It was pretty much the polar opposite of the Beast Machines toyline. The show models were so toy accurate that show Evac had the button than spun his rotors. And all visible robot parts on the toys were there in the show as well, which made one wonder how nobody thought things like a fire truck with giant fists for a bumper was at all suspicious.
@@TJOmega good to see you still replying to comments TJ. Thanks again for Demolishor. I'll have his review up soon. I have Galaxy Meteor and as much as I love Skywarp's colours, they aren't accurate for that version of Starscream...
I know the power frustration feeling. Last summer a wind storm knocked out my power and it took them a week to finally get it fixed. All the while every other house but mine and the two next to me towards the corner were powerless. I think they asuumed once the rest was on we were too. It was only after the 5th call they finally checked the branch line behind the house in the back alley. The irony being I called in the outage and told them I saw the transformer back there explode which then blew the rest of the block.
The original Starscream before he became giant. Yes, his Supreme Starscream form also came out in Japan, though it's just a Hasbro release imported and sold through Toys'R'Us, suspiciously not eHOBBY though.
as someone who had the supreme starscream i had no idea that the force chip thing worked like that. i was paying attention to his stomach guns expecting them to pop up
No. War Within was a comic book series released in the early 2000's by a Dreamwave Comics (before it went bankrupt) that took place on Cybertron. tfwiki.net/wiki/War_Within_(comic). The series that you are thinking of in which the seekers transformed into biplanes is actually called Hearts of Steel. tfwiki.net/wiki/Hearts_of_Steel. War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron are part of the Aligned Continuity family, whereas War Within and both versions of Hearts of Steel are part of the continuity family known as G1.
Another Transformer with a similar gimmick I believe is ROTF Incinerator, a lever on his tail section can spin both of his rotor blades/hands at the same time, even in robot mode where his arms are fully articulated, even more so than this toy
Funny enough it was that top 10 of the decade video that got me trying to find this or some version of the mold, and you are right....it is not easy to find on the aftermarket for anything close to decent priced. I did finally manage to find the universe Dirge recolor of it, which feels like the legs don't want to ratchet straight up/down anymore so he's always a little bowlegged. I'd also oddly gotten the supreme sized remold for an even better price around the same time, don't feel it's as bad as lot of people make it out to be. Not quite Unicron or Primus levels but still a fun big jet to have and see the differences between the two.
Accurate? Yeah...it still took until Galaxy Meteor for any plastic representation of GF Starscream to have cartoon accurate navy blue rather than that Shadow the Hedgehog off-black Takara and Hasbro used...
Universe 2.0 had a DIrge redeco of this figure that goes for cheap. It was in the two pack with deluxe Roadbuster which was a redeco of Cybertron Defense Hot Shot. Through the magic of Ebay, I found myself with this figure's gun and missile from purchasing a random parts and weapons lot. At first I thought it was for "Thrust" until I seen the colors didn't match that version. It just makes me wonder whatever happened to the actual figure the gun and missile once belonged to. And while this video reminded me that I wanted Galaxy Meteor, especially with that price drop, I preordered it before I finished the video. Seriously though, that initial price was way too high. At first I was going to wait until it went on clearance, like most third party figures tend to do lately, but then it got cancelled. When it came back I was happy but the price was still a turn off. Now it's a more manageable price and I was gonna wait until the price came down more until I realized that it might sell out quickly from having a more limited run and have sky-high prices later.
Also I noticed Plastic Addict has been dead for a little while so if you don't mind I have some suggestions if you're looking to get back to the series: ROTF Arcee Beast Machines Nightscream anything BTR MP-05 Megatron? ROTF Leader Megatron (even if the only bad thing is the arms) Maybe some bad Beast .ars figures? Like the giraffe shell former? Aramada Scavenger moar Beast Machines Pretty much any other figure that thought "no legs" was cool Legion Upscale Smokescreen and finally.... Aramada Optimus Prime. The big one. The one that used to be the main villain of your show when it had a plot thing going on.
Hear me out here. I remember in the opening of the 86 movie, it showed a planet populated with robotic people including children. So maybe Cybertronian children can't transform and have to ride in the cockpits of older ones.
That was Lithone, a different race. Season 3 of the original cartoon had several robot species that weren't related to Transformers. While there are young Transformers, no actual children have ever been apart of any canon.
I have the Dirge version of this mould. It's decent, but I think that the WFC Deluxe was a better take on this type of design. Never liked the feet on this; they don't want to come apart when transforming into robot mode.
The black on this Starscream is not accurate at all. Sure, it's not Beast Machines Silverbolt inaccurate, but let's just say Maketoys Galaxy Meteor is the one true Cybertron Starscream. Above all the articulation and everything, it has the right colour: a dark inky blue somewhere between Infinity War Iron Spider's legs and the Navy Ranger from Ninja Storm...
Doesn't the Starscream from the Transformers Cinematic Universe have beefier proportions than the Cybertron/ Galaxy Force look for the Starscream from the Unicron Trilogy?
I love how show accurate the Cybertron era toys were.
Jinx Jade i've heard that in order to make the show they designed the toys first to use the toy models as the character models in the cartoon
Jinx Jade they actually transformed accurately to their animation models
It was pretty much the polar opposite of the Beast Machines toyline. The show models were so toy accurate that show Evac had the button than spun his rotors. And all visible robot parts on the toys were there in the show as well, which made one wonder how nobody thought things like a fire truck with giant fists for a bumper was at all suspicious.
Strange to hear TJ encourage people to buy a 3rd party product.
this isn't a third party product
Cadetdude And you clearly didn't watch until the end of the video.
Show us your "perfect" transformers toy. With color, articulation, alt mode, and robot mode.
A random elite MP-10?
MP Soundwave?
Galaxy Meteor. Accept. No. Substitutes
How about g1 Kup?
We have Legacy United Starscream new mold
Now your wish has come true TJ. Not only has Galaxy Meteor been released in Skywarp colours, but also as Thundercracker!
I've only seen samples, nothing available to buy.
@@TJOmega good to see you still replying to comments TJ. Thanks again for Demolishor. I'll have his review up soon. I have Galaxy Meteor and as much as I love Skywarp's colours, they aren't accurate for that version of Starscream...
my personal headcanon for cockpits: its a second face of sorts
Oh look, it's the incarnation of starscream that somehow ended up becoming planet size.
Jetfire48 i always thought that was pretty stupid
Shattered Glass Starscream? Pffffffffft! Have you seen the prices that thing goes for?
An hour later his electricity is broken again
I wish they'd fixmy wifi
Nice review TJ, good to see you back making vids again.
poor starscream finally he is buff and cant even flex xD
I mean if you factor in minicons it makes perfect sense to have a human sized cockpit
I know the power frustration feeling. Last summer a wind storm knocked out my power and it took them a week to finally get it fixed. I always snickered at this design's robot mode. Talking about a cockpit...
There's a Dirge repaint of this mold to. Not sure how much it goes for but it looks good enough to be worth tracking down
as someone who had the supreme starscream i had no idea that the force chip thing worked like that. i was paying attention to his stomach guns expecting them to pop up
I think this mold is better at the smaller scale. Good review.
It only just occurred to me, but if they painted up the giant one in shattered glass colors it would be *SUPREME* starcream
Just remembered: TJ reviewed the Legends version for one of the Toycembers.
Update: It was Toycember 2
i thought the war within Starscream and other seekers was a biplane? and it was War for and fall of Cybertron seekers

I really hate to say it, but in this instance it actually becomes a "cock"pit.
I'll see myself out now.
Gotta say, dat gimmick blew my mind. Just how the heck does it work that you put a chip in the back, and somehow blades of both arms pop out?
yeah its impressive but that doesn't matter if you cant use the arms for anything
I always assume whenever a cybertronian vehicle/decepticon has a cockpit, its for a minicon.

You should get the third party version
I got lucky and found him for only $20 a few years ago. He was only missing his gun (Which I don't care for anyway).
Accurate? Yeah...it still took until Galaxy Meteor for any plastic representation of GF Starscream to have cartoon accurate navy blue rather than that Shadow the Hedgehog off-black Takara and Hasbro used...
Lmao I’m tempted to review him now since I now own this particular Screamer.
3:20 It's a leftover from when the Quintessons enslaved them, this has been established cannon in most continuities since the early 2010's.
I could swear you already reviewed this guy
Spike Prime you might be thinking of his ten best figures of the decade video
Good review. I would get this if the Supreme wasn't so much cheaper.
I did a double take when I found this in an antique store.
It's for mini-cons of course! They are human sized as shown in the tv shows.
I've already got it ordered
He has a cockpit so he can hold hostages
same thing happen to me in miami...took 9 days for us to get power again then 2 days later it went out cuz FPL did a bad job on the wires.

You should check out the Third party Galaxy Meteor figure
I think the cockpit would be for small Decepticons.
Also I noticed Plastic Addict has been dead for a little while so if you don't mind I have some suggestions if you're looking to get back to the series:
ROTF Arcee
Beast Machines Nightscream
anything BTR
MP-05 Megatron?
ROTF Leader Megatron (even if the only bad thing is the arms)
Maybe some bad Beast .ars figures? Like the giraffe shell former?
Aramada Scavenger
moar Beast Machines
Pretty much any other figure that thought "no legs" was cool
Legion Upscale Smokescreen
and finally....
Aramada Optimus Prime.
The big one.
The one that used to be the main villain of your show when it had a plot thing going on.
Then they made potp Starscream who had been taking Kartmans Beef Cake. With Battlefield Earth alien boots.

I'm aware that it was a different planet. (Admittedly I couldn't remember the name.) I was using it as a theoretic example.
I had the Thrust Repaint and regret trading it away
I have the Dirge version of this mould. It's decent, but I think that the WFC Deluxe was a better take on this type of design. Never liked the feet on this; they don't want to come apart when transforming into robot mode.
theres a universe dirge mold of this too
Tj, what do yo think about the Maketoys MTRM-10 Galaxy Meteor ?
+1
Quite random Random Review request, but, do you have anything related to Vocaloid?
I had the durge repaint
Did you mean dirge? Also there was the two pack version with vector prime
Was the Vector Prime in that 2-pack the tan version?
@@dragonranger8456 no it’s more of a crimson color
We barely got a Cybertron 3rd party to begin with, doubt we're getting repaints.
i'm surprised this was not a consideration for plastic addict since both its arms are crippled by an intrusive gimmick which are pure evil
No on-screen transformation and no swivel talk.
i have one scince i was 4 today it is deystroyed missing wing and tailwing and arm
pshhhh, the cockpit might be for Minicons not humans, Nebulans, whatever human sized alien race.
The black on this Starscream is not accurate at all. Sure, it's not Beast Machines Silverbolt inaccurate, but let's just say Maketoys Galaxy Meteor is the one true Cybertron Starscream. Will u ever review third party combiner
his wallet can't handle it
I envy the fact the Japanese got this beauty
Doesn't the Starscream from the Transformers Cinematic Universe have beefier proportions than the Cybertron/ Galaxy Force look for the Starscream from the Unicron Trilogy?
Not really. Bay Starscream is very wide but super lanky.
Still don't know why was so much toy with visible head syndrome in the Unicron trilogy.
voyager class starscream
I have the dirge repaint.
My starsceam is a repaint of that
I'm not gonna say where but MISB for 60
Could you review an Animated Movieverse figure.
Minnycon
*gasp* a complex gimmick that isn't shit
