That thing with all upgrades and RTT shouldn't be more than $20k.

Scale. If they could mass produce cost could be cut in half or more. That’s a challenge for a lot of overland specialty companies... it’s a beautiful product (perfect product?) but there’s too small a buying group so they can’t get to scale to make it accessible.
I would prefer this to another Porsche though.

I'm with you. Even if it was $15k that would still be a lot to spend compared to an actual camper. I know you can't take a camper off-road but I'll just have to use a tent.

That is way too much IMHO. 20 yes, maybe 25. And that’s without the original larger tent, and it still comes with AGM. There should be a pair of Lithium’s in there.

@@mikegibson1321 Sure you can! I take my pop-up off road. It doesn't rock crawl, and I'd never subject it to that, but it goes down rocky trails just fine. I just installed the same Cruisemaster CRS2 suspension kit that the Patriot X1 has. Glides over bumps like a dream now.👍 You can easily find popups for well under $10k.

I was thinking wow I would def spend 12-15k on that trailer, very nice. But then I looked it up and I don’t know if 30k+ is worth it. You could tow another JL behind the Ram for that much!
Yeah but then you couldn't pull up to an overland expo and brag about your super expensive trailer that nobody else has

This is the rig I was asking you about at Overland Expo East. Thanks so much, I really appreciate your insight. My Son still isn’t 100% convinced we should upgrade yet. He just loves that we have so much space we can just carry everything we might want. But I’m thinking taking on the more challenging trails would be worth it.
That’s it I am buying a welder and a box pan press. I know I can make that for way less. I’m in the wrong business and there will soon be competition on that over priced box with a fancy paint job.😎

Crazy trailer! LOOOVE that suspension. Not gonna buy one because I need more utility (open bed) in my trailer, but I will be lookin hard at what they did for suspension when I build mine. Truck is already getting bags and an air system...just need to plumb it back for the trailer.

Yeah I noticed some of the best camping gear has the 2 letters O & Z in the name. So far the only exceptions to OZ rule for Australian co. names has been 23Zero ( which still has an O & Z just not in back to back order and co. named Kick Ass. Which looks like they started out as a 24 volt system vehicle upgrade parts co. and then branched out into Outbacking/Overlanding camping shower water htg. units, shower tents etc.
@@paulelliott682 yeah 23zero has some good gear also (I use their 1100 bandit swag) and kickass is coming up with some good value products as well. It's all good news tourers/overlanders a there's more and more choice 👌

Hi from Canada, nice built, the good part is all the stuff stay in the trailer and like a fire truck (for example) all is prepared and waiting for the action, and on a nice weekend, hookup and go, no need to make sure all the items is in the Jeep or Truck

You either want to go camping or you don't. Lots of caravans on the market for hanging out at the camp ground. This is for exploration.

That snow storm you mentioned actually required my 4 wheel drive for the first time.
I had just bought it a few weeks prior.
Amazing product! But for that money I could get a second Jeep and load it up :). I know... its not the same. But we would need to taking some serious long trips to justify that one. Cant wait to see more about the trailer.

You should look into getting your hands on a meaner bean to review! they look really cool.
I guessing those hatches must seal up super good, or all that gear and drawer slides(greased bearings) would be darn dusty. That is mighty impressive. All the bells and whistles ! 👍
Those vibration latches, as simple as they look, work very well to seal things up tight and the tension can be adjusted very easily on the fly.
Your should check out Trailrax Rotopax mounts for the sides of the JL top. We have those, and they’re great!
It's cool and all, but I have relatively simple tastes. Got the old Raptor and just do a ground tent, grill, Fridge/Jackey/solar, a couple bins for cooking and sleeping gear, a Waterport and extra water. Good for a week in the middle of nowhere.

If you have the correct connectors. Always check hook ups before you go on a trip.

I do like the concept of these trailers! Very well thought out and looks like the build quality is superb. Not for me but I can see the draw to this style.

Patriot Campers are awesome. You Should keep it. Especially the red-on-red! 👍 The only issue I see is the area below your Jeep that doesn’t get protected from the cold dense air coming into the cooking area. Especially if ur in a snow covered area. Have you thought of a solution yet for that? Like a flap that buttons, velcros, sticks, bolts on, drops into or covers the open areas?

I get the trailer, and have been tempted for a simple one (needed storage, base camp set up, etc.) but cannot justify this pricing but get that there are those that go from $ to $$$ and you get what you pay for.
Great video - Imagine how many they could sell if they could do something about that price.
Patriot has sold thousands of these trailers over the last few years... the price is perfect imo. Small off road trailers are very expensive to build believe it or not. If you’re well researched on the subject of off road camping you would know that even the trailers that go above 30-35k are well worth the money. Most people are just upset they can’t afford it
Have you pulled this trailer with the JK since you added the 39s? Would be interesting to hear how an older Jeep with a lift and lager tires handles it, especially going uphill. Awesome content. Cool trailer.
Would love to see an older jeep try and tow something like that!! Might have to do a diesel swap to my XJ for that!
Just put 4.10 gears on it and you should be good!

My wife was part of the buying decision and decided on a Patriot Camper after seeing it in person at Exploration Outfitters 😀.
Another beautiful trailer from the Australians !!! it certainly looks excellent and spectacular, the awning that rises and covers at 270 degrees and the walls comfortable for the rain, excellent solution for the tires of the same size as the jeep, but one curiosity remained: listening to it I seemed to understand that the air suspensions are regulated by a compressor, is there also an external attachment or does it only work for the suspensions? Looking at the pcore videos I saw and understood why there are recovery points also behind the trailer and a hook I even saw a "portable" winch mounted ... Limited and red version why did Marco take your blue? now he will be jealous of the weber !!! Thanks for sharing the experiences and good hot showers !!!
The air compressor is only for the suspension with no external attachments although that would be a pretty slick feature 😀
AC generator relay of your battery of jeep. If a storm and cloudy its a better alternative then solar. And their needs to be a mega light for nights with sos switch. Its often difficult to reverse these trailers. And its often great practice is difficult circumstances.
I've been looking for something like those scissor jacks for the awning. Any chance you can share who makes them?

Great info. Helped us make the decision to order an X1N, which will arrive in a few months. I took note of the part of the video where you talk about camping in really cold temps. Do you have any tips or have you taken any steps to prevent the water tanks/lines/pump from freezing up in such conditions?
You're going to love the X1N! Unfortunately, living in Southern California, I don't have much advice about preventing things from freezing up in cold conditions. Safe travels!

What brand of hot water heater? Looking at some of the of the broll those tires looked stuffed on the trailer what does it have to stop them from rubbing? Not judging it still very capable just wonder what system thy have used to stop wheel travel
Patriot Campers typically use the Webasto Dual Top 6 integrated water/air heater.
I have a trailer ?. Have you ever seen the traction boards mounted on the roof of a flat top style camper instead of the top of the Bed Rack for MUCH easier availability ? So then your shelter options would be a GROUND LEVEL : tent, Shift Pod, Eskimo brand Ice fishing shelter for winter camping. Or a hard shell RTT up on the vehicle roof ( instead of the flat top trailer )
Was not expecting that price tag. But to be honest I'm not sure what i was expecting. It has more than most , But I like a dedicated closed n sleeping area in a smaller trailer. Not a huge tent fan anymore. The leveling system is a game changer, lots or power and the water capacity is sick ... shower more stinky ...
My ideal setup for my family would be this trailer, an Alpha rooftop tent with annex and a 270 degree awning. However, this price is just crazy. I understand they are well built, but the manufacturing process has to be incredibly inefficient to charge $40k for something this small. Hopefully there are enough people willing to pay that amount so that they can create a more efficient process and bring the price down. Definitely love the idea of a trailer that you can drop at base camp and explore.
Why do you not leave the sleeping bags in the rooftop tent does the tent not close with the bedding inside?
