i definitely worry the most about misinformation. if people can fabricate video "evidence" then a lot of people who are not good at critical thinking could perpetuate ruining someone's life. a lot of bad apples will be feasting on this. the laws need to catch up with it and ensure that this doesn't happen...because it's already been happening with other editing software to doctor up fake "proof"
People (Americans, especially) are already not good at critical thinking and already ruin people's lives mindlessly parrotting falsehoods and misinformation.
This already happened and already peajed. Now people are desensitized to it and it is actually slowing down. A.I. spam wont bring it back because fake evidence is meaningless when people never even needed any evidence in the first place.

@@Nosakima Yes and I believe many other occupations as well. Think about it, once AI learns for example CT USA contract/estate law, why get an attorney to write a will or contract? Simply type in what you want and AI will spit out what works and is legal/ binding in CT or any other state or country. It's like going to youtube for a DIY project BUT on Steroids. Writers, artists, film makers, producers, editors, keygrips, location /studio designers etc.....all on the chopping block.

As an artist, what would be the point in me using a.i to create what only I can create? Even if someone else’s creates a.i artwork, it’s not what I create. People that like what I create can’t get it anywhere else. Sure people can copy it, but there will always be differences and there will be no physical artwork (which I plan on giving away to active subscribers once I’m known enough.
I'm an artist too, all the work I've done can ONLY be created by me, AI is great for some tasks, but producing artwork should NEVER be one of its tasks, of course there's always going to be some smartass out there that will produce artwork by typing words into a prompt, just like someone did recently, and went to win an art competition with it, yeah nah not my cup of tea!
@@TheArtistsTouch it’s a tool, but for me at least the point of art is that is actually created by a human being and part of themselves is in the things that they create. Typing a prompt in to create an artwork is similar to typing a search into Google and choosing a picture. The person had zero creative input, so the picture has almost nothing to do with them.

I am a artist as well and after awhile being a artist won’t exist anymore. Since just type in a few words and get professional art work. It will even hurt the photographers as well. You can’t tell if the anything is real or not. I am looking for something else now and moving away from artist and photographer. It’s not worth it. It really is getting scarcy. It would be very easy to head into a dystopia from here, creative jobs that many people aim will be eliminated and those boring and exhausting physical job no one wants and everyone hoped would be replaced by technology will be the ones left.
Where is this A.I. that will replace valuable jobs? All I see is horribly unintelligent impractical things like ChatGPT which cannot replace anyone but the lowest quality spam content.
Before, only the chosen ones could bring great film projects to life. Hollywood and its ivory towers dictated the rules. But now, with Sora, everyone has access. From a student's room to a dreamer's cafeteria, everyone can create. Poverty and lack of support are no longer barriers.
Yeah, and Think about mess that will come out of this. If everyone will be able to make a movie, there will be so many movies. No one will ever care about one made by you. No one would ever talk about movies, because everyone watched something diffrent. Imagine How everyone will struggle to find a good movie or series, because there will be so many movies made with bad stories (Trust me, its really hard to make a good story). AI fans says that AI will be a dream come true, because they would be able to tell their stories without limits. But no one will ever care about these stories. We should see what will happen in the future. But IF Ai will be strong enough it will be the end of art. It will be replaced with endless chaos.

yes, because if we have learned anything from youtube, its that the person on the other side of the screen is 'authentic'.
I think things will balance out. There are just as many people who are impressed by and use AI as there are people who are not only concerned, but are on alert about its impact. I think there are enough people who are aware of its benefits, cons, and impact on UA-camrs and creators of all kinds who will work to make meaningful adjustments to their businesses/companies/practices to ensure there are policies and protections that protect man made content. So hopefully not all is lost
For us creative folks, yes. It's the mundies I worry about. They're not as perceptive or sensitive like we are when it comes to sussing things out. The revelation at the very end of Woodruff and the Schnibble should be a cautionary tale about what to believe when it comes to political propaganda.

Don't forget, these are the people who DON'T value art, as evidenced by their belief that art should be free and that they should be able to copy and redistribute anything they want without regard to its creator. Just look at all the blatant copyright violations on UA-cam for an example of this.

All I’m saying is, professional artists and indie art businesses will do what they can to put protections in for their companies and businesses to ensure that analog/traditional, human artists still get work. Yes, the rest of the public may very well gobble up AI art and that will be an issue, but I do think as the technology continues to rapidly progress, we will find ways to respond and mitigate the challenges it presents.

The best way to combat this is with your own voice, and delivering something that ai cant make up. Give the viewer something only a human can give. But at this rate, ai will be able to pit together emotions and sequences that normal only humans could do
There lies the problem. If a person can think it, AI can make it. All it takes is for people to keep feeding the beast with their own ideas, which trains the AI to continue down those "lines of thought". People using these technologies is what is creating people's own financial demise.

It is now a security risk to use your voice online. Any bad actor can download the video separate your voice and upload it to 11Labs and boom your voice is now theirs to use for whatever nefarious purpose they want

Put another way, you massively overestimate how much the general public cares about and values artwork of any type.

It's crazy to think how fast it goes. Inspiring for me as an artist but scary at the same time when it comes to deep fakes, etc. Wild times. I am prepared, training AI for a year now. I agree, you should learn this technology not for fun, but for survival.

Authentic, original content will survive. Unoriginal, boring content will be caught up and surpassed by AI. So this might actually be good news for channels that work hard to make something unique, authentic, genuine... Channels that are currently being ignored by the youtube algorithm because it's unique and genuine. And you already see it today, content that got ignored a year ago, is now pushed by the algorithm and people love it! It's a shame we started our channel two years ago... the only two years on youtube where original, unique, authentic content was being ignored by the algorithm

As a small UA-camr AND a human that consumes news, I'll be honest this mildly terrifies me, it's moved so far so fast and there are essentially NO guardrails on this thing. T Swift and her issues are just the beginning for a whole host of problems. We're still going to be out here trying to do Good Things For Good People though!
I think it's been said years ago, but only now will this stand the REAL test of time - "Don't believe what you see on the internet". Nowadays we're going to have to make ourselves not believe things, because you will never know what is and isn't real... On a different level than ever before. It's not scary, it's more disgusting, because the first thing that it can be used for is to manipulate, lie and deceive. It's quite cunning though.
It's clear many aren't thinking appropriately to how these advancements are being too sped up for what we should actually have or allow. This is actually shooting ourselves in the foot and others foot. They should demonetize all AI created content and put the appropriate labels on them to mention that it isn't real. Until these systems are handled appropriately it shouldn't be in the same level as actual creative content. AI tools is one thing, but to now have AI do the entire process and make something false is something we should have never pushed for.
One would say sooner or later we will find out but people don't realize this changes in just seconds and we are on the fast track to making things worse for all involved.

I’m also floored at how far it’s come - not every application is perfect, but in many industries it’s giving those who embrace it the ability to run circles around their competitors. Interested to see how UA-cam's new rules of AI will be affected by this.
Right now they kind of replace stock footage, but not main content unless you want a bunch of stock footage with a song playing. There are also of course weird things happening because AI doesn't actually understand what's going on.
I did hear about AI stuff, at one point, but how do we know if something is AI-genereated?
I love how I spent 15 years of my life building up my skills and now digital bots take it away. Also, with this new tech, you know scammers, hackers, politicians and pedophiles will enjoy this. :(

What would happen to UA-cam if we as human beings decide not to consume content that was created by robots? We are the human beings who generate money for the platforms, and it is possible that people decide not to consume AI content.
So do we now use this to create videos or no? Is there a way to come up with video ideas to beat the ai? can i use ai to come up with video ideas?
I think that if people will either intentionally avoid AI or people will like videos more if no AI is used. People will look for the "real" videos and it will lead to a better emotional responce.
trouble is finding the real videos... hopefully YT implements some feature to tag a channel as AI or a Real Person, but how they would verify what they post as not being AI generated is going to be tricky
@@TheRealGloo the idea is that the creator will set the video as "using AI" but the problem is deep fakes and scams will simply not set it. I'm hoping for an improved system similar to how copyright works currently but better. And hopefully they fix the copyright issue while they're at it

Artists, animators, writers: did AI take your hands? Did it take the ability to draw and write and throw it away?
Voice actors and singers: did AI take your ability to speak? To sing?
Photographers and videographers: did your camera break because AI exists? Your video camera too? Did your drone disappear?
You can still do what you want to, and one day, just like like AI art, you will be able to train everything in your style.
Don't let this take away from your potential to grow. You can license your style out. License your voice. License characters out.
Your style doesn't exist in these new things yet, and it can't perfect it. Perfect and sell it. Require people with licenses to link back to where they can buy and use your style from to keep earning even more.
Never give up. This is how we will make these things into tools again and not instant theft generators. This can and will become profitable, ethical, AND promote creativity.
But will we still be able to make money from it? Or will no one believe its real?
I've known that from the beginning of my channel about 3 years ago, that if you don't get into AI, you're going to get left behind. It is that simple. I'm personally looking forward to when OpenAI's Sora comes out to the public. I will use it in my videos regularly. I just hope UA-cam doesn't demonetize AI content.

@@RealRyanAskew At the moment you are right. But, I'm referring to content creation not just UA-cam videos. At the moment, they are getting better in the area of content creation. Before too long, it will be able to write with passion. If you are speaking voiceovers, you are absolutely correct. At the moment it lacks passion, but who knows what the future brings. I wouldn't underestimate AI. One day it may even come across as passionate.

Prompt writers will 100% be a thing. The “soulless” excuse won’t hold water.
Look at vinyl to digital. True original artwork will have a candid element but will be a shadow of what it is today.
I doubt platforms will keep the “generated with AI” tag. People will grow blind to it.
Im still confused with that stuff like "Altered or synthetic content" tag appearing in a youtube videos, like does it affects almost every AI videos in youtube video or just for people using AI generated voices and videos in youtube video?
I think it will end up being difficult for them to define. Would it include, for example, a musician that used autotune or beat quantization to digitally alter their content?

If everyone is going to use this tech, I'm just going to exclude everything made after 2024 from my search. Just like I do with images. When I look for references I always add "before:2022"
someone will bypass your tens of thousands of hours simply by 10 hours of learning how to communicate to ai. And then, his/hers 10 hours will be bypassed by someone who learns in 1 hour how to communicate to the ai issued 10 hours after the first one..... and so on and on and on....

Most I've seen look like basic illusion or slight of hand tricks until I rewatch and realize what the AI got wrong. Some things are magically generated like disturbing visual effects. It makes genuine footage even more interesting.

I have a subscription for a text to speech AI tool, and I'm usung all the 100k characters I have per month on a single 15 min video (I regenerate a lot for high quality). That means I'll eventually have to upgrade to the 100 dollar plan for audio only. Now consider how big is a 15 min audio file and how big is a 15 min 4k video. I hope this won't cost like $1k per month

I'm puzzled by comments asserting that "AI will never do this..." or "AI can't do that...". These statements often get disproven within a few years, and more recently, within a few months.
Something I'm curious about is if there will be a new video file formats that will contain meta data on if a piece is AI generated or not. I don't know how easily that would be able to be altered or changed, but if it were possible to attach an AI tag to a piece of AI content, that would ease my fears of not being able to discern reality anymore lol
I think it's okay to use as long as people use it for things at a more affordable price. It's like when he mentioned about the landscape video shots. It would be better if that website limited it to only places being shown rather then a lot of people so imposters can't deepfake it.
I am actually excited to be able to use stock images without having to pay any service for story telling / documentaries. I am an AI channel but I still manually edit all my videos. Having access to cheaper video/images for my video production is rather nice. But I can understand people being scared / worried. It will just be another tool for people like myself to be a solo creator more possible.

Haha that's how I feel when I see these AI updates. I'm just short of 2k subs and have put hourssss in to my channel (I started 16 months ago). I'm proud of my videos and the memories they serve as so I will never regret all that I've done so far, but if it's all for nothing due to AI that would be pretty heart breaking.

I think people are already starting to move away from highly edited videos, with texts graphics and effects flying all over the place. I find myself lately just watching people talk, rant in front of the camera with low edited videos.
One thing I like to point out about the UA-cam audience compared to other social media is that on UA-cam people Are slot smarter. Whenever I go on Instagram or TikTok, and I see the kind of trash and fake content that is getting millions of views & likes is ridiculous. The kind of stuff that don't get vitality on UA-cam. Also I see less and less AI generated content on here lately. I think people's brain unconsciously getting train to detect that stuff faster. So while ai is getting better and better, we humans are getting better on detecting them, and we become more and more skeptical of every video. That's why unscripted authentic videos are on the rise right now. Sorry for the long comment Hahaha.
