    There was so much more excitement back in those days. Going to a metal concert was a gigantic party.

      Yes, it was. Priest, Maiden, ACDC, SCorpions, a little later metallica and Slayer. WE loved those bands so much and going to see them truly was an event.

      In 2004 Dave Holland was sentenced to eight years in jail after being found guilty of trying to rape a 17-year-old special needs male, who was receiving drum lessons from him. I've been a fan of Priest since 1982, but when I heard that news back in 2004 I just don't acknowledge him as being in the best band of all time, I still love Judas Priest to this day 🤟Priest Priest Priest 🤟

    Holy shit. I wish so badly I had grown up during this era, I was born in '88. This concert looked like an absolute blast, I've watched this concert and so many other 80s metal concerts on UA-cam over the years. What a fun time, I'm so jealous, this is back when society was freakin NORMAL and fun-loving and easy-going.. lots of hot girls in attendance headbanging too! And no fat people, everyone is trim and good-looking and full of energy.. no cell phones, no hyper-sensitivity, no blue-haired weirdos, no bullshit! Simpler times. The 80s feels like it was one of the last fun decades before America went to shit, like it was pretty much the last hurrah before the party went out with a bang.

    Forget about 99% of all that post 1990 "heavy metal" bands, most of them created by corporations.
    This, young boys and girls, is the real heavy metal!

    • @DownFallNetWork
      @DownFallNetWork 7 років тому +21

      HolyMuscleOfLove lol dude 80s metal was much more corporate because it was popular at the time

    • @HolyMuscleOfLove
      @HolyMuscleOfLove 7 років тому +37

      The 70's and 80's metal bands was popular and gave tons of money to the music corporations, but most of these band's were created by people without much money, who started from the bottom, and made an hard way to the top, with dishonest managers, and even with the blackout of the radio station, only to see a bunch of stupid people accusing them of satanism, of decadency, and other things. They even made enemies in governements, like in USA (PMRC).
      Many of the 90's and latter called "heavy metal" bands, had more help of the music industry, were played in the radios, and most of their hits, and even line ups, were/are created by people beyond desks and not by the bands thereselfs. Must of them weren't\aren't even "heavy metal" but are called as heavy metal because that term help to sell.
      I don't know who old you are, but being a rock fan wasn't always as normal as today or in the 90's. In the 80's people look at us as if we were all a bunch junkies, devil workshippers, and sexual perverts. And rock music represented our rage and frustrations. Rock music were trully rebellious. Most of the post 90's rock music just doesn't have that rebellion.

    • @robertisham5279
      @robertisham5279 7 років тому +1

      HolyMuscleOfLove I thought rock and metal was mainstream back then compared to now

    • @HolyMuscleOfLove
      @HolyMuscleOfLove 7 років тому +8

      Nope.
      Metal was seen as "evil" and "nocive" back then. If a kid killed himself, the mainstream media and the governement blamed rock music, if a kid became a drug addict, the society blamed rock music, if a kid stole a candy in the shop, his parents blamed rock music.
      Many hard and heavy rock bands sold very well their albuns from the 80's, but they almost didn't had any airplay in radio stations or tv, who usualy just played pop, new-wave and other mainstream styles. Even the heavy rock bands more "mainstream" like , for example, Scorpions, were not so "mainstream" back them.
      Rock music were popular among those who felt as outsiders in our hypocritical societies. But "popular" isn't the same thing as "mainstream".
      Doubts?
      Listen to some "popular" rock albuns from the 80's, like Screaming For Vengeance, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, Heaven And Hell, Back In Black, Holy Diver, Ace Of Spades, Peace Sells, Burning The Witches, Blackout, Operation Mindcrime, Diary of a Madman, Master Of Puppets, Headhunter, Run For Cover, Perfect Strangers, Restless And Wild, Appetite For Destruction, The Headless Children, Abigail, Keeper Of The Seven Keys...

    Hell Bent For Leather- Judas Priest
    Seek him here, seek him on the highway
    Never knowing when he'll appear
    All await, engine's ticking over
    Hear the roar as they sense the fear
    Wheels! A glint of steel and a flash of light!
    Screams! From a streak of fire as he strikes!
    Hell bent, hell bent for leather
    Hell bent, hell bent for leather
    Black as night, faster than a shadow
    Crimson flare from a raging sun
    An exhibition, of sheer precision
    Yet no one knows from where he comes
    Fools! Self destruct cannot take that crown
    Dreams! Crash one by one to the ground
    There's many who tried to prove that they're faster
    But they didn't last and they died as they tried
    There's many who tried to prove that they're faster

    So sad that only Rob and Ian can still perform live today. God Bless KK, Glenn and Dave. Makes what Iron Maiden is still doing in 2021 so much more impressive when you see all the casualties from the classic NWOBHM lineups.

    A vegan woman contacted JP and suggested a change.
    She wanted the song to be called Hell bent for pleather!😂👍 That's just amazing.

    So awesome that not one person in the audience is holding up a phone, just enjoying the concert

      Because this concert took place during the cell phone stone age.
