@@xijordyixxijordyix4392 it’s essential because when you put the liner down all the soot will be forced along with it and into your room at bottom as you or your assistant is pulling it down the chimney. A Horrible mess that can be avoided by cleaning the chimney first.

How necessary is it tho do a chimney sweep before you install a flue liner ? Is it really that necessary to do so?
