- Big thanks to Mercedes Benz of Gilbert for letting me review the Brand new EQS. This car was cool to see up close and very comfortable to drive. I have driven many EV's and this was the most comfortable to get in and drive. It also has 350 miles of range which is great for their first mass produced EV.

I have owned my EQS for 2months love the car ….great driving car over 350 miles per charge
How do you charge at home? Do you need an electrician to set up a whole electric setup? I’m getting one soon but am confused.
@@steveclifford5227 you need to have 220 and plug you need an electrician… charge point is expensive but I think it is worth it…
Daniel Means By charge point, do you mean buying a Mercedes Wallbox, i think it’s around $1500? And also, in USA, all outlets are 110/120 so how would i get 220? I’m sorry if these questions are dumb.
@@steveclifford5227 you need an electrician for the install also need 50amp breaker … 1500 is about right for price for a charge point wall charger.. once it gets installed it is really easy

Solid review. Fit and finish on the Mercedes is off course top notch. Exciting to see all these new EV’s coming out.

0:38 common mistake. charging rate is kw, not kwh. thats capacity.
I think the EPA has to redesign their range test ASAP. Currently they offer 2 different cycles and allow manufactures to rate their own cars for any number at or under what the car achieved on the test. Instead, there should only be one test that all manufactures use and whatever the car achieves is what they should rate the range. Tesla likes to promise max possible range, other companies take the max possible range and reduce it 10 all the way to 20% in some cases and advertise that as their range.
Another very nice review of what would appear to be a high quality EV. You looked a little stressed while driving probably due to the high cost of the EV.
He drove a Model S Plaid, so I doubt this holds anything to that in performance or cost. More likely the threat of a good review from the dealership representative off camera ;)

We just had one of these come through the shop. Didn't get to test drive but we weren't thrilled with the look. Very nice entry into the EVs though! Thanks for showing it to us in detail.
The pop out in the rear seat is to hold a pen. If you push it again, 2 cup holders pop out.
So nice. Why would anyone buy a lucid when this exists on the lot in Gilbert right now ?

Cool car. Maybe I'll go check one out. A point about terminology though, a quantity of electricity would be energy, measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). The *rate* at which energy is dispensed is power. Electric power is usually measured in kilowatts (kW). So a battery holds a quantity of kWh, while the rate at which you can charge a battery would be measured in kW. Or, to put it in ICE terms, the amount of gasoline can be measured in kWh, but the rate you burn it (or put it in the tank) can be measured in kW.

I just watched the RS E-Tron GT video you did. When you said carmakers shouldn't release a car until range it about 300 miles, I couldn't help but think "unless the car is as sexy as the Audi."

Gotta have the hyperscreen. Nobody does a better interior than Mercedes.
The hyperscreen is way too overkill.
This is a real matter of taste it seems. Way too much going on inside that car already.

The driver lane assist distronic extended restart in stop and go traffic
(auto pilot) is better than Tesla in some ways... Very impressed so
far. Yes, I own one of these.... and traded my Model 3 performance for
it... And it even came with a steering wheel! The trolls whining about the exterior looks are the same puppets that
used to dis the Tesla model 3 by saying it looked like a Dodge Neon...

Once you go hyper screen you can't go back lol. The screen on here looks so small and incomplete compared to the 580 hyper screen.

Why is the miles range so low? In Europe they’re 450-480 miles range
but how the charging for the mercedes ev cars? telsa you can supercharge or home charging

I would but I'm not a tesla guy, heck I'm not even an mercedes guy but this eqs is the best EV I have seen.

Well there’s a speed limit for a reason. Tesla used the speed limit to give you the estimated miles per charge. Same thing with ICE cars, the more your flow it, with other conditions, you don’t get what you expect 😂
Great car. I do wonder why these legacy car manufacturers don't get together and invest in a (reliable) charging network. Most EV's are great now and batteries are only going to get better, but the charging network is what let's every EV down. Certainly in the UK, chargers are so hit and miss unless you have a Tesla .
Imagine pulling up in your EQS to the electrify America station outside of Walmart at 9:00 p.m. for a road trip 😂😂😂
Lol..... The charging infrastructure is actually growing in Germany for example they are even taking steps further to accommodate all EVs as possible.

tbh those graphic makes me think about like 80s,90s stuff. its just way more useless stuff there. For any software, the UI should be as much clean abd simple as possible instead of something like this. This isnt the future

Honestly I expected more from Mercedes. The only thing I like about this car is the interior materials. The performance, technology, price, and general appearance are a huge disappointment. So ugly.
Nonsense, vehicles aren't just about performance, its a mercedes, made to drive very comfortably way better than other vehicles, mercedes on the Autobahn in Germany are like private jets on wheels super fast and comfortable.
I've seen a German business that tested a tesla model s but electric simply doesn't cut it, he had to get a mercedes sclass diesel for constant road trips.

Cool to see more EVs coming out, but at a $100k+ price point, with less performance and charging than the MY, they still have a way to go. I do like some of the look of the exterior a bit, and the interior trim is a step up from the MY. However, WAAAAAAY too many buttons for my taste. Keep it simple.

You can't compare this car to a shit Tesla. This screams quality, proper QA, proper paint, quality driving etc.
Tesla's are like Fisher Price toys.

@@USNEM I agree this is way better than tesla. I never liked tesla though, but that's just me but this mercedes is the best EV yet I have seen and I'm not a mercedes guy either but I'm an honest guy and this vehicle is amazing especially with the hyper screen.
