The Batman, a gritty, realistic thriller on the psychological torment of Bruce Wayne, starring Adam West and Burt Ward is the greatest movie EVER MADE.

To be fair, at least West and Ward have personality. Affleck and Cavel are just generic. They really should try something different for Affleck's batman, but so far, it's just going to be another crap dceu movie, just burried deep into the enormous shadow of the dark knight trilogy.

the DC animated movies are better than the live action counterparts because of how incharacter their animated versions are. like Bruce Timm's Batman mask of the phantasm.

I hated the Killing Joke movie. Bruce/Barbara kind of makes me a little grossed out since he's normally shown as quite close to Jim Gordon, and knew Barbara when she was a little kid. It fucked up the comic.
If anyone loves the suicide squad comics, Assault on Arkham is a great adaption. No shitty costumes or weird adaptions that aren't true to the character.

I don't mind CGI as long as I don't notice it too much. If it doesn't draw me out of the story, then it's ok. Same with practical effects. Either one can be amazing or terrible. As long as they feel natural, I can dig almost any effects.

Agreed, CGI isn't the cause of bad movies, lazy filmmaking is. Bad CGI is just a symptom of a much larger problem, but because it's the most visible aspect, it becomes the scapegoat.
I probably know tons of movies with great CGI. The problem is I can't list them.... because when the CGI is good and used well you don't realize it's CGI.

That whole thing about people "losing their shit" over Superman killing Zod in MoS is really just a strawman built up to discredit anyone who didn't like that movie, I've never seen anyone criticize it for Zod getting killed. I think people were more annoyed by Superman having no problem murdering thousands of innocent people for no reason.
Bat nipples just goes too far for some people I guess, plus the movie being shit doesn't help. It's just another way to rip on it.

Batman (1966) i feel totally did Batman justice. It's a smaller scale version of many of the comics from the 50's. Just like Batman '89. Just takes from different comic sources. You could argue Batman '89 is in fact the MOST faithful. It just doesn't take from any particular era and borrows from places through Batman's entire history.

Brooks Show aka No Bullshit was featured, this video came out when The Brooks Show was more focused on movie reviews. In recent years the brooks show has died and from the ashes was born the polarizing No Bullshit, covering sensitive topics and giving his strong opinions on them. Ralph likely cut the end in order to avoid backlash for featuring a guy who became controversial. Can't blame him really. Thankfully we didn't miss out on much, from what I can surmise the portion that was cut was only The Brooks Show and Ralph explaining that Batman and Robin has already been torn to shreds and thus they have nothing of value to contribute.

But as a representation of the character Batman, it's not really the best. I would fall to the lower half honestly. However it's still such an enjoyable movie and it helped return The Dark Knight to his roots, so I tip my hat to that.

Great look at the DC movies By the way, you found the score for Avengers Age of Ultron generic? That score, by the way, was done by Brian Tyler and Danny Elfman.
Danny Elfman who did the score for the 1989 Batman film. lol

    • @nicholasleclerc1583
      @nicholasleclerc1583 5 років тому +1

      The Articulating Anoraks Podcast
So it’s not generic because of what their composers have done in other movies that were great ?
And you got *_8_* , count them, *_EIGHT_* , likes for that reflexion. lol
Listen, Ralph listened to both movies, found one to be generic, the other to be good; so that means that Danny Elfman lost the part of his magic that Ralph likes after 15-ish years; _yeah, such an unbelievable possibility; such a hypocritical idiot, this Ralph dude..._

The Adam West Batman movie did meet the tone of the comics of that era. His comics were kinda goofy and outlandish. They were bright and often light hearted. It didn't take a serious tone until the 70s and into the 80s.

I guess all have been said about the last two "franchise killing" Batman movies of the late 90s. So just a little "hypocritical nitpicking" ;-)
The movie that's about Batman and Robin, how they came together and their relationship is obviously called... "Batman whatever".
And the perfect title for a movie that introduces Badgirl as a character is surely.... "Batman and Robin". Sounds logical ;-)

I'm sure someone down in the comments mentioned this, but a quick search revealed nothing: $50M in 1978 is $138M in 2015. That's the second most expensive film of all time up until that point, second only to Cleopatra.

15:32 the inaccuracies aren’t just that a character looked different, the main character wasn’t Batman but rather some murderous shell of the beautifully crafted character in the comic, the conflict is never “will Batman beat the Joker”, it’s will Batman stick to his code or will the villain make him break his code, that is what makes the Batman so intriguing and special to so many people

With regards to Superman IV and the boy writing a letter... that was a thing that actually happened occasionally in the 80s (I was born in the late 70s and grew up in the 80s, so I actually remember it).
Most famously, there was this young girl named Samantha Smith who wrote a letter to the leader of the Soviet Union asking him not to start a nuclear war. And he not only responded but he even invited her to go visit him. And she did. And then she died in an unrelated plane crash. But that's not the point, the point was that little kids writing letters to important people did actually yield results occasionally.
