There will never be another Elvis. I am a black man that felt his “soul.” He truly opened the door for black entertainers. He helped mainstream black music on white radio stations.
IF ONLY YOU COULD RID YOURSELF OF BIAS AND LISTEN TO WHAT JAMES BROWN, JACKIE WILSON AND SO MANY OTHER SAID ABOUT HIM. READ YOUR HISTORY OF WHAT BLACK ENTERTAINERS SAID. NOT YOUR OWN IGNORANCE.
After watching many videos of Elvis, Visiting Graceland 3 times, reading the books these men wrote about him, and watching the Movie Elvis that just came out with Austin Butler, I realized that the world and fans like me can't get enough of Elvis. I mean I am always reading or looking for something to know more about Elvis. The world was cheated out of Elvis when he died so young, he lived such a fast life and it ended so quickly. When I think of what Elvis was dealing with all the years, I felt he was confused all the time, it's impossible to make sense of anything when everywhere you went, he was the focus of everybody. I always thought how great it would be to talk to Elvis alone where no one is watching, just talking to this great entertainer and person. I miss Elvis more than normal people. Long live the King"
It is very interesting. And why he seemed so self destructive. Have went through periods of everything Elvis, went to Graceland once, would like to go again and to Tupelo. The world will never have another Elvis and I believe that is why he endures with more and more fans. We don’t want to let go of someone that was so unique and had a God given voice, because he certainly did.
ELVIS was blessed with a great voice and beautiful face and body. He had a magical sense sense of humor that drew you to him. I am so happy that the guys decided to share thier personal stories.
Yes he had a great voice but not a great body. He had narrow shoulders and sunken chest. He had an attractive face but not a nice body. Now a days many men have better bodies
In a short time, Elvis lived way more than most of us , gave to other more than most of us, and loved more than most of us , he touched so many with his beautiful soul . He really was an angel .
I don't know, I've always thought his vocals were best per each particular time/times of his life! I guess what I'm trying to say is like every few years as he aged and his voice matured!
@@richardchristman8913 he got better when he got the monitors so he could hear himself sing. He liked it. He wanted to make sure he held the microphone at the right place to get the sounds he wanted. Have you noticed he will pull the microphone away at times then closer? That was so he could adjust to the sound he wanted. JD does that too.
Elvis was a phenomenon. His voice was magic; it was rich, full, melodic and rhythmic. So incredibly sexy. And--bonus, his looks facial, and physical, how he moved. He was incredibly sexy. Even to his death. He was ill, older, suffering from fluid retention. He was still extremely sexy. No one around him understood his health problems. And from what I understand, even his actual thinking. He kept his personal philosophy to himself.
Incredibly so yes, my mum and sister were devoted to the King 👑, I was raised on his LPs and movies, along with the Beatles, and still rate him above the rest. 🇬🇧☘️📚🙏
Between Col Parker, the atmosphere of Vegas, and his lifestyle, he was put in an early grave, sadly. He would have been 82 today. A bright candle burns quickly.
Elvis had choices like any one else. Yes, grew up poor wrong choices of friends and not checking out your manager, letting him make all decisions, when he could have refuse too take rest. You could still be a giver and love money. He had a first home , why did he buy Graceland, expensive cars so, on. If he did not like money he would kept simple life. Was he that stupid not to see, what Parker was doing? Was he that Stupid being pushed in a marriage, precilla was a young kid, of 14 wanted 7 or 8 years to get married, there is something wrong with this picture. Than his mom comes not happy start drugs and drinking, he acts like kid. Why was she depressed? If she wanted to live a poor life she had a choice. It seems like real life got mix with fake world it wasn’t real world for him. When you play different character I believe your mind gets mixed up. Sometimes that would t drive person mad. These hollywood people are not themselves. There some that cannot play the character stay who they are.
I was only 13 when he die, it left like a dark cloud or something hanging around For the first ten yrs, it felt like god died. Can't put it into word just right. But he was truly missed.
Oh yes, they had fun together. But when Elvis was in a bad place they missed the fun and they let him fall like a hot potato. They got famous because of Elvis and they should have told certain things without the dirty details.
No matter what- Elvis was King. And if only for a brief time, he had a relationship he valued with Priscilla. His story was so tragic, it's hard to overlook the sadness..and I LOVE his music..especially the blues. He was SO talented..❤
What was so tragic? He had a great life! Have u not heard My Way, only a selected few can live up to this songs motto,!😈did what many of us wish we could do with the money he earned! 💖, Partied, had a beautiful loving wife who put up with his bratty asz,had a child, friends that cared for him,ShT! Alive or passed on this man was(is) a $$$ making machine, ( not only in life ) but even after his death he was TCB. He helped many especially his ex wife & daughter & his daughter s kidz what about that Baz & Austin I like the movie but not real story! many, many people ever 💗 some 1so.
Elvis seemed to have the biggest heart, but complex as a person. He surrounded himself with people he liked and enjoyed, but they couldn't tell him "no". I think he took these guys as friends to show they could be cool too. They were young, it was a boys club, but he enjoyed life the way he wanted. Sometimes you need people in your life that say "stop".
They basically killed him to have sex. Pitiful. They bragged about their screwing women who had sex with Elvis. What real man would do that. Arrange their whole life to have sex with women who wanted someone else? If Elvis didn't have these "yes men" he may have lived longer.
If it wasn't for the book Elvis What Happened? I wouldn't be an Elvis fan today. To me, these books showed me Elvis was a prodigy, a musical genius! And sadly any genius lives on the boarder line of insanity. How could he have lived a normal life? How he lived as long as he did is beyond me.
He was what people called a twinless twin. He was constantly in search for that other person. His mother told him, it was up to him to live for the two since his twin was lost at birth.
When you have a group of people whose biggest accomplishment in life was taking Elvis' sloppy seconds it speaks volumes to their character. Truly vile.
Tbh most people would be in awe to be in his circle. They probably never thought it'd end that way and should have tried to stop his addictions. They ruined their marriages for that lifestyle and probably regretted it
The more I hear about the real Elvis, the more I love him. Elvis was on the same spiritual journey. I have been on, for my e ntire life. I have always adored Elvis, now I see that he was more than just a man, more than the biggest entertainer the world has ever seen!
Sadly these guys were nothing but paid enablers for a man who obviously was suffering from major depression and serious addictions. As long as everyone was getting paid it made no difference about the state of this suffering human being.
I just thought about what you wrote think about it The King Of Rock & The Of Pop(Michael Jackson) died pretty much the same way All the money in the world they were still lost souls looking for that forever love & purpose.
Great documentary!! Thanks for sharing🙏I’m a huge huge Elvis fan. Love him so much❤️I’m so grateful these guys shared there stories and memories as most have passed on now. You can see that they Loved Elvis and of course Elvis Loved them. I don’t blame them for what happened. It’s not there fault.

Instead of the Memphis maffia these 4-5 crooks should have been called the Memphis leeches, who just took advantage of a good guy like Elvis. So disgusting to listen to their stories of how they would get the girls that would come to see Elvis, those were girls I'm sure these loosers could never had, Had their been on their own, they kept Pricilla away from her husband and contributed greatly to the divorce, I'm sure they had years of toasting to the divorce after Elvis divorced. Very selfish people, always thinking of what they could get from him.... they never understood the depth of the man, Elvis knew he was serching for something spiritual, too bad he ended up with a bunch of blood suckers who isolated him from the people who really loved him. This is indeed a hard watch.
@@AT-cy7im On point: I feel the same way. It also was different times back than( right now it is extremly painfull for Elvis's daughter passed away. Lisa was instrumental in keeping her father's estate intact. I know how you feel ( I grew up very similar, and nobody told me to "stop smoking pot") Honestly, this is a very difficult time for Elvis's friends. I think they really respected Elvis alot. At this present time the Pricilla is very upset that her only daughter passed away. No hard feelings, the whole crew, and Pricilla are dealing with a death in the Presely family right now.
I think I just want to be gracious towards Elvis Presley and his friends and family. So what if he had faults . Don't we all? He gave so much positivity and happiness in his music and he was so generous in every way. I don't think it's too much to ask to extend the same grace to Elvis that we all will need from God in the end. May God's grace always rest upon the man Elvis Presley who lived in Graceland. Amen 🙏
they kinda threw him under the bus...never fails to amaze me at the lack of loyalty in the human being....Elvis, despite all his shortcomings was loyal total those guys.....
Maybe, but know one will ever know the whole story. Elvis never had the chance to tell his side of what these guys were saying. I will say this though, if he was really always thinking what was his purpose for being on this earth and why he was chosen to be Elvis, then just maybe these guys had no idea for awhile who Elvis really was until later. They were along for the ride and lots of fun. Sounds like he was keeping up the image for them too.
These guys were bored in the late 60's because Elvis was into the search for truth and the party was old. 10 yrs later they were mad because he wouldn't straighten up.
Anyone who got the time to get to be and knew Elvis would write a book it’s just the WAY FAME GOES ! We all would if we could have known Elvis all of would !
I ALWAYS AS A TEENAGER THOUGHT ELVISCLIVED AN UPSTANDING LIFE! I DIDNT KNOW HE SMOKED OR HAD ANY BAD TRAITS! I THOUGHT HE TRIED TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION. CLEAN CUT! WE KNEW NONE OF THESE THINGS. SMOKING REALLY SHOCKED ME! IM ALKERGIC TO IT.
Everyone to their own in this world but Elvis will remain the King of Rock n Roll and never be forgotten! He dedicated his life to 🎶 music for all us ! RIP ~
Elvis was the conduit for white people to fully embrace black music. He was not afraid! He took a lot of criticism for it but he had the backbone to stand for what he believed. The other thing Elvis could do was deliver the music the right way. Pat Boone couldn't do it. Andy Williams couldn't do it. No white singer could do what Elvis did but ELVIS. He had the name, the voice, the style, the confidence and the look! So even when the haters arrived, it didn't matter. Girls were passing out!
Wow, this was a VERY good documentary from Elvis and his gang/boys. What an extraordinary life they all have through him and together, like they have bounded in the life before, what they surely did and they will be together in the afterlife again, like Elvis, which is now together with his parents, grandson and the peoples from his life, they are gone now. And as we do, and then we meet Elvis, there must be masses of peoples on that place.....but hopefully we meet Jesus at first . Much love from Vienna😍
I got to see Elvis a couple of years before he died. He was Fat & age was taking its toll on him, he forgot a few song lines, but his voice was still absolutely flawless. He put on one hell of a show & nobody left disappointed
Looking at footage of him in the last years he wasn't exactly fat but he was overweight , we call that "Dad Bod" today and think it's cute. Fat is not a word I would use.
@@lizzyloucollectables2584 I have to Respectfully disagree Lizzy. I saw him and you can take it for what it's worth, but he was Definitely A Porker, yet despite all the extra weight, he was still Very Much Elvis, but most of the Panties thrown on stage were several to many sizes bigger, so a large segment of his Groupies had "Grown" right along with The King. I've always felt a lot of love and admiration for Elvis and that'll never change....Hell, I grew up listening to him sing and saw every one of his Cheesy Movies, but his last role in "Charro" was arguably his best...to me anyway & I've always thought that had that Supreme Greedy Asshole And Illegal Alien "Col. Tom Parker, either been hit by a Train or been Deported, and I favor the "Former" Solution, Elvis would have made an excellent Actor, in much the same way Frank Sinatra did, but Elvis would have been the better Actor, because he was such a "Sensitive" individual, But Sadly we'll never know. You have My Compliments And Best Regards DW
He wasn’t fat, just bloated from drug misuse and poor diet, and if you saw him a year before he died he was only 41, at the cradle of his middle years. Perspective my friend! 😊
RADIUM CLOCK They still are regular Joes. They’re actually pathetic, people only listen to them for Elvis stories and 90% of what they say is probably bullshit.
I’ve read and read and watched documentaries over the years and it’s sad to say there really was no saving the man! Like the guys said if you spoke up you were gone! He surrounded himself with yes men! On purpose of course !
He want yes men ,red and sonny fired because tel him about his drug problem, and he dont like it,he doesnt like the way lamar tell the truth in front of his face about the bullshits elvis doing in times,
@@tolistolis8277 Ahh your talking about the time he told Billy he was going to also fire Lamar and dick grove saying Lamar another one always bitching and telling him what to do lol
Elvis knew what it was like to be poor. Giving BIG gifts to poor people made him happy. Priscilla criticized Elvis for being almost broke at his death, but Elvis wasn't one to worship money. That's why he gave it so freely.
Let's say that he was almost broke not because he gave it to poor people but because he like to spend beyond common sense. He had everything, he bought anything that he desired
Thank you gentlemen for taking care of Elvis, as best that you could do. But ultimately he caused his own demise, do to drugs and over eating, and not taking better care of himself. He was truly loved by many. And there will only be one Elvis Presley.
As a former Meth/Heroin/everything else addict that was running from a higher calling I can relate. I too held it together for many years..until I couldn't anymore. Thanks be to God I got out alive 24 years ago.
Believe it or not, Jerry Reed, so it was said, was one of the guys to tell Elvis that he was the best-looking MAN he ever saw.. when they did Guitar Man together. ...

I think if elvis had fired the colonel and gotten new management then maybe elvis would've begun to perform in other countries and maybe not be taking all those pills and only God almighty knows but I truly believe that he would've lived a whole lot longer ....If I'm not mistaken but wasnt the colonel an illegal from The Netherlands and afraid he wouldn't be allowed back in the country therefore leaving him with no income which was like 50% of elvis's earnings ...but like I said this is me just picturing an Elvis Presley accomplishing much more
You are not entirely right. The reason why Elvis could not tour outside of the United States is because of his guns and pills, none of which he could carry in those quantities he had across borders. Nothing to do with the Colonel. In fact, the Colonel had contacts with some of the most politically influential people in the country and could easily make himself legal, but he was not bothered about it either.
That is a silly excuse, if the colonel was illegal and he was linked to the biggest star in the world, the US government would of known about it. If elvis thought that was a problem, he would just rang Nixon. "So hey Mr President my manager needs US citizenship, can you help out. Sure buddy". Job done. Nope Parker was tied to the mob and the mob controlled Parker, who controlled Elvis. Parker and the mob had something big on EP and it kept him the in the US forever.
Thank you Jerry so much for being the only one of those bums to be kind to Elvis then and right up until today, the 36th year of his passing. You are a class act.
@@rosemarysmith8483 To a point. But Joe went and kept Parker informed on what was going on behind Elvis'; back, so he wasn't as trustworthy as Jerry and Charlie.
Elvis had a depth of soul that allowed him to start seeking answers to more introspective questions that his entourage was holding him back from and keeping him from pursuing to a greater degree. He had outgrown their limited mentality and should have sought out health gurus to kick his drug dependence, reverse the drug abuse damage, get his insulin under control, get needed nutrients into his system and take back his health and lifestyle for a new beginning.
These guys were toxic as hell, they definitely did not actually care for him but rather their lavish lifestyles they got through him. Any real friend would have kept their feet firm on the ground to support him and kick his ass if he went off the rail, but they let him cause they themselves did. What a sad story! Maybe he secretly did actually escape that life and went on living incognito, who knows, he wouldn't be the first James Dean did it
Elvis did what he wanted to/ nobody held him back/he was making great money and he was comfortable being close to home/ let's be honest when you have a bad drug problem you always want to be close to home/ you would have to have that problem to understand 😉 I'm sure Elvis would have loved to do so much more and if he lived long enough maybe he could have kicked his demands and got to those places/

@@diningroomfish5470 furthermore EP being a father didn't help change his lifestyle for the better. Joe mentioning the later years of Elvis' life they tried to forget/deny he had a serious drug addiction is scandalous. The "Memphis Mafia" were his closest friends even at the time anyone could of said something like "We love man" or "We care about you Elvis, Please your going to kill yourself." I mean the Memphis Mafia sounds even by today standards really ridiculous, constant parties like their teenages on spring break or a late night escort party instead by the time EP died most were late 30s early 40s I mean come on most people have settled and mellowed by their late 30s especially.
Love Elvis Presley the music we hear today is because of the king of Rock n roll if there were no Elvis back then the music would not be like it is today
He ( Elvis) accomplish a lot in the short life he lived, many entertainers lived way past Elvis and never quite reach the same level , if any one did????who..
Thank you for this interview with the guys, gave me some insight of there life with Elvis. Elvis became a spiritualist, he was evolving into a higher power or anotherwords he was growing up his friend were still wanting to party and play.
Oh my, that first part is heartbreaking. Can you imagine. Elvis was a very serious and special. I still love and miss Elvis ❤and listen to his music everyday
I don't think Elvis' boys liked Larry Geller very much. He was a relative "newcomer" to the group, and I think they felt, along with Tom Parker, thought he may have exerted too much influence on him. But I think they were simply jealous. Geller was an intensely spiritual man (as opposed to "religious" which Elvis didn't particularly care for), and he taught him many things, largely through sharing his collection of spiritually-motivated books with him, like "The Prophet," which remained Elvis' favorite until the day he died. RIP, Elvis Aron Presley.
But I also think members of the Memphis Mafia didn't warm to Geller was because he was probably the most philosophical and intellectual member of the gang. Geller could speak to EP on an intellectual level, hence why they seem to get on like a house on fire. Whereas its clear from this interview the other members didn't have these taints most likely because they were the logistic and muscle guys.
I suggest y'all read Dr. Nick's book, Jerry Schilling's book & a book called, "Elvis: Destined to Die Young", by Sally Hoedel. There will be a lot explained. A LOT.
Have not read any of the books about Elvis & it's just too bad how worried he thought fans would react , whatever weakness were revealed would have only made him more human , more lovable. 💙
They helped dig Elvis's grave! The bandmates were the best influence he had. They really liked Elvis and EVERYONE only speaks well of him, despite some personal problems. They always emphasized the good things.
When it came to info about Elvis before and after his passing I'll only lend an ear to the ones closest to him and only if I see it come from their own lips. Elvis is gone so let him and family rest . Cherish the music and the memories.
They sound like a bunch of parasites waiting for the scraps to fall from the bosses table.Ive heard some stories about all these "Yes men" if they were that close ,why did he die? makes me sick.
Elvis died because he did not want to get the help he needed to get better. You can not help someone if they dont help themselves. Elvis was addicted to those pills and would do anything to get them. They could not have stopped him. It is very sad and tragic what happened to him, but ultimately it was of his own doing.
Yes. You are right when you said that Elvis was awesome. Awesome is putting it mildly when you are talking about Elvis. He was like an Angel from heaven. He maintained his committment to God with a few lapses because of the lifestyle he ended up having to deal with. He was the king and he was a prince among men.
Perfect example of prescription drug problem, everybody thinks by a doctor, its legal, and its medicine. Not just evis, michel jackso, monroe, anna Nicole smith, etc.
Michael Jackson dam well knew wtf he was doing. No one takes frigging anesthesia for sleep ffs. Not even the worst addicts. That's playing with death everyday. I mean they all actually knew wtf they were doing. Monroe was probably murdered btw
Elvis was physical perfection in my eyes. His voice was certainly awesome and he was such a generous man. I just wish he had found the internal strength to overcome needing all the pills to deal with life. There will never be another like him.
People can call these guy’s whatever they want but Elvis loved them. I think he was smart enough that if he didn’t think he could afford something he wouldn’t have it around.
Enjoyed watching this, there are a million others who would have loved to be with Elvis,he gave these guys everything and all that he wanted was loyalty’s and trust, and Elvis knows the truth, and that Is what matters, all I can say is when GOD created ELVIS he broke the mould, a very special man,who brought happiness to millions of people, and that he can be proud of,maybe he was put here, just to bring happiness to others, and he gave every sweat 😓 and tear to making people happy, and he succeeded in that, and that in it self is amazing, achievement, may he R.I.P god bless always, heaven is his home now,he is loved, with his momma! He doesn’t have to be anything else but just himself I can imagine the relief, guy count your blessing, and I will always rem Elvis as the first time I ever feel in love 😍 I’d watch him on the telly, and think my god he is gorgeous and the perfect looking man I have ever seen, and that still hasn’t changed in my eyes, like I said when god created Elvis he broke the mould xxx
Women don’t especially think that they are going to change them it’s thst a woman expects the man she marries to prefer her over other things in his life. She should be the one he wants to be with over anyone else. That’s what a woman expects. His buddies are fun but a man should prefer her over his buds. That’s all. They say she tried to change him? NO! I think a man should be as committed to her if he’s chased her to win her over then don’t just shelf her once he marries. That’s not fair. If he didn’t want to get married he shouldn’t have. But I do know Elvis did love Priscilla. He just wasn’t sure how to be married. He probably expected a wide to be like mom always there when he comes home. My husband and I were well matched cause I worked avd he worked. When we came together at the end of the day we were there. My husband was a drag racer. And I loved drag racing too. So whatever we had to do to achieve what we both loved then we did that. I know lots of women like that in drag racing. A drag racer can’t be married to a woman if she doesn’t love it too. You have to have things in common. And we did. Priscilla would have better off with Elvis if she had a life too to come back together at the end of the day. But being married to a performer of Elvis caliber is hard I’m sure no matter what. He didn’t want her going off to live and come back together at the end of the day. She was so young they didn’t know how to be together. So be it. He didn’t always confide in her his thoughts and Needs. It’s sad.
My father bears a good resemblance of him except my daddy is tone deaf lol, sadly I cry everytime I see these documentaries it reminds me my own daddy is not immortal either
@@tonyalandon3275 It is not that simple and there is a reason he/she is called an addict. The drug is addictive you canot get off with just will power. The body and the mind cannot do it due to the power of the drug. You people think it is all about, yes choice was used at first to take the drug, but since it is fairly evident that a one time hit can make people addictive to the drug, the choice is out of people hands
These guys were his friends. Like family u agree disagree. They are history, and part of Elvis. They are all together now, bet they are still partying. He gave all, they shared their all. Together again guys. Be good in heaven, I'm sure each and everyone of you, will try?? Miss you all.
What Jerry said at 51:18-51:59 is so true. Sums Elvis Presley up so well. Elvis gave a hell of a lot more than he ever got back. He was surrounded by leeches and yes men. It's a shame he wasn't able to see this until it was too late. Larry says Elvis knew he was in trouble by 1977 and acknowledged he needed to make changes in his personal and professional lives. The tragedy was that Elvis delayed the changes until September 1977 and as we know, Elvis died the month before. Such a shame. As dramatic as it seems, from Larry's words, it seems Elvis had finally woken up in 1977 and was getting ready to make changes and fire more leeches. Shame. RIP, Elvis. You will never be forgotten and your legacy will live on forever
At one time colonel Parker ran Larry off because he thought Larry was giving Elvis all these weird ideas. I think if Larry hadn’t given him the books Elvis would have found them.
You couldn’t fix Elvis. He had to fix himself. And finally at the end he had given up. But he was trying to decide to get himself a chance to clean up. Everyone tried to get him to stop the drugs. But he had to get the physical stuff fixed before he could stop the need for them.
@@gracieg7601, everyone else felt that Elvis was odd, but he was searching for his purpose, which for many is a lifelong search. At least with Larry, Elvis found someone he could talk to about his concerns, whereas everyone else thought that Elvis was bonkers
@@gracieg7601, Elvis had not given up, according to Larry. Larry has said that Elvis did get depressed now and then (who wouldn't under the circumstances?), but he was not a broken man at the end in Larry's experience. Larry is a good man, who always speaks highly and truthfully of Elvis. Elvis knew he had to sort himself out and he was going to make changes in his personal and professional lives and he was going to release some of the others from his life. Elvis had many other plans too, which Larry has mentioned in interviews and in his book, Leaves of Elvis's Garden: The Song of His Soul.
@@gracieg7601 of course you can't fix an addict. They have to want to change and unless they do, there's nothing you can do for them, except be there for them. Everyone may have tried to help Elvis, but it won't have worked. Back in the Seventies, there wasn't any real knowledge on the dangers of substance abuse and depression, so that stigma further hurt Elvis. Elvis did try to get clean many times, but would always relapse. On his last vacation in the Spring of 1977, Elvis got off the drugs and started exercising more and didn't look anywhere near as big as the magazines wrote. In fact, despite looking pale and worn out in some photos, he looks the usual shape for a 40-something-year-old dude. However, once Elvis got sand in his eye, he had to go home to rest before his new tour and relapsed. Shame. Elvis seemed to get clean intermittently, but he couldn't maintain it. If it wasn't for his touring schedule, he probably could have gotten clean for longer. Two shows a night - sometimes three - is enough to tire anyone out, not just a 30-something-year-old and 40-something-year-old performer.
Charlie Hodge told the story how Sonny West, Red West and Dave Hebler vindictively sent Elvis the transcript to the scandalous book “Elvis: What Happened?” they wrote along with a printed order for two hundred thousand pre orders from K Mart for the book just to add salt to the wound. Charlie said he walked in Elvis’ room and found him weeping with the transcript as he looked up at Charlie and said “what is my daughter going to think of me now?” Elvis died days later. I’m sure Judas could have told some great and heartfelt stories about hanging out with Jesus also.
Is sad to hear that no one or all together or 2ir3 did. It stop Elvis in a group intervención to let him see what they and everyone was seeing? Is that all were scared that the money will stop it would had been all the contrary. It would had been a healthier man. And better to work with a full headedthsn a dead Elvis
Why are people so willing to say they betrayed him? They were all young men caught up in his lifestyle. I was an addict ( mind you not a rich one) and I assure you that nobody on this earth could help me until I was ready. Elvis strange behavior has been coroborated in many non Elvis books. (Waylon Jennings bio, John Cash's) he was a great artist, being an addict doesn't detract from that. If he had lost his fortune ( which he was on the road to doing) he may have hit the bottom he needed to finally get help. The Memphis guys were not leaches, they were just all too human.
Saphire Blue Dont want to argue, both men said STRANGE behavior, not drugs. Although Elvis drug use is not a secret. I suggest that you read both mens bios. As mentioned, they were not being critical, only making observations. Let me state, I love Elvis but he was just a man.
wavygr well said. The basement dwelling coffee drinkers who helped me get well always say "we are not bad people trying to become good, we are sick people trying to get well" You can still see the intrinsic goodness in Elvis even in the end, that is why it was so hard on those around him, that was not the Elvis that they knew.
Saphire Blue And he's telling what he knew. Loads of people didn't SEE Elvis pop pills. Ypu're really getting on my nervesnow because you are coming across as REALLY thick? How old are you ? 4 ?
The thing we should keep in mind is that all these guys that were close to Elvis all played an important part in keeping things together in Elvis' professional and personal life. These guys did have skills that filled in gaps for Elvis. These guys did career promotion, communications, hair dressing, book keeping, buying, stage lighting, security, etc. for Elvis. All these guys were very loyal to Elvis and his career, and they all professed there love for Elvis as being their close personal friend. THEY WERE NOT JUST LEECHES AND HANGERS ON! They all played a very important role in Elvis' life....
@@Galworld761 Well.... It was a form of function given the particular situation. But I do think that your comment about this situation being "dysfunctional" is a fair assessment. But remember: Elvis did not drink alcohol much and he did not want his family, friends, and employees drinking around him. And Elvis saw and experienced the Memphis Mafia's dedication and commitment to his cause, so he did reward them with houses. The Memphis Mafia did earn every gift that was given to them in my opinion. There money pay was substantial, but it was not all that much given what they had to do for it.
They SHOULD HAVE protected him from Col Tom Parker and Dr. Nick!! If he had replaced BOTH of them with good, decent professionals, his health and career would have REALLY SOARED! RIP Elvis.
There will never be another Elvis. I am a black man that felt his “soul.” He truly opened the door for black entertainers. He helped mainstream black music on white radio stations.

I like the fact Elvis and James Brown sang gospel together. That must have been so cool
Naw he exploited it and still does for his gain. Being a mediocre copy of a blk artist you’ve seen isn’t being a door opener.
Agree 💯 with you ❣️
Everyone misses him!
The king lives the evidence is all there

ELVIS was blessed with a great voice and beautiful face and body. He had a magical sense sense of humor that drew you to him. I am so happy that the guys decided to share thier personal stories.
Yes he had a great voice but not a great body. He had narrow shoulders and sunken chest. He had an attractive face but not a nice body. Now a days many men have better bodies
He should have stayed Blond.and not coloring his hair black...just my opinion
Really?
Elvis' black hair defined him. Staying blonde is for women, NOT MEN!
In a short time, Elvis lived way more than most of us , gave to other more than most of us, and loved more than most of us , he touched so many with his beautiful soul . He really was an angel .
A very naughty Angel.

He was at his vocal best when singing gospel music. His heart and soul came through during those songs.
I don't know, I've always thought his vocals were best per each particular time/times of his life! I guess what I'm trying to say is like every few years as he aged and his voice matured!
I agree the gospel songs will be what I remember the most.

~Miss you sweet Elvis. Cannot get enough of seeing or listening to you.

The mafia men lived off presley. They were no better than payed pimps. They turned on him. So they did the same. Hid greatest problem was these men.
Red and Sonny were fired because they got into his addiction... Nobody ever said no to Elvis and got away with it...
They basically killed him to have sex. Pitiful. They bragged about their screwing women who had sex with Elvis. What real man would do that. Arrange their whole life to have sex with women who wanted someone else? If Elvis didn't have these "yes men" he may have lived longer.

He was what people called a twinless twin. He was constantly in search for that other person. His mother told him, it was up to him to live for the two since his twin was lost at birth.
I didn’t know he had a twin, what you say makes sense. 😢
And he missed his mother so much

A LOT.
He was our singing idol when I was still in the Laoag Gabaldon Elementary School in the early 50's to mid-60's! I truly love his voice and songs!
Have not read any of the books about Elvis & it's just too bad how worried he thought fans would react , whatever weakness were revealed would have only made him more human , more lovable. 💙
Maybe not. Times were different then.
What the heck was Lamar eating...he's criticizing Elvis while be could have been the Pillsbury character 😂🤣
What friends you were. With friends like you who needed enemies!
Amen ! They were there for the money, cars, women and the free ride.
AMEN
They helped dig Elvis's grave! The bandmates were the best influence he had. They really liked Elvis and EVERYONE only speaks well of him, despite some personal problems. They always emphasized the good things.
Joe was a great guy
He dug his own grave. Don't idolize him.
When it came to info about Elvis before and after his passing I'll only lend an ear to the ones closest to him and only if I see it come from their own lips. Elvis is gone so let him and family rest . Cherish the music and the memories.
Life is a tragedy for everyone. There are no exceptions.
The best we can do is make it a comedic tragedy...
@@purplerayne9391 After all is said & done that's it. Bingo!
well said elvis body guards were a lot of leeches he could of done well without them
You never made the effort to know the real story....it's not their fault. Do your research.
Yes. You are right when you said that Elvis was awesome. Awesome is putting it mildly when you are talking about Elvis. He was like an Angel from heaven. He maintained his committment to God with a few lapses because of the lifestyle he ended up having to deal with. He was the king and he was a prince among men.
Well said 👏
R. I. P. Elvis, and thank you for your service sir.
I was only 6 when he died.
Now 51 years old
He had to perform in Vegas 30 days at a time 2 shows a day. It is a miracle. he lived as long as he did
Would have liked to hear more from the others. Larry just took over on most of the conversations
Perfect example of prescription drug problem, everybody thinks by a doctor, its legal, and its medicine. Not just evis, michel jackso, monroe, anna Nicole smith, etc.
so many take them then one day just a little too much
Michael Jackson dam well knew wtf he was doing. No one takes frigging anesthesia for sleep ffs. Not even the worst addicts. That's playing with death everyday. I mean they all actually knew wtf they were doing. Monroe was probably murdered btw
They are right about onething he is the most good looking man we will ever see God rest you beautiful soul Elvis these guys put Elvis under a bus
There's lots of good looking male models but Elvis had that charisma and musical talent. So it wasn't just his looks.
Elvis put himself under a bus.
Elvis was physical perfection in my eyes. His voice was certainly awesome and he was such a generous man. I just wish he had found the internal strength to overcome needing all the pills to deal with life. There will never be another like him.
I have seen some Men just as Beautiful as E
Get a Gander at this Profile Pic. This is not the Elvis that you thought you knew
Ann Margret was more to Elvis than they told. He loved Ann. It all came out in later books
Agree 💯😊
They never mentioned Charlie Hodge , or did I miss that. Mmmm !!
not everybody liked charlie, i know marty lacker did not, he made it very clear when he was ask about him.
Awesome work on video , great job
Amazing video. Informative.
Elvis was the most sexy and handsome and had the prettiest voice on Earth I love him still
Agreed they broke the mold after him, their will always be only 1.
It’s sad.
All so true 🙌🏼
My father bears a good resemblance of him except my daddy is tone deaf lol, sadly I cry everytime I see these documentaries it reminds me my own daddy is not immortal either
This mob catered to elvis's needs and that need was damaging to the man who died at 42 they share the blame
Mulberry2000 why do people never blame the addict. He knew better than to be a drug head. Only an idiot really thinks it won’t destroy their life.
@@tonyalandon3275 Addicts are victims.
Great Documentary.... The good just die to young. Life is tough.
👌👌
That's story isn't true yes elvis worried about the book buy he wasn't weeping
There is a recording between Red and Elvis where Red told him and Elvis said do what you have to do....NO hate and discontent!
Stay off the dope Elvis.
This is a great documentary.Love all these guys. 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶❤️
thay were leeches
I read or saw somewhere that the colonel ran up gambling debts in Vegas and that's why Elvis was in Vegas so much
Why are people so willing to say they betrayed him?
Saphire Blue not drugs, STRANGE BEHAVIOR they both loved Elvis, it was not out of malice. Best to just read their books
wavygr well said. The basement dwelling coffee drinkers who helped me get well always say "we are not bad people trying to become good, we are sick people trying to get well" You can still see the intrinsic goodness in Elvis even in the end, that is why it was so hard on those around him, that was not the Elvis that they knew.
wavygr yeah, I drove smashed all the time and nothing. ( thank God)
Saphire Blue And he's telling what he knew.
Loads of people didn't SEE Elvis pop pills.
Ypu're really getting on my nervesnow because you are coming across as REALLY thick?
How old are you ? 4 ?
And of course a southern gentleman to the fullest and how romantic is that
Yes
I love when his men speak about him. What a special time.
I wasn't there,so I dont know. What I will say is that Elvis Presley was one great entertainer. GOD rest his soul.
Mmmm think I'm gonna have myself a lil Elvis binge fest on UA-cam. Feeling crap and watching his showmanship always cheers me up.
I know u posted this 2 years ago but hope your feeling better :))
At the point where Elvis really becomes a 4 dimensional character... youtube drops an ad... nothing has changed. Long Live The King!
☹️❤️ man I wish this was longer!! I love learning about all the life behind the scenes stuff
Elvis had the best of best in heart & soul and will always be loved for being the most amazing entertainer ever and most beautiful 🙌🏼🤝⭐️🥰😍
My clients don’t buy me houses and party with me. This was dysfunctional.
@@JimmyPlato1 They made about 150 bucks a week... Not exactly getting rich from Elvis...
@@Galworld761have they tips you or bought you a Christmas gift.?!? It’s the equivalent for him
Elvis was the king and still is in music... l wonder what Elvis would have thought of this ...
I love every song from Elvis! 😉
They SHOULD HAVE protected him from Col Tom Parker and Dr. Nick!!
If he had replaced BOTH of them with good, decent professionals, his health and career would have REALLY SOARED! RIP Elvis.
