It took a year to get 60 subscribers. Then two more years and I finally passed the 1k threshold. Bear in mind I didnt start UA-cam trying to get there as fast as possible. I just posted things I thoroughly enjoy doing or talking about. Being absolutely myself instead of following trends or hype. Over time people will find you and respect you so much more than someone chasing the next hot thing just to be popular.

Im 4 months into the process and on 41 subscribers. Ive put a lot of time into the process, but enjoyed it at the same time and learnt a lot. Got to keep grafting and churning the content out and the rewards will come in due course.

I'm at 125. My niche is hiking and the outdoors, but the youtube category selection basically socks. So I not only have to figure out how/where to put the right stuff folks want to see and keep watching, I have to literally guess what category I should tag for most of my videos.
Super cool man, I love hiking. As a ranger you probably have way more knowledge than I do. Keep with it, I'll check your stuff out. I have a couple hiking videos but nothing like what you seem to have.

Build a catalogue was my approach. I did not do the biggest and most popular places first in search terms. I wanted to learn my craft a lot more before embarking on that journey. Now I have gotten a little better I am now moving towards that inner circle of key content.

I broke the 100 subs barrier on my 4th video, but have been stuck on 300 subs even after the 5th video, I screwed up its release with a bad thumbnail and title that I thought it was a good idea, but ended up not atracting any viewers. I've already decided to finish this series I'm on and move on to something that is not as intense as story telling, as writing the script is what is taking me the longest, and not enabling me to get a video out every week. I just need to step back, and pump out more content, instead of banking so much on quality.
I DID some mistakes with my main channel, and the big one, is trying to get too many "niches". Should I get rid of the videos that don't perform well, and just focus on one niche?
I'm on my 100 rn , I started with a thought "hmm indian languages are so underrated" and made a whole channel out of that , ik that topic isn't very popular , but at least some ppl like it and comments relevant things , which just brightens my entire day!
I'm hoping I hit the 1k before next month is over. I feel I have good quality, just not enough videos.

I started off making these easy “perfect things shorts” and some other things and grew my channel to around 300. However, I’ve now switched my niche to something I actually enjoy and am proud of the last few shorts I’ve made. But they just don’t seem to be doing aswell 😢
another way to help is to spam out shorts that link to your video this could be having a trailer to a video with a short
