I'm trying a new type of video here. A real world, honest review in 5 minutes or less. Is this the best camera under $1000? Are you looking for the best beginner camera? Or are you looking for the best vlogging camera? All these questions and more are answered in this information packed video. Before you buy your next camera, watch this video on the pros and cons of the Sony ZVE10 with sample images and real world use. Cheers
Dom, you truly are my favorite reviewer and tips guy on UA-cam...aside from the content you're presenting about, you just have a wonderful cadence, clear and precise speaking voice and excellent demeanor, you don't come off like an arrogant know it all...it's so appreciated in here bud. And your lighting is always the best on here, hands down. (would love some help getting mine set!)
Now talking about the ZV-E10, I just got it myself, to use as my first real foray into DSLR photography/videography. I'm a long time video camera user for video, but have gotten tired of lugging around the big film camera (Sony FS700r) and wanted to stay with Sony so I could use the E-mount lenses I already have. This little camera to me is perfect. Small, capable, and not too expensive. It checks all the boxes. Using it as a webcam for when I record my podcasts with my cohosts is amazing also. They're envious of the quality of image I get from it over Zoom/Skype! I haven't gotten out into the "field" too much yet as winter is just ending up here in Calgary Canada, but I can't wait to go have some fun with it.
I also got the Zhiyun Crane M3 to go with it, which is the perfect combo for smooth, stable video while moving around. And that cancels out all the complaints about this not having good stable video when walking...just get any stabilizer and it's totally fine.
One thing to counter you on, is the complaint about rolling shutter. Everyone complains about that, but in reality, there is no filming done where you're moving the camera so fast back and forth to bother worrying about noticing that...no one wobbles the camera back and forth during actual filming! It's an excuse to rip on a camera for no real good reason. Maybe 1 in 100 shots might have something you would notice that during an actual shoot, so it's minor in my opinion.
Now I'm still trying to understand all the menus and settings, as there's a lot on this little guy. That'll take a day out with it and just trying things, but it would be cool if you had the time to do a "best settings" for photo and video tutorial for it :)
Things I've added as accessories to compliment the camera - Ulanzi MT-40 bluetooth mini tripod for desktop shooting during podcasts, Smallrig camera cage to protect it and added grip, Ulanzi dummy battery for continuous power, Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens, extra batteries, 1080p HDMI Capture card for HD streaming and a few other things like screen protector, wrist strap etc.
As #MarkusRothkranz in here says, you don't need all the latest, and most expensive gear to get good quality images/videos, it's not the gear, it's YOU and how you use it. All the UA-camrs in here swearing by the top end 5k cameras etc, are just over the top.
I am a beginner in photography and I am looking for a mirrorless camera solely for photography. Can you tell me which camera, Sony ZV E10 or Canon M50 Mark ii, is better for photography including low light performance? Or are both cameras equally good when it comes to photography?
I am thinking between sony zve-10 and canon rp. Which do you think is better? Canon rp + 50mm used for 909 euros, sony new with kitlens 699 euros. Are the photos much better with the canon rp?
Photos are better on RP but not significantly. Definitely better in low light. But entirely the majority of the tech is far superior in the zve10. I'd go Sony if I'm using it as an all arounder
Good video!!! Want to see a video of zve10 vs zv1 about your opinion for beginner content creator. Also is this the good time to spend so much for a camera, or should I invest other stuff like microfoon, lighting and background. Thank you
Hey! That’s a good idea for a video. The Zv1 is better imo for a beginner unless you can afford a good lens for the zve. If you can, I like the zve better overall
Also, I’m not sure where you’re at in your journey, but lighting can be pretty cheap tbh. If you do a zv1 with a godox sl60 you can be set up!
that cameras insides is identical to the zv1 accepting it has an interchangeable lens and that zv1 shoots very good video
nah, inside is similar to a6400. zv1 has 1 inch sensor better stabilization and better rolling shutter.
Yea different sensors but a lot of the same features. I’m excited for zv2, rumored to drop later this year
Is it good for professional work ?
I want to use it for music videos
I mean it have Picture Profiles
120fps in Full Hd
4k no crop
Changeable Lenses
And the price is very good
I was about to purchase a6100 which is more expensive than zve10 but the features are less in a6100
What's the catch ?
This camera have everything I need
Is this camera doesn't record Audio in 120fps , I think it does
Why this camera is cheaper than a6100
In my budget I can't purchase a6400 but I can purchase a6100
But Zve10 is even cheaper than a6100 with more features like picture profiles
I'm really confused
To be honest, it’s ok but I probably wouldn’t use it for professional work. If it were me, I’d look to spend an extra $3-400 and get the a6600. Log profiles, headphone jack, better controls and ibis. If you’re making money off it go with a little better camera
The A6100 is older. I’d prefer the zve10
what made you change your mine? you dogged it in the first video
lack of a better option for the money honestly. for $700 you can't beat it.
@@DominicPhillip Price is awesome. Just picked up a Best Buy open box for $532!!
would this be more worth it compared to canon EOS RP ?
I'd take the ZVE10. Much better tech, fantastic video, and great resale value. Just no EVF
@@DominicPhillip Thanks for the feedback!
What's the use of this review when yoi already made another video of trashing the camera. How can we believe what's the truth?
I get it, but just thought I'd share what I like and don't like in two separate videos. Obviously that wasn't ideal. lol
