I was listening to Rerez through my headphones when the video was explaining Shadow’s power ring inhibitors I got an advert for DIY halfway through. So I was pretty confused when I heard that removal of his power rings allowed Shadow to build a lovely garden shed
Fun fact! There are a total of 465 necessary load screens, which total up to 1hr 58min 34sec. This, however, is if you do everything in the game perfectly, so expect at least 2 hours of your game time to be taken up by the god damn loading screens.

I wasn't even impatient. I just thought the show might have been discontinued for some reason. Or there was a small chance they were working on something big. I think they did joke that it takes time to make a video cause the games are hard to get through. I think there's some truth in that though. And they do their research. So I'm not even mad. Just glad they're fine.
@@WarDragonOfTheLight Oh, I didn't read your comment as being mad, lol! Just was agreeing that I'd been looking for a new update and was surprised when we got this behemoth. The quality of the videos are worth waiting for.
@@WarDragonOfTheLight I would think that the more modern a release they cover, the more time it takes as well. Modern games are far more expansive, after all.
I remember when Lyrhero streamed this. There were so many long loading screens that he was able to finish the story mode of an entirely different sonic game just with the load times alone.
@@silvaskiproductions3937 A perfect playthrough views 2 hours worth of loading screens, so watching this video at 1.5x speed would be more than enough time to finish the video. No, NEVER forget the bad games of the past! If we bury those memories we're doomed to repeat those same mistakes again! You Rerez boys do such fantastic work telling the world what went wrong in these titles. This is one of the most detailed breakdowns of Sonic 06 I've ever seen. So don't doubt yourselves and keep up the great work!
Unfortunately a lot of CEO's seem to think that if it didn't work the first time, they should fire everyone involved and try again with a different developer. :(
Sonic was literally AWAYS trash.......Sorry not sorry. Its a garbage trash game, wants you to use "speed" but is so piss poorly designed you can't really use speed, and he controls so piss poorly the awful platforming is even more awful... A god awful garbage trash series that never knew what it wanted to be and still has no clue what it wants to be
And SEGA really needs to be reminded of it, since they made the exact same mistakes with Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, which development story is 'Sonic 06 2.0' just slightly less painful
@@lutherheggs451 I mean your completely wrong. The first 2 were genuinely good games as were Adventures 1 and 2 and that’s not just my opinion that’s the general consensus. since then it’s been a lot of bad but saying no game is good is completely false. You not liking them is different than them being bad. I don’t personally enjoy The Legend of Zelda series over all but I won’t deny it’s an important series with several great games. Grow up.

The Idris Elba comment is funnier if you realize that he plays knuckles, and in the eponymous series staring Idris Elba, Knuckles wields the flames of disaster - which is Iblis in this game. Not sure if you intended the joke to be that clever, but if so, good one.
It annoys me how inconsequential Sonic's role in the story is. His whole episode can be summarized as blue hedgehog saves princess from bald man. 5 times.
The entire planning, development, and release of this game (along with Sonic 1 for the GBA) should be used as a negative case study in both software development and brand management.
That was probably intentional. My guess is that Sonic’s story was meant to focus on stopping Eggman like in every other game, while Shadow and Silver’s stories covered stuff like Mephiles manipulating everything from behind the scenes.
"It's no uses" Thousands have war flashbacks to the mere mention that phrase Happy 50th episode, everyone. And with three hours, it was well worth the wait
52:49 - Hold up! There's one critical piece of media that you're dismissing with this argument... Sonic X. Sure, I know that Sonic X isn't exactly lighting the world on fire nowadays, but back in the 2000s, Sonic X was a pretty big deal. Is no exaggeration when I say that most of the kids that I knew back then, became Sonic fans because of that series. So Modern Sonic wasn't this "Obscure" part of the series that only a select few knew about, they were really popular!
Not to mention that Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog were on all the previous generations systems. It may not have given their origins, but anyone who played either of them would also have already known these characters in some way.
She's not a chicken, she's a swan. That's actually documented somewhere, she was going to be a swan princess. Been forever since I saw where it said that, though.
Should have done so, never liked how Sonic characters exist next to human look like they from Final Fantasy games At least their know this and re-design the princess to fit with the art style.
Jesus, those pre-rendered cutscenes make me feel even worse for this game It’s a sign that this game was going to be great before it got curb stomped time and time again by its hellish time being developed.
Future Ghost is wrong. We need to remember the past, bad games and all, otherwise we will be subjected to more of them in the future from devs who didn’t learn from past mistakes, and gamers who never learnt the warning signs.
I mean after Sonic 06, Sega made Sonic Boom Rise Of Lyric, Colors Ultimate and Sonic Forces so they didn't learn anything since then to be honest. At least SonicxShadow Generations was good though. I hope they can keep that momentum with next new releases
@sonicmaiden2871 oi oi oi. I'll grant you Boom being in the same disaster tier as 06, but Colors Ultimate and Forces are just normal bad Sonic games and I won't stand for you putting them in with 06 and Boom (and the kinect controls version of Free Riders).
@@neoqwerty Colors Ultimate had seizure inducing bugs on switch which I also think It's really bad. Forces wasn't a buggy game but the level design and physics in in it were really bad and the game as a whole was really boring. I'd rather play 06 over Forces any day since at least 06 wasn't boring, really automated, short and super easy.
@sonicmaiden2871So, the way I see it, Forces is the boring bad kind of Sonic Game, Colors Ultimate is the broken bad kind of Sonic game and 06 and Boom are the so broken they're actually fun kind of Sonic game. Did I get that right?
Not only is this an amazing episode, but the callbacks to previous episodes (I'm an Eagel! Professor Azubin, and the nature narrator) are all a treat! Better than the game you're playing 😂
Just the other day I was like "it's been so long since the last episode of Just Bad Games. Did they cancel it?" Only to be jumpscared by a video I've been waiting years for. And it's 3 hours? Thank you.
For the record, Sonic Heroes was the first game to feature the dummy ring bomb attack. That's probably where it came from, and it was just as confusing in that game, too.
In Heroes it was solely used when the flying characters were by themselves. You barely saw it unless you let the other 2 characters get caught by 1 specific enemy that isn’t that common.
Sonic Heroes... Man I spent way too long trying to A-Rank the whole game. That and 100%ing Shadow The Hedgehog. There are s something seriously wrong with us Sonic fans. To varying degrees of sincerity, but nonetheless. And the fact I know so much about Sonic Heroes' mechanics to have known about the ring dummy bomb scares that into me.
I recommend playing Sonic p06 remake by Chaos x. It's for pc and it fixes a lot of problems the original had. Also it adds some new stuff and visual effects on top as well. And it has mod support.
Given how few and far between Rerez eps are, let alone Just Bad Games, I feel expecially thankful for this 3h long gift! Happy holidays to you too, guys! I hope you were able to treat yourself to go see Sonic 3 after what assume has been a long, grueling process to make this video!

Fun fact: The US release day of Sonic '06 also had Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis, a GBA remake of the original Sonic the Hedgehog (which itself reuses the bad J2ME port's source code), which is also as buggy, glitchy as hell, and is also considered to be one of the worst Sonic games (imo it's MUCH worse). How ironic.
The writing is bad, but the good news is every new character in the game save for the Duke went on to become far more popular due to better writing and redesigns.

Can we talk about how Rouge basically died in the original timeline because she had to give the Omega the emerald so he could wait for the Future? She basically condemned an entire timeline to burn to get Shadow home. Kind of hardcore and based, but also completely avoidable
Hope Omega had nothing else to do for 200 years as he stood under the freeway overpass staring into space, watching time pass him by as he lived out his existential nightmare.
@planescaped I suppose that also answers the age old question of whether or not Omega was an E Series robot that ran on Flicky power, or if Eggman discontinued that power source after Gamma. Because I'm pretty sure that bird would be dead by that time. 👀 Shadow and Omega disappearing from the equation means that Rouge was on her own for a LONG time, and I can only hope that Sonic welcomed her into his friend group after she presumably said "Yeah, my guys are trapped in the Future and we're all probably all gonna die in this reality anyway. Wanna go out for chilli dogs while we watch the world burn?" Although, Sonic could have been able to just say "Hey, I know I need two Chaos Controls at the same time to go to the Future, but Egghead's got this Time Machine, so why don't we just go back to go pick up Shadow ourselves?" And then they all could have ganged up on Mephiles and he would not have seen that coming. ... Actually, I was joking at first, but that actually would have been a way cooler boss fight, just use a lite version of the Sonic Heroes mechanics and just swap between either team. THEN Mephiles would have a valid reason to target Sonic. 😆
Ironically enough, Sonic has seen that before (Sister Sonic (a cancelled reskin of Popful Mail for the Sega CD), Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (reskin of the MD version of Puyo Puyo), Sonic's Schoolhouse (reskin of a cancelled game called "Answer Hunt"), and Tails' Skypatrol (reskin of a cancelled Disney game).
Apparently this was literally the case according to some former Sega Devs. Since Sonic's 15th anniversary was fast approaching Sega decided to change gears during development in order to bank on the character's popularity. Before that happened 06 was Origin going to be an entirely new IP.
56:52 i think its worth mentioning that Sonic Heroes released in 2004 for every major home console at the time and sold over 3 million copies, across Xbox, Ps2, and Gamecube. The game also gives some context as to who the chacters in 06 are. You also had the games on the GBA which helped flesh out some characters. I think they meant more that she's not explained in this game, and that because it's unclear whether she IS the Rush Blaze, that she's basically a new unknown character who's never really explained and not them not knowing who she is, they even say so in the video at the beginning in text below Blaze

I love how Eggman completely forgot about wanting to collect Mephiles like halfway through the plot, and then just acts like he knows how this guy was thinking after getting yoinked into the shadow realm with everyone
hell, its never even suggested he knew Mephiles was a thing. he knew the scepter of darkness was a thing and had a part of solaris in it probbaly, but he shouldn't really know anything about mephiles or his machinations, especially since WHY WOULD ANYONE TELL HIM???
@sarafontanini7051 Yeah, the only times Eggman even namedrops Mephiles is both when Shadow busts into the train, and after Sonic dies. As far as Eggman knew, the gooey shadowy shape coming out of the broken Scepter was nameless, because he sure didn't stick around to see what happened. Which also makes me wonder how he planned to contain Mephiles after he was already walking around and stuff? Eggman's track record with harnessing godlike beings, even back then, was very, very bad, and Mephiles is way more visibly sentient than something like Chaos or, even later, the Time Eater. Was he just gonna throw him in a containment cell or put a collar of sorts on him??
To be fair to that later part, it's totally in-character for him to act like he knows exactly what's going on and he anticipated all of this, even when what's happening is crazy. The last thing that eggman would ever do is admit when he's in over his head.
What no. I'm just saying that jrpgs have same or similar plots with magic rocks. Ff with the crystals, can't really think of any others at the moment maybe fire emblem?
The P-06 shout out at the end is my take. It's almost obscene how much better the experience is over the base game, and its biggest flaw is that it's still 06 at its core. Fan created levels, ported levels, and other little touches really let you experience the characters' abilities much better. Like goddamn, I'd unironically pay money for a Shadow solo game or an Amy solo game that plays as well as they do in 06, for a full campaign. The OG game is best when you find fun breaking it apart, manipulating the glitches and learning how to avoid the instability.
For Project 06, I'm pretty sure the goal was just to create the best possible version of the base game instead of something entirely new. I'm a little surprised Rerez didn't think this, but the level design is one of the better parts of the game, and the fact it was almost entirely unchanged in P06 speaks volumes. The potential 06 had was massive and could've been a legitimate Sonic Adventure 3, and while it still has core issues that need reworking, I think P06 shows that it could've been a pretty good game had Sonic Team had more time to work on it
@@SuspiciousScout Yeah I was confused when it said the level design was bad. My assumpition based on footage is that they talking about you skipping interaction which kind of. If you're just completing the level without care about rank possible but that's assuming you're not playing it more than once for more secrets, new routes and unlocking abilities.

If anything, Sonic 06 never gave Blaze a proper introduction either. At least her gameplay segments were pretty decent compared to all the other characters from what I had learned.
@@mattjdoms9472 I think the reason for that is because, besides Silver and Bllaze the rest of the Sonic casts were already in past games before Sonic '06. Blaze, as far as I know, has a small role in this game and doesn't really appear all that often. Which is kind of disappointing because I really do like Blaze, she's one of my top three favorite Sonic characters.
@@G0ttaSmashTh3mAll They literally show a brief text box that stated that she was in Sonic Rush, which was my very first and remains my favorite Sonic game, hence why Blaze is my favorite character. Tbh I don't mind her retcon very much as seeing her as a protective older sister role to Silver is still quite nice... I just wish they gave her equal attention to friggin' E-123 Omega instead of "I guess Silver's cat friend has a name"
"Why are you helping?" "No special reason." The writing...not even a minute in and the writing! All he had to say was he heard/found out Dr Eggman was planning an attack and barely made it in time- _anything_ to sound less like you're trying to make him the shoehorned knight in shining armor from the 14 year old's midnight keyboard scribbles. At least this makes sense considering Eggman is a recurring villain for him!
I'm not sure if Rerez has mentioned that Sonic 06 was originally supposed to be a reboot of the Sonic series for it's anniversary. I guess those last minute changes the devs couldn't fix the writing and narrative of the story.
Sonic is a shifter who always lives by the moment, he does whatever he thinks is right and him simply saying that is just him being a bit cocky, but he promised to save Elise and he did second Stage, then things are explained more clearly in a cutscene. Not every little nitpick needs to be turned into some major flaw.
@sush4nz1...74 He basically answered why he is helping with a resounding "Dunno". Every way you slice it, that's just bad writing. Even if you wanted to just say Sonic is just trying to save lives, sure, but in a well written story every statement should mean something. This ends with your first gameplay of Sonic introducing him with all the character depth of a Gary Stu. A statement that doesn't mean anything yet is fine, but something that ends up in total reader, or in this case player, bewilderment is badly written. ESPECIALLY for first impressions, you just don't do things like this. It sets the stage for the rest of the game, and as things do not improve when it comes to the writing, it never recovers from it, making this not just a nitpick but foreshadowing of the quality to expect going forward.
Iblis was released in the future because Elise died on the Egg Carrier when it crashed in the one timeline, so apparently the seal also breaks when she dies. Which begs the questions: "Why didn't Mephiles merge any other time???" And "Why didn't he kill Elise himself??" The only hint of hesitation I could imagine is maybe Mephiles has memories of Elise as a child visiting the lab, when he was still in Solaris' purest form, pre-explosion, and was like "I need to break the seal, but like... She was reeeeeeeally nice to me when I was a baby flame, so the least I can do just the bare minimum because I'm lazy."
Either that or "I've got all the time in the world and then some, might as well take the long but fun route. And by fun I mean making everyone suffer."
@robertlupa8273 He's like: "I'm gonna cease to exist the moment I merge, so I might as well get my teenage stupidity phase over with before YOLO-ing into the Void."
@extragoogleaccount6061 I always figured that the Solaris they were using was either a weak clone or wasn't a fully formed diety before the Incident. Considering that Sonic mentions a "True Solaris" near the end. Alternately, I'm sure that injecting it with agents and throwing a crapton of electricity into the mix while trapping it in a glass tube for science reasons did nothing to sway it's annoyance with humanity trying to harness its abilities. They pulled a Mewtwo Experiment on it, and it reacted accordingly. Honestly, kind of messed up that Elise seems to be under the belief that Solaris looks over Soleanna and protects it when she was there when the whole thing imploded and killed her dad. She was either severely traumatized and blocked that out of her memory, or she didn't comprehend that and whoever raised her up until Eggman showed up just told her the gist of it and hoped she wouldn't think otherwise. Either way, no wonder Mephiles and Iblis are perpetually ticked off.
the most mind boggling part to me about the story is they wanted to pair sonic up with a princess. but instead of using a princess they already had (blaze the cat) who was already well liked by fans, and a cartoon animal like sonic, they instead make a realistic looking human princess (elise). then they shove blaze into silvers campaign instead , messing up her backstory, and having her do nothing of value until the end when she does a sacrifice that’s really just the writer stuffing her into a fridge. oh and then they made blaze’s sacrifice pointless immediately afterwards.
I think it's been said by 06's main writer that he wanted to do more with Blaze and have a more organic tie-in with Rush and there's a lot of things in 06 that are clear holdovers from Blaze's game. The Sol- prefix everywhere, Sonic's gems looking just like the Sol Emeralds, Blaze and Elise have very similar backstories, etc. It just didnt pan out, likely because it was rushed
blaze's backstory, getting shitted on, is kinda dumb, as she is from a parallel dimension, implied multiple times in sonic rush and it's sequel but hey, that's what happens when you get a god awful deadline 😔
2:06:00 Wait, a thought just hit me around here. If Omega got to the future by waiting for that moment, then went back in time to the present, does that mean there’s two versions of Omega at that specific point in time? It’s not like he went to the future the same way Sonic or the others did. He got there the good old fashioned way, by rusting on the side of the road. But now that version of him is in the past, which is the present where he already was and he needs to wait to get to the future, but they’re undoing the future so Omega waiting for Shadow won’t do anything but that… that… Brain hurty!!!
And the most important question is: if the two Omegas were to meet and this didn't annihilate the space-time continuum by default, would they try to shoot eachother? 🤔
Here are three other games that came out in 2006, for no real reason: Resistance Fall of Man, Gears of War, Kingdom Hearts 2 (yeah, I know it released in Japan in 2005, but it released in the US in 06).

I was 16 when this game came out. I remember my dad buying it for my sister, at the time 5 years old, because he had a lot of fond nostalgia for the Sega Genesis game. Keep in mind that we literally hadn't played a Sonic game past the Sega Genesis, and he thought maybe we should try the newer ones to see how we like them, and this happened to be our first (and subsequently last) attempt at getting back into the series. His exact words when we watched my sister play it were, "I was expecting this to be a little bit more like the Sonic we had on Sega...I have no idea what this Final Fantasy knock-off game is." I’ll admit, I actually have a weird kind of respect for Sonic 06. I like high-concept Sonic, and Sonic 06 is Sega shooting for the _furthest_ of stars and crashing face-first into a volcano on Mars. It’s a catastrophe, but damned if they didn’t _try_ to make something epic despite having half their resources and team ripped away from them. Speaking of which, now that Project 06 is a thing, we need a Secret Rings remake. There is a _lot_ to love about that game, and even though I never had a problem with the controls, it really does deserve a remake with more traditional controls.

Specifically SA2.
Specifically specifically, the SA2 Hero story
I wonder if one could watch this video during the loading screens 🤔
@@silvaskiproductions3937 Most definitely.
@@silvaskiproductions3937 A perfect playthrough views 2 hours worth of loading screens, so watching this video at 1.5x speed would be more than enough time to finish the video. You might could even play this video at normal speed if the player doing this repeated loading screens (from deaths for example) enough times.
5 times.
Shadow has to baby everyone.
The main character of the entire franchise being the least involved in the story on his 15th anniversary will always be nasty work.

I thought her design was supposed to resemble the Eagle, since most of the biggest influence in their country based around birds are the Eagles.
Should have done so, never liked how Sonic characters exist next to human look like they from Final Fantasy games
At least their know this and re-design the princess to fit with the art style.
It’s the red hair that makes her look more chicken than swan, since chickens have those red combs.

We're so glad you liked it!
For the record, Sonic Heroes was the first game to feature the dummy ring bomb attack. That's probably where it came from, and it was just as confusing in that game, too.
So the devs didn't learn from their mistakes
@LARKXHIN such is the sonic dev life.
The Dummy Ring wasn't meant to be tails's main thing even in that game, in Heroes all the flight characters have ThunderShoot, a weaker homing attack

Can we talk about how Rouge basically died in the original timeline because she had to give the Omega the emerald so he could wait for the Future? She basically condemned an entire timeline to burn to get Shadow home. Kind of hardcore and based, but also completely avoidable
They also just glossed over how Blaze died to seal away Iblis 💀
@eeveestar6826 well it was immediately made irrelevant, kind of like how blazes overall role in this game seems to just be for silvers development.
Shadow and Omega disappearing from the equation means that Rouge was on her own for a LONG time, and I can only hope that Sonic welcomed her into his friend group after she presumably said "Yeah, my guys are trapped in the Future and we're all probably all gonna die in this reality anyway. Wanna go out for chilli dogs while we watch the world burn?"
Although, Sonic could have been able to just say "Hey, I know I need two Chaos Controls at the same time to go to the Future, but Egghead's got this Time Machine, so why don't we just go back to go pick up Shadow ourselves?"
And then they all could have ganged up on Mephiles and he would not have seen that coming.
... Actually, I was joking at first, but that actually would have been a way cooler boss fight, just use a lite version of the Sonic Heroes mechanics and just swap between either team.
THEN Mephiles would have a valid reason to target Sonic. 😆
I swear this game feels like it was going to be a random jrpg but then Sega decided to make it about sonic instead without changing any other assets.
The cutscenes would look much better if Eggman was a FF villain and Sonic a JRPG protag
@I-like-Sonic-91And Sonic Adventure was initially conceived as an RPG.
Apparently this was literally the case according to some former Sega Devs. Since Sonic's 15th anniversary was fast approaching Sega decided to change gears during development in order to bank on the character's popularity. Before that happened 06 was Origin going to be an entirely new IP.
That would explain A LOT

Sonic could had told Elise that he's helping her to protect her from danger
Which begs the questions:
"Why didn't Mephiles merge any other time???"
And
"Why didn't he kill Elise himself??"
The only hint of hesitation I could imagine is maybe Mephiles has memories of Elise as a child visiting the lab, when he was still in Solaris' purest form, pre-explosion, and was like "I need to break the seal, but like...
Ain't no bad story like a bad time travel story.
My question is why did this society worship a flame representing pure evil? Or why did the flame become pure evil?
Love how most of the supporting characters have nothing to do in the story.

but instead of using a princess they already had (blaze the cat) who was already well liked by fans, and a cartoon animal like sonic, they instead make a realistic looking human princess (elise).
then they shove blaze into silvers campaign instead , messing up her backstory, and having her do nothing of value until the end when she does a sacrifice that’s really just the writer stuffing her into a fridge.
oh and then they made blaze’s sacrifice pointless immediately afterwards.
It just didnt pan out, likely because it was rushed
blaze's backstory, getting shitted on, is kinda dumb, as she is from a parallel dimension, implied multiple times in sonic rush and it's sequel but hey, that's what happens when you get a god awful deadline 😔
ofncourse then that means you';re getting selfcest instead, cause Blaze is implied to be an alternate universe SOnic
Oh, I’ve gone cross-eyed again 🤪
And the most important question is: if the two Omegas were to meet and this didn't annihilate the space-time continuum by default, would they try to shoot eachother? 🤔
but would the two omegas kiss and then team up to mruder eggman?
This kiss gave the word Cringe meaning and the rest is History.
5:32 That's not sweat coming from Shane's eyes. That looks like blood... Oh dear sweet Hedgehog Buddha, this is gonna hurt...
Dear master king.
Some people say that 'Sonic the Hedgehog' (2006) is still loading to this day.
8:07 THE FLAMES OF DISASTER! - Wade Wippple 2024
Here are three other games that came out in 2006, for no real reason: Resistance Fall of Man, Gears of War, Kingdom Hearts 2 (yeah, I know it released in Japan in 2005, but it released in the US in 06).
Persona 3 also released this year.
@Kimonia6 Really? That just further proves my point.
@@gageperuti5519 being honest I wanted to add to the lists of games that came out in 2006 for no real reason
@@Kimonia6 And I appreciate it.
Sonic riders also released in 2006
48:14 Sonic Adventure is underappreciated, at the time it was THE first next gen platformer. A huge step up after limited levels of Crash & Spyro on PS1. Remember, Dreamcast pushed that out before PS2 was a thing.
Wow, like mario 64 didn't introduce free roaming and exploration
@@razernexus2717 It's easier to claim that something is THE first next gen platformer when you ignore the game that actually is THE first next gen platformer.
His exact words when we watched my sister play it were, "I was expecting this to be a little bit more like the Sonic we had on Sega...I have no idea what this Final Fantasy knock-off game is."
She made it all the way to the orca part and then got really bored with it and never touched it again.
Sad because Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast (and later ports) were perfectly fine 3D Sonic games!
@@KasumiRINA So I've heard. I might give them a shot someday. Sonic '06 on the other hand can stay in the Bin of Shame in the corner of my basement with all the other PS3 games that we didn't like and will never play again.
yeah while 06 was bad other games are good. SOnic Adventure 1 and 2, Sonic Heroes (debatably, its divisive), Sonic Generations and of course Sonic Mania are certainly ones to try
9:06 "Likes: nooks, crannies..."
My word, that's Miles Edgeworth The Hedgehog
I’ll admit, I actually have a weird kind of respect for Sonic 06.
Media disasters are fun because they make you think what could've been and that's fun.
At least Peach only gets kidnapped once a game. I mean WTF!
Kidnapped only to be rescued and kidnapped again, only to escape and then be kidnapped, only to be rescued and return home, only to then show up kidnapped in the next scene.
Feels like stream of consciousness writing, lol.
8:54. Had me dying. The way both guys say that line, how one of them sounds a little like Jason Griffith’s Sonic, and the Sonic Schoolhouse box art make it funnier than it should be.
Between this and Lytheros Sonic 06 video "The Silver Campaign"
Ive been laughing at sonic 06 more than usual.
06 is a funny game. Both the bugs inside it and the videos made on it are funny.
This will be fun.
only members remember the shotty audio original upload.
It was a different time then
I still hear the weird audio... was it even worse before?
@@ShermTank7272During Sonic's story, the game dialogue and sounds were noticably more compressed while the other stories had crisp, clean audio
The only Hinoka fan I know of
@@ShermTank7272It seems the footage from 06 is still compressed and messed up at least sone of the time, but the rest of the audio sounds fine, maybe previously everything else was messed up too?
The fact that one of you sounds like Sonic makes this even better
This game's story genuinely feels like they forcefully implanted Sonic characters into a Final Fantasy game. I mean you've got a kingdom, a doomed future, and a godly being as the final boss. Elise also looks like the required love interest of the main character
Holy crap 50 years of Just Bad Games. Time flys.
The big number 50 of just bad games and it’s one of the most iconic and recognizable examples of a bad game out there. And the video is 3 whole hours long, this is going to be a FUN one, especially with the Sonic 3 movie so close
This game was BOUND to be reviewer, and now finally here it is
465. That’s the number of loading screens you have to sit through for a perfect game. No glitches, no deaths, no game overs, no restarts it must be PERFECT. You know how long that is? 1:56:42. That’s almost two hours of nothing, waiting for something to happen.
Oh 😅
Chariii5?
@ yep
Probably better since most hate the game itself lol
If there had to be a game to canonize an anthropomorphic character getting it on with a human and acknowledge furries everywhere, is anyone surprised it was a Sonic game?
Didn't realise until far into this review that I don't actually know how it ended. I've never met someone who owns the game and all Let's Players I watched gave up on it. I'm not surprised she kissed him. I'm just not.
Hell of a review, I appreciate working on such a long video to fully explain why the memory of this game still has so much weight to it.
Time to grab some popcorn for the next 3 hours 🍿
A piss poor Final Fantasy game featuring Sonic characters.
Looks like none future ff13.
@@joshshrum2764 I'd say FF13 is more coherent though it most certainly has its own issues.
@@Vigriff FF13 is also more playable. And I say that as someone who absolutely hates every decision made about FF13 because there could have been a good game in there if they hadn't had a hard-on for "cinematic experiences" in the lead team.
Comparing FF13 to Sonic 2006 is like if you compared Sonic 1 to Somari.
No 💩 @Vigriff and @joshshrum2764 this is why sonic 06 never made it to pc port because 2 console ports are garbage 🗑
@@neoqwertysomari was pretty decent (though I may be blinded by nostalgia seeing as it was my first game)
No wonder it took so long. The patience to make a 3+ hour video of Sonic 06 would drive most men mad.
3:02:20 so the key to defeat the final boss is circle strafing, very 90's.
"sonic 06 isnt that ba-"
* sees video length *
"...maybe it is"
One hour per campaign so maybe not.
Knuckles voice: Oh no.
2:37:19
Woah nice catch!, how I never noticed that before?.
Can't believe did a twirl like a ballerina. 😂
IT'S... JUST... No use! Take this!
Any game with Silver in is an automatic 10/10
At least he had renaissance in recent years with sonic frontier, shadow generation, sonic movies, and idw comics
