Might want to look into it, but currently Arcanists is in danger of being forced to rebrand. One of the two major people working on the game is blackmailing the other in exchange for his leaving the project, and Jagex is currently requiring he stay on the project. If you want to know more, its all talked about in the annoucements channel on their discord.
So many fond memories of me and the boys playing Arcanist at school. Only problem we had with it was of course the membership that we didnt have the money for
I used to grind surveys on f8ve accounts to pay that while I was ten. Definitely fraud, but who is going to arrest me for what I did for the right reasons?
@@HummelLogan1 Problem is, they way he described this Java game was not my envisioning of a great, modern RTS game. Plus I'm curious to know if the lore is really all that developed. @@HummelLogan1That minigame kind of sucked and nobody played it. That's why they removed it in RS3. Not sure if it exists in OSRS, never actually checked.
@@stickman2012 Yeah as I remember it AoG was a turn based strategy or turn based tactics game not RTS. Do remember it being a lot of fun, different from what your imagining though, which would be really nice.
Miner Disturbance was my fav after Arcanists, getting those high score achievements after planning out the perfect heist and escaping the lava was so hype, and it got me into future games like Steamworld Dig
Arcanists, Dungeon Assualt, Steel Sentinels and Armies of Gelinor Those were my go to games to play. I couldn't remember if there was a membership deal if you did both RS and Funorb but I defs recall subbing to both on some occasions. Sometimes one or the other.
I loved Kickabout League man. It was so good. Half our class in primary school played it. It had more depth to it than the tutorial obviously. It was a great multiplayer game. Different classes of football players to choose from for your team. Cool tricks. Neat market system to upgrade your squad. You didn't do it justice in this video.
My favorite memory in funorb was being in a high level ranked match and being even with my opponent except they had a dragon on a map that was almost fully destroyed. I told him that dragons could swim and then he drowned his dragon and lost.
Hey! Thanks for checking out the Alterorb and Funorb remake projects! I'm one the developers and staff members for a few of these. Notably, Arcanists and Chrome Conflict (the full remake and continuation of Steel Sentinels including a 3D version of the game). I hope you have enjoyed your time looking through all of the projects and history of them. Sadly, many years of progress, planning, artwork, models, music, etc have been lost due to Forum closures and lost links for time. It still amazes me how many talented people came out of the shadows to breathe new life into these beloved games, not to mention that some of these have turned from a passion project into full playable games with a team dedicated to working on them. Feel free to reach out to us in the future if you have questions. :D
Hey man, do you know if there's any chance the Armies of Gielinor campaigns will be recreated at any point? I'd love to replay those, but as far as I could tell, they're not available in the current AoG remake.
In all fairness, I wasn't able to dedicate a lot of time into each game for the sake of getting the video out, so many of my thoughts are first impressions from the first 15-30 minutes. I'm sure these games are great with enough time invested!
I use to alternate between rs2 and funorb. Bouncedown, crazy crystals, dungeon assaultm, arcanists, and armies of gielenor were my favorites. I played arcanists again the day after it came out on Steam. I highly recommend giving it a try!
The antlers were 2006. That’s the same year I started!!!!! I remember 1 time playing on funorb and I ended up playing a game against Zezima. It was right after he was made mod on rs2. Pretty cool experience.
Honestly while it wasn't exactly the greatest games a lot of these were really promising concepts and given how much fun it was to play as kids it actually inspired quite a lot of indie games today! A lot of my own projects are partially inspired by the games i played on good ol' funorb when i was a wee lad, including one of my current games. It makes me a little sad to see you just glance some of the better ones, but given that they need some time and skill investment to actually be fun it's understandable lol But yeah, i think we can all agree on the one true goat of this site, which is indeed Arcanists.
Played hours of miner disturbance. Loved that game, almost took notes from dwarf fortress because once you go too far down you better get out fast or too much “fun”
After the death of oldschool with the removal of wildy and intro of trade limit etc i played a lot of fun orb. One game in particular, it was a turn based SWAT game similar to like CnC:Red Alert. Many fond memories
Read the title of this video and never clicked faster. The way that game preservation has been treated lately had me sadly thinking I’d never get to play my favorite flash games again forever. Really hope this happens!!!!
By chance anyone remembers summoning game with rs gods? I think it was online strategy/pvp game. I just remeber that it cost coins summoning something like saradomin monsters to fight other players summoning zamorak/armadyl/bandos monsters... it was so long ago my memory is foggy about it
"...because we all know that's a middle-aged man in his underwear." Me, a middle-aged man in his underwear watching this video: No need to call me out like that, man, sheesh... I played with a couple people on arcanists, one person said my dad was gay and i was somehow horrified and convinced they were right, even though i never met my dad. Idk why thats a memory for me

Bonus points if you can find the hidden Chad 👀
Found him. Left side of the screen, 0:00 .
people who was playing arcanist before it came to steam was so nice. that game still in my top 10 after so long

that was my favorite part. versing members and still winning with the default arcane book
armies of gilanor was one of my fav flash games back in the day
If Jagex made an RTS on Steam based on the Third Age God Wars, then that would be sick.
Bro they’ve had an RS rts for like 10 years 😂 armies of gielenor

Steel Sentinels 4v4 fleet team match.

Dungeon Assault was very fun, that's what I played most of the time and Arcanists
Based DA enjoyer.
As someone who recently quit clash of clans after 10 years id rather play DA
dungeon assault may actually be better than the new dungeon keeper. :|
Ive been looking for AoG since finding Arcanist again. Happy to see it might come back!
dude thank you for letting me know!!! been waiting soooo long for this!
Steel Sentinels and Arcanists were my favorite. Great vid!

Arc2 is a blast. You can play casual, do FFAs or teams, or play a super high skill meta in the tournament scene
