makes it harder for the audience to see he’s not the good hearted person people thinks he could be.
The reason he calls out Odalia was more about seeing his daughter potential to grow stronger to quote be a coven head than actual parental love for her in my opinion.
He is impressive as her daughter defends Luz as her friends and also as her firlfriend.
Time to rewatch Gravity Falls and Ducktales until this hiatus is over...

I've been thinking of that for a while, I think Belos is trying the stop wild witches existing as well since they have an ability of all kinds of magic and can be dangerous to his plans, he might take their magic as well after turning any wild witches to stone

He will pay terrible price and it will be his fault.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Odalia prevented amity from seeing Luz again if she found out they are dating. Would be a Romeo and Juliet situation.

Amity's mother is very strivt and arrogant towards her, but her father is different from her wife.
Alright so he did say moving the Titan would be a spell that not even the power of all the covens could pull off,so maybe with all the magic he has stolen it’s going to be to much and make the portal collapse in on itself.Honestly,that would be unexpected and this show is pretty good at diverting expectations

Oh please? I doubt very much that she will become the sovereign of the Boiling Isles on Day of Unity when she defeats the emperor we habe to wait for what happen in the second part that may possibly come the month of December.

I was rewatching some episodes and was thinking about the "coven symbols control witches" theory, which I wasn't sure about. I kept wondering how emperor belos would deal with school kids who aren't in a coven yet, when episode 13 of season 1 came on and made me realize something important. The basilisk that attacks Hexside? It attacked other schools too. Maybe he was trying to get their magic so he could use it and prevent them from meddling. It could have also just been an easy snack for the basilisk, what with lots of magic in one place and kids who can't fight back too much.
If Hunter can only use artificial magic then what kind of magic was he using in Eclipse Lake? I’m assuming it is sourced from his palisman, but I’m not sure, especially taking his teleportation abilities into consideration.
Pretty sure it was based on his Palisman - it seems that while he doesnt have magic, he knows how to use staffs to emulate it - only this time his Palisman did it for him
Palismen have their own source of magic. So that’s what he was using. He can use that type of magic with the palismen but Belos chooses to give him the artificial staff primarily because he can do much more with an artificial staff and because he doesn’t want Hunter having a real palisman (especially considering Belos feeds off of them).
It would make sense that odaila and alador would use basilisk's as magic draining bio weapons

A lot to expect in the second half of season 2 for sure: the Blight's involvement with the Emperor's Coven, Eda's family, King's heritage, why Belos is studying Basilisks, and the Day of Unity. I also think that Camila and Vee will eventually find themselves in the Demon Realm this season.
Well we still don't know what will happen in the middle of the second season but maybe when it will possibly premiere in the month of December and end in the month of February.
Good also to appearance of Eda's family and Lilith returns, King possibly knowing his biological father and who he really is and what happened to the emperor with the disease of wild magic what caused him and also what happened to Philip Wittebane when he managed to finish creating the portal and how he ended up buried in the courtyard of Eda's parents' house and also maybe Luz and her girlfriend and the rest of her friends manage to create the portal and go to the Human Realm for family reunion.
If we're going off the theory that Belos is from the human realm and hasn't been there for 100s of years, it would be interesting for him to go back and get met face-to-face with some automatic gunfire and not a powder musket.

It's pacing reminds me a lot of Gravity Falls and feel it may do what it did and only do 2 seasons. I heard a third may be in the works, but I don't think Disney is fond of some of Owl House's content.
The Owl House has already been renewed for a third season, it isn’t a rumor. However they cut season 3 short to only 3 episodes against the wishes of the Owl House creators. So it will have more than 2 seasons, but not much after season 2.
It’s confirmed to have a 3rd season already. Although unfortunately it’s confirmed to be shorter than the previous 2. Unless fans can convince Disney to do more, that’s gonna be the case at the moment.

Remember that Amity’s said in season 1 episode 5 that it was her dream was to join the emperor’s covenant. Now that she is dating luz and also knows how corrupt the Emperor is, that definitely isn’t her dream anymore. However her parents still think that Amity wants to join the covenant, Alador did say in season 2 episode 2 that he thinks Amity is growing strong enough to be in the covenant someday. This gives me several different theories on what could happen, the first theory is that something will happen to the current Abomination expert, either he dies or loses his powers somehow, and the emperor needs a replacement fast and that gives Alador and Odalia the idea to have Amity be the replacement, because she has grown to be very powerful and they still think that this is what she wants, but when they ask Amity, she is going to refuse because she doesn’t want that anymore. This will definitely make Odalia mad and she will probably get Kikimora to do whatever she did with Raine to do to Amity. This to me could result in the twins finally standing up to their parents and saving Amity from Kiki or the twins getting to scared to do something so instead they will have to ask Luz for help, which could lead to another witch duel between Amity and Luz, only this time the steaks are higher.

I have a potential theory for "The Owl House," could Luz (and humans in general) possibly be something of an amplifier for magic cast by witches? The reason I bring this up is because some of the most impressive feats (outside of Eda's) were performed with Luz either being directly involved or in close proximity to the spell being cast. Do you find this theory plausible or am I just finding something where there is nothing?
I did have a theory that the witch who turn the owl beast into a curse is the same who took belos and Philip into the demon realm.
Every episode has been important to lore and I'm so happy it's been progressing the way it has been, it doesn't feel rushed to me because they still manage to draw out plot lines long enough to have characters change as required for their story without the change feeling rushed or forced. Examples can be seen with Amity's stand against her parents, something that has been built up to since "Understanding Willow". Also with Harp-Eda happening several episodes after Eda's confrontation with the inner owl beast rather than just happening as soon as she stops running from them.

i believe he was researching basilisk for the purpose of creating the coven tatoos that take away all of your magic except for the one connected to the coven you join, which then take that magic to him in some way and he will uses that magic for the day of unity

I completely disagree with you about Aldaor. In understanding Willow, he's the one that says Blights only associate with the strongest of witches, and from what we see, seems perfectly ok with getting his daughters friend thrown out of Hexside, both then and now. When he's getting them expelled he accidentally said executed for no real reason, and his only concern in that scene is playing Frewin's tail. Later on, He only mildly seems to care that he's about to kill a 14 year old girl. I also don't think the idea that he's just a good guy being forced to do bad things by someone is especially interesting in this circumstance, we already have plenty of characters like that like Amity and Hunter. I think he mostly values strength and/or sticking to the Blight code, whether those values be good or bad, and that he was less concerned by the consequences of Odalia's actions and more by the idea that she would break any deal she made.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the abomintons have some kind of hidden failsafe in case the Emperor came after them.

I think it will to be honest lmao. Just because of how short season 3 is I think they will treat the 3 44-minute episodes as a continuation of season 2.
Fast or slow pace it is all on how you write your characters and tell your story.

8:01 - That would explain why he wants as many people as possible enrolled into covens. Though I do wonder if perhaps the petrified wild witches can be drained of magic still, either unpetrified first or just drained as statues. After all, Belos did say that only the worthy will have magic after the Day of Unity, you'd think people in covens and loyal to covens would count as worthy.

Season 2b comes back in December I calculated the owl house season 1 hiatus It took 4 months till a new episode premiered so you should probably expect owl house episodes in December or January
I just hope we get to see more of Willow Gus and the other side characters in the second part of season 2.

has anyone thought that Owl House could make a great role-playing video game? a well-cohesive plot, complex characters, a world to explore with your own personality, a whole system of magic that would allow a great display of strategy and visual effects
The fact the Dana said that this part of season two was the "happier half" is very concerning
So I was rereading gravity falls lost tells and in a scene in face it where dipper and Pacifica saw the paranormal black market. One of the wanted posters were the head of one of the wax people that escaped but the other one was very much looks like eda from toh. Idk if you already covered this or not

So in rogue one a star wars story, the man the build the death star, purposely built it with a fail safe to stop it, I feel what we could see here Alador making the machine for the day of unity to save himself and his family but leave amity and luz a clue in a way to shut the whole project down.
