Awesome video. I’m hoping to pick up my own bad boy this weekend!! Looking forward to your smash burger video!
One cook in and I like it so far. I am excited to see the smash burger results myself. Thanks for watching.
I picked one up today and am looking forward to it. It's nice to see how well it did with the temperature spread. I agree i wish they did a see or cast iron griddle instead, with something like this for camping the smaller size in more important to me than the weight. Would be nice if they mad a drop in replacement griddle upgrade.
Yeah they nailed it on the size and portability but should have figured out a way to use a steel top.
Just got home with my new blackstone 20" griddle. Forgot to get the spatulas. Looking to use this everybight at work. Over night security, don't get to leave for lunch. Plus I like going camping and off roading. Time for some better / healthier eating.
@felixvalenzuela6052 if youre going to use it on a regular basis for work id recommend getting a refillable 5lb tank from home depot. Itll save you some $ over the 1pbs
I am looking into that. I just bought a refillable 1 pound from Walmart, the black one , I forgot the name of it.
@@dracoflame8780 I'm thinking about getting a 5 pound tank for mine.
Damn that looked really good, cute dog as well
The little griddle does a great job and makes some fabulous breakfast. That was Maggie the Golden Retriever. She is a sweetheart. Thanks for watching.
I just ordered one. Looking forward to cooking on it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching. You will enjoy the griddle.
Right now we have a Members Mark 22 in beast that we have been taking on our camping trips. We have a small camper and I wanted less weight. I snagged one of these today after searching about 10 Wally World stores. Your cooking looks great and I now feel it was a great purchase for us!!
It cooks great and is super compact and portable. I have a smaller camper and this I can make fit. The only real negative is non stick tops eventually wears off
Looks like that Blackstone is doing pretty good so far Doug! Hope the top holds up for you , if so what a great unit for on the go! Cheers brother 🍻
This little bad boy will push close to 600 degrees and the heat is fairly even across the griddle compared to the 22". So far I'm digging it. Thanks for watching
This looks perfect for my cross country truck camping this summer!
It's a great little compact griddle.
That looks good! Simple breakfast, the way I like it. Bonus for not having the running eggs.
That is right no runny eggs. This little griddle does a nice job.
Love the looks of this breakfast!!! Yum Yum
So good!
Just picked one up yesterday. Going camping this weekend.
That sounds awesome. You will enjoy the griddle. Thanks for watching.
I can see the benefits of this griddle. Haven’t been camping in decades. Not much into it. Would be cool to see an after market insert rolled steel. This could work for family gatherings at a park too. We do that every year.
For sure. Portability is its best feature. Perfect if you have a car and like to camp but limited on space.
Do you have to season this griddle like the cast iron ones 😊
No you don't. This griddle is a non stick aluminum top.
I like the compact size for camping, but can’t see replacing my Coleman stove, which I also use to percolate coffee.
They also make one with a 14" griddle and burner.
Thanks I’ll check it out 👍
What and model are the grease cup liners?

@@griddlecookeatandmore Thanks, Grabbing some today.
Nice to know you can use this grill on those plastic tables. Where did you find the mini aluminum grease cups?
They are at Walmart in the camping isle.
JUST ORDERD MINE TODAY , WHATS THE PART NUMBER ON THE SMALL LINERS ? THANKS GREAT VIDEO
They are called Blackstone Camp Griddle Grease Cup Liners. Part # 5893 They sell them in the camping isle next to the griddles at Walmart.
THANKS @@griddlecookeatandmore
I would love to have that for camping but I know I would scratch that finish on the aluminum. I’ll accept the weight penalty and even pay more if they make one with a steel or cast iron griddle.
I agree the aluminum top is the biggest downfall. They could make a thinner carbon steel top that would not be as heavy as what they use on the gas models.
Could you post a video on how to properly place the griddle plate back on after getting the propane nozzle out. I’ve been struggling 😅
I will try to put that in my next video I make with it. It is a pain in the ass sometimes.
Curious how the non stick top is holding up? Any peeling or flaking?
After I made 5 videos with it I put it in my camper and only use it when camping. So I have not had any issues yet and since it is not heavily used it will hold up for awhile. I used to have the Blackstone E series griddle and I used it all the time especially in the winter and it lost its non stick but it never flaked off. I replaced that with a Vevor electric griddle that is not nonstick and I love it
@
Awesome thanks for the reply. I currently have the 17 inch original rolled steel top and I love it. Don’t have to worry about scratching or anything though. It does stick a bit at times. But I am curious about the nonstick haven’t decided whether or not to take the plunge Lol
Thanks for the video. I just bought this model for my camper and the stand to go with it.
Question - Do you know if the other Blackstone adapters for the bigger propane tanks fit this model or do they make one specifically for this model? Would be nice to just hook up to the existing large tank on my RV than to carry around a bunch of those small ones.
It uses the same adapter hose as the 22" grills or any other grill that can use the one pound bottles.
Link for the aluminum grease catcher tubs?
They are sold at Walmart in the camping aisle.
Blackstone Adventure Ready Camping Griddle Grease Cup Liners, 10-Pack www.walmart.com/ip/5038159510
Thanks for the review!
Can the griddle be hooked up to a 20 lb. Propane tank ( assume adapter hose would be required, but have not seen it available for other Blackstone portable griddles)
Yes you can. I'm uploading a video tomorrow making smash burgers on the camp griddle and I ran it off my 20 pound propane tank.
How long does it last one one of those camp tanks?
Not long. I used it up with that cook. You can get an adapter hose to connect to a 20 pound tank or if you want more portable they make a 5 pound tank.
Wanna get this for my overland setup seems pretty budget friendly compared to other options
The price is not too bad. The best part of this griddle is how compact it is and portable.
I have the cast iron grill , great to cook on.
I wish this griddle was a steel top.
It says in the manual you can’t use the Blackstone quick connect hose (connect to RV) with the new camp griddle. Seems odd. Any insight here?
Not sure. I will have to look in to that.
Awesome
Thanks for watching. This little camp griddle is a beast.
Great video... can you cook with the cover down?
It is not recommended to. I have not tried yet but I want to make biscuits with the lid down and one burner on low and see how it turns out.
@@griddlecookeatandmore its not a deal breaker for me... I just picked one up at my local Walmart.
Great video. Out of curiosity, what type of cameras do you use for your videos?
I had to watch it again to remember what cameras I used. So the beginning intro and the shots of me are on a Canon M50 and the shots of cooking are with my GoPro 9. I also use a Sony Zv1 that I normally use to shoot me. My favorite is the Canon M50 because it never overheats. In the summer I shoot videos outside in the sun and the GoPro and Sony always overheat. I'm shopping for another Canon camera.
@@griddlecookeatandmore would you be interested in being a guest on our weekly podcast show? If so, let me know!
@thegriddleguru for sure. Me and two other UA-camrs do a show called the Shit Show and you will have to join us sometime.
When do you record the podcast?
@@griddlecookeatandmore we typically do it on Thursday evenings but we can accommodate your schedule too in order to make it work.
How is it as far as travel? My Colman makes one hell of a racket on the road.
I keep it in my camper. It seems pretty solid closed up.
How did your plastic table hold up under the griddle?
It was good. I did another video making a steak and had both burners on high and no issues. This thing gets close to 600 degrees. The steak was one of the best steaks I have had off a griddle.
Nice BUT … you’re missing one thing , A nice Bloody Mary. 😎👍
Thanks for watching. I Bloody Mary would definitely be nice.
Just purchased the 22" Blackstone Griddle & am using it this weekend for my 1st time tailgating for Nascar !!! Do you have to keep lid open the whole time ? Also, how long do those little propane tanks last sir ? Great video !!!
You should leave the lid up. They are not designed to be used when cooking. The little 1pound tanks don't last that long. Maybe a couple cooks. If you want to keep your set up small you can get a 5 pound refillable tank that is a lot less bulky than a 20 pound tank.

@@griddlecookeatandmore Thanks for responding sir !!!!!
Where can you buy the grease liner for the 2250? the one they sell at Walmart is not compatible
Walmart sells them in the camping isle by the griddles.
@@griddlecookeatandmore is it the same ones they use for the reg griddles? because Walmart shows that its not compatible on the Walmart website. Did you try one yourself?
No they are smaller. www.walmart.com/ip/5038159510
@@griddlecookeatandmore Went down to Walmart and there they were thank you thank you thank you
Im having problems turning it on, dint seem to get a spark,,
Any tips
Check to see if you are getting a spark and if not you may have to bend the igniter closer to the burner tube. Also make sure the battery is in the right way. I know on mine I have to push it several times to get it to light.
Seems more than a few owners have that same problem. Returned mine and new is the same. Have to bend the wire a bit, almost blew my face off 😆 😬
@Steelergeek69 after I responded to your first comment I realized the igniter does not have a battery. You can buy electric igniters but I don't think there is enough room to fit me in it.
👍👍👍
Thanks for watching.
What thermometer do you use? I need to get one of those.
This is the one I have
ennoLogic Temperature Gun (NOT for Body Temp) - Accurate High Temperature Dual Laser Infrared Thermometer -58°F to 1922°F - Digital Surface IR Thermometer eT1050D a.co/d/d3dywwv
Nice portable unit.
It really is. It is great for camper because it is a lot more compact than a 22" griddle.
Is the griddle top fairly flat? I have the 22 inch E series and the griddle top is slightly concaved and im not a fan
Yes it is pretty flat. I had the E- Series myself. The problem with the E series is the non stick wears off and horrible heat retention. I was hesitant on getting this but figured I will keep it in my camper so I will keep the use down. In the Winter I used the E series all the time. I ended up throwing it away after getting a Vevor electric griddle. You can see me throw it away in a comparison video I did of the two. I like this camp griddle because it is so compact and will fit in my camper.
@@griddlecookeatandmore thanks for the information. I bought the e series for my small camper . I didn't want to use propane at first since I only have one tank for the camper.
But I think I'm going to make the switch now.
How long are those small tanks lasting you?
@@matthewpoppe6714 I think I used most of it up making my video. It feels pretty light. I'm thinking about getting a 5 lb propane tank.
If its not to much to ask, what is the model number of the unit?
The model I have is model 2246. There also is another unit with a smaller griddle and a burner and it is model 2250. Both these units plus some other new Blackstone Camp items are sold exclusively at Walmart in the camping isle.
@griddlecookeatandmore Thank you and happy cooking.
Song fits the video lol have you cooked steaks on it?
I have a Steak video and it was one of the best Steaks I have ever cooked on a griddle.ua-cam.com/video/c7mWi34is14/v-deo.htmlsi=AgvsvwPOPSzisLkM
@@griddlecookeatandmore I want to buy this griddle in your honest opinion how well is the top built? Will it last?
@@jayrough3383 first off if I didn't have a UA-cam channel and would not have bought this griddle. I'm not a fan of the non stick tops. I owned a Blackstone E series griddle. I used it a bunch and overtime the non stick wears off. My thought on the Blackstone camping griddle is will not be using it on the daily because Im keeping it in my camper. I probably will uses it around 6 times a year so that should really extend the life of it. I love the design and how compact it is. The griddle gets super hot and cooks great. I've heard people complain about the handle coming off and paint peeling. So basically time will tell.
@@griddlecookeatandmore thank you for the input it’s greatly appreciated! Is there any other camping grills you can suggest I am going camping in 2 weeks lol
The big question is how much room do you have for a griddle. Also what is your budget? If your tight on space the 20" camping griddle is great. I think that's the best thing about it. Now if you have room I would recommend a 22" griddle. Blackstones 22 is decent. If you want a better quality griddle then Weber has a nice 22" and I have several videos out on it. Halo 1B griddle is nice. The Halo is the only griddle that you can cook with the lid down. Now the Weber and Halo are both $300. The Blackstone 22 is under $200 at Walmart. I have a truck so I will take my 36" Blackstone camping sometimes.
Is that a cast-iron surface or is it aluminum?
It is aluminum with a ceramic non stick coating.
now that you have had it for a few months are you seeing the same issues as reported by other people. PAint coming off, hinges falling apart and the handle cheap and warping.
No issues yet. I did just see someone saying their handle broke right off picking it up. I could see paint peeling because this thing gets hot and it's so compact.
I always turn off the heat completely when making eggs
I'm not sure how well that would work in this unit being it has an aluminum griddle. This thing heats and cools super fast.
I made a couple of steaks on mine to test it out... small grease catch filled up rather quickly..
You are correct it does fill up quickly. It's one of the sacrifices you have to live with for it to be such a compact design.
No runny eggs on that hash!?!? lol looks good
No runny eggs for me.
That awesome cooler can you use it indoors during power outage???
I would not recommend using inside as it is an outdoor gas griddle.
So how do you clean off the chemicals off of it and how to clean it.
It's a non stick top you can clean in your sink with some soap and water.
I wish the griddle was cast iron. Sure it woukd be heavier but would last decades. That coating on the grill will have scratches within a few months and is anything but healthy to eat.
I 100% agree.
That’s why I won’t buy it. I’ve got a cast iron griddle that fits on my Coleman two burner stove. It works just fine
Everything look good. But I'm not to sure about long term on that aluminum griddle. Also can't cut on top of it, it will scratch.
The aluminum top is its biggest negative. Only time will tell on how long it will last. I hope since I will use it just for camping I will get some life out of it.
@@griddlecookeatandmorehow’s the top holding up?
I was going to say I thought you used to 36-inch for everything
I do mainly. But I can fit this in the camper.
What? No Scrapple? 😉
No scrapple here in St Louis. I have to head east to find it.
Aluminum griddle surface…..not interested
I was hesitant on buying but I thought if I use it camping it should last longer. Other than the top I love the griddle.
Getting ready to. Buy one
wait 6 months and see how many people are whining about how scratched up it is. You can re-season a cast iron griddle, but all you can do with this is replace it.
Some one will make a aftermarket cast iron top
Maybe I should, my million dollar idea. Time to execute , if you want to invest let me know . This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of the next Apple. You can call me Steve Jobs for now.
No butter on the hash browns? That is a crime
Typically I use butter flavored oil like restaurants use. I rarely use real butter on hash browns.
I like that grill except for that weak ass lid and hinge
It is a flimsy lid but it gets the job done. It's a little beast to cook on.
I wanted one until you revealed that it's aluminum....
I am working on fabbing a steel top for it.
Hell yeah! Keep us updated.
Sorry no aluminum tops for me…. So unlike Blackstone.
Definitely the biggest downfall of this griddle. Blackstone missed this I think. If it wasn't for my UA-cam channel I would not have bought this griddle. I will say it is pretty bad ass but unfortunately the non stick will eventually wear out
Video was ruined with music
You mean you can't make it 1min and 14 seconds.
@@griddlecookeatandmore the people have spoken read the comments sorry man
Yeah like 5 comments out 52000 views. Unfortunately I will never make everyone happy.
The music is just in the intro lol. Fast forward through it.
Blackstone sucks. I got one a month ago and it won't get hot enough to cook anything. It has a gap all the way around the area between the burner and the griddle plate where all the heat goes. You can burn your hand if you hold it next to the side of the danged thing, but have no heat where you're supposed to cook. Get any other brand but Blackstone.
Well you didn't get this model. This griddle has no gap like the other models and gets hot as hell. The one you bought sounds like there was a gas issue because it should get the surface over 500 degrees when on high.
What's with the stupid music? Show the stove already!
It only last a minute. You will make it.
Eggs are burnt, try using it for a while before making a video 🤦♂️
If you come over for breakfast I will be sure to pull your eggs off sooner for you. Thanks for watching.

aluminium grill top, definitely a deal breaker
It's the major downfall for sure. I figured I'm just using it for camping and not daily use so I think I will get some life out of it.
@@griddlecookeatandmore I love these black stone griddles and have just bought the 22” for the caravan slide out, no clue why they did this one in aluminium, if it works it works but the whole idea is about the carbon steel top and the seasoning, your food looks delicious anyway.
Aluminium 🤮🤮
You are correct and this is the biggest downfall to the griddle. I'm looking to see if someone can fabricate a steel top for it
