Lyrics:
Seek him here, seek him on the highway
Never knowing when he'll appear
All await, engine's ticking over
Hear the roar as they sense the fear
Wheels! A glint of steel and a flash of light!
Screams! From a streak of fire as he strikes!
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Black as night, faster than a shadow
Crimson flare from a raging sun
An exhibition, sheer precision
Yet no one knows from where he comes
Fools! Self destruct cannot take that crown
Dreams! Crash one by one to the ground
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
There's many who tried to prove that they're faster
But they didn't last and they died as they tried
There's many who tried to prove that they're faster
But they didn't last and they died as they tried
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
This was my first concert at the age of 13....I walked out that show deaf...was the loudest show I have ever seen...been hooked on metal ever since that show...the 80's were the best for live metal acts...PERIOD!!!!!
It was my first concert too I had sneak out with my buddy . My percents wouldn’t let me go because I was 13 too lol. I feel so lucky to have seen them as my first concert I had feed back in my ears for a week .
Just saw Priest in November, I've been to 100 metal shows, and it was so loud, I couldn't believe it! Loved every second of it!!!
Same here my first metal show and I was 13 , was in my way to CCD religion class and my friends saw me walking and said where are you going I said to that boring class and they said no you’re not you’re coming with us we’re hopping the bus to Providence to go see Judas Priest and Iron Maiden ! Best decision I ever made lol . Bought my ticket from a scalper sat about 12 rows up KK’s side of the stage it was to this day the best concert I’ve ever been to. One of the greatest memories of my lifetime ! And yep nothing beats the 80’s live shows they were the best 🤘
Amen brother
About the same age. First concert. Humble Pie and Iron Maiden opened.
The only front man who can sing while relaxing on on stage like it's nothing and still kick ass
He sits like a tyrannical Roman emperor. It looks so badass.
We knew Rob...we didnt care. Rock on priest.
I'm thinking of starting a Kickstarter to reattach my head to my neck after headbanging so hard to this!!! PRIEST FUCKIN RULES !!
srinivas kumar best fucking comment fucking ever
respect from México man
We stayed overnight in a parking lot to get these tickets....Priest/Maiden 82!!!!
I love the roughness in Halford's voice every time he says the line ''hell bent for leather''
He was pretty ill that night said Metal God in an interview few yrs ago
I worked at the Tacoma Dome when they came to town- I was doing "crowd control". I got so lucky 'cause I was posted RIGHT NEXT TO THE STAGE when Rob rode his Harley out! That job was awesome! I saw many great shows!!!!
I was there in Memphis 12th row center. \m/
Who cares
Lucky You.
I'd love to hear about some more shows you worked at. My uncle when he was a young man was a steward at Glastonbury when Zeppelin played in the 70s
That’s SICK. I saw them in Raleigh on the 14th… wish I could’ve been born to see them in their prime. The energy is unreal
Not being alive to go to this concert is one of the great envy's of my life.
I saw Defenders, Turbo, Ram It Down and Painkiller while I was in HS and college. Your ears are never the same after a Priest concert. You not only hear it but you feel it in your chest.
The National Anthem of Metal!
Glenn Tipton is just shredding that guitar and Rob Halford is tearing it up on the vocals. That scream at the end is pure Judas Priest.
By the early 80’s JP had mastered the art of stage craft.
Rob + whip + leather + spikes + motorcycle + screeching voice, guitars and drums = delectable
This is Heavy F'ing Metal...period.
Glenn Ware : this is so heavy metal x infinity !!!
Im now 50 and glad to say metalhead proud after all these years
LIKEWISE! I'm 48 and have been a rock/metal fan since 1978 (thanks to a band called Kiss)!
56
59
53, I'm with ya on that
Me too!
IM 56 AND I LOVE YOUR THING, METAL IS JUDAS PRIEST.
Yes, 1963 a Good and Bad year all in one!
Nobody can be cooler and gifted with such a voice to be just chilling, leaned up against the motorcycle and singing with such ease !!!
... and later bullwhippin' the Harley on stage😎👍
Judas Priest was monstrous!!
Power, speed and METAL!!
Thanks from Italy for sharing
I was at that show in Memphis...Midsouth Coliseum. Saw them several times after! Best concert ever!! PRIEST!!
Hard to beat killer Metal and Harley Davidsons.
Rob is who he is and his voice is timeless. 🤘
the Metal God in full action.
HELL BENT, HELL BENT FOR LEATHER... TU TU TURUTU TURUTU TURUTU TURUTTUUUU.
Thanks for the tabs
@@remistaom hahaha
For leather.. ☮️💯
Without a doubt, one of the BEST LIVE PERFORMANCES EVER!
JFC. This is rock and roll. Reminds me of the first time I saw Judas Priest.... the arena was dripping.....
Rob Halford is truly the Metal God, Glen, KK, Ian. Stunning
The shock on our of our faces said it all... riding a mc out on stage was priceless~ ❤
One of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time!🤘🇬🇧
You know when you hear the Harley start up what's getting ready to happen. I saw Judas Priest many times throughout their career and I would have to say that the 82 tour was the best. I've said it before and I will say it again if you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's you were blessed!
🙋⚡
I agree
Los reyes indiscutibles el heavy metal. CALIDAD!
Excellent....!
The best Heavy Metal band ever..!!
This show was broadcasted live on MTV.
I watched it on a 19 inch Zenith tube television.
The tiny speakers couldn't handle any volume.
Me and my cousins watched it at my uncles house.
We were all smoking killer green bud that my uncle grew in his garage.
It was a great night.
GOOD TIMES
Me too!! ✨🙋⚡
It was just like almost being right on top of the stage in front row!! ✨🇬🇧⚡🙋
He looks comfortable sitting on the bike as he sings
Forty years later.....I'm STILL listening to JP. Guess I always will!
The greatest live band ever!!!!!!
The greatest metal
Moment…. That Harley firing up with Rob riding it out on stage…👍🏻👍🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻👊🏻👊🏻🔥🔥
Rob Halford what a voice
I saw the priest at the US 1983 FESTIVAL , I NEVER REGRET BEING A METAL HEAD.
Same here! Been into or a fan of rock/metal since 1978 (thanks to KISS!).
I'm 22 but when I was 8 years old this song was one of a thousand of metal song on my favorite metal life metal is the best 🖤🤘
JP is the greatest of all time.
THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
Fight me
🙋⚡
Absolutely layed waste to the competition
best concert ever!!! 🤟😈😍
As with most, if not all, of their songs....this one really kicks ass!!!
3 fucking encores! ROCK!
This is just one of the best there is
I love and respect judas priest.
6:40 scared the shit out of me
25 March 2021----a song to relax to.
I saw this concert in 1982 when I was 17. In Phx it was my first concert and it was unbelievable. Those were the days. Not sure what happened to music these days. Hip hop bull shit and the Bieber omg.
Phoenix had the best music scene in the 80’s and 90’s
Listen to some RAM and their album Svbversvm or The Throne Within
Judas Priest makes me happy 💜💜💜
Judas Priest beste Heavy Metal Band aller Zeiten👍👍👍👍👍 Unerreichbar👍👍👍👍👍
this is so metal!
I saw this tour, was incredible!!
CalgaryOiler Oh hell ya totally agree with u.Rob at its peak. For me the best voice and attitude of his generation
Judas Priest is the fuckin' S+ tier of all music genres.
Hell yeah Hell bent for ever!!! Great Album
The Metal Gods 🤘💜
🙋⚡
Looooove this song!!! The start of thrash!
🙋⚡
Fucking awesome!
Saw them at the Capital Center in DC same year. The whole place went black. Like a blackout. All you heard next was that V twin idling w the headlight on. Must have been 3-4 minutes felt like 30! True Metal Gods
This rules more than I can ever put into words, but it always makes me laugh that the "big finish" is just as long as the song itself, lol
Freaking madhouse...!
Hail Priest!
\m/
🙋⚡
i'm at this concert this was in memphis tn on a cold dec. sunday night and they kicked ass.
Saw them two nights ago. Wish I would’ve seen them back then, with K.K and Tipton, but they still kicked ass. Halford can still hit the notes.
All these years and I just NOW realized the engine to that motorcycle was never on. He just coasts out and the engine sound is piped in over the PA.
Only Rob Halford is badd ass enough to roll out on a Harley and perform perfect metal...and while reclined in the Harley !!
...AND bullwhipping it afterwards😁!!!
🇬🇧✨⚡🙋⚡⚡⚡
@@inlakesh555 I know.. INSANE ⚡🙋
This is beyond epic......
🙋⚡
Fuckin first .....we Love you Priest !!!!!!!
Hendrix must have smiled at the guitar chaos......
Too bad he left the "concert" before they took the stage.
Nobody :
8 years old me with bicycle : 4:29
Metal for life.
\m/ \m/
Imagine, if one shall, a double headed battle axe smashing through the iron helmet of the Anglo-Saxon chieftains defending Stamford Bridge from the Norman knights. That, sirs, is this song.
The Saxon’s and angles won that one, and they weren’t defending it from the Norman Knights, they attacked it and took it from the Norseman of Harald Hadraada, and Tostig Godwinsson, brother of King Harold, the last Saxon monarch of England.
It was the last Viking attack ever on England.
Imagine, if you will, the spear of the Saxon thegn piercing the flesh of the Norse axeman defending Stamford Bridge. The Saxons go on to eradicate the rest of the Norsemen invaders. That my friends is what this song truly is, and also, what actually happened.
Nah, more like halford getting bent by his leather buddy
@@jamestierney1786 lol I was going to make the same comment ,thought I might of been a bit pedantic , but u beat me to it :)
@@jamestierney1786 The Viking army of Harald "Hadrada" Sigurdsson was Norwegians in the main and not Norman's from Normandy France! The English king Harold was half Danish on his Mother's side & hie elite troops were Danish Huscarles, one third of the Norwegians were on the west side of the river, there with little armour having left it on their ships, the other 2/3 rds were on the East side and some troops had to rush to the battle from the estuary, Orre's Storm. It is said out of 300 Norwegian ships arriving some weeks before, only 24 ships sailed away! ua-cam.com/video/5YzEA_uQBg4/v-deo.html
I saw Judas Priest live in Grand Rapids, MI on this tour with Great White as the opening act..................I had no idea what I was really witnessing.
damn hes still rockin today
Priest at their best...the long end of the song is amazing
“Hell bent for leather” (the title says it all!)😂
Freewheel burnin'-Hell bent for leather-Riding on the wind-Painkiller-(in a raw)live in Athens 2004, awesome concert!!
🙋⚡
My favorites also! 🙋⚡✨
"And many have tried to prove that they're faster, and they died as they tried." I viewed this lyric as pro- manic-depressive, so I loved it!! ...OK now, y'all.
😍love this band
Seen them with Iron Maiden on that tour. What a show
Simply awesome!!!!
That last trip through the chorus is epic.
Judas Priest é sem palavras
Mr. Dave Holland THE BEST drums Judas Priest only 1 FOREVER, FANTASTIC. R. I. P LOVE YOU ❤️
LOVE that super rare '71 Medallion Gibson V that KK used to play
My VOTE goes to Judas Priest for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022
I just love the beginning guitar riff of this song 💥
Whip that motorcycle boy! This is brilliant!!
I fucking love this one...
I saw this tour at the summit in Houston Texas, he dumped the bike that night as I recall. I wanna say Krokus was the opener. Anyway, the Summit is a mega church now
Yes man whatever you say. Hell bent hell bent for leather yeah.
Good to see Dave Holland. Extremely tragic story. Unfortunately proven completely innocent after his death.
Robs Voice was so fucked at this point in the gig, you can hear it crack when he tries to scream at 1:31. If you listen to the Victim of Changes from the same night, it cracks and cuts out then too. He still did the whole gig. Most modern "artists" would've pussied out
That's dedication y'all
Also, cocaine doesn’t help the voice, he was quite the sniffer, but wow did it make the metal HEAVY 🤘🏽
Throwing down a Harley and then whipping it, it doesnt get much more METAL than that 🤟
The ending of this song was longer than the song itself. But anyway, a damn good performance - and I'm not even a metal head.
That was a thing of beauty.......
aguante judas Priest
Marvelous.
Este concierto fue muy bueno
awsomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Iv'e loved Robert🌹since 1974!🏆✨🌠⚡⚡🎸💥✈️☁️🙋💯💋💖✨🙋♀️🔥
Increíble!!!
4:51 whipping your vintage harley isn't good, rob! :D
It wasn't that vintage back then :P
Simon Christensen yeah, thats right though! :P
think it was an amf-harley..... not their finest hour
@@WrathchildNH Flog that Beast of Burden!
Happy birthday Metal God Rob.
Show Stopper! Speed Metal grand daddies.
