Legit this is god level VG music. Tee Lopes is a genius, like he totally gets Sonic but then just amps it up to 11. Same with his work on the new Streets of Rage 4 ost. Grateful for TL.
Reminds me a lot of Jake Kaufman (e.g. Shantae Half Genie Hero)... which is no bad thing. And the question is whether one was influenced by the other, or the other way round, or they both just have a love of the same classic VGM era where FM (and synthesised MIDI) was fighting with sampletracking, then wavetable MIDI came along and ganked them both (as well as actual CD soundtracks, but the early examples of such often sounded rather like the latter anyway). Edit: Heck, Hydrocity Act 2 could be straight off the HGH soundtrack. Very similar vibe to the first half of the Mermaid Factory zone. Of course, that could have been a deliberate Sonic homage by Jake... Similarly there's several parts of Oil Ocean (both acts) that sound like the Harbour and Desert stages, beyond the extremely obvious/inevitable stereotypical-Arabian influence to both.

No se cuantas veces estuve escuchado esto cada vez que algo una actividad, pero es jodidamente bueno este OST
Honestly, I can’t believe they managed to make every track on here an absolute banger.
“Just make a simple Sonic soundtrack, nothing fancy. You don’t have to go all out.”
Tee Lopes: “…I’m going to create one of the greatest video game soundtrack of all time.”

Flying Battery Zone Act 1 26:38 I love so much!
heck yeah always loved feeling that adrenaline rush when the song starts
With how amped-up this song was, I honestly thought that the video game was nearing the end already. I was very relieved to find out I was so wrong!
Hydrocity Act II will always be the best 2D Sonic song to me. Mad respect to Green Hill Zone for starting us off perfectly all those years ago. And there are lots of bangers. But that one is like pure perfection imo
7 years have past, and I still listen to tracks from this ost to this day, it’s one of my fav games and one of my favorite osts ever. Tee lopes was an immigrant so I’m kinda surprised that he’s able to make good music
18:43 man, they managed to use a heart beat sound to make this fake out.......and it was awesome!!!
this is the only redone version of green hill zone ive ever heard that actually gets its right. phenomenal. and the act 2 extrapolation doesn't feel forced at all.
After all these years, and in 2022, this song is still not talked about as much as should. 1:43:48 deserves much more attention

I think Tee Lopes is the god of STH music and video games in general really.
even though im stuck at stardust speedway,i can hear the music
Man i finished this game in 1 day with the bad ending then the second day with the good ending and now my eye has a red spot
@Memescular You got all of the medals on the Blue Sphere stages?? Because i did, and i regret nothing
@@hiandente I got all GOLDEN medals in the special stages, and beated Encore mode three times (btw I'm planning to beat a fourth time)
@@chillway5776 i did a save for every single character including a bonus one for Knuckles & Knuckles with all the chaos emeralds, and i did encore only one time, but i made sure i put all the characters in order on the save select like: S,T, K, M, R.
@Memescular what about the secret and knuckles ending
I love that main menu theme is called "Comfort Zone"
SO MANY BANGERS
Studiopolis Act 1 is still the best sonic act I’ve ever played. The music isn’t an exception
Agreed
lava reef act1 and flying battery are bangers
1:59:00 perfect combo with hard bass and hard snare + lead
Stardust Speedway Zone act 1.. Has such a beautiful song!!
I got.. A heart?! 😮☺
lofi: *screaming intensily*

Probably a reason for that :D
It’s been 5 years and I always be coming back to check on these tracks once in a while
all the songs highlighted in white are bangers
That ending & Knuckles is when Sonic, Tails and Knuckles ripped a fat bong of Knuckles hidden 420 stash
Takes me back to the 90s. Me and my cousin up late at night trying to get through Metropolis Zone . Good times
Let’s all thank Tee Lopes for this amazing soundtrack and N- Duo for spending so much of his time organizing this top notch soundtrack
This is the best Sonic soundtrack. Every song is so good it is so hard to pick a fave. Studiopolis Act 1, Stardust Speedway Act 2, Metallic Madness Act 1…I love what they did with Lava Reef Act 2 with those guitars!
Ironically, in your comment you wrote titles of the only tracks, which I liked.
@@Mixa_YuZz26 Only? What about every other track? Lol
U should listen to sonic cd ost
Tee Lopes absolutely brought pure bliss to everyone's ears with this soundtrack. It's so damn beautiful, I can't describe it with words.
Metallic Madness Act 2 is my favourite!
Happy Birthday Sonic Mania!!!🎂
Chemical Plant Zone Act 2 will always give me goosebumps... same with Oil Ocean Zone Act 1, I can't believe they remixed it, they both sound so good.
50:48 I just now caught this but I LOVE how they sprinkled in a hint of the Sky Chase Zone from Sonic 2 on this track which was modeled from that zone!!!!
Sky Chase Zone* It's just before Wing Fortress
@@kaams224 yeah your right. That’s what I meant. Editing original message…. Thanks!
I'm glad someone else noticed it
Makes me feel like I'm going on an adventure. The greatest adventure.
I guess you could say
A Sonic Adventure
I'm a classic Sonic fan and always will be. It's the first video game I ever played in my life. But this sound track. This sound track... They outdid themselves. 10/10.
U should listen to the sonic cd ost
I like how the songs fully describe the word "Mania".
I am going to correct this: (idk at the time you're reading this)
years have passed and I still think this is one of THE best gaming OST's in video game history
Pin this if you've hearted it ;)
i agree, and this is coming from someone who has listened to 40+ OSTS LOL. the top 10 arent pushovers though
there isnt a soundtrack that makes me want to dance more than the sonic mania soundtrack, anytime one of these songs come on i just start boppin and groovin
the dislikes were from dr. eggman and his 70 alternative accounts
true
Yo suelo escuchar esto para hacer cosas y DIOS como el tiempo pasa tan rapido

I literally cry everytime I hear the opening music for Sonic Mania. It's so f*cking great!
Lava reef act 2 hits my heart. 80’s Guitar wales always please!!!!
20:43 Honestly a straight banger and my favorite in the soundrack
To be fair all of them are bangers but whatever
Yeah, probably my favorite out of all of them. Other than Green Hill Zone Act 1.
Yeah I’m in between Green Hill Zone Act 1 or Mirage Saloon Zone Act 1
this in my opinion is the best video game ost, like there is literally no bad track
HOW DOES SONIC MUSIC ACTUALLY BOP SO HARD! I’ve never been a head banger but Hard Boiled Heavies Theme changed that for me lol
I think that I can wholeheartedly say that Sonic Mania is my favorite video game ever made and this is the perfect soundtrack for this game.
