I had a pop up trailer once. I dragged that thing all over into places you never thought it would go. Sold it, bought a travel trailer. Used and abused that for 15 years. Then, I sold it and went back to a tent. None of this matters at all. For some reason I just thought I’d post as I’m getting older I’m going more primitive instead of the other way around.
So glad you are enjoying the videos, just remember you don't need to spend a lot to have a memorable experience. Just figure out what you needs are along the way.
Great video. We've had an X3 for a couple years and still absolutely love it. One tip for you that I noticed. You need to fully raise then lock the awning into place. The awning provides rigidity for the tent and when the tent is set up properly the door zippers work better and the rain will drain without pooling. Thank you for your content as always.
I am from the UK and have watched every one of your shows from when you first started. Great family fun, I'm also ex military so understand your lifestyle.
Outstanding video! I’ve been wanting an X3 for a few years. By far, this is the best “real world” review I’ve seen so far. Looking forward to seeing more adventures in your X3!
Thank you! We really got to know it on this trip and there are few small things we'll be tweaking with our setup and gear storage next time. More adventures to come!
Hello Brad & Regina, We’ll as some have already said it’s an expensive undertaking. However, you’ll get a lot of use out of it because this is what you do… I’m a landscape photographer thus I have some expensive camera equipment. Yes an iPhone takes photos, but I can do it a lot better. It’s what I do… If I was in a situation where I traveled full time and lived on the road this would be perfect. In fact I’d love to have a setup such as yours, Jeep 392 X3 trailer the whole shebang… Brad I know you love your coffee. I’ve recently started BP medication thus I’ve avoided coffee for a month. This morning I made myself a pot but I’m limiting myself to a single cup a day. After a month without that single cup tastes so good… Safe travels and enjoy that new trailer
Olá sou Brasileiro e ficaria muito feliz se me ajudar com os detalhes do teu projeto sou engenheiro mecânico e vou construir o meu próprio trailer, um grande abraço
Hi Brad and Regina. You have an amazing camp trailer. I’m very happy for you both. I know you’ll have amazing times with your new camper and I’m looking forward to you sharing your experiences with your X3 Patriot Camper. 😊
Thanks Brad and Regina! I've been looking at the X3 online but seeing this I really want one now. Love the hot water and all the storage space. Another awesome video.
Hello Brad & Regina, Yes that’s an expensive trailer, but it’s what you do… I’ve got some expensive camera equipment because that’s what I do. I’d love to have a set up such as yours, especially if I traveled/lived full time on the road… Safe travels and enjoy that new trailer
This new trailer, that awesome place to camp, the beautiful Jeep, Regina always great, and you Brad, enjoying the adventure. Outstanding video and many thanks for sharing.
Man I thought that’s was your Jeep that passed me in Charleston Wv a couple of days ago but the gray trailer through me off. Y’all have a good trip and have loads of fun man. 73 Brother
This trailer is so cool! Your original patriot is what pushed me into looking for a small off road trailer for our own adventures. We ended up with a Bean Trailer and it’s been the best choice for us! Tons of great memories for our small family. Love the videos. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Brad and Regina for sharing your initial experience with the new X3. I sold my 2018 X1GT after 3 1/2 years and bought the X3 in April. Recently my wife Maureen and I attended the Keweenaw Overland Adventure Retreat in upper Michigan and had heavy rain and wind 3 0f the 4 days, and the X3 was a much improved experience over the X1GT. love this new X3
Brad a couple of tips.. there is a collapsible dish drainer works great to set right next to the sink you can store it on top of the stove. Remember to level the trailer and put the propane tanks away before driving off.
I'm in Western Australia and blown away by the overland vehicles and trailers. They are everywhere. I see one or two in a weekend in SoCal. I saw about 200 in a single day.
The new trailer looks nice. To me a camp setup and tear down time of 10 minutes or less is good. Again, those Patriot campers are nice, but oh boy are they expensive.
Yes it is a lot of money, but if I had the money I'd have one and traveling like this. I'm so happy that they are able to do this and share it with the rest of us. Keep the great videos coming!
Love your content! You're the best! This is my obligatory content to improve your results in the UA-cam algorithm. :) I am working on getting my spouse ready for a transition to a FULLY-mobile lifestyle. you've been an inspiration to me. ❤
That thing is really cool. I'm guessing the sleeping area is on the side that opens up where the ladder is? Maybe I missed you say that but if you spend as much time as you do on the road and off grid this thing is a must!
Hey Brad and Regina, I was a watching a video on Light Bright Nation page. He has the Bronco Rapter and does some really cool testing of it in Moab I believe. Also, has a really nice Jeep too that I think you'd like. Wait until you see what all they do with the Bronco Rapter. Yikes. Lol. Thought you might injoy there video.
Brad, my jaw just dropped...I'm not kidding. My wife and I just got back from a 5,200 mile trip in our brand new X3, in white. To funny. PS if your battery sensor goes wacky and your Red Vision does not display battery status or charging status...I have a few tricks 😉
I think we just have a bad plug connector where the battery sensor plugs into the bottom of the charger (under your inverter). Ray Plunkett is working with redarc for us. Yes sir, we had a great time, almost decided to go to Expo East but over 3 weeks on the road decided not to. Looked like a great time, wish we had went. Good luck with it. PS my wife Nan says "look, we keep our starlink on a home depot/husky box as well 😄
Awesome video as always! The Mrs and I are almost able to do some of these types of adventures. We got her a Willys extreme recon. We have been doing small camping in the back of a Nissan Frontier bed. Slowly getting set for better set ups.
You're making my mistake 😂 she said breakfast is ready. Honor the meal and take a break right away. Have breakfast together. Pause work and enjoy the most important. You two. When you are so passionate about what you do, it takes on personal space. Love your contents.
I remember the first 4X4 trailer I ever saw. Back in the early 90's. My friends Highly Modified 2 door CJ7. A converted WWII Jeep military trailer. A $30,000 jeep was a bad ass jeep back then... Times have changed. Another friend in the mid 2000's bought a pop up camper trailer on a 4X4 axle/suspension. Coleman on steroids. He towed it behind his early Jeep JK Rubicon. Times have changed. These camper/trailer options continue to get better,
Are they really “better”? Most people drive their Rubicon to campgrounds on paved roads not realizing that a Sport with AT’s due to it having a LSD is actually “better” in that situation because unless you have time to stop and lock a Rubicon’s rear differential is open. That means your highly capable off roader could leave you in the bar ditch on the side of the paved road well before you ever get to drive it off road. No salesman is going to tell you that; but I think influencers should. I love Brads “show” but it’s a show. An enlisted guy in San Diego without outside money isn’t living like this; unless he got there 50 years ago when housing was normally priced. In my practice I see drugs, alcohol and family failure because people can’t “live the dream” despite hard work. Well the reality is we have a military recruitment crisis while everyone is driving vehicles with “1941” pasted in them!
That trailer has more storage than my class B RV. I built an over trailer with RTT, HotTap, 270 awning, large storage box and I'd say I've got close to 20K just in parts. Add in the labor and more features and the total custom build and $58K is definitely a fair price. By all means go to your garage and build one.
Liked the video and great camping site. Love the big fridge. Most rigs of similar size comes with a 40lt fridge at best. I don't remember the channel but saw a group of guys in an expedition to Alaska with that trailer. Awesome. Can you try to get on your hands an Ember ROK Micro Overlander for a few weeks and review it after camping with it several times? Lance had an overlanding prototype a year and a half ago. The model name was the Enduro. Don't know if it is in production yet, but the two things I like about it are it has a full functioning wet bathroom and you can access the fridge from inside. Therefore a snack or cold drink in the middle of the night or on rainy day wasn't a problem. Given both are hard shell, in a rainy day or after a long travel, you don't have to set a tent. Just open the door, and move a few cushions to make the bed.
My 3.6L JKUR was telling me "Please don't make me pull that!". We live in Colorado and have had several off-road trailers. Finally kept a 5' Ruger trailer and mounted a RTT on it. Still have to be patient going up the mountain passes. If only I had the 392..... :)
Great job! I really learned a lot from your experience & efficiency!! Thank you. It is really helping me make some better decision on my trailer options!!
This trailer is so cool, tons of storage, my only problem would be remembering where what's hidden. Have a great adventure with this awesome trailer ;)
A trailer like this is not for everyone, but if you will be doing full time travel or spending several weeks or months out of the year on the trails like we do, it is a great option.
Hello. I stumbled across your Chanel. And would love to suggest that you switch from diesel to kerosene it burns a lot better, I sell those heater for highway truck application and they are constantly coming in for repairs. Diesel has to many additives in it and will eventually plug up your burner tube. Which in Canada can be as high as $200 to $300 to replace. I also loved the walk through and looking forward to more vids.
The jet stairs are neat, but when I look at that trailer, all I can see is how easy it would be for a bear to get inside to get the food it can smell. Fridge accessible inside, food accessible inside, and nothing but a canvas door to stop the animals. At least with ground tent or an RTT you are separated from your food storage.
😂At first I thought there was some type of wild animal moving around at night while you were filming, until I realized Matt had brought Oakley with him.
We love our X3. We bought one after seeing this video! Love your channel so thank you for the content. Question, what is the paper towel holder and trash bag holder you have in this video?
What a great tour and review of the new trailer. And what an incredible trailer it is. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. (As a videographer/cinematographer, I must admit your videos look great. Extremely high production values. WTG Brad.)
Thank you for your video. The trailer is perfect for back wood traveling. Not sure if my wife will agree. But I would love to be an off road chef like Marco .
Brad saw the X3 at Expo West and definitely liked the expandable roof. Your trailer color doesn’t match now 😂 On a serious note consider the partner stove if it fits, I’m surprised for the price they have a basic stove setup vs. when exploring tear drop options how many nice stove setups were out there.
HI BRAD & REGINA 👋 THE TRAILER LOOKS REALLY NICE WITH A LOT OF FEATURES ! LOVE THE COLOR & SPACE FOR EVERYTHING & EXTRAS . GORGEOUS WEATHER SCENERY COLORS VIEWS BEAUTY LANDSCAPE CAMPSITES ! COOL TRAIL WITH WATER 💧 CROSSINGS DEPENDING UPON THE WEATHER , RAIN 🌧 NEAR BY . HOPE YOU BOTH & FRIENDS AT ARRINGTON , VIRGINIA OVERLAND EXPO EAST HAVE A GREAT TIME PLUS MAKING NEW FRIENDS TOO . WISH I'VE COULD OF GONE BUT THINGS DIDN'T HAPPEN THE WAY I WAS HOPING ! THE CHOW / FOOD WAS LOOKING SO GOOD 👍 BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 THANK YOU 🙏 NICE 👀 ING MATT TOO ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 HOPE YOU HAVE A SAFE TRIP BACK HOME 🏡 TOO !
Nice adventure, for $20 I can buy a 12 pack and sit on my rear and let my arteries harden and badmouth everything folks do on UA-cam. Jealousy is an ugly thing. After working hard, raising kids and saving for a rainy day spend some of your hard earned money on what you want. Enjoy life and ignore the haters. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Underrated comment. 👍👏👏 Do what makes you happy. Life's ours to live our own way. I appreciate all sorts of content on UA-cam because most of the time it's inspirational and gives me ideas for my own adventures. Keep it up Brad!
That is a really neat new rig! Congrats! Have you considered an off-road teardrop? The hard sides seem like they would provide an advantage in nasty weather. It was great to hear what you like about the X3. I’d be interested to hear your opinion compared to other designs as well Keep up the great work!
I think I'm leaning toward an off-road teardrop. I like the idea of hard walls. I wouldn't have to worry about tent set and break down nor drying out the tent after getting wet. Also I could easily control the climate in the tear drop and not worry about the elements. A tear drop, for me , is the way to go. Also, boondocking is way more inconspicuous in a tear- drop.
I love this channel, thanks for the great video. I've been looking at getting one of these. Soooo much storage. Do you know the weight rating on the bed?
I see on your set up section that Patriot still haven't sorted out the ladder length, which props the bed up on an angle unless the ground is dead flat.
Love love love that trailer WOW
Breakfast is getting cold as the camera runs. That's commitment!
LOL! She was rushing me!
Simply the most enjoyable off road channel on youtube!
You guys are hurting my pocketbook with these awesome ideas! I find myself watching hours of your adventures getting ideas.
So glad you are enjoying the videos, just remember you don't need to spend a lot to have a memorable experience. Just figure out what you needs are along the way.
The X3 is just soooo nice. I've been drooling over it for a year now. Congrats! 🙌
Thanks man!
Great video. We've had an X3 for a couple years and still absolutely love it. One tip for you that I noticed. You need to fully raise then lock the awning into place. You can tell how excited Brad is by his voice
Nice rig Brad glad to see you living your dream.
Thank you, we are blessed to be able to travel to these places for sure.

Two of my favorite channels in one video! Love it
Always great hanging out with Matt!
The subtle yup when your wife said 'you could cook more' .. priceless
Hi Brad and Regina. You have an amazing camp trailer. I’m very happy for you both. I know you’ll have amazing times with your new camper and I’m looking forward to you sharing your experiences with your X3 Patriot Camper. 😊
Awesome trailer indeed and it was really cool to see the collab. Loved the backdrop of the overnight camp. The Ozarks have some beautiful views.
Loving the music this video. Thanks for the Adventure!
Thanks Brad and Regina! I've been looking at the X3 online but seeing this I really want one now. Love the hot water and all the storage space. Another awesome video.
Brad, the X3 is off the Hook! Congratulations on getting it, Thks for the real time/uses tour.
Hello Brad & Regina,

I’ve got some expensive camera equipment because that’s what I do. I’d love to have a set up such as yours, especially if I traveled/lived full time on the road…
Safe travels and enjoy that new trailer
Great review of the X3 Brad. With Regina now joining you, it was the right time to upgrade. And you know what they say, happy wife is a happy life.
This new trailer, that awesome place to camp, the beautiful Jeep, Regina always great, and you Brad, enjoying the adventure. Outstanding video and many thanks for sharing.
Great video!! And that trailer is the major Swiss army knife of trailers. The folks who designed it thought of everything.
best jeep people always making my day seeing theses jeep in love ! with your videos great job
Man I thought that’s was your Jeep that passed me in Charleston Wv a couple of days ago but the gray trailer through me off. Y’all have a good trip and have loads of fun man. 73 Brother
That drive through WV with the fall leaves starting to change was so beautiful!!!
To quote Joker “Where does he get all those wonderful toys?” 😂
Love the adventure videos! It’s good to see you make it to the Midwest.
We are making plans to head out there again, I need to explore more of the Ozark!
Super, nice Rig!
Wow! Kitchen on the wheels))) Super!
Another excellent video from Brad & Regina.
When I'll be retired this trailcamper is for me, thank U so much for your sharing 👍👍

Love the trailer, especially the stairs for getting in and out. RTT doesn't work for older knees but this has both. Worth the cost for that feature!
The new trailer looks nice. To me a camp setup and tear down time of 10 minutes or less is good. Again, those Patriot campers are nice, but oh boy are they expensive.

SWEET...nice rig has some "bells & whistles" can't beat that that's what I call roughing it 😆😅🤠👍
Nice rig! Well laid out.
Thank you, I think they really did a great job with this small package.
I would love to see this new trailer in matching color of the Jeep. That would look awesome.
Hey Brad and Regina, I was a watching a video on Light Bright Nation page. He has the Bronco Rapter and does some really cool testing of it in Moab I believe. It is nice that if one wakes up early they slide out the side an use the stairs and not wake the other hopefully.
God bless you ways friend 👍🥇💪🇺🇸🤝
Loving the trailer. We love our OGT expedition 2.0 and will never go back to tenting or RTT.
There is nothing like chilimac out on the trail. The best MRE you can ask for.
Brad, my jaw just dropped...I'm not kidding. My wife and I just got back from a 5,200 mile trip in our brand new X3, in white. To funny. PS if your battery sensor goes wacky and your Red Vision does not display battery status or charging status...I have a few tricks 😉

Great features and looks like it can go the distance with tons of comfort. Thriving not surviving!
Saw you at Arrington VA. but you had a bunch of people around. Love that trailer 😊

Thank you! And I did put the camera down shortly after that!
I remember the first
4X4 trailer I ever saw.

In my practice I see drugs, alcohol and family failure because people can’t “live the dream” despite hard work. Well the reality is we have a military recruitment crisis while everyone is driving vehicles with “1941” pasted in them!
I really wanted an X3, but had a hard time seeing one in person. We went with a Mission Overland Summit and couldn't be happier.
Watching this from my 23Zero in the Ozarks!
Thanks for the great . . . up-close footage; just awesome! We visited Palo Duro in November; amazing place!
Merus is awesome!

I love Regina!
Congrats on the new camper! That's one awesome piece of equipment. Have fun-
Thank you, we think it's going to suit us well for a long time to come.
Спасибо за видео.Отличный прицеп для путешествий и отдыха на природе
Awesome trailer, thanks for showing us the tour. It’s awesome to see different setups!
surprise trailer. I hope you enjoy it a lot and have a lot of adventure. Greetings from Costa Rica
Great job! I really learned a lot from your experience & efficiency!! Thank you. It is really helping me make some better decision on my trailer options!!
love the review of this trailer in your point of view as expected of your journeys..
Awesome rig! Wow, those things are pricey, you guys will get your use out of it for sure, can't wait to see more videos with you enjoying it.
I have flexiride suspension on my overland trailer and works well.
Nice trailer! Retirement is wonderful, isn't it? Have a great safe trip.
This trailer is so cool, tons of storage, my only problem would be remembering where what's hidden. Have a great adventure with this awesome trailer ;)
8:31 would be the perfect time for Regina to practice backing up the trailer.
nice trlr but at $55k+, that is a big pill to swallow.
A trailer like this is not for everyone, but if you will be doing full time travel or spending several weeks or months out of the year on the trails like we do, it is a great option.
Yep. And some people have 2 Million dollar motor coaches.
Work hard, collect a lot of $ (fun coupons) and live your best life!

@@smokeGR14 and some people mind their business about how others spend their own money.

Curious about your plans for the PowerWagon?? I love that rig!
Macaroni just like my mum used to make :D Patriot campers very nice buy boy are they expensive, even here in Australia where they are made.
I picked my X3 up from EO a few days after you got yours. There were at least two X3's in the Ozarks in October!
We love our X3. We bought one after seeing this video! Love your channel so thank you for the content. Question, what is the paper towel holder and trash bag holder you have in this video?
Justin makes a awesome product 👍👍
What a great tour and review of the new trailer. And what an incredible trailer it is. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. (As a videographer/cinematographer, I must admit your videos look great. Extremely high production values. WTG Brad.)
NICE.... thanks for sharing, be safe.
nice layout and the chili mac looked fabulouse
Always love it when she cooks up chili Mac on cold night.
too bad you guys aren't coming through KY, would love to say hello in person, maybe next time. Love the vids, safe travels
We drove through on our way home, but we were a little short on time. Daniel Boone National Forest is on my bucket list!
@@TrailRecon DB is awesome especially this time of year as the foliage changes colors. The drought hasnt helped but still pretty. Be safe you two
Thank you for your video. The trailer is perfect for back wood traveling. Not sure if my wife will agree. But I would love to be an off road chef like Marco .
Nice What happened to the Dodge with the pop-up camper? Us, we just purchased a 2013 5th wheel, 31 foot. We do a different kind of overlanding.....!
Brad saw the X3 at Expo West and definitely liked the expandable roof.
Your trailer color doesn’t match now 😂
On a serious note consider the partner stove if it fits, I’m surprised for the price they have a basic stove setup vs. when exploring tear drop options how many nice stove setups were out there.
I admit I'll miss the red matching trailer, but at leas it's still TrailRecon colors.. Red and Silver!
A couple TrailRecon stickers on the trailer should do the trick. 😁👍
@@TrailRecon maybe just add a simple red trail recon on it to tie in the colors a little.

Thank you! 🤗
Underrated comment. 👍👏👏
Do what makes you happy. Life's ours to live our own way. I appreciate all sorts of content on UA-cam because most of the time it's inspirational and gives me ideas for my own adventures. Keep it up Brad!
Awesome cool 🤘👍❤❤❤
That is a really neat new rig! Congrats!
Have you considered an off-road teardrop? The hard sides seem like they would provide an advantage in nasty weather. It was great to hear what you like about the X3. I’d be interested to hear your opinion compared to other designs as well
Keep up the great work!
Y’all need to come to the Smokies! See Cades Cove
Oh ya, one of these days for sure!
Thanks for the review on this trailer camper. I am looking into options now. This helps
I love this channel, thanks for the great video. I've been looking at getting one of these. Soooo much storage. Do you know the weight rating on the bed?
I see on your set up section that Patriot still haven't sorted out the ladder length, which props the bed up on an angle unless the ground is dead flat.
