It's possible to proc her OUT of a missed attack animation and allow her to immediately do a move (including waterfowl) that would have normally not happened if she was phased due to the proc. I had that happen twice when doing this. It also enables her to trade a hit with you even if you proc Bleed or Frost on her since it will no longer phase her. Since she also can't phase due to a Riposte, you can't buff/heal up as quickly while she stands back up since you have to knock her out of negative HP. Keep some throwing knives or Briar Gloves handy to hit her out of negative HP if it happens. Run away and buff/heal if you need to while she's getting up from a Riposte and then just pop a throwing knife.
So she basically now has access to the negative health glitch the invincible AFK farmers were using, despite the fact that FromSoft considered that glitch bad enough to patch in this minimal patch? Yeah, makes total sense.
I am glad I finally got Latenna......EASY to get and you get a free Dragon Smithing Stone for just playing through the game...no special fight or jumping down somewhere .....I cant believe I never got her until like 4 days ago
I enjoyed her small quest, fun lore and great rewards. Some people have trouble going through the big Mausoleum that rains magic. I run into it and quit out of the game before the magic hits the ground. You can run under him after you load back in. You can even quit out of the game if you get hit during the knockdown animation.
Honestly, I feel like they should make her immune to frost at this rate, or at least make her immune to status effects when she gets to a certain amount of health. I don't like not being able to get a really cool riposte kill in her first phase.
I dislike the concept of "She cannot be phased by Bleed, Frost, or Critical attacks." Like you said, it's quite satisfying to get that off cos it looks cool. It's weird to have to give her a poke while she's getting up from a Riposte because "Game Mechanics"? Personally, I think it sounds like some MMORPG raid boss mechanic to have a boss resist death by X and Y conditions. It doesn't really sound nice on paper.
This isn't new. It's been occuring before. I have a video showing me do a critical attack on her and instead of her entering phase two after reaching zero health, she continued fighting until I landed a regular hit.
Right, so that how they give the most bs boss with hyber-armor and one-button-kill skill even more durability against counter and status proc. Ya know, her freaking weaknesses? What's next? i £s Miyazaki gonna give the Fire Giant the ability to rip both of his legs out and then for every hit he heals back to full health. Or the Elden B*tch a fucking laser gun. Seriously though, patch 1.05 so far is fine to me. At least finding bells in NG+ is no longer an issue, some bugs are fixed, AOW are buffed a little. Overall. Not a bad patch for pve.
Man, I can get that Rahdan has high poise due to that freaking armor he is wearing. But Malenia? She wears freaking hyber armor under that skimpy outfit.
@@zeroakira584 She has a particular input read in which if you do a running attack at her, she does that forward slash which has hyperarmor. You can even force it by just running at her face first. It's a way to bait it for a parry.
Her phase 1 not dying from a riposte was in the game for a long time at this point. Hitting her while she is standing up from a riposte also doesn't phase her. Guess they just added "status procs" to the list of things that can't trigger her phase transition. Oh and she also immortal when in the air during the first scarlet aeonia right after the phase transition. Nice boss. Awesome game design. 😔
I figured the riposte not phasing her was unchanged, but I just showcased it since it was absurd that it doesn't phase her when she has literally 0HP. This doesn't make her any much harder than she normally is, but it's an odd fix to witness when it translates to, "Status ailments skip her? Let's just make them not work for Phasing."
I was just trying to kill her in my second save file... I am using Blaidds sword and giantsword apllying frost and at a certain point I was pretty sure she should go to second phase but she did not, thats why maybe LUL i got fucked btw

I'm aware of that, but an ailment proc not skipping her is new. That can turn out really bad since a bleed or frost proc resets her current animation.

The patch is fine for sure, it's just unfortunate I already ran through NG+7. I had to get the bells again anyway.
