- Watch this fantastic CGI short film about finding hope in the bleakest of moments. Two Worlds is a 3D animated short film by Andy Lefton that has evolved over a decade with production taking 5 years, when time permitted. Two Worlds is a story about two opposites coming together out of necessity. The story stays away from the quintessential element of "opposites attract". Having each character be a separate form of life, one being organic and the other mechanical helps drive the plot a bit more.

First off, thanks to CGBro's for posting this. Secondly, thank you all for such kind words! It so appreciated and am happy to have shared this with you. Maybe someone will pick it up as a feature length film :) As for people that dislike it, that's fine. The number of folks that have appreciate this out weigh the small group that have disliked. I absolutely love, love, love this little film - it's beautifully scripted and each time I've seen it, I pick up on something new. The two characters are perfectly imagined and the message of hope and cooperation resonates loudly during a time when we need it most on our little planet. Please, please, please can we have a sequel!!!! 😍
During this time, both in my personal life and in the world, this is a sweet message of surviving together no matter what world we come from.

In a life that is often unpleasant, (and such is the case for me at the moment) it is uplifting to find such little treasures once in a while. This, to me, is a simple message that there is always hope, even in the darkest of times, and I appreciate the work that has gone into this to create such a message.

I never comment because my English is poor. I saw this short film a year ago, and I came back to comment on it today, because this story and this short film shocked me for a year, I couldn't forget this year, it was so good, so I had to say something. Thank you for letting me see such a good short film.
This portrays the emotional juxtaposition within each person’s perception of reality.
Thats whole new world of cinema evolving. those tiny snippets steal the show. They got message, they got emotion and content.
I am just fond of them.

I am immensely grateful to the authors of this video because I had immediate fourth-degree contact with beings from another world and I know that what is shown on UA-cam is very close to reality.

Because they aren't controlled by corporations trying to make a product appeal to a mass amount of people.
One day, independent and amateur animation and CGI will start to topple Hollywood's monopoly. Individuals and small groups have the freedom to write and produce whatever they want and are passionate about.
Technology is gradually bridging the gap, giving individuals increasingly powerful and economical tools. Though difficult and rarely achieved, independent animation can garner success. Rooster Teeth is testament to this.
Hollywood's motivation is money, not telling a good story. Studio execs and investors are afraid to take risks on anything new. That's why so many films and shows are derivative, remakes, or based on bestselling novels, established franchises, and popular themes - because they think those more likely to sell. Also, genres like comedy, drama, reality tv and documentaries are, comparatively, many times cheaper to produce.
That describes many of the film flops of 2016. The public grows bored of inferior, cheap, predictable fare. And many can only stomach so much reality TV, comic book heroes, zombie apocalypse or time travel stuff before it becomes stale.
Consider, too, the growth of webcomics. Clearly, the public has a thirst for fresh, original stories and ideas. Sadly, the sudden drop in Google ad revenue several years ago slowed webcomic growth as many now rely on Patreon to keep going.
Similarly, I worry that the 2017 UA-cam Ad Boycott will slow the growth of high quality content. I've heard that video creators are seeing a decline in revenue and UA-cam is policing it over-zealously.

@Andy Lefton - this was your first short film??!!! That’s incredible. I know this may be many years later but for some strange reason it has only appeared on my recommended list now in 2021. May I congratulate you on a really first rate piece of work. You had me engrossed from the beginning. I love the tragic irony that it appears to be a probe launched from Earth that damages our little protagonist’s ship. Such a well thought out narrative. I first started writing short screenplays (earth based, not sci-fi) many years ago but life got in the way! I appreciate a well constructed story with great beginning, middle and ending. Lovely characterisation. Wonderful work, right down to the credits. Thank you so much for your creation and thank you also to CGBros for posting. THIS kind of content is what UA-cam does best. Accidently saw an animated film..now can't stop them.
There are so many people out there that have talents so much greater than all of hollywood. Very creative and innovative people. Love to see these kinds of short films this channel provides.

I find this to be so beautiful, upon crashing the robotic form can befriend the living one, they can work together without prejudice and achieve anything, and get rescued as well.

tdivv41 When a channel reach 100k subs it´s big enough for the "Grief" army to arrive. They actually jump from video to video disliking all day. I watched video´s where people wonder how they can get a dislike on a 8 min video 10 seconds after it´s uploaded :) Well the explanation is Grief Army. And yes i agree, there should´nt be any dislikes on this short anim.
So sad. Shame on them. I guess some people in the world simply loves misery and company. The "Grief Army" you speak of, reminds me of "Monsters Inc" and the moral to the story...why Frighten when you can receive so much more (positive energy) through laughter. Unfortunately not everybody realizes how much effort goes into making even a short animated film. " It's all done in a computer" is the normal response, but someone has to tell the computer software what to do.It's the little touches that make it look right, the reflections and shadows, the way things move in a breeze. This is where the animators skill comes in and not everybody can do it, even with the most expensive software.Why do you think Disney, Pixar, ILM pay people if it's all done on computer. Right ....rant over. It's a like from me and I'm off to check out your other stuff👍👍👍
