To me, his is the best Nirvana live I've seen so far. Kurt was at his best tonight, even for SLTS. Wish there's a soundboard recording of this (there's one for Heart Shaped Box so there's hope). This live is mix with their early 90's shows, which were powerul, and their last shows (with Pat Smear and with a more "clean" sound).
Robin Lem Yes, there was a soundboard recording made of this show. For one, I’ve had a copy of it now since either late ‘94 or early ‘95. No UA-cam or easy internet access back then to where I could easily just try seeking out a copy. No, back then I had to hunt down bootleg copies of shows among collectors who were just here or there and the price of em were ridiculous compared to now. Espcly the cost for quality. The better the sound, the higher the price and I paid plenty for soundboard recorded copies of shows back then, believe me! But even if you don’t take what I say for true, there’s another way for you to tell yourself that there’s a soundboard recording of the show. On ‘Muddy Banks’ live LP release, the track ‘Heart Shaped Box’ is from this show and no, of the trks that are on that show where it’s said that some trks were just ‘cleaned up’ to sound good enough to make the cut for the release, HSB is not one of ‘em as they already had a soundboard recorded version of it ready.
@@thehistorybuff8265 It might be his fav, but not his best. I think if he thought it was his best, he would've ended with it. I could be wrong of course
the reason kurt always ended shows with the same 3 songs on a plain blew heart shaped box is cuz they are all in drop d so they save them for last so they dont have to tune back

Haha... what’s funny is that you all ‘think’ that you don’t hear any of Pat’s guitar playing. Got news for you... what the hell do you think he was doing with em on this tour? Why was he playing with the band thruout ALL of the In Utero tour starting from the Phoenix, AZ show in October up thru the infamous last show in Munich, DE on 03/01/94? I mean, if he was shit then why was it do u think that he didn’t miss out playing not one show? He was there to help the band (Espcly Cobain) make sure that each song was going to sound as good as it needed to be. So that each note was to be hit thruout each song. Sadly, this was due to Cobain’s heroin addiction. It had gotten so bad to where he wasn’t able to remember to hit all the chords in, what was first anyhow, most of the songs. As longer as the tour went on, the more songs Kurt needed quote/unquote ‘assistance’ in hitting all the notes required if the songs were going to sound as good as they did thruout this tour. By the end of the tour, Pat was helping out big time with ALL of the songs from the beginning to the end of each setlist every single night! Cobain is the reason and is WHO WANTED Pat to play with them on this tour. It’s bcos he knew he had trouble with remembering to hit all the notes in what at first was most of the new songs. But as the tour went on, the usage got to be more and more to where by the time Munich came around, Cobain was needing help with even a lot of the older songs as well. This is all in his autobiography Heavier Than Heaven. Might be mentioned in ‘Come As You Are’ book as well but off top of my head, I don’t remember for sure. Really hate that too cos there’s not been any1 thruout my life that I’m a bigger fan/follower of than Cobain. If he’d been able to get off that shit, who knows if he might’ve still been around today? Haha... but after all that... does that answer what I was saying about Pat’s guitar playing?! Lol
@@DT24K heroin dont affect yer memory like that (trust me here) pat was added to help give the band a bigger fuller sound for these big arenas an take some pressure off kurt he said in an interview he had wanted a 2nd guitar player for a long time its not cause he couldnt remeber his own songs or "notes" it didnt have anything to do with heroin.....

Sometimes I dream about having a time machine and use it for going **there** and see my Heroes starting the rituals with Radio Friendly Unit Shifter... Me & my lost friends with ears full of magical noises and eyes full of tears...
Damn
Maybe the people in charge of the In Utero reissue will use this video as a source for their box set lol
All of us sure wish to have a time machine and go back to one of Nirvana concert. Tremendous music by Nirvana.
I’m here because of the 30th anniversary of In Utero set that has this show as a bonus disc.
is the footage remaster good?

In Utero Super Deluxe Edition in October 2023 ❤️
"YOU PEOPLE LIKE TO DRINK GIN?" 4:33 Kurt, we miss you so much.
Just went to the Rock and Roll exhibit at the Met and saw the quitar he smashed during THIS show! So cool...
Damn I love that guitar solo 13:55
Just found out there's a SBD recording of "The Man Who Sold The World" that surfaced last year in "Outcesticide 2022". There's hope!!
You heard the latest news?
I just heard it@@tbeat03 !!
The melody of teen spirit , so good in my ear and so statisfying
From what I've seen from all these live shows, Heart-Shaped Box was always played relatively last. I think Kurt knew how legendary it is
Nah drain you was his fav mine too for that matter
@@thehistorybuff8265 It might be his fav, but not his best. I think if he thought it was his best, he would've ended with it. I could be wrong of course
the reason kurt always ended shows with the same 3 songs
on a plain
blew
heart shaped box
is cuz they are all in drop d so they save them for last so they dont have to tune back
@@d3ltitnu Honestly, that makes a lot of sense. Even All Apologies is in that Drop D (C#) tuning
This version of HSB is on the Muddy Banks album.
Who's watching this on lock down in 2020? Tfs, fanfuckintabulous set, probably the only way to see a concert at all anymore ffs, and definitely the only way to see Nirvana in concert...thanks youtuber and youtube....................................................... ;-/
yooo
Lets goooo October 27 high quality version of In Bloom with shredding solo and Pat on backing vocals
They just released Pennyroyal Tea from this show and it was mixed horribly
@marcorondinelli7309 much better than live&loud
Thanks for the upload this is so great loved nirvana forever but never saw kurt like this.
Amazing concert! Thank you for the sharing!
The only "bad" thing is that I can't hear Pat's guitar :/
Jefferson Araujo Pat was a waaaay better guitarist than Kurt. Pat was and still is a badass.
Haha... what’s funny is that you all ‘think’ that you don’t hear any of Pat’s guitar playing.
@@DT24K If he was still around today he would not physically be able to talk, the way he would destroy his voice for that unique sound.
I was there in the nosebleed seats with a shitty date who only got up to dance when they played Smells like Teen Spirit. I remember Kurt telling us to jump up and down, it's a lot safer. ;) awesome show and I'm so glad I can show my kids!
haven't heard before Frances farmers in love until now.So fucking awesome.
Kurt doing this concert at the home of the showtime lakers of the great western forum. His last concert of 1993.
Great Nirvana show. 👏🏻👍
Then the day after this was the New Year’s Eve show, that was also a great show
And the day before this show 👌
Sto concerto è Fantastico!!!!
Thank you for loading this... I was at this show, in the pit. What an epic experience!
Muito bom gravação de" Heart Shaped Box " sem edição da para ouvir alguns gritos da plateia kkkkk top
28:54 In Bloom
Drain You yell at 7:04 💙
I love Kurt's Beatles-move during About a Girl.
I love how Kurt merely looks at his imaginary watch at the end of 'Man Who Sold the World' to signal to Dave that it has been going on too long and it's time to end it- priceless! Haha This show along with this Palaghiaccio Italy show are definitely two of the best from this last tour: ua-cam.com/video/HPIGz2HmeeE/v-deo.html
Kurt was high energy and in the zone for both. Peace, love and all the good things people...
so glad he had some fun
