If it is peeling it's bonded leather and this won't fix that. I had that same problem and I will never buy bonded leather again.
@@jenolinger8802 Help I ruined my red leather couch with bleach stains. Can I use Shoe Polish paste or spray paint to cover up the stain?
@@Rachel8031 The fade is the least of your worries with bleach stains. That can be fixed just like this process. But the thing that is the worst with bleach products is that it critically dries up the leather. And leather absolutely needs to stay supple and pliable otherwise it will crack or even break apart.

I work for a furniture retailer, this is 100% how we color match leather and vinyl upholstery after a patch or repair in house.
My husband used this on our sofa recently. Our sofa looked just like the one in the video so we used the same three colors of spray. We were so happy with the results!! We left the sofa in the garage for a week just to make sure it was good to go. Now that it has been in the house for a week (with little use) we can see that the really bad area we addressed is already starting to lighten up. Please let us know where we went wrong and the best way to fix it again without taking this HUGE sofa back out to the garage!

Question- after watching many videos to repair the same exact problem as your video. Searching for products etc. Most products are a liquid acrylic rub on and not a spray on product. However a previous couch I owned. The tech came out and when he fixed a spot. He did use a Mohawk Brand spray similar to what your using here. So my question is.... because I don't understand the differences. What are the pros and cons of each method?

Yes, wipe it down first. The idea is to match it. But you can cover the whole thing.

Should I use the leather conditioner then paint/ seal? Or paint let dry and apply the conditioner?
That really depends on the type of leather it is and the type of wear. If the leather is dry j always condition before paint but make sure to get all the excess conditioner off first

Yes, works on any type of leather.
How long can you wait until applying seal / conditioner - and sit on it?
10 minutes between coats. Wipe the conditioner off after 20 minutes. Then it is good to go.

great video, thanks!! how long should I wait between coats? It seems like many light coats are the key here, I want to make sure I have enough time between each layer.
Usually, it's just about 2 minutes. Less is better you can always add more.

Are you prepping the surface in any way aside from basic cleaning? Do you think adding conditioner before spaying might interfere with the paint bonding?
Also, I wish those color options came in 12oz. They only offer 4.5oz which does not seem to go very far on a couch...
