Believe me or not but I cried after watching this video. I don't understand why I'm not the kind to cry so easily...
Magistral visual and emotional story, its storytelling is sadly so true and anticipating. Our humanity is destined to be doomed if we continue in this way, and with this what made once our civilisation so beautiful as well. Beautiful film, thank you so much.

No matter what part of the universe life forms come from, there will always be that deeply embedded and hidden connection between children. I found this short very inspirational of the fact that through earth's demise and another planet that's moved beyond self inflicted harm, that a simple toy such as teddy bear could demonstrate a benign task of making a child happy even though we are so far apart. A very fitting title to this gem. Excellent graphics and music along with the characters. Hope to see more of such tales.

Teddies are NOT simple toys. They are companions, confidants, security, healers, and protectors while their partner sleeps. Every single person should have a Teddy. I am 73, and still have the Teddy my parents bought me, second hand, for my 2nd birthday. I have no idea how old Timothy is, but he will accompany me in my coffin to fight the devils off.

I got a similar teddy when i wasn't even 1 year old yet. 23 years later, i still have it, and i am as reluctant to part ways with him as that kid in the video. It might seem worthless to anyone else, and the fact that i want to keep him seems silly or even funny to some, but it gave me great comfort in times of hardship when i was young when nothing and nobody else would, which makes him an invaluable memory.

This was absolutely wonderful. I can't believe it's taken me until now to actually find and watch this one. It's definitely showing it's age now, but still totally holds up with it's message about what we are doing to the planet (that could well be only a few years away if we don't change our way fast) and the meaning of these childhood friendships, that still stay with us for the rest of our lives if we let them.
Give it the chance, life and joy can still go on.

This was presented to us in our animation class when a member of Cogswell College visited us. I was feeling a little sick that day, so I didn't get to voice my opinion, but now I can here:
This was a beautiful animation that is worth the effort put into it. Humans in CGI are a challenge to create and more often than not look horrifying, but these humans look very normal and very natural, especially the young boy.
The aliens are amazingly designed as well; they have a unique appearance that almost looks intimidating at first, but the powerful scene where the one takes the teddy bear in his hand and shows that look of sadness and sympathy for its previous owner is just great.
All in all, a very great short film and you guys should be proud!

And the alien's sorrow for humanity, his quiet satisfaction at being home, his love for his wife and child and the way the child alien leaps into his/her father's arms ... Just beautiful.

@Brett B : Propaganda seeks to make people believe things that are not true. Therefore, what *you* are preaching is the *only* propaganda here. Deal with the *reality:* you are simply an evil person who could care less for anyone, *even the future of your own children is unimportant to you.* And that makes you just about as evil as a person can be.
Those are just very simple, and indisputable facts. For their sake, I hope you never have children. You would be an absolutely *horrible* parent. And I am not joking even the slightest bit here. Wise up and learn to give a shit about others, or stop wondering why no one likes you, why your wife left, and why your own kids (if they were unfortunate enough to have you as a parent) despise you.

@lavender fields That's true, the problem that I see that in a lot ways man makes things more complicated than it really needs to be. And man is in general terms prideful and arrogant to his own ends. He wants what someone else has and he's willing to take by any means.( That's what wars are really about, you have what I want, you won't give it me so, I will conquer you and take everything anyways.) Some people are not willing to work for what they want in life, or they don't really know what they want so, they end up doing the same thing that everybody else is doing. I think that man is what's going to make his own species extinct, by his own undoing. Long before our sun dies and destroys the earth.

Life is worth living when there is something or someone that makes it so for you. You wouldn't want to deal with a job 8 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week for no other reason than ''just to survive''. Simple working folk find happiness in the simple things, like acts of kindness, a decent meal after a tiring day, to be shown affection from people they care about, to come home to a lover and family, a teddy bear? Rich power mongers already have everything they could ever wish for, they pay people to be kind to them, serve and protect them, and any emotional attachment they think they have with someone is probably artificial. Pity the rich man, for he is hallow. And in his vein pursuit of finding fulfilment, he will impoverish the rest of us, and devastate the land.

( I don't have a problem with work but at the same time. I don't think that we were meant to be slaves either.)I just think that in a lot of ways we have forgotten the true meaning of life because of the media. Keeps portraying what's better and new and improved with all of that"fake"stuff being stuffed down our collective throats it's hard not to lose sight of true meaning of life as I think that God intended. @@arynschroeder4756 That's called capitalism my man. Advertisements will want to make you feel bad about yourself first, and then tell you how to improve, because that will get people to spend money on their products. Today's society is profit-firts, everything else second. Its the same in marketing as it is with the labour force, any industry will wish to maximise their output while attempting the pay their workers as little as they can. National laws enforce a minimal wage, and one's education plays a part in how much you should be getting, but if it wasn't for those, these same vein men would no doubt try to turn us in to de-facto slaves. This is not a critique of capitalism mind you, it's not the system's fault, for it is the best we can conceive of, but a critique of human nature. Humanity is flawed at its core, dividing feelings like fear drives hate which makes us do rash things for the wrong reasons, which drives a further wedge between people, who begin to compete on every level, which is envy, and consequently greed. This applies in divisions like nations and religions, as well as social classes, down to individual feuds. These are barriers that will not be removed any time soon. If humanity would have a savior, it would have to be sympathy.

Awesome ! Thanks for the reminder that love is love and life is the most precious thing in the universe. Alot of us got a teddy or pillow or blanket that was our favorite thing when we were young. I was very lucky to have parents who saw the value in a child having a special friend or pal to call their own. Mine was a Female Doberman Pinscher Puppy who grew up with me, my Dad named her "Dobie" pronounced Doh-bee and she was my constant companion we went everywhere and did everything together. Owning Dobie taught me many great life lessons. The only time we were apart was when she went to school for training and it was so hard on both of us but when she came home it was as if she had never been gone at all. She was a truly amazing Dog in every way, she kept me from harm more ways and times than I care to admit. When I went to school she would walk beside me and then lay outside under the shade of a big Cottonwood tree till school got out and she would meet me at the door and if I had to stay after for whatever reason she would find a way into the school and come find me and lay quietly under my desk or beside me till we could go home. Sadly Dobie passed in her sleep at the age of 14 right beside my bed one night. We had her buried at the local pet cemetery and I am now in my early 60's and I still visit her grave 3-5 times a year.....she may be gone physically but her love has and will always be with me till that day comes when we will meet again and run and play like we used to.

This one is so sad... The bear survives everything, including the final death of humanity. Even sadder to me is that the comments here are all about the nostalgia of the teddy bear (not that it isn't important to the story, too), but no one is talking about the massive elephant in the room: the larger point the film is making that goes along with the story of the toy: Climate Change. Everyone here seems to forget, or doesn't want to face; this film is actually telling TWO stories... Beautifully presented and poignant. No wonder it won so many awards. This is one of the best films I've ever seen.

    • @DrachenGothik666
      @DrachenGothik666 4 роки тому

@Maggie Lynn Oh, for Pete's Sake. You folks REALLY need to take off the goddamned tinfoil hats. Do you even KNOW what "Agenda 21" actually was? The fucking TITLE of an agreement to be less wasteful, to find ways to preserve the environment, maybe use less fossil fuels, that sort of thing. It wasn't even a fucking law. Just a friendly hand shake between United Nations countries. That's it. George H. W. Bush even signed on to it in the year it was written up. It was the Paris Accord of that decade. You what's REALLY mass murder? The human greed of Big Oil, the companies that actually had scientists research into whether use of fossil fuels was dangerous to our environment over time, and how long we could continue to use them before things would break down. When those scientists came back and told them just how dangerous their product was (extremely toxic to people and the environment), they had them drop the research, forbade them from telling anyone and buried it all... BACK IN THE LATE SEVENTIES. Big Oil KNEW about Climate Change forty years ago and could have warned us, or worked to make their products safer. But they just went on as if nothing had changed because they didn't fucking care.
THAT'S the "mass murder" you want to look into, lady. Climate Change isn't a "front" for anything other than basic human shortsightedness and greed. Some of us knew what fossil fuels could do, and failed to say anything because the money was too good. Most of us know how poisonous the by-products of burning fossil fuels are: CO2 and carbon monoxide--both can kill. Interestingly enough, too MUCH CO2 actually can poison plants over time. They grow fast, yes, but they produce fewer nutrients for other lifeforms, and the respire LESS OXYGEN--a double whammy. The plant grows leggy (taller or longer) but without enough of the cellulose to give the plant the firmness it needs to stay upright. It falls over. It doesn't produce chlorophyll properly--causing issues with the oxygen/CO2 cycle again. In short, too much CO2 fucks everything up. Where's that CO2 coming from? Us: the stuff we BURN, the animals we farm, our manufacturing processes, road-train-ocean & air-shipping, our cars & trucks, our recreational toys, air-travel, and the accidental fires we cause in forests, oil rigs, refinement plants... You name it, humanity has found a way to wreck it.
You can tell me to fuck off all ya want, it still doesn't change the fact that there isn't any shady, secret cabal killing the planet, unless it's the super-rich who don't want to take any responsibility for what the products they sell do to people as long as it keeps them in power and rich as fuck. The only "secret" I see is how they manage to keep people so distracted and fighting against each other when it's so fucking obvious where all of this crap comes from, that we buy into a bunch of illogical conspiracies that sound utterly insane, yet hundreds of thousands or even millions of people believe them... It's all right out there in the open, and it's you. It's me, it's your mom, your neighbour, that guy you passed on the street the other day, some poor girl making naan on her mother's stove in India. It's ALL of us, some, more than others. To be more honest, it's mostly North America, China and Europe. WE started it all. China's only in there because they have such a HUGE population and they still use an incredible amount of coal, despite being one of the largest producers of renewable energy in the world. Same goes for India. Both countries are actually working hard to go renewable as soon as possible--they KNOW what's coming.
No, it's the fucking halfwits like the USA and Bolsonor's Brazil who are turning a global problem into a political football that should have been a point of coming together to fix a problem that affects ALL of us, not just a few rich countries. It was the rich countries that CAUSED the mess, it should be the rich countries who CLEAN UP the mess. And yes, I'm from one of the rich countries. Our actions, ALL OF US, affects the PLANET. We are in the SIXTH Great Extinction, and it's OUR fault. So, how well do you sleep at night?
