Excellent review from someone willing to take there time and think of the majority of things that need to be covered. I don't care how perfectly you recall, how fast you communicate, but I do care that someone is willing to take the time necessary to cover everything the consumer would care about. I think for the most part you achieved this so thank you. God bless.

Nice vid. I just bought the 2.0 set a couple weeks ago, bought the 3 pieces $140. Compared to Dewalt at $200. and Milwaukee at over $300. I’m very impressed with the quality of boxes. Again thanks for the comparison.

thanks for the vid, helped me decide to go get the set of this, i'm so happy I found your video. was looking for a system to organize my tools and your review is very detailed with the improvements and comparison to other brands. also this could make some nice hard boxes to protect expensive radio equipment in transportation, just add some foam or cushion material. 73 from KD2OVM

I broke the wheel on the 1.0 version about 6 months into owning the system about 7 years ago. I needed it to be functional immediately but HD doesn't sell replacements.
I bought a lawn mower wheel that doesn't quite fit the axel diameter.
Shoved it through and NEVER thought about it again. I still use the box every day.

100% on the handle striking the hand!!!! I love the 2.0 because of this difference. On the job site pulling lots of weight this is crucial when you're going on rough terrain.

As others have stated, an excellent review.
Out of all the modular systems in HD and Lowes, the Rigid 2.0 system seems to offer the best quality for the price.
My only qualm is that I wish HD would invest a little more in the accessories. There has been talk of a drawer system coming soon as I write this. Yet I wonder, given the current (Nov 23) issues between Israel and Palestine, if those will be delayed.

    • @n3qdz
      @n3qdz  7 місяців тому

I totally agree on the accessory front. Drawers would be nice along with little boxes and that’s where Dewalt gets it very well. We will have to see how the front of Israeli Palestinian situation continues. For those who don’t know the system is primarily made and Israel.

Awesome job with the comparison. As little as it may seem at first, there's so many things to consider when making the first purchase that you've taken a ton of the mind boggling small details and exposed them. Sometimes there's so much that I can't keep it straight in my mind. Thanks!!

The cups are REALLY useful if you have the right tool belt. I have occidentals. Was doing siding yesterday and needed five types of fasteners throughout the day, I can fit 4 different cups in my left side pouch and they’re all organized. Also if I’m using Ramset nails, I grab the cup, put it in my belt, then when I don’t need them I just swap the cup for whatever else I need, so you don’t end up with 10 types of screw and fittings at the bottom of your pouch you have to reorganize

Excellent info on the new system. Much better than you get at the Ridgid website. I bought one and am impressed by the quality. The only thing I DONT like about the new system is that the 9 inch wheels on the dolly are not common. Lawnmower wheels are normally 8 inches and relatively expensive buying them aftermarket. Im always thinking ahead as to how I will fix something when it breaks. I hope Ridgid offers replacement dollies and orange trays. The video as good as the product, thanks.

Such a great video, very nice to see what the old system looked like with tools in it, how the closed case system in the new one will work or what could be improved with further accessories, and how taking the wheel wells out of the new box opens up more room for big tools to fit next to each other.
what i was hoping to see with having the old system and new system was interchangability of the old accessory system fit in the new system. could the medium box be put onto the wheel base, could the small box be put onto the wheel base? how the old system look locking into the new system?
also, could you show what you can fit into each box in terms of power tools? the circ saw and another tool, then placing the accessory boxes in the top? does a recip saw fit into the medium box and then the accessory boxes? can the small box hold a recip saw, or is it likely to just hold various hand tools or ratchet wrenches with deep sockets?
would you be willing to do a part 2?

Some great info here. I have the old system plus a few extras. I saw this new system and was a little jealous, mostly at the changes to the base/roller system. I was happy to find out I could just buy the new system and still attach the old boxes. I think DeWalt is literally on their 3rd design. Their most recent design looks to be their best, but will it be obsolete and non compatible with their next system in 4 years?
Went to Depot yesterday just to check the system out and everything was sold out EXCEPT they had except they did a single roller base unit and it was on sale from $89 to $69, so I HAD to grab it!!

It's amazing how these toolcarts help you.,, like a true buddy.
They've got to make some drawers ! I have the older version and they're durable, love the way all the handles are designed, very strong !! They are easy to stack and unstack . I really dont get the philosophy behind locking them together like Milwaukee does. You have to take them apart up and down stairs ..
But yeah a few drawers would be nice.
Actually there is a cheap system , where all the boxes open up, without unstacking . I think is called Stalwart.. but too flimsy for a tradesman..
PS, the older system handles are easier for me, you can grab both handles to lift it in the truck.

Thank is one thing I might like are drawers. I have a Dewalt tstak and they have drawer modules. I still am up in the are about drawers. The 10 compartment organizer and that has always done well for me. I find the drawer modules when you carry them because the handle is on top a bit wonky to carry. Tank you for the view and comment! soon I will be dong the followup on early impressions for working out of the new system

    • @recyclespinning9839

@@n3qdz I was thinking about the tstack. I think Lowe's has them under the Craftman brand. I don't see Dewalt any where except on line and they don't have much selection. I'm just thinking of just maybe buying another Rigid rolling bottom box because of the improvements. My old set is probably 10 years or so. The handle design is superior and more heavy duty than all the brands..
I guess I'm not buying unless someone has a good system where you can access tools without unstacking . My only complaint is that in a customers home I have to unstack them , which can get messy..
Thanks for review and tips again!

@@recyclespinning9839 one thing I absolutely hater about the tstak it how you attach them together. the latches I feel are flimsy. What you will find, once you start using any of the rolling tool systems it will by default organize you. I still love the systems. You can (of they are attached together) open a lower box with ones on top. The limiting factor is you can’t go any lower with opening the boxes, the handle is in the way. It can be overcome by removing the handle. It does do well on-site for ground clearance. One issue I now have found out is the tires will hold onto mud in the treads of the tires than the old system.
