That 270 degree awning was pretty nice with the outdoor kitchen. You did a great job describing the camper trailer Joe.
Thanks 👍
Posting my comment here after being just halfway through this presentation to say: Holy smokes! This has to be one of the most well-though-out, well designed, and well-built camp trailers/towable RV I have EVER seen. Good grief. This is remarkable. This is coming from one who has spent the last two years as a one-man show building his very own 5' X 10' cargo trailer camper conversion (using Timbren! suspension). If I had to do it all over again I'd simply travel to Alberta and make my purchase of an ARKTO in person. I am that much impressed by this. Well done, everyone! Very, very well done.
I will say that you definitely have a good way of representing and explaining a product. It is a fabulous camper for someone with deep pockets. The fact that you have to cook and do most of the things outside I wasn't expecting that steep of a price. Cheers.
That green wrap is sweet.
Yeah they did a good job with it
Of all the 'stats' you mentioned the most amazing was that you're 5'11" but you wear size 14 shoes! :)
Boy, that's an impressive camper.
Well…… out of everyone POSSIBLY who is or has watched this; I’m PROBABLY the ONLY person who is EXTREMELY interested in purchasing this camper !!! My only delima is i just started payments on a 2024 VW TAOS SEL 4MOTION when i moved back from Hawaii earlier this year ! I, personally have ZERO problems with this camper . Im 65 and a widow of 18 years in a couple months. I’d have to find a vehicle that can tow this and unfortunately the Taos cannot. (Joe knows I’d the camper all maxed out too). Well worth it when being able to go places and see things enjoying life . Just remember: TO EACH IS OWN. Thanks Joe for an excellent walk through. Hugs to Kait, Deb in Florida
You’re very welcome Deb! So if you look at the vehicle in this video I believe it’s a Taos. You should have 5k towing capacity. I’d suggest calling or emailing Arkto to get their opinion.
I wish it did yet not the Taos. The atlas tows yet I’m not sure how much.
Starlink is a gamechanger.
Uh. That sink faucet is something else.... aside from that, it looks like a great little vehicle. Seems very well made/constructed.
Wow! I was expecting $80,000 plus. It looks solid and well thought out, with quality materials. The best feature is the outdoor kitchen and wraparound awning.
I love this, the price is where I find most affordable and the features are spot on!! Nice, thoughtful build. Love the steel frame. Yup.
Looks well built and I like the features. It’s not for me but I like it. The price is ok. Considering the all metal and aluminum construction. 👍🏼
Very thoughtfully designed.
Keeping my eye on this unit along with others. we have to make a purchase in the near future. we have watched several videos on this trailer and none has shown what it looks like with the enclosed canopy feature deployed. For my wife, this is a very important option.
I'd suggest giving them a call or sending them an email as they can send you a photo or video of the enclosure.
The brethern from the north know how to build a camper!
This is still way practical than buying a house right now.
5:19 - that table extension should "flip" so you can open up and still have the dish rack and cup holder facing UP!
Wow! The price is just beyond.
That frame seemed very heavy duty & coated like it was should add many years to the life of this. Enjoyed the fact no wood was used too. Lot's of storage. Only negatives was the shower & kitchen being only outdoors, limits you in colder weather or heavy rain. Great job with the tour.
With the way it’s built, this is a generational camper - something you can pass on
Great video. Watching you explain the features is so relaxing, almost like therapy!! I wish there was an option to access the fridge indoors.
Thank you!
Of all the awesome walkthroughs I’ve seen you do in the nearly 8yrs I’ve been following you two, this is the VERY FIRST model, where the exterior turns me on much better, than the interior layout does lol - I overall like this rig very much though!
Always my best to ya 👍🏼👏🏼🖖🏼❤️
Yeah the outside is very cool and versatile
Very clever unit
Christine won at her guess of $50k. I had guessed $65k. Decent and like most, expensive. No camper is perfect and a negative to me would be you cannot sleep in the queen bed with the top down. Most of the time you would have the top up; however, there are advantages of the top being down like when you want to grab a few hours of sleep at that rest area, etc.
Considering it only takes about a minute to put the top up and take it down, it’s simple enough to do even for a quick stop but as you know there will always compromises
Love it hopefully it drops as years go by but I thought it fits my needs.
Impressive!!! Competitively priced.
Love it, wish I could afford one! Beautiful rig!
That price is crazy.
Crazy in what sense? Cheap or expensive?
@@charron1expensive, $72,000 is a huuuge price for something like this. As an Albertan I’d love to support a local company - the problem is… my money is just as valuable as theirs and this is way above market price
@@losungen9862 what would be the fair price?
You’re paying for the construction on this thing. You can definitely find something cheaper but I am really impressed with how this thing is put together.
@@TwelveFeetTravels it costs considerably more then the brand new F150 I’d tow it with…
Are you saying its made so well it would outlast my 200,000km 10yr warranty doing the same mileage?
Speaking of warranty, does the warranty reflect how confident they are of its superior construction?
Love that it’s made in Canada!….. and all that storage!
The price is very comparable to similar offroad trailers! Just look at other overlanding campers, things get really crazy, really quickly! This is not a camper that can be compared to a highway princess that simply utilizes campgrounds located off a paved road. Lots of options out there for that style of camping. For offroad campers, this particular one checks all the boxes! Just like anything, take care of it, and it will last a long time!! Hard to compare an f150 or a nissan pickup to an offroad camp trailer...... I highly recommend seeing one in person! Cheers! Happy camping everyone!
Pretty impressive design! Maybe someday if/when we trade in the 5th wheel haha. - Shane
This wouldn’t certainly feel a lot different than the 5th wheel!
One thing I would do if I had this trailer is put some felt or something at the foot sides and head of the beds so that I dont touch bare walls because Id hate that when Im sleeping in it
52k is more than I expected.
As soon as I saw the E/W bed configuration I was done evaluating this as an option for us. Having to climb over your husband or wife to get up is just not something we're willing to put up with when there are many options out there that design the bed oriented N/S.
A 280 awning would be awesome on a CamperVan.👍🌻
What’s that wrap on toilet? It looks similar to the LEVEO dry toilet. The replacement cartridges (linings) can become costly on a monthly basis. However, the wrap on toilet looks like you can use small trash bags for lining. Is there a website to research this wrap on toilet in the trailer shown in this video?
One more thing, look forward to the day when all trailers and RVs come 4 season by default. 👍🌻
I don’t think you’d be able to use the big batwing awning on a van since it would be so high up, you’d have no way to deploy it since it’s all manual.
You can read all about the toilet in this article we posed: weretherussos.com/portable-camping-toilet/
I don’t think all RVs will ever come in 4 season by default. There’s a lot of extra cost and logistics that go into that and it’s not something most campers would use
Think big. Someone will always figure out a solution that is economical and practical! 😁👍🌻
Is the roof covered in solar panels?
I like the camper but would invest in a room enclosure to connect to the front of the camper - probably have to be custom. Its a basic camper with everything you actually need and the price is not bad
The room enclosure is an option you can add to this camper
So if it’s the middle of the night to access the fridge you have to go outside? I have never understood the whole outdoor kitchen and not have some access to the inside
It must be a EU - USA difference, but here in the EU under 5000 Lbs is not really considered 'lightweight'. Our caravan, which sleeps 6, weighs less than 2000 lbs.. But it looks cool, well suited for cold weather and way more environment-friendly than the movable houses you have that are called campers ;-).
EU caravans are just better overall! Anytime we see new, cool features, we know that it must be a European caravan. Not sure why US manufacturers can’t follow suit!
I'd be interested to see the model you're referring to? To sleep 6 and be less than 2000 lbs it must be made of feathers...can't imagine it can go anywhere offroad like this one. Since it's europe, it doesn't really need to. Slightly different than the vast natural areas of US/CA.
this is really nice. I wear size 15 shoes, and when I was your age, ;it was size 13, so you will gradually flatten out. and if you are like me, when you find something in your size, you buy it.
Oh my feet are flat - been that way since I was a little kid so I’m a 14 to stay
@@Weretherussos Joe, dont be too sure about that, as I still have my arch, but went from 12 to 13, to 14 to 15.
Oh trust me. I have flat feet and my size 14 hasn’t budged in the last 30 yrs
@@Weretherussos that is what I said good luck.
The perfect place to eat dinner and let the kiddos sleep is right on top the toilet? LOL
We love this layout and all the outdoor features. That awning is amazing. Very strange to us the AC unit is optional though, does that mean the Inverter+AC is a major price uptick?
Well a lot of people up north or on the coast don’t need AC the way we do in the Midwest and south - so you get a fan standard which, unless it’s super hot, works very well to keep the camper cool. That said, if you did want that as an upgrade, you’d have to contact them about what that pricing would be.
Seems it might make some sense to just get something like a Wave2 as one can just charge with the DC that way. Then again, you'd be adding something to your space.
It is well built! I have expensive taste, but i cant afford that
It’s very nice.. well engineered. I would like a larger fresh water tank. Do they make other models? Tandem axel?
No this is currently their only model
Construction is amazing. Price point is horrible. Gotta find some ways to bring the costs down without compromising on the quality and vision
Yeah, it would have to be made in Canada. In the US manufacturers aren't allowed to put locks on propane compartments. It's fine for consumers to do it afermarket, but manufacturers are prohibited from doing it..
Starting at 52k 😮 I know it’s top quality but 52k and I have to take a dump in a plastic bag!!!! Going 14:40 to be a very small market for this. If I had the cash and was in the market for something like this I’d buy this brand, no wood and built in Canada you can’t go wrong.
Great VIDEO! Where can I find your Racoon t-shirt with the socks and shoes on?
Thank YOU
Thank you! You can find the shirt here storytelleroverland.com/products/retro-raccoon-charcoal
I see a problem with the fridge being just electric. That is a big draw on your batteries. If the fridge was also propane, boondocking would be a lot easier. I’ve tried going off grid with an electric fridge. Not pretty. Had to run a generator a few hours a day.
I see your point but propane fridges do not react well to rough roads or being off-level. With the amount of battery power and solar this has, the 12v fridge wouldn't draw down your batteries much.
@@Weretherussos So the roof is covered in solar panels?
It can be - just depends on how you option it out. We had 320w of solar on our last rig and ran a 12v fridge, inverter for coffee maker, kettle, Instant Pot, charging laptops, etc and we could go indefinitely if there was good sun
At this price point you can buy two Indiana built rv trailers that should last at least 10 years each. As long as they are towed on pristine roads and maybe only take out a few times a year.
Starlink shows available everywhere in lower 48 states, Canada, and Alaska. Now more people will not be as afraid to travel north, etc since have internet everywhere in boonies minus tree obstrictions. Camper is nicely priced and is not made in China.
Yep we had friends using their Starlink in the northern reaches of Alaska with no problems
@@Weretherussos thinking now there will be more monetizing content creators headed to Alaska to do filming and uploading. Great thing for retired guys.gals looking to stay connected with family out in the woods while they are enjoying retirement for a few weeks in Alaska
Where’s the well built campers that Chinese export to Australian when you need them?
Very nice except for the $52k plus price and the 4600 lbs GVWR.
No C-Pap shelf on the bed 🤷♂️
$72g Canadian. Gorgeous but man...
Did he mention that this is a ‘small’ trailer?
Shower?
Yes outdoor shower. You can see it in the video at 03:38
I would order with 900 AH Lithium batteries and 3000 w inverters
I wouldn’t bother with the big inverter unless you were running something that required that much power - especially since the AC is 12v. It would just steal more energy from your battery system than a smaller more efficient inverter would
Yah, unfortunately at this price I’ll take a pass. I’ll get a Hiker Trailer and a gently used tow vehicle for less.
Prego mescuzi el 19 feeto
Wow. $60,000!!! Good luck selling these at THAT Price... yikes!
CANADA ✋️ 🇨🇦 🍁 ✋️ 🇨🇦 🍁 ✋️ 🇨🇦 🍁 LOVE'S U TRAILOR ✌️ ♥️ as OIL 🛢 RICH Alberta's ❤ i will keep my 🐎 🐴 Horse trailer 😀 living quarters 😀 ❤❤❤ paid cash 💸 💰 ❤ no debt bro ❤❤❤❤
Least favorite feature is the price. 😢
72k Canadian "ready to camp"
😂$😂$😂$😂 !!!
Pop top worthless in cold and wind. How you gonna sleep in queen with top not popped? Why not forged aluminum frame? Nice but none of this makes much real sense
Pop tops are fine in the cold and wind, especially when they’re insulated like this. We lived in a pop top for two years. Not a problem in the cold.
$52K for a pop-up? 😂
Way to expensive, WTF
Lots of poor people in the comments 😂
Nice like to shower practical more of our military guy version metal is going to get very cold in the weather but I'm a guy I don't care
but
Jaw-dropping price wow not a chance for 90.95 percent of the public can't pay...
I was thinking 27 or 32 at the max
People like me have to buy a replacement vehicle for my Ranger and the Rangers are out of control price wise as well they 35-50 k for a vehicle that's out of the question
So people like myself struggle which is the majority of the population and if you think you're going to get 50,000 except from a corporate executive other than that you're not going to sell
It's just crazy overpriced man sorry about that it's just the way it is the world realizes the effort you put into things -
But the world is inflated
80% - this price is 4 $8,000
Purchase price when the entire economy collapses due to the
digital dollar
Housing prices will go from $400,000 down to $80,000
These used units will go for 4 to 6 to 8,000
They'll have to sell them fast like hotcakes because the real price from a non inflated economy is about that time
So we all going to have to wait until the economy crashes before the prices will be reasonable
Unfortunate that you can’t run it in a stealth mode and not extend the roof. With the elevated bed style there’s no way it works.
$72,000 Canadian ($52K US) for a glorified pop-up trailer?
PASS!!!
☮
Insanely overpriced
But why must we _deploy_ everything, as opposed to opening, unfurling, unrolling, extend table legs, etc. 😃 Every time I heard the word _deploy_ I thought we were preparing for a military drill. 😉
What I got out of this video is that your 5’11” but wear a 14 sized shoe
Correct.
$72 000 for a single axel camping trailer. Are you fucking insane ?
“Throw your waste in the trash”?! 🤢
The add on draw bar is a big fail
80,000$ !!!
As a owner of an Arkto, we’ve found this camper to meet our needs and more. Exceptional quality, attention to detail and built to last. Well worth the money, especially as you compare to others in its class. Plus, customer service is second to none. You can’t go wrong with an Arkto.
Great to hear!
We are super interested in one (family of 3). What do you tow it with if you don't mind me asking?
Look these little teardrops and square sport campers are cool but SRP 52k is just plain stupid. You could get a beautiful fifth wheel camper with 1000% more room and options. Or a tag along camper. Just saying.
$52,000 for a overlanding and a cold weather worthy rig at that from our Northern Neighbor. Great camper.
We agree!
They need to start these videos with the price upfront. 52k 🤣
Damn, too much money.
Curb weight of 3,600 pounds for a 19'6" camping trailer is not my idea of lightweight. Neither are the 72,000 can$.
Watched this and figured, wow that's nice. I can imagine its expensive, but probably not unreasonable.... searched it up, 2025 pricing starts, and I'm not joking, at $72,000 CAD.
Never heard of this camper n i live in calgary lol. Looks very well thought out n made. Very cool. It looks like it would fit in a garage even? 🍻
If you had an 8’ tall door it would
Comparable to the Epik Scout from Ohio, USA...which is ~10,000USD LESS. I'm looking at both.
This is definitely NOT a four season camper! Who is going to stand outside to cook? I admit the outside ergonomics are AMAZING, but four the inconvenience of the outside kitchen, I think the price needs to be a bit lower. I also acknowledge the quality of the build but I just can’t see people spending this much.
Well good thing its cheaper in US dollars because I would not spend $72 grand on a camper that small
It's funny you can buy a brand new 2024 TRD 4Runner pro for 60k and you still got 10 grand to throw into camping supplies. It comes with heating, air conditioning four-wheel drive and built-in sound system! I wonder who would trade a brand new 4Runner for one of these outright?
Love this trailer, can’t stop watching the video.
Holy cow..That’s too high a price point for that product. Why’s it so expensive? Excellent presentation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Have you seen other units less expensive with same quality and build design.
ANYTHING remotely resembling this ARKTO in concept is priced $40K to $60K easy. If that's your price range, then THIS! is the one to get because you're getting TWICE the quality of anything else out there. This is a truly remarkable trailer.
How well does this do in the winter?
Nice but lofty in price.
This camper model, for those that love to 'camp' is a game changer. The outdoor cook area is fantastic. A little rain, who cares. Button it up at night and feel secure. Game changer.
Like so much about this camper. Quality looks very high. I’d much rather see a little less storage so the bed could be lowered. I’m fine in tight quarters, but like to be able to sit up in bed. If that was possible and the bed ran front-to-back this would be near perfect.
~52k USD. Yea, you'll have to add a bit more but that's not bad. Just need a gennie and small ac window unit or something and good to go.
Nice, 😂but uselessly expensive, rather built you're own than buy that, its cool though,
At 72,000 Canadian, not including extras, that’s more than a Chevy ZR2 or the new Tacoma off-road.
Awesome trailer and great demo Joe . Wish I was in the market . NJ
This rig checks all the boxes.
Yeah it’s an impressive overland camper
