      This was great, thanks, been searching for "how to get rid of thread veins on legs" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Siyulianor Salient Supremacy - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good one off guide for discovering how to Getting Rid of varicose Veins without the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.

    I absolutely adore how you comment on self esteem with procedures. I am not ready for botox and fillers but I have been plagued by spider veins since I was 12 (tennis injury started it all). I will say the older I get the less I care but to say it doesn't bother me at all would be a lie. My dad (who is my family practitioner) always told me to look in the mirror and be grateful because I had clear skin and a pretty face---he might be biased ;). I am so blessed to have wonderful and encouraging parents. Keep up the awesome videos!

    I’m enjoying these videos. It’s nice to see a professional skin doctor that addresses the emotional impact of skin conditions and how it affects an individual - treating the whole person (mind and body) is so important. I have had a couple doctors that haven’t addressed or dismissed it when I mention the embarrassment of a skin condition called DSAP.

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  5 років тому

      Thanks! DSAP is very challenging to cope with for sure! Treatments aren't great and it is hard to camoflage. I wish we had a better understanding of this disease so we could develop rational therapies

    I had laser ablation done and as long as they give you enough anesthesia, you do not feel the laser. The painful part was the anesthesia injection. It burns for about 10 -15 seconds during the injection.
    Some insurances WILL cover varicose veins (not spider veins), because of the potential problems they can lead to. My insurance (GHI) covers it after testing to deternine the extent of the damage to a vein. I use heavy dishwashing gloves (I saw it in a youtube video) to help me put on compression stockings.

    dr. dray! i honestly don't know what i did before i found you, which was recently. your product suggestions have calmed my rosacea. i have two varicose veins in one leg, and although i'm hardly a vain person, they make me self-conscious. i live in l.a., so there are many vein treatment clinics and specialists. just when i think i'm ready to do something about them, i read a bad review and become terrified. there's talk of tremendous pain and how they'll return, worse! but quarantine is an ideal time to get this done, and i am a tough cookie. can you please hold my hand and tell me it's going to be OK? thanks!

Some compression boxes come with a plastic baglike sleeve to place over the foot for ease of application. It's worth the struggle though as it helps with swelling of the feet and circulation. There are compression stockings that are fairly easy to put on. People don’t need to buy the extremely tight ones. There are differently levels of compression for the stockings. People just need to figure out what’s best for them. I personally find them comfortable and love the squeeze from when I first put them on and the release from finally taking them off after 12 hours. It’s also pleasant to look down and not see swollen legs after working all night. They’re great for 8hr shifts too. You can find affordable stockings at Walmart that don’t have an intense squeeze.

    I find sclerotherapy to be very effective. Some of the medications have numbing in the mix with the "schlerazing" agent...hyper-pigmentation is like freckles which I already have. I find the saline solution doesn't have it. I have spider veins but no insufficiency. Thank you for the informative video.

      Okay..if you have RED facial veins and want them to disappear permanently? no joke..here's what you do..and trust me, I JUST DID THIS about an hour ago, and i feel stupid that I didn't try this before. I HAD HUGE VEINS ON MY NOSE AND CHEEKS, and they are GONE! Simply get these supplies: 1 candle..1 needle..1 mirror(preferably a magnified one)..and 1 lighter..(numbing cream optional-i used it, and it didn't make much of a difference, there's basically ZERO pain overall. Just feels like a thorn prick, if that... (clean area before 'treatment' with hot water rince on face..Set up the mirror on a table close by your face, so you can see the veins you want to get rid of. Light the candle and put the BLUNT end of the needle into the candle flame for about 10 seconds or so...find the vein you want to remove and tap that vein rather quickly so as not to leave a scar. . . . and watch the fucker disappear before your eyes. continue with other veins small or large until you're finished with the desired look. Be sure to clean your face before with a warm cloth to reveal all the veins(since hot/warm water dilates the veins so you can see them better), and afterwards, wash with cold water to get the little black marks off your skin. Most of my veins were 'zapped' IMMEDIATELY, and the few others will take a day or two to show, after the redness goes away from your 'treament'. Simple. Effective. Costs $0.00. THEND.

    I think my venous stasis was caused from an attack of midges while hiking years ago--they got under my socks (that's right where the bites and itchiness was, then a general redness, and that has remained, though looks a little different). Thank you for your work!

    Thanks! I have at times had to use them. Some diet changes though appears to have alleviated my issues but keep them on hand if needed. A bit of a pain to use but most helpful for sure. Agree, while finding inexpensive (but effective) options for you personal care is very rewarding, if anything from a lift, to fillers, to just spending a bit of money on working on an anti-aging regime with your dermatologist helps you be more productive in your work and enjoy social life more go for it :)

    I have had sclerotherapy as well as pulse dye laser and I think two of the toughest parts of this process for me were the initial ultrasound because it made me extremely nauseous and faint feeling. Which is apparently normal but for what ever reason I was not warned that it was a possibility. The other thing that really bothered me was when they drained the veins to inject the saline/detergent it didn't really hurt too bad but psychologically it bothered me. I still have some little spider veins that bother me but I think I am going to take a break and then go back because I am sure developing them is inevitable and I am sure I will have to continue this process through out my life if I want the spider veins gone. Mine aren't really that bad but I got the procedure done because I didn't like them. They made me insecure and feel like at 28 they were aging me. Something I found interesting with the pulse dye laser was my first session didn't hurt bad at all, I was able to speak through out it all but the 2nd session was a different story. It was much more painful and I kept telling the lady doing the procedure that I couldn't focus on what she was talking about. I think the fact that I have had 3 tattoos removed has helped prep me for that procedure. If you can sit through tattoo removal you can probably handle the laser treatment just fine.

    My problem is varicose veins. My ARNP told me about the surgery. ( I am putting that off as long as possible) He also suggested horse chestnut ( I don't see any change) and to wear compression leggings as they are easier to put on than the compression stockings and fashionable.Not as good as the stockings, but they truly help. It helps with the leg pain and I live in the leggings.

    I had Radiofrequency ablation treatment which is different from laser ablation. It is basically pain free. It was uncomfortable but not painful. The spot was sore for about 24 hours and tender for a week or so. The doctor was able to close the bad vein in my right leg and I didn't form any new knots since then (it has been 3 years). While at it, the doc stripped the vein around my knee which improved the look. My right leg is perfect. The problematic vein in my left leg, however, couldn't be closed all the way because it was too narrow. It still helped a bunch but I have some new knots forming. I am planning to check it out again and see what can be done. This procedure is not cosmetic. It was a treatment and was covered by insurance. I had a significant reduction in pain.

    Hello Dr dray!! Thaks for this video. I did sclerotherapy in my spider veins, but more spider veins appeared 1 week later, and I've read that it can occurs because of putting more pressure in some other spider veins. Did you know something about this? Is not matting, are just more spider veins and worst than the first ones.
    Another doubt is how long it takes the vein to dissappear, I mean, is is possible to see it worst the first days and little by little see them disappear?

    I had Sclerotherapy several times for varicose veins and spider veins. It was very effective for me. Varicose veins took two treatments and spider veins one treatment to completely remove all of them. There was no pain at all. Cost is much less then lasers. Wearing complexion stockings was uncomfortable. 3 days for 24 hours and 4 days only during the day. Get ones with no footing.

    If possible can you do a video on skin peels and which one are good for different skin tones? I'm Native American, olive skin tone, and would like to do a peel (or laser treatment) to help my skin texture and tone.
    I'd appreciate some great advice from a dermatologist 🖤

    My dermatologist only told me that I should wear compression socks after he saw my legs during an exam for an unrelated condition but didn’t really give me much more information about them. Lost my insurance so I can’t go back to him and ask for more info, so, this video is definitely useful. One question though… if I’m buying compression socks on Amazon, what do you advise I look for? Does the mmHg (I’m assuming that’s the amount of pressure?) matter? Most of the ones I’ve seen are 20-30 mmHg. Will that actually make a difference?

      Lori Kessler, hi, I had only one, lol. The Dr. Said my veins were not so big, one treatment will be enough but it didn't. Someone told me that my veins are dry and eventually they'll disappear, something that I don't believe because they still bothering me. I'm not going to try it again, for me the procedure was painful. Running 3x per week and having a healthy diet has helped me a lot to tackle the pain and keeping my veins less noticeable. Greetings from WA. State, Lori!😊

      Ines Perez yes, the same here, some of my veins were smaller than the needle so it was a challenge. I may try the compression socks to try and prevent more. I lift weights, but maybe more cardio would help 🤷‍♀️

    Hi Andrea, Congratulations for your 81K, I loved this video, it was very thorough and informative, varicose veins can become a disabling disease, not only a cosmetic issue, it's important to treat them in the early stages, according to a dear friend of mine, who is cardiovascular surgeon, the best stockings are the ones that go from feet to waist, the others from feet to calves aren't so good. Thank you.xoxo

      Maria C. Delgado Out of curiosity, how is it possible to pull a compression stocking all the way up to the waist. The thought reminds me of the days before jeans had any stretch of lying on my back and using a pair of pliars on newly washed cotton jeans to pull up the zipper. I was 13 at the time lol.

      Hi Marya, I used these kind of compressive stockings during my medical career, for years, mainly on medical guards, it's not easy to put them on, but they have some elasticity and come with very good instructions, so you can turn into an expert quickly.

    Thanks for the info! I always wondered about this, but never really looked into it. Growing up I played a lot of sports, went hiking, biking, did dance, etc. Mainly just do yoga and walking now, and I've noticed my veins getting more obvious over the years. I am fairly certain the main culprit is my genetics, and some of my previous jobs didn't help (though I still kinda moved around a lot lol). It's not really a big deal to me now at 37, but if I can help prevent it from getting worse that's cool! I've heard crossing our legs will also cause these veins?

    Imagine having them on your face and nose. I feel for women that have them on their legs but I honestly think they are not that bad. The ones I have under my nose were caused from having my nose broken a few times when I was young and dumb. They are really bright red. I would almost get them tattooed over but I was advised against it. I know that smoking ciggs makes them worse vitamin K2, horse chestnut extract, and grapeseeds extract makes them less visible for me and removes alot of the redness too.

    It's been such a treat to watch so many of your videos these last couple of weeks since I subscribed! And you've gone from 74 to 81 thousands subscribers in this short amount of time! Congratulations, you create such high-quality content and it shows!
    Could I bother you with a tretinoin-related question? I've started 0,025% tret about 5 weeks ago, did 1 use the first week, then 2 uses, and for the last 2 weeks I went to 3 uses. I've also incorporated Hada Labo Gokyujun Premium, which is hyaluronic acid basically. I wash face, moisturize (after watching a differin video of yours), wait for about 20-30 minutes, apply tret, wait another 30 min-1h and then go with the Hada Labo and moisturizer again. However, when I did this, I spread both all over the face, eye-lids, lips and the tret was foaming up a bit underneath. And then got flaky eye-lids and an annoying irritation around my lips (otherwise no irritation or dryness). I've been avoiding the eyes and lips since then, but for some reason the irritation around my lips doesn't want to go away and it flares up after each night of tret use.
    So I have 2 ideas, do you think they're worth trying? Either not apply anything after tret or leaving the tret on for a while and then rinsing whatever didn't absorb off and do the normal routine. Would it lose its effectiveness? What do you think?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  6 років тому +2

      yeah i put mositurizer on first, and you should not apply tretinoin to wet skin, nor should you apply it around the face; and if you have to "wipe off" excess" you are using too much! just a thin film from a pea sized amount

    • @andreeav.6554
      @andreeav.6554 6 років тому

      Dr Dray So you don’t re-apply moisturizer after the tretinoin, only before?
      I only apply a pea-size amount too, but after 30 min-1h I was going with hyaluronic acid and moisturizer again, and the very liquid HA somehow “dissolves” the white film the tret leaves after absorbing and spreads it around.

    I’ve had the sclerotherapy before & it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds! It’s a needle that is super small like a diabetic insulin syringe. I was able to tolerate the pain just fine, pain 1-2 for me personally. I did it once at age 25 and about to go for round 2 @ age 31. I have am a nurse and also have a significant family hx of spider veins. I had a good experience with it

      Coco Pops I have similar experience as Niki, pain maybe 1-2, more like a slight discomfort for me than pain. I had one procedure done, noticed only small improvement, so I'm not very happy with the result. You don't really feel the needle when it's inside. My dermatologist didn't send me to ultrasound before the treatment but I complained to my GP about 3 months later when I still feel some heaviness and discomfort in the leg where I got more injections. She sent me to get ultrasound done and everything turned to be ok. So I would recommend checking with your dermatologist if they include an ultrasound, saves some stress later.
