There's just something special about those old Cadillacs. I'm driving a 95 Concours right now that's almost at the end of it's life.. I'm gonna put it in storage and in 25 years or so do a build with it.

man scottie. steves work is amazing. I would love to be able to do quality work like that. I would really like to see a video how steve makes the patterns for his seats and how he aligns them and makes them sit perfect like factory seats. I would love to see. Especially me being an young auto trimmer myself

Never seen blue gum walls before, not sure about that. Nice interior, really plush. Air-ated seats huh? Neat. Some stuff missing at the back right, by the exhausts? Good colour. Looks great with the top down.

I do like this interior. Most of the time I don't like modern interiors on old hotrods like this because they destroy the character of the car. This one didn't. They kept the original dash and just installed some A/C outlets. They hid the modern radio and the A/C controls. The door panels and cowl panels aren't original but they look like they could be. Door armrests are same style as original. Same with the back seat. In '49 they would not have had bucket seats and center console, but this seems to have been done pretty sensitively and integrates well. Convertible tops from the factory must have stiffeners or something to get the fabric to fold in just the right places. Apparently there wasn't enough left of the original top to determine the true pattern.
Cool green tinted windows on a 49 caddie? 1949 marks the genesis of tinted glass on american cars. The plastic window on the soft top is tinted too. Must have been newly made for no soft plastic can last 70 years without deteriorating.
As much as I liked the great job done, I would never buy a "Street Rod". These old cars look fabulous with some restoration back to original. BTW those exhaust pipes look totally stupid.
