@@thefifthpillar_ yeah, never start with a top club, the stress would be too much (some banter but that's genuine advice, look for small clubs with an open space and you'll gain popularity if you get promoted or something similar)
Lmao they are the king of easy and simple tactical introductions. There a wayyyy morr advanced tactical channels out there, they are just not that famous because they're not easy.
Tifo's videos are great. I see stuff in the matches that I didn't see before and has made it so much more interesting and entretaining to me. It's like learning to read. The thing I guess I find more mysterious is training. I think that's a subject Tifo might have not made too many videos about (I remember one about rondos a while ago). What happens in training? How are automatisms achieved in the training ground? I think since most training happens behind closed doors is something us fans really don't have a chance to learn about and it would be really interesting if Tifo made a couple of videos about it.
Some teams do upload a bit of their training process, so you can see how its done. Liverpool used to have a few videos of their counter-attacking training and their sessions that focus on transition. But basically, whatever they do in game they have already done a hundred times in training and most sessions resemble different parts of the game.
I swear, at least 80% of football pundits don't even know this stuff. All they say is "effort, guile, skillful little player, clinical finish", any fan could do as good a job as most of these pundits. I always appreciate a pundit who seems to actually know about tactics in a game. I remember Jose on Sky Sports talking about a "low block", very basic concept but you rarely get proper analysis.
Not everyone knew about this,Tifo you're doing wonderful job👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Can you do a video on L.Enrique's Barcelona tactics & how is it different with Pep's Barca 👍🏻
Nice video as always! Could you include specific plays from actual games for future tactical explanations? That would definetly be another bit more haptic. Thanks again, TIFO!
I like KDB picking up that RW inside space where he whips in balls. I remember Alexis and Ozil picking up positions in Wengers 3.4 3 and defenders couldn't handle it
The mention of RM and Spielverlagerung - mich love from Germany! When i read the video title, i was already wondering if the term half space is the word for word translation of Halbraum. Keep up the good content!
Really good video here guys. It’s great that you guys are able to dumb down these jargon into something everyone who doesn’t have a PhD in Football Manager can understand. I have a question though, what does “controlling the tempo” mean? I think I know what it means but I’m not sure.
Half Spaces means Underlapping Areas. LW and RW areas where they staying at Underlapping Areas are called Half Spaces so FullBacks move to Overlapping Areas. In Klopp's Tactical System, Mane and Salah used to play in Half spaces areas so they allow Trent and Robertson to move in Overlapping areas to create Chances
similarly, Firmino draws the CBs towards him and confuses them, leaving space for Mane and Salah to run in. If the CBs choose to sit off and mark Mane and Salah instead, it gives Firmino and the midfield a lot of time to pass, dribble and shopt
Hi! could you please make a comparison about how skillfully and physically more demanding modern football compared to football decades a go? can it be even more demanding in the future?
As a coach I do not use the term half space when coaching, in between the lines is the correct phrase to use. When players move inside to play in between the lines they become inside forwards. This can be found the 2 3 5 formation which most British teams used for a long time.
You're coaching your players the wrong terminology mate. Between the lines is the space between the backline and midfield, whilst the halfspace is the 2 and 4th channel going across the pitch. KDB plays in the halfspace, he certainly is not an inside forward.
Plz make a video on how arsenal can attack I'm bored of seeing it playing defensive in every match I'm a gunners fan and I would like to see them in a new form
I'm really not sure about this. The term half-space has bugged me for a while and seems to be getting more popular. It's odd because it's a term that's come from a direct translation when we already have terms like this in English. I also believe that 'between the lines' is horizontal and 'the channels' are vertical. Two terms to describe the lines of space between opposition positions. Half-space doesn't really work properly as it's said in English. What is the 'half'? And why are there only two? There are more than two vertical channels. Between defender and fullback, inside the wingback when using a back 3, between the two centre backs in a 4. The term 'half-space' is problematic because it's become popular and lots of people use the term in tactical analysis but I don't think there's an agreed definition. Who's to say this definition is correct? And even if it is, if lots of people are using the term, and will literally throw it out there when referencing any player in vertical space, surely it loses any specific meaning.
People in the comments act like these videos are very advanced and will make them a coach one day, it's not. Tifo only explains the basics, meant for people that don't know that much and can't handle the complicated tactical videos on youtube.
He already knows that, that's why they get so many pens, just get players to get infield centrally from about a 35° ish angle, where they will meet the center back in a great to tackle situation, so the defender will tackle but due to the player's speed, it will be late or too quick and a penalty!
Tifo, im interested in doing business with you guys. If you guys are interested, we can become business partners in a low league football club and bring it up using sensible transfers and coaching tactics?

I think the opposite 🙁 I love Tifo and watch every league game this year but I don’t notice any strategies in the games on tv or when I play
Omg i remember reading Rene Maric's article on the halfspace in spielverlagerung! it's still there now!

In PES terminology, the players who play between the lines = hole player and the ones playing in the half spaces = roaming flank

What happened to the term 'the hole'? I remember when Juninho signed for Middlesbrough, he would be referred to as playing 'in the hole'.
The hole still means between the lines, defense and midfield. It is all football terminology
