    All chimneys need to be cleaned, including liners! Gas, oil, wood, propane and pellet. Have your chimney inspected or swept clean every year, especially your heating chimney flue passageway. Remember the acid that comes with burning will eat through even stainless steel and aluminum. The efflorescence(salt) in natural gas is very acidic and also creates a lot of water vapor, It’s a good idea to get it cleaned for a structural integrity purpose and remove the efflorescence. Don’t forget to have your dryer vent cleaned out annually to prevent lint build up and safety problems! Most chimney sweeps will also clean dryer vents. Call a chimney sweep and get it done and be safe!

    This Old House before safety was a thing, apparently. Nothing like some remodeling work in your leather jacket or Christmas sweater. Lol

    No insulation means hot cresote condenses up on the colder pipe builds up and plugs chimney. The stove will "puff" into the house and then emergency cleaning call to a sweep. It will plug up sometimes before even the season was up.. I had this occur on short 15 ft chimney so imagine 35 foot. I suggest all people insist on the insulation wrapped with the special insulation, aluminized on one side and protected with expandable SS mesh. I have it and it is great and not selling anything. The pipe they are installing is tough and all they say it is. The cap is for you out there that are experts, not I.

    In this video he shows a arrow and said the direction was important for condensation at 1:46 in the video ua-cam.com/video/RcVxKqkcCMc/v-deo.html . I can't find a arrow or any types of marking that shows which way to install it . How do you know from looking at the pipe which end goes up ?

    No insulation! , wtf!

    • @trevino37
      @trevino37 5 років тому

      that's what I thought but maybe a boiler does not require outer insulation?? not sure but I do know that wood stove liners do require outer insulation to the flex liner regardless if its a single or double wall. Apparently, some chimney guys don't even know that or purposely install them without it to save and pocket the extra money and cost.

    Chimney top is all wrong, should have a proper code compliant crown with bond break, drip edge, and flashing, with two inch overhang

      The connection at the bottom is wrong as well.

    Single wall garbage! Not ment for wood burning nor oil fed boilers!
