Dedicated to a long known acquaintance of mine, here is a little something for the railroad. Cuchulain portrays an Irish worker in the building of the transcontinental railroad. Enjoy.
After the war for maji restoration he had to flee to America. Being the son of one of the shogunate most loyal samurai and gaining a nasty burn during the fall of edom insured he had nowhere to hid. He now makes a living hammering rail spikes as his uncle and sister run a small tea/liquor shop. He hopes one day to regain his honor and return to his home land.
Well stated, I love that “Fanfic Short Subject” Bro ! ......... I’ll have to write one for Alfonse Elric leaving Eireland to avoid being shipped to Australia as a Comvict.
Those were some REAL guys back in those days, building railroads by hand is hard-ass work, and in those days you weren't paid a lot to slug your guts out all day doing it, maybe a dollar a day if you were lucky. 'Course, the dollar went further back in those days, a loaf of bread cost a penny, a bottle of top notch whiskey was five bucks, and an acre of land would run you around ten or twenty dollars.
Gawdam Irish & German American Roman Catholic I am. I fell off the wagon tonight like an Old Fashioned Railroadman again. Because a Mussolini & Hitler has been elected President. What in the Good Name of God Almighty are we going to do?
Thank you Lord Drako for this. I appreciate Chinese American Boy Aang and Japanese American Boy Zuko as Section Men for the Central Pacific......I'm sure they settled down in French Camp & Lodi's Former Japantown and Stockton's Former Chinatown.............Deceased Irish American Boy Alfonce's Children probably ended up in Tracy and Sacramento.
I admit I love those two Asian - Am Boys from Avatar Last Airbender and Thank You!...........Check out a book about "Stockton's Chinatown". Which sadly only exit's in good memories now. "The Chinese Community of Stockton" from "The Visions of America" series.
Sir, I just wanted to say - thank you so very very much for all your work. So many awesome sea shanties, with such nice illustrations, I'm watching/listening them for months now.
It is very interesting that each different group sings slightly different verses or choruses to this song. In Primary school we used to sing this but with the chorus of "Patsy Ori Ori I a-working on the railway"
how about the irish confederate regiments or the fact that black soldiers could fight next to white soldiers in the confederacy? or that the Cherokee nation fought for the south? the union won so most are taught yankee history
Another good railway song is Drill Ye Tarriers Drill, should you ever get the notion to do another one Have to admit I love the drawings you do for these, the attention to detail and historical accuracy in the various scenes is quite grand.
+Commander Convoy Al Elric, Gaara, Naruto, Sasuke, Prince Zuko, Avatar Aang, Axle, Trunks, Rock Lee, Sora, Uub, Edward Elric, Alfred F. Jones, Duo Maxwell, Riku, Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, Goten, and I'm sure many more!.........
Another brilliant video as always my friend.
I wouldn't mind seeing one of the following done in the future:
- Waltzing Matilda
- Redgum - I Was Only 19
- We're Bound for Botany Bay
I’m American but I love waltzing Matilda
Wonder if Zuko's Scar was incurred from a brush with Black Powder or perhaps the Japanese Civil War.......

Who better to lay steel crosstie than steel men?
Did you know that Sikh boys in Stockton worked for Southern Pacific section gang?
+Tani Purewal
I'd believe it.
Ah, Cuchulain, the Hound of Ulster, Ireland's equivalent to Hercules.... As the main star of a video about a good old Irish song.... Nice. :)
Anyone with a Paddy in the family tree ought to like this video. :) A lot of hard work united the United States like never before in those years.
It could have been worse; he could have been at Gettysburg, Franklin, or Viksburg during those years...

We need the spirit of the San Patricio's and Nisei I think to endure this!
Where can you find this on Apple Music , I keep looking and can’t find it
I absolutely love your work. Could you maybe do "Isn't it Grand" by the Boggards?
Men did not get paid well for all the hard work they did back then - I great great great relative who did this - it was hell -
