You said Nike SB was formed in 1998? 🤐 Their first attempt at making Skate shoes was in 1996 with The Choad, Schimp & Snak! But Nike SB didn’t come until 2002!
When P.rod got on the nike sb team, thats was when it started blowing up, before that they did have a reputable team like Reese forbes and Gino they killed it on the board but when p.rod got on the youth started looking their way.
Yep. Adding Koston didn't hurt either. Putting a real OG skater like Koston on the team meant they weren't playing around. Also selling them exclusively in skate shops only at the beginning was a good move.
Bro you got my sub, my orange label court purples came today and just saw your video and decided to play while i was lacing them up, and you actually had my full attention, props to you bro
I just started collecting dunks this year. Got 9 pair with one on the way. SB gray gums are very nice. SB Crenshaw skate club are probably my best pair. But it does suck not having a chance at getting them at retail prices.
@@HonkeyKong54 yep you’re correct! Drama Pfaff. His story is interesting and he used to have a podcast I listened to a bit but kind of fell off with all that. I remember Y&R used to be in places like Zumiez and Pacsun but haven’t seen someone wearing it in years. Curious what ever happened with it
I DONT buy into sneaker trends so SBs never died out for me, they just got easy and cheaper to get!!! Now their harder to get them ever before and the peñeices aren't insane, their just stupid!! $50 grand for Paris SBs!!! I sold My pair in 2012 for $7000!! And I felt like I was ripping dude off but that was the price at the time!!
So many inconsistencies in this video . . Just take it down . . The first skater for nike was actually bam margera . . He never got a pro model , but he was the first actual paid skater to ride their prototype skate models
Nice video. I have 2 pairs of SB dunks and they are my favorites. Although there's a lot of sb's releasing all the time I am hardly into any of them. I'm not into any of the hype ones that released recently, I dunno I'm picky.
They did the same thing with the Stefan Janoski shoe. They took it away for 5 years at its peak in 2019 and now have brought all best colour ways back but I feel the hype on the shoe is dead now, also the style of skateboarding changed a lot but at least OG fans of the shoe can get a pair again.
Funniest thing is how hyped staple pigeon and their dunk was and still is but their brand has crashed sneaker culture used to mean something now “sneaker heads” are actually Nike fan boys
I'm big into jordans but have become a little bored with them lately so having never owned a dunk sb i saw they were releasing a jordan colorway the court purple so i figured why not. Wow i can't believe what I've been missing I'm already hooked. Since then I've gotten the Chicago The pine green Travis Scott Dunk The Paisley Dunk and i got one rep of a unattainable shoe the Freddy Kruger from DeveloperBoring. There's so many more i want no more Jordan's for me for a while. I love these shoes
No sandy bodecker mentioned ??? Also a lot of dunk were being released in mid 00s they never stopped they had so many sbs ??? Good video but your definitely missing some things
Um....pandas are NOT SB'S. you didn't mention Nike 6.0 which were out before the SBs. The 6.0 were an "extreme sports" sun brand, for BMX & skateboarding. Also in the 90's NO skaters wore dunks. In the early 90's it was all about Airwalks, Etnies & Vans. Then there was a shift, where skaters were wearing old school low top shoes like Adidas , Puma & Vans. In the mid to late 90's saw the rise of the puffy tech shoes by NEW skate shoe companies, there were tons of them DC, ES, Axiom & more. THIS is when Nike decided to launch the SB sub brand. They saw how hot the market was. With the rise of the whole "extreme sports" by 2000 the market was HOT. Not to mention that skateboarding was EVERYWHERE.Video games, MTV, ESPN, commercials etc etc. Skaters wearing Nike shoes goes even further. I n the 80's you saw a ton of skaters wearing hi top basket ball shoes. The Jordan 1 was super popular. The Bones Brigade wore them in "The search for Animal Chin" video. Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero, Rodney Mullen even Tony Hawk wore the Jordan 1. You should have done more research. It always sucks when a NON skater tries to cover skateboarding things.
I love the dunk, but hate what Nike is doing to them. I believe it wont be very long until people get tired of the many uninspired colorways once again
Great vid, this quality deserves 100k subs
Thx for the support ✌🏽

Yeah I get it on the more exclusive collabs but not GR colorways 😂
Really like your videos. Have you considered doing the brand Young and Reckless? Remember that being really popular in my area around the early 2010’s
Yeah I do remember them. I’ll ad them to the list of upcoming episodes
Lol that sht was made by Rob Dyrdeks goofy brother I think

they def aint releasing too much SB dunks, im just tryna cop a pair retail price to skate in. i aint tryna cop resale and fuckem up

Get ready for the follow up “the rise and fall and rise and FALL of Nike SB”

Man I recently did the same thing. I only have the Jordan reimaged series (5 pair) and now it’s SB’s. I think I am picking up the chunky dunky today.
Dunks are awesome
No sandy bodecker mentioned ??? Also a lot of dunk were being released in mid 00s they never stopped they had so many sbs ??? Good video but your definitely missing some things
