Vinegar Syndrome does the best transfers, period. It's like owning a pristine 35mm print. I wish the major studios would put as much effort into their releases.

I was so close to getting this, changed my mind last second. I remembered I haven't wanted to rewatch it in years finding the Blu-ray thrifting will be just fine I think.I do love the VSU sets though.

I'll be honest, I only grabbed this one to keep my VSU collection complete. It'll be a fun re-watch for the first time since childhood but I am not expecting to view it too many times.

Their website is down for the whole month. After big sale like Black Friday, they shut down the “vinegar syndrome” part of their site & only sell partner label movies so they can focus on shipping, it’s stupid lol

Yea I preordered Congo at the beginning of the month when they 1st announced it. The Keep on black Friday & they shipped them both together.
I like the 4k. The colors do pop but also look natural at the same time. Blu ray isnt really a faithful representation of the original source. They were always pushing colors and sharpening the image in the old blu's.
I like Congo but I don’t love it enough to upgrade.

What happened to the initial upload?
There was an error with some clips missing I didn’t catch in the export. I posted a photo on the community tab so you can see what I mean.

I cannot see a difference in most of the shots between the 4k and blu ray (except where there is a lot of red then it looks bad on 4k and awful on Blu) and when I look at the dvd I wonder why I buy blu rays and not dvd as I do not see anything that would make me enjoy the movie more on blu ray than dvd. I know some dvds are awful, they have really soft focus and look terrible on modern tvs but ones like this are fine. The blu ray and 4k also do something that bothers me a little, a lot of the shots have a blue tint to them and I am not sure about you but in my reality everything doesn't have a blue tint to them. Starting to question my blu ray purchases, I have the Blu Ray of this but I only watched it once when it was released and cannot remember how well it looked.
Does the blu-ray version have more special features than the dvd? They usually do.
@@damondelgado4603 My blu ray does not list any special features on it. It's a UK release. I don't know if I still have the dvd as I used to give away my dvds when replaced. Only recently started keeping them
@@damondelgado4603 Sorry thought |I had replied to this. Checked my Blu and there were no special features on it. Also had a look for my old dvd to see what was on that but I must have gave it away when I upgraded

I HIGHLY disagree. This is a fun film with ideas ahead of its time.
