A Starscream To Rival The Siege Mould??? | #transformers Legacy United Cybertron Starscream
I tested the SS86 Starscream crown on this figure, it doesn't fit on the figure in both modes. The length of the crown rubs against the shoulder pads in vehicle mode and it doesn't sit very well. In robot mode, the crown is too loose to fit on his head (tips forward or backward), but if you have some poster putty you might be able to have it sit still for photos. I'd wait for an accessory kit to be made by the community so that it sits snug on his head.
VIP: (Very Important Post)
I have my SS86 Starscream and I can tell that the cown on mine fits on mine, and how stupid can you be? Starscream's crown fits on the head in robot mode only, from what I heard on the Legacy Cybertron figure, it fits loosely, but it can go on there, it doesn't fit on Siege Starscream, so that's a bust, on Thrilling 30 Starscream, it's too big.
I saw on prime vs primes post he had it on
@@Chase9.0 I need to reiterate that you'll need poster putty inside the crown to make it fit on Cybertron Starscream's head, you can see PvP do this and yet it still sits unevenly on the head.
@@michaelclickard6264 Be civil, please.
Amazing, a Transformer Jet that doesn’t look like there’s a humanoid body hanging under it.
Cybertron hit different
To be fair Cybertron robots can use anti-grav tech to hover in the air. It would be like having a ship with two types of engine: the thrusters and boosters, along with antigravity to float in place when on planets with high gravity. They are not actually the things they transform into. They are disguised as those things. So when they transform into planes or terrestial vehicles (in the case of autobots) they can do things beyond a regular car or truck. It was obvious in the cartoon when a human enters the vehicle the dashboard is high tech (80s version of futuristic) and not typical earth tech. Is it wasteful of energon to use it? Yes so having airframes to fly without it can conserve energy and make you fly with less drag. This is not a mech show. In mech shows they are expected to look realistic for human tech standards. (see the jets in SDF Macross as an example: they have very little drag in earth atmosphere but also have space combat capability)
You just got to remember that if Transformers can fly to different planets and star systems in ships, then a good portion of the planets may be barren with no atmosphere (no air) so how they are shaped in ship mode makes little difference. It is only habitable planets (ones with humans that rely on oxygen to live) where they have to make their alt modes more sleek and aerodynamic. Once you understand the reason they can have bulges under their ships modes you will not be bothered by that if you take into account that Cybertronian technology is ahead of human tech.
In G1 we (humans) didn't have futuristic antigravity stuff but the cybertronians did have that. When the 1986 movie came out, that is when you saw antigravity hoverboards (humans obviously become more futuristic by that time) and such. So whenever people complain about "jets" (they are spacecraft not jets) they forget the alt modes are not actually the vehicles that they are disguised to look like. They are robots disguised as the vehicles and can do things the vehicle cannot do.
A f-15 alt mode star scream doesn't need a landing strip to land, he can transform into robot form and just hover. An alt mode Optimus Prime is not limited to what a truck can do. He is more like an armored vehicle that can drive at high speed because he is made of cybertronian metals.
1. alt mode is a disguise to mimmick things, it's not the actual thing it mimmicks. Just like the Cyborg Assassin in "The Terminator" movie is not a humanoid man despite trying to look like human. He is a robot disguised as human only. He can do stuff humans can't.
2. technology in cybertron is much further along than our own. (being shot by guns doesn't end you because of shielding technology to help take the damage. A lot of fights happen at close range to maximise the damage of ranged weapons and conserve energy by use of melee weapons. Think of the post apoc movie Mad MAx where guns are actually rare. But if you shoot a bullet you may not find new ones so you got to rely a lot on close combat if ammo is scarce. Same can be said in g1 Transformers where they have shortages of energon and need to conserve it)
3. flight is different since not all planets have atmosphere: you need AIR for an aircraft like a fighter jet to work. Without air holding you up you won't get much control with the rudders and fins on a regular earth plane therefore cybtertronian "jets" rely on more than just the aerodynamic surfaces to manuever. (thrusters, antigravity tech, and other stuff)
People forget that Transformers is not just a kids cartoon but it was a genuine attempt to tell a sci-fi story about robots with spirits inside them. When they start looking like mechs I am turned off by that. I watch gundam and like mecha shows, but I don't want Transformers to lose the personality of the original show and comic where they are actually a character with regular personality but with robotic bodies. (like robocop or the cyborg characters in Ghost in the Shell)
Yeah, now it looks like humanoid robot doing yoga (not complaining btw)
@@UToobUsername01 Yeah, but a lot of Transformers toys that turn into jets just look like a guy laying underneath a jet, with almost no integration of parts between modes.
@@HBRice17 I can't agree with that. With the head and fists hiding away and the leg panels opening up to tab together, there are no visible robot only parts in jet mode that make it look like a humanoid robot at all.
Fun TF movie fact:
Revenge of the fallen has two versions (or that I know of) one version in the demolisher chase scene, when Ironhide breaks his wheel he groans and in the other he doesn't, then in the forest battle, when prime is flipping starscream either you see Sam Jump over the log before he boots starscream or starscream gets booted the we see starscream rolling in pain.
Along with the scene of Sam jumping the log, when sam moves from behind the log it skips to prime getting slam dunked by Megatron with the other version joined with the starscream role we see prime getting jumped then slam dunked by shaq o tron (Can't remember which two versions of the demolisher chase and forest jumping go with each other)
Idk why there are two versions of the movie but it's probably due to the weird editing before the movie release making two versions. (If he finds out about this, theorymus might make a vid on it if he already hasn't)
It's probably the imax version because I remember seeing that starscream scene on the walmart exclusive bluray
@@chrismaturino7938 ok thanks
My question is, which one was shown in theaters?
@firebrony101 The imax version contained a few extra scenes, like the extended forest fight. I believe there was an exclusive Walmart dvd version that had these scenes as well.
@@dantekenway7900 well we better get searching then
This is weirdly a lot like the original Japanese voyager with how things work on it. Great video!
It's actually not. I own all three scales of the original Cybertron Starscream (Legends, Voyager, and Supreme) and they all transform basically the same way with one minor change as it scales up or down - the Supreme Class version has a crotch flap that folds up that the others don't, and the Legends one doesn't have the nosecone fold into the feet. The Supreme class figure is also the only one with guns that flip up, and has a blaster with a spring-loaded missile that the others lack. The Voyager comes with a hand-held blaster, but it looks totally different from either this one or the Supreme figure's. The important thing is that it still transforms almost the same way, meaning this version is almost as different from the original Voyager figure as it is from the original Supreme Class.
Only annoyance i have with this figure are his belly guns don't rotate up.
He did it several times in the show, like one memorable moment when Red Alert confronted him in a forest at night. Starscream, with arms folded like a boss, just flipped up those guns and shot Red.
Fairly sure that was also missing on the original '05 voyager. They didn't add that bit of articulation until the Supreme class version.
@@Andyjoe522 Correct and it annoyed me then too.
Wasn't a forest, was a junkyard after Ransack and Crumplezone tried to frag him.
@@Jetblast01 In fairness i've not seen the show in well over a decade :P
@@fishpopIt's worth a rewatch, you can do it free on UA-cam.
"Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good and let me be judged accordingly. The rest is silence." ~ Dinobot
I'm super excited for this and the silverbolt. My only complaint on starscream aside from looking up, I wish the guns that are on his chest on the sides of the cockpit would rotate.
A nice additional point is that because the wing sections are separate components, you can take them off his shoulders and peg them onto his forearms to give him better movement for his swords.
This Starscream just oozes menace. This is an EVIL toy, and I love it. This isn't "waaah I wanna lead the Decepticons I wanna I wanna", and it's not "I'm tired of Megatron pushing me around and this human I made friends with thinks I deserve better", this is "this guy's so sick he should be in the DJD" Starscream.
So far the Deluxes haven't wowed me this year, but the Voyagers are knocking it out of the park.
If Armada Starscream is a Linkin Park AMV, then Cybertron Starscream is an American Head Charge or Spineshank AMV!!!
In my opinion the Armada was way more accurate in every way to the animation render. This one is missing a bunch of paint on the legs, the cockpit is now stubby instead of being sleek, the arm pads are wrong, the null rays are way too short, and the wrong shape at the ends. Plus there are no Decepticon logos on the wings...
I love Cybertron Starscream that's why I'm very critical about this guy.
This one’s from the comics
The only difference was that, in Armada, everything was hand-drawn, while in Energon and Cybertron, the Transformers were CG-animated.
This guy just feels right. I got him today and everything moves, and i found myself audibly making comments like "Oh he has butterfly joints!" Or "Wow, if those feet are flat he can hit any pose!" Or "He has waist rotation?" To "Seriously, his gun is molded like his launcher but has a barrel so it looks like an actual gun?" Just superior attention to detail. Love it.
Energon stars ‘please and thank you’ 😂 I’m hoping 🤞
Did anyone else have the really big version of this guy growing up? This makes me so nostalgic so excited to get the new one.
I do hope they’ll do Energon starscream, I would love to be able to have the trio of originals with a trio of new ones
I've always really liked this look for Starscream, so I'm glad that this figure of his is a great one. I guess you could cheat the head movement by using the transformation joint, that way he could look up.
I almost had a heart attack lol, I was like “stolen toys they dominate and destroy anything they touch!”
We NEED Energon Starscream! 🗣️
It really is such a shame they didn't choose to include nipple articulation to the modern update. Like... So many toys of this guy just don't do that and part of me was hoping like, hey, modern transformers have so much articulation these days, maybe this is the time?
easily my favorite figure I own, only complaints is the chest cannons don't flip up, and his head can't look up, maybe the shoulder gun/sword things could angle outward, like not including the double shoulder joint. even still, Hasbro absolutely cooked with this guy.
I had the same issue as you did with the chest tab being really large and sounding really really bad when you untab it, as well as a mis-molded socket for his right shoulder, so I kind of have to splay his right shoulder outwards a bit to close the two halves of his shoulder joint around the mushroom peg... otherwise it falls out like ridiculously easy...
9:33 I felt the same way. It feels like a nit pick considering what all we get with this figure but yay...kinda wised the guns could pivot up and down. looking forward to getting my own copy of this and I hope Hasbro makes an Energon Starscream for a set
I can’t wait to get my copy of this, it’ll be fun to compare to the Maketoys Galaxy Meteor, and MUCH simpler to transform I bet
This is one of the best figures I've ever bought!
The paint, design, transformation, it's phenomenal!
I think it lack of paint, and for me the transformation is... mmmeehh but the design and transformation is fire
Legacy is the most disorganized line that has ever been made. We got Armada characters with no mini-cons, A cybetron figure with no cyber key and uncompatible key-holes, Animated characters are not Animated-like, and Prime's style is Subprime too.
this is a good figure. i shaved down the clip on his back. also the Coronation Screamer crown is too big for his head. you can get it to stay but it is really loose. great review!
I still have that giant Starscream.
Pre-ordered and waiting!
OUR WALLETS ARE IN DANGER.
He said "eh" and mentioned Tim Horton's. Now all he has to say is "aboot" and refer to the Red/Green Show and I can die happy!
3:56 Starscream doesn't need to look up. He only looks down on others.
Im so glad i watched this review because i didnt even know the shoulders have a hinge 😭😭
Still want an ironhide review
Witch one are you talking about
@@Jazmission masterpiece
@@sidewalkfish9256 oh ok
I like the Gamer Edition figure, but this for me will be the best Stascream this year. That Toy Guy is lucky to get one this quick. There arent any specialty toy shops close to where i live. Good review of the figure too.
I've been wanting this version of starscream forever! Not because I'm a fan of the anime trilogy, but because I'm a fan of the "War Within" comic series.
well its an animal it has way more surface area because of its weird shape so its more solid to fit its weird shape. starscreams got straight edges so hes got less surface area.
Alright about the plastic. The density is unimportant unless it pertains to QC issues.
You’re went full Chefatron and you never go full Chefatron
Thank god they didn’t screw up the shoulder articulation. That was my only complaint with the original.
This is netter than the siege mold by quite a bit. Better articulation, better paint, better transformation and aesthetics.
Thank you the Japanese team for making this guy 😂
I was worried I'd have to watch a stolen toy review from Crimevscrime
What are you talking about? Starscreams out all over now
Hate him
Lmao legit laughed my ass off at that.
Someone needs to make one of those Uno draw 25 memes with PvP that's just "Explain why you never show the boxes or draw 25"
I love this comment! That guy always gets on my nerves. Just straight up steals then tries to sell them back to his fans for way more. Dude knows that if he doesn't get the figures early no one would watch his bland boring reviews.
"Leprosy" United Cybertron Starscream😂😅
Drives me nuts that his chest guns dont move
But…can he pooth?
Yes he can
@@ThatToyGuy is there any way I can fix an issue with his right arm falling off?
Let's be real we'll get a titan class of starscream with same mold
...no we won't?? The titan class figure is already confirmed for this year
I bought mine earlier today off of BBTS. Will be coming in some point next week.
This figure may just be what I need to bust. I grew up with Cybertron and its what got me into the franchise. It looks AMAZING and I want him so bad
My only complaints are that it doesn't include the crown (and the SS 86 version doesn't fit) and the complete lack of red on his legs. I'll definitely be getting some paint markers to touch him up once I get my copy.
Wild how UT Starscream is polarized yet this one is the most Chad and successful out of them all. Because yeah, obtaining powers from god is higher on the list than the underbase or dropping Megatron in space. Because at least you survived in another dimension to keep on trying to conquer.
My only problem I have with my copy is that his arm pops off of the mushroom peg
its by far better than the siege mould, this one doesn't have its entire altmode as a backpack that can be removed by a single peg/pin
All I need to know is of theres a 5mm slot for null rays. N why have the last two Starscreams I've bought not have null rays. One had a freakin hammer! WTF?
I picked this up last week and damn they hit it outta the park!👍
So happy that he's a thing now
With a Cyber Planet Key
Looks cool and all, but I'm dissapointed we don't get articulated torso guns...
Wouldn't have missed them at all if they weren't there, but they are so it's though not to notice
I have the original giant cybertron starscream!
He can do anything you can do but better 😂😅
huh, idk if its because of the old supreme class or the design detail, I thought Cybertron starscream was huge
He was, for a time. When he got his hands on the Omega Lock, he got his crown and grew to be a giant even for Transformers standards. Then for one episode some time after that, he took some of Primus’s power and grew to planet size, at least till Primus defeated him in said episode.
Hence the Supreme class toy: big enough to represent his giant size compared to the other toys, and Primus was also produced in the Supreme class for kids to replay that fight for themselves.
Also of note: before using the Omega Lock, Screamer’s Cyber Key activated two blades like the Legacy toy reproduces; when he grows giant his left blade becomes a cannon, and iirc the Supreme class toy has this cannon too.
Man, i remember when voyagers were half the size of the titans. Seeing new transformers and seeing how expensive they are relative to size is always kind of a bummer. I know, size isn't everything Lego has the same problem. Size and complexity are two opposing factors, unfortunately, as far as price goes.
Voyagers were never half the size of titans I have a bunch of old voyagers💀
i have most of wave 2. including gears. at least i have the ones i was going to buy. The distribution for hasbro is insane. and i wasn't going to buy this. i don't need ANOTHER star scream. but dangit fine. you twisted my arm. I'll buy it. lol
they better do justice to the other cybertron characters, cybertron and beast machines are the shows that brought me into transformers and I don't want to be disappointed from them failing to make a character correctly
Well, there is that new Core Class _Beast Machines_ Cheetor that was revealed.
@@LiamDyC fair to be honest I don't like what they did to cheetor but I'm hoping they make black arachnia, silver bollt, noble, nightscream and botanica
and for the villains tankor, jetsorm, thrust, strike and obsidian I am excited to see
@@KingFuriousFire
Noble, I do feel he needs a new update since the only toy of him released was the Beast Changer figure back in the Beast Machines line, but I heard the figure wasn't very good.
Just like Noble, Tankor also needs a new update since the last toy of him released was back in Thrilling 30.
Jetstorm and Thrust, and in particular Obsidian and Strika, also need a new update.
@@LiamDyC I can't wait to see what the come up with
I would like actual cyberverse sized keys like how they were with og cybertron figs
Im getting on my birthday supreme king starscream and oh my I can't wait to see him this review has encouraged me to be happy 😁
Starscream makin a timmies run, eh?
After this I’m Starscreamed out for awhile.
Shame guns on the cockpit don't move, but still 10/10.
I hope they make a new Shattered Glass version with this mold.
Looks really nice, but I have the Voyager toy from Takara's Galaxy Force line and this doesn't really improve on that all that much.
1:13 Howling Meteor? The G1 one? Cuz iirc, Galaxy Meteor was the Cybertron one cuz Galaxy referred to Galaxy Force (The JP version of Cybertron)
I love that design.
Got mine at target
Titan size when? Seriously, would anyone be disappointed if Hasbro just made the exact same figure Titan sized? If they don't, I hope a KO company will do it.
I'd buy a titan sized one lol
Might have to pick this up! He looks great.
My main issue is the arms jsut dont fit well, espescially on mine, my shoulders on it are incredibly loose right out of the box, terrible 25$ spent
I've seen people say that this is the siege mold
Aaaaaaand bam he’s preordered
Amazing 😮
Hi void lol
Sup dude just noticed you now lmao
Hey, so im a bit to collecting these types of figures, and when i first took him out of the box his shoulder joints had no problem opening to the sides. I transformed him and kept him in jet mode for a couple of days, and i transformed him back today and all of a sudden theyre very stiff and they make a small noise, ( idont know how to drescribe it, its like theyre rubbing up in the wrong way or something) when theyre opening side to sode.
Like i said, i dont have much experience with such figures so is it something to worry about or can the joints like get stiff from being in jet mode for too long???
(They still move to the sides, i just sorta have to apply more force and like i said it makes that rubbing noise. I made sure i transformed him correctly.)
Edit: its also just the right arm, the left is fine, so its even stranger))
No. If they wanted to do that, they should have made the legs about 20% shorter, and the torso longer. As it is it's just off enough to hit the uncanny valley by comparison to the original, where the Siege seeker looked spot-on aside from the added gribbly surface detail.
Out of all the unicron trilogy starscreams cybertron is easily the closest to his G1 counterpart not just in desgin but personality and is by far a larger threat then him
Armada starscream is probably the most interesting take on him giving him a more sympathic role
And energon... while not good in english dub context in the orginal and sub its a clone with most of his memories gone so its not the orginal starscream from armada just a clone. Could've been interesting if the ghost of the actual armada starscream met his energon clone but nope
But back onto the subject of cybertron starscream again closest to his g1 personality and far more threating which if it was possible could be skybound starscream level of threating
*Starscream:* "Wha-? What's this? Where am I?"
*Megatron:* "You are in a void, a void of total darkness, absolute nothingness, where you belong. Are you afraid of the dark? Well, you should be, Starscream, because I'm in it. Don't you remember that you used to be one of my trusted commanders?"
*Starscream:* "No!" **starts blasting wildly**
*Megatron (continuing):* "Now, you're nothing. You don't even know your own name. You're just a prisoner of the darkness. Get used to your new home, because you'll be staying there for a very long time!"
*Starscream:* "STOP IT! Alpha Q, I have failed you. Forgive me."
@@LiamDyC that actually does add a level of depht to the energon/superlink starscream clone

*Megatron:* "So Alpha Q was behind all of this? I should've known. Oh, well, I'll deal with him soon enough, but for the time being, Starscream..."
