Funny Story: Immediately after filming this video several days ago, I watched an episode of The Bear and crazy enough, of all the episodes I could’ve been on, Mk.gee plays in the intro of this particular one. What are the odds? Maybe that’s worth a like?

Great video! (Long comment coming for a recommendation) I also have been listening to Mk.Gee and his album Two Star and the Dream Police was great. Alesis is my favorite song and the way he sings “leave it to me to kick door” or poet line. DNM could be my favorite as well on some others days.
How I found Mk.Gee was through a tweet of another artist one I feel is really good as well. I have to ask you… Have You Heard of Quadeca??
Now for starters you said you like the guitar aspects and checking your channel I can see why (btw good stuff). So for that I recommend you these: Easier, Guide Dog, picking up hands, born yesterday, Maybe Another Day, knots These songs are his “guitar” songs
However he still uses guitar plucks and riffs and other usage of guitar, strings, and woodwind all that stuff.
Now you mentioned ambience and “artsy” stuff well this should cover it: The Feeling Of Drifting Apart, tell me a joke, Sisyphus, Texas Blue, don’t mind me, fractions of infinity. Are some start points.
Now I’m just going to list general great tracks, like maybe not as deep or anything but good to listen to:
Back Up To Earth, What’s It To Him, U Tried That Thing Where Ur Human, U DONT KNOW ME LIKE THAT, Being Yourself, Please Don’t Wake Me Up, Under My Skin, Dustcutter, A La Carte, Can’t You See? All My Life, Swallowed The Key
Now there one more section which is his rap section since he does rap but it varies in style and thus quality on how you like it: Candles On Fire, Guess Who, Even If I Tried, Burning Bridges/Long Day, I Make It Look Effortless, Way Too Many Friends are good for this section.
Now obviously listening to these album wise would be the best since his style and abilities changed has he progressed further has an artist.
In order from a good start in his career is
    “From Me To You”
“I Didn’t Mean To Haunt You”
    “Scrapyard”
    However some people say
I “ Mean To Haunt You”
    “Scrapyard”
    “From Me To You”
With the exception of the album “Scrapyard” his album are conceptual (one more than the other but both still rooted in conception.” and is worth having genius open to explain certain lyrics however some lyrics due foreshadow and thus genius will spoil the album experience so be careful.
Lastly I do recommend the album movie(s) for a watch to add onto the experience while listening and I believe those are captioned. You search up his UA-cam name then album movie (example “Quadeca album movie”) on UA-cam you’ll find his channel and his two album movies for “I Didnt Mean To Haunt You” and “From Me To You”. Also Scrapyard is just the throwaways between his next album and his last.
Lastly lastly, he has vinyl exclusives, ARGs songs, and some other stuff that is cool to search for after you listen to everything else if you do end up enjoying him.
If it isn’t obvious he’s my favorite artists…
And if you already know of him and don’t like his music or do then this was huge waste of time :(((((( hopefully not :)))))
Anyways for real though hope this sparks something and keep up that guitar you’re good! And have a good voice!

Good pop musician. Rebirth of guitar music, not so much. Listened through his latest album and nothing sounded new to me. Still refreshing compared to the over technical tidal wave. Not really abstract or pioneering though. Maybe his earlier albums are more experimental?

@@LaytonMechaley Yes and I listened through his earlier stuff. It’s nice music, nothing but respect. Guess I was underwhelmed given the title. May not be a rebirth for me sonically, but I’d agree they can help rebirth the popularity of more soulful guitar based music.
