- Live beat making without a computer on the Roland VS 2480 multitrack recorder. Used Roland jx-8p on piano and strings. For a DCO analog synth it can make a wide range of sounds. Programmed a few sounds on the behringer odyssey and korg ms-20 mini analog synth. Midi out the odyssey into ms-20. I also have to ms-20 output wired into odyssey input so I can future add effects I'd I want to. This beat is for sale as an exclusive ownership. To get it look below

Nice video. just recently got the MPC one and purchased my second VS 2480 in mint condition yesterday! A young man was moving and needed to unload one that was owned by a family member and sold it to me for $150 with one a fixed card installed! Crazy right? at any rate, saw you using the Akai MPC with your VS and that is exactly what my plan is and so it was good to see someone doing it and doing it well. Wow $150 that was a score!! Yea using the VS-2480 with mpc is awesome. Of course you use just use the mpc but mixing feels so much better on the VS2480

So glad you posted this there is so little recent content on the Vs2480 and I'm trying to get my hands on one to mix and master. I saw you commented about expanding the VS, I didn't know there were expansions outside of the software updates is there any way you could make a video explaining the expansions when you do make them?
The vs-2480 has 2 r-bus ports. Each r-bus port gives you 8in/8out. You can connect other r-bus equipment to give your vs-2480 up to 16 additional ins/outs. Roland DIF-AT, ADA7000 Analogue Interface, E7000 AES‑EBU Digital Interface, roland si-24 and another vs-2480 can be use to expand those inputs. I have the roland dif-at & roland si-24. So I have a total of 32 inputs/outputs. I play to get another vs-2480 and run that as a slave to the main vs-2480. That will give me 2 more r-bus port. Don't think i will need to expand that one but hey. You never know

How do you find the odyssey, I have to I'm on love with mine, it's so bloody weird. And Big! And now I need an ms20
M20 mini was my first analog synth. Powerful filters that can not be matched by any synth. Amazing at synth percussion too. Odyssey is a funky synth. I really dig thr tones and crazy synth effects you can make from it. Don't ever see that synth going anywhere.

What’s good bro how you feel about that vs2400 today? I have the option to buy one but its a little pricey in my opinion for the age. If you were going to upgrade to something newer what would it be?
Vs-2400 is great. There's nothing made today overall is going to top it. Closes thing is the TASCAM DP-32SD Digital Portastudio. Tascam is a new machine. Has USB connectivity. SD card etc.. but, if you are talking about a full stand alone unit.Roland VS series all the way. Have you seen my vs2480 vs vs-2400 video? If you have the space, go vs-2480. You saying pricey. How much they asking for it??

Yes, roland vs-2480 is designed to be without a computer. It's a multitrack recorder, not just a mixer. You could use it just as a mixer if you desire

@@biggrimeit's a vs1880 I think that's what it is but so I'm getting a recorded track audio out of my Bluetooth speaker with some audio cables plugged into is playing some recordable drum track which I'm just trying to play some sounds through my inputs such as Master aux a aux b monitor but no audio is coming from the inputs just the audible recordable track that was recorded on to the device I tried to figure out a way to factory reset it 😕 so now I'm just getting a red light blinking on the little square rectangular buttons on the track select and status and inputs I know the inputs are receiving audio because the red light comes on by the gain knobs which are the input knobs I've been jumping back and forth on it all day and it's driving me nuts 😭 please help cuz I feel like that I'm sorry to say this but I get really frustrated sometimes I feel like I want to take this thing and throw it against the wall cuz I never had this issue with equipment like this before I have a Hercules 4 mx and a AkAI apc40 ableton Controller
