    Nice job and great video!
    I would be more careful with brake cleaner on rubber parts as they will dry out and crack over time.

    Thanks for the video and a very good walkthrough each step! How did you lift up the A6 C7 safely using this type of lift? Did you use jack pads (special pucks) for the lifting points, maybe some extra padding? Considering the width of the lift-ramps, did you have any other problems while lifting?

    • @TheKeenMechanic
      @TheKeenMechanic  Рік тому

      Thanks for your message and feedback. This is a great lift and it is very safe to use. I have special rubber blocks for the jack points. I got a set with the lift and also bought 2 different sets with different height for different vehicles and applications.

      @@TheKeenMechanic The design of that febi filter i think might be better. It has a felt seal at the base. Both the bosch and mann filter i have used so far were plastic, no seal as such. Do you know what the audi OE is like?

    • @myroncaldeira8193
      @myroncaldeira8193 4 місяці тому +1

      @@TheKeenMechanic Actually the small o ring is for the filler/drain bolt on the oil filter cap which I think is 13mm. If you look closely the inside the 35mm nut, there is another bolt inside of it and the o ring goes on that.

    Fancy servicing my 2012 A6 C7? I've just picked up some oil, and oil filter, fuel filter and air filter. It's a shame most mechanics can't be trusted or bother to do a proper job.

      @@TheKeenMechanic I'll give it a go pal, and you're right, nothing beats that peace of mind knowing its been done properly with due care and attention. I've almost finished my project which I started 5 months ago, an extension at the back of the house, quoted 15-25k, I decided with the help of UA-cam and with time on my hands to crack on with it myself and it's almost done, total cost so far... 3k. Needed a brickie for one day, a plasterer for one day but the rest was myself with the help of friends when they could spare a few hours here and there. Anything is possible if you're determined enough.

      @@adzmanchester Exactly. Well said. About 15 years ago I was like most people who pay someone else for everything around the house. I must say I was lucky I never had to pay rent so the extra money went towards tools. Now I can work with Wood (high end furniture making) Metal (welding and fabrication) I work on anything that has an engine in it, I am currently learning electrical work and plan on taking a course on bricklaying. I hope in less than 5 years to be very self sufficient. I don't only do it for saving money but because I enjoy it, I can do what I want, how I want and when I want. Good to hear you will give it a go and please do let me know how you get on🤝

    Very good video but why febi oil and febi filter ? Why you didnt use Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 or Motul 8200 X Clean ? Febi is bad … poor Audi

    • @TheKeenMechanic
      @TheKeenMechanic  Рік тому

      I normally use Castrol Edge but I have been told Febi have very high quality oil. I think even if this oil is not as high quality as others it is still better than no oil changes. This car gets an oil change every 5k miles or even less so it shoudn't be a problem. I don't believe Febi will ruin their reputation by buying low quality oils. They have been on the market since 1844 😉

      @@MrPetik147 I have been using Castrol Edge for the past 15 years on more than 10 cars/vans and I have not had any engine issues. In fact when I took a few of my engines apart they were so clean at over 150 000 miles. I was very impressed I can highly recommend Castrol to everyone who wants to try it.
