This is such a grt Tribute to the Beatles this song brings smooth to another level I bought this album in the mid 70s grt band vocals harmony and background strings full orchestra grt job
every song they made was a hommage to some other band as they struggled to make it on their home soil of England but they fitted a niche that only BJH could fit thus BJH became something of a cult band, loved or loathed. I raise a glass to them because from their struggles came some great music. RIP Mel from the boy on the red Yamaha and long live the music they gave us.
This song and and One Night hooked me. Saw them live in 1979 or 1980. BJH were brilliant. This was before they got really big. Something to play at my funeral.
This song is soooooo great ! Never saw the video, so thanks for posting. Amazing how you can make a song made up of titles from Beatles songs. Best one of BJH.
I've been digitising a load of old cassette tapes recently. One was BJH's "Time Honoured Ghosts", from which the original version of this came. I was at one time very smitten indeed by the track. This made me turn to UA-cam to see what was there, and I found this. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing it. It was released 42 years ago. You've made a happy man very old.
You 've made a very old man happy again. It's still a great tune to listen from long time ago. We all have our memories of those days in the summer of 1968 .
Its beyond thinking! It's one of those rare twists in fate. Its a big shame because they are one of the few bands that sound excellent Live too... All BJH ask for is for people to listen to them.
What A Blast From My Past !!!! I was so smoke out the first time i hear this on the radio ,,,,, It totally blew me away ...... Thank BJH for a great tune ....
Looks like this was filmed on an old set from LOST IN SPACE. This is wonderful - chorus always lifts me up until I realise who we've lost from the band.
It's from a former TV-programme called *Avro's Top Pop* back in 1976 on the Dutch Television. This wonderful song had climbed up to the 9th place back then in January 1976...
the first time I saw them live was in the old Ancien Belgique in Brussels and I remember drummer Mel ( he sadly passed away in 2004 ) coming on stage and thinking ooh he looks like the babyface of the group but my God , he blew me away with his drumming as did the rest of the band.. their 70 's album I still count among my all time favorites. Titles is a great song but it is not representative for the group....loved their more symphonic stuff that keyboard player Woolly ( also died allready ) wrote and sang..great guy and he had a amazing mellotron sound... when he left for a solocarriere I lost intrest in Barclay James Harvest..for me he was the soul.
This song was included on a flexi-disc sampler given away free with I music paper Sounds, Melody Maker or NME in the UK about 1977 and apparantly the record label Harvest ( progressive label of EMI) was named after the band but by 77 the band had moved to Polydor.
It's five o'clock and I walk through the empty streets Thoughts fill my head but then still No one speaks to me My mind takes me back to the years that have passed me by
great performance in Holland! Yes that were the guys who stool every everything and brought it to new life!!! Very Nice song (it belongs in my top 10 out of the top3000 The Beatles were then in 1976 Nowhere;) Absolute great song!
Pete FornatelL (sp) on WNEW FM 102.7 in NYC introduced this song to me in the late 70's, and I have owned the LP - then the CD - of Time Honoured Ghosts ever since. BJH are NOT a "big noise" in rock history - but they are one of my absolute favorites of all time! Titles is a masterpiece... plain and simple. Nobody who ever hears it does NOT fall in love with the song! Thanks for posting the video! Steve R Palm Harbor Florida
Hi Ludo...Thanks for the Share...I've never heard this song by BJH before....Great Harmony's and sound...and Yes...so many Beatles song titles... Really enjoyed seeing the Video....Regards...Dave
I think not a band that emulated any act for the sake of accomplishing such! True they could morph into a particular genre. But rather blokes that relished musical works to the extent that they truly got into extending and embellishing stylistic personas, hook progressions, and yes, even engineering nuances that comprised their favorite "works" by whomever. An art even unto itself. This is all about flattery for the Abbey Road era, but does anyone else hear America in this track?
Many books only serve to show us how many wrong paths there are and how badly we could deviate from the right path if we let ourselves be misled by them.
I have been searching, so far without success, for something which I saw on the Old Grey Whistle test many years ago which was BJH playing a cover of the Beatle's Dear Prudence. They were clearly big fans, as this song (which I have only just remembered !) demonstrates but does anyone else know about the Dear Prudence cover ?
TITLES pieseň skupiny BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST, ktorá ako jediná pieseň skupiny uspela v USA, v rebríčku Billboardu bola týždeň od 20. marca 1976 a skončila na 107.m., na b strane singlu bola pieseň Song For You, text piesne bol poskladaný s názvov piesni Beatles ako Lady Madonna, Let It Be, All You Need Is Love alebo Yesterday, jediný album skupiny, ktorý uspel v USA bol Octoberon, ktorý vo februari 1977 skončil na 174.m. John Lees spevák a gitarista dnešného dňa dovršil 70 rokov, zo skupiny z Oldhamu v UK jej popri ňom medzi živými Les Holroyd basová gitara, hráč na bicie Lem Prichard zomrel v roku 2004 na zlyhanie srdca vo veku 56 rokov a hráč na klavesy Stewart Wolstenholme zomrel v roku 2010 vo veku 63 rokov
The long and winding road that leads to your door Here comes the sun it's alright people shout for more But were you trying to deceive telling me All you need is love to succeed Across the universe one after nine 'o' nine I got a feeling for you blue and I feel fine I tried so hard to make believe that I'd see All you need is love to succeed CHORUS: Lady Madonna let it be Something in the way you moved me yesterday All you need is love so they say
Yes, this is TopPop; they're ALWAYS mimeing the songs because it was a top 30 of tophits at that time on television. I hear somebody saying something in Dutch at the end of the video, LOL!

So basically you're saying that rock can never be art music? Remember that jazz, like rock, began as folk music, then became popular music and finally art music. I don't see why people objected to rock following the same path.
Yes*** Marisha4sure, what a pity Woolly was not so much there in Amsterdam = Great Single John Lees did it well, Les Holroyd not at all, but Woolly (january 1976 and still is over there, but over here also in Belgium)....Woolly (the former bacer) was quitten in 1979.
Hi Marisha, Great song!I've been looking for this video for years.Eventually I made my own (slide show). But at last there it is....great.Where did you find it? Thanks Leon
A clever use of Beatles Title's. Must go gotta catch the One After 909 to Get Back home, beats The Long And Winding Road if I miss it and have to walk, I wouldn't miss it For No One. I hurt my leg you see but It's Getting better; when it does I'll walk down Penny Lane through Strawberry Fields and Something tells me I will Come Together, With A Little Help From My Friends, with my Girl, Julia. Let It Be said The Beatles created a Revolution in music. ;-)

Been surfing UA-cam today and rediscovered this band. Loved this and a few others from back in the day. Great Harmonies!

What a great song! What a band!
This is great - it reminds me so much of my childhood. I used to love BJH - and I still do!
Nostalgic feelings all along...
I'm still trying to figure out how these guys slipped through the cracks here in the US. They're great!
Its beyond thinking! It's one of those rare twists in fate. Its a big shame because they are one of the few bands that sound excellent Live too... All BJH ask for is for people to listen to them.
They didn't in my world.
Because gringos are full on BS music
Wonderful! A huge thank-you to John and Les for helping to keep BJH music alive today with their own separate versions of the band still performing.

ビートルズよ永遠にが日本でのタイトルだったかな?当時ファンクラブに入ってたね!いい青春時代だった
Prachtige song, The Beatles vonden dat ook!!

@AnnericanIdiot , okay, i shall try it! Thank you for the information!
great! I knew it listening to cassettes... It's genious! Their soft voices make me feel comfort. What year it was made?

Thanks
Leon
did anybody count the beatles songs mentioned?
1975
thanks, and I read your earlier comments... very funny. By the way, at the total end of the song I hear voices talking. Is that normal?
Dewey Bunnel was born in Yorkshire!

Che dappertutto gli uomini si sono tormentati,
Che qua e là ce n’è stato uno felice?

What s tbe guy on the right making this gesture with his finger at 0.41? As if he wants to gag..?
Beatles songs!

no, i dont know what that is...my guess is voices in the lip synch studio, but they don't appear on the album
Each word is from the Beatles
John Lees looks like he's taken full advantage of hospitality in the Green Room i.e. he looks pickled.

Whats up with John on this clip ? Whats the finger to the mouth all about ? Am I missing a hidden meaning here ?
Les looks like Harrison.....
