- One of the biggest, powerful runners in NFL history. Known as "The Bus", Bettis took defenders for a ride, usually stopping in the endzone. Bettis ran for over 13,000 yards and 91 rushing touchdowns along with being a 2x All Pro, 1993 NFL Rookie of the Year, a Hall of Famer, and a Super Bowl Champion.
To the guys criticizing the Bus nickname, he was called that because he would take you with him when you tried to tackle him.
Lmao cuz he took you for a ride!
Exactly it. It’s because he took these kids to school when he ran the ball. One of the most impressive careers when you consider his style of play and position
I thought u was the only obe
I crying I miss football
He was a beast. He even trucked and ran over Brain Urlacker when urlacker was in his prime with the bears.
Urlacher sucks he got his ankles broken by Tom Brady
@@qualicumjack3906That play pisses me off to this day. Tillman was always my favorite Bear.
@@qualicumjack3906your comment made zero sense urlacher was a great player 🤡 ✌️
He trucked Urlacher in the end zone also lol dude was a monster.
This was a fun era of football to be a part of as a kid. People like him and Allstot were some of the master power runners/big backs.
I showed my girlfriend a picture of The Bus and asked her what position he played. She said "football player". That guy was wrong.
Talking about how he ain’t fast. Bro there’s multiple clips of him in here running away from defensive backs. He had good speed, good enough athleticism, and elite size. Put that all together and you get a hall of fame player.
And was from Detroit 🔥
The nickname was most fitting....he was "The Bus" because he carried tacklers with him.
Man the stuff about his daughter got me choked up. Great guy, he deserved every success and blessing. Nobody runs as hard as he does anymore.
Heck yea! Jerome Bettis is everything you want in a franchise player too. A humble, fun-lovin’ guy. He could be as focused & tough as anyone in the league yet he also treated people withe respect, you could tell how much he loved his family, the respect he had for his rays. Thats why Pittsburgh loved him and he cut his own career path from the day he put on the black & gold. I was a JB fan at Notre Dame, i liked him at the Rams too, but Pittsburgh was where he belonged. All time great, and a throw back to a forgone era of football! Excuse me for all of that, your comment inspired me to add to it!

When will we see this again? It's been what ......16 - 19 years since then.
Legarette blount?

@@SneakyGang412 closest I could think of. Ay Lendale white honorable mention
Derek Henry??????????
Jerome Bettis was a huge beast as a powerful back who ran over his opponents. Those defensive players didn’t want to tackle him at all. He stood 5 foot 10 and weigh 254 pounds. He earned the nickname “The Bus” due to his large size and running style. Salute to #36 Jerome Bettis!!!
When friends are playing a round of golf and one leaves a 6 inch putt, they'll just say "pick it up" or "gimme" acknowledging that it was a done deal. When Bettis was facing 3rd and 1, I'm sure opposing coaches were willing to concede the first down and let them "pick it up"
He ran Ed Reed ass flat tf over 😮
3:29 "Ask a wife or a girlfriend what position you think he plays..." You think they actually know the names of the positions?
LOL
Point guard?
That’s funny. Just a few days ago my girl said Troy Polamalu was her all time favorite Steelers WR 😂
@@SneakyGang412 lmaoooo 🤣🤣🤣
i do 🙋🏽♀️
The Bus was amazing
1 gear ⚙ "I'm coming at chaaa"
Detroit..... stand the hell up for the BUS
Bro I played for a 12 youth league and I'm 150 lbs 4'11 and my coaches said I was like Jerome Bettis 😂 btw I play 6 positions including defensive linemen
Ok ... Lie some more, I bet you were last running grids, pads add 10lbs
as a dude who never made it past 2nd string safety, I CALL BULLSHIT.
football stolen valor is crazy lmfao. you didnt have to type anything, but instead you typed that load of shit.
Little known fact, that SB team had trays of mozzarella sticks and trays of cold cuts on the side line for every game 😆
Best steelers back ever. And one of the best steelers ever..
1:30 crazy asf that man moving like the juggernaut Df😮💨🥹😂
Is Jerome Bettis related to Elaine Bettis from The Jerry Seinfeld Show.
He should've played the Juggernaut in Deadpool
People straight up disrespect the school bus. There is a reason why they entrust the humble school bus with the communities future. Compared to any other common vehicle it may as well be a tank.💯
Here comes the 🚌🚍
Bowling alley bar fly: Can I get your son's number?
Momma Bettis: Of course, its 36.
🤓
Bus used to run dudes over. I miss this era
Detroits own
Being from Pittsburgh I wish I was able to see him I only remember that fumble and winning the superbowl
The thing was you had to really set up to tackle him so it made it easier for him to side step or juke a little
If I was playing against the bus, I won't try to tackle him, I would try to trip him instead
Haha 👍🏼👍🏼😅 the Bus had those quick feet for a big man….he’d hurdle a trip attempt and keep on truckin’!
The commentary on this video calling him fat was so ridiculous lol. He was strong af and that doesn't come from being fat
yall sleeping on natrone
#MikeTolbert would have been the next Bus!! If he would have stayed health. He was a DAWG!!
IF. and I say IF!! Tolbert would have stayed healthy and he had a decent line like #DerrickHenry got he would be in that golden jacket in due time.
To anyone who thinks bettis is overrated, please stop and listen to this. Bettis was a rare combination of power and speed at the running back position. He was the size of a fullback but could turn on the jets for a long run. He was also very tough and hard to tackle. He was a 2 time first team all pro, and at one point in time, he was the 5th all-time leading rusher. Bettis rushed for 1,000 yards in 6 straight seasons, around half of his 13 year career
1:39 the absolute dumbest thing I’ve ever heard ever. “No u don’t get paid enough for that!” They making fucking millions
My friends mom would stomp and sound like jerome bettis bus on a iso run tracking from bedroom to kitchen to fry stuff and wake us each morning. Esp if she expected any booz or weed or oversleeping. #nfl #joerogan #elonmusk #ye #ufc #snl #timpool #russellbrand #projectveritas #wwe #ncaa #alexjones
1:38 if you get paid over $1m/yr you aren't allowed to say you don't get paid enough to do anything.
Nope. You want to be a bus...he'll take your for a long ride every time.
Little known fact, Bettis practiced ballet dance to enhance his footwork. It fuckin shows, the man was a dancer on the field at full sprint speed.

Pore production showing him with Rams during his last season. Not good.
“Smashmouth football baby!” Says it all
0:28 apparently they don't understand the concept of the name bus. No matter how many men would jump on him and try to tackle him, they would just take a ride to the end zone. They were taking the number 36 bus
You won't see running backs like this ever again
A bus picks up people and Carries them to their final destination
The end zone! 😎
Bettis is the reason why I'm a😢 $teelers fan 💯
Bettis + Palamalau on the Steelers was the peak of football, at least in my life time.
@@scumbaggoFact Bro 💯
BUS!!!! AKA YOUR GOING FOR A RIDE IN GROUPS!! 🙄
This was the type of bus that represented JB

Go stand in front of a bus and see what happens
😂😂 like a scat back
Quikfeet!!!
Pause lmaoo thick is krazy
Ray Lewis destroyed this guy
Top 5
The best part is that The Bus got to ride off into the sunset. Many players don't get that opportunity to win a Super Bowl and retire after that. He got to play in a Super Bowl where he grew up and say that he was retiring in his own way with friends and family all watching. That's the perfect way he got to end his career because many people don't get to do that.
Did dude really just say they don't get paid enough to tackle someone lollll.....smfh
Best fullback in history
Was a halfback bro
He was a running back dude
@@392_Reasons @invisibot Bettis was a fullback, wtf are you fellas smoking?
They should have played Been Waitin on the BUS ALL DAY at the start of every 4th qtr !
Jerome would have the best of Joe as Joe gor the best of the Bus....,
THE BUS
Why don't I remember him in a rams jersey
Lifetime saved by film
idw see him in a chargers Jersey
Don't care what people say they robbed the hawks for that ring
The Seahawks eventually got over the hump and won a ring in 2014.
Jeremy Stephens is SOFT!..... LOL. (JUST ASK HIS WIFE!)
Yep with Russell Wilson
SO THAT WILLIE PARKER 75 yard TD was CAUSED BY THE REFS SHUT UP !!!!
The Steelers made many game changing plays in that game. The Sea Chickens did not
