Something reviewers don’t talk about is video recording limit and over heating. For 4k recoding, the Cannon R50 is one hour and overheats, xs-10 30min, zv-e10 is 13 hours.
you mean to tell me that sony zv-e10 overheats after 13 hours of recording 4k?
No, no issues with the zv-e10. I’m saying recording limits and overheating is a big consideration for choosing a camera imo.
so true, wonder why.
@@mestralarmstrong7811wow that's crazy you are right tho these days im looking for camera that can last long and shoot this camera has 120fps thats dope.
I decided to get the Sony for this exact reason. I liked the Canon, but overheating is a massive disruption to my workflow
bought it last week as my first camera and i am very happy with it
still working right?
Thank you so much, I think I have made the right decision on last 2 week I have bought the Sony ZV-E10 and the result was so amazing
I use HLG3 and don't even color grade. It looks a bit "magical", but nice colors. I see R50 HDR is great, but then it has only 1 color mode and misses some of the other interesting features. The most important thing about zv-e10 is lens selection, simply cannot be beaten by X-S10 or R50.
I almost purchased this camera on Amazon last week, I literally had it in my basket when I thought to myself "I'll just check the specs on the Sony website to make sure it shoots 4K at 60fps" but to my shock it only records video in 4K at a maximum of 30fps, and so I bailed on the purchase. I then found out that it's surprisingly hard to buy a new camera in this category capable of shooting 4K at 60fps for under £1600. Although 30fps is fine for most things that I need a camera to do, there will be times when I need 60fps, and with the fact that high fps action cams like GoPro and DJI are so bad in low light this leaves very few options that won't punch my bank balance in the face.
Just buy DJI Pocket 3
Try and use credit lol
We are spoiled. When A7S was released 10 years ago, it was pure magic. Looking back - no internal 4K, no IBIS, only 8 bit LOG. But I've made a lot of great shots with that body. Yes, now I have a bunch of Sony A7 bodies that makes job much easier, but the tradeoff is that they are much bigger and heavier setups, even compared to original A7S. With this one, you can use pancake lens, and get a pocketable every day casual street photography body, without that much compromise on quality.
There isn't a better camera in features and specs at that price, and even above the price. Definitely punches up a few classes. It's an amazing hybrid beast for 4k video and high resolution photos, and can work in almost every industry niche...or at least all my niches for work.
The canon r50 is very close however, But the zve10 outclasses it with the cinema profiles
@@TechThroughTheLens out of all those which one is the best p
hotography
@@Cjbrown2xsony autofocus will beat canon’s.
I just bought mine last week and this makes me so happy! tysm
The lack of OSS and the significant rolling shutter effect are the biggest drawbacks when filming with the ZV E10, especially when using a lens without OSS. However, considering the price point at which Sony offers this camera, it still has its merits. In my case, I believe the A6700 or ZV-E1 would be the suitable upgrades.
This is why I prefer the ZV-1. It has very minimal rolling shutter AND an internal ND filter. I think its time for actual video oriented cameras to work in shutter angles and incorporate internal ND filters.
The ZV-E10 records Gyro though and catalyst browse solves the OSS issue. I don't have an issue with rolling shutter since my projects so far don't require fast panning. Also, Catalyst Browse also fixes it.
A6700 and ZV-E1 are definitely upgrades but at 3-4x the price of the ZV-E10, my budget just wouldn't allow it.
@@Neeono yeah thats a good idea but I can't use catalyst browse because I don't have any licens I tried it so many times it doesn't work
@Lua_Films i don't think you need a license for catalyst browse
@@Lua_Films @sye_mo is right, Catalyst Browse is free! Buuuuut it only goes to 8-bit exports (which is fine or ZV-E10). There's another version called "Catalyst Prepare". This version is paid and has other benefits, besides being able to export in 10-bit.
I just bought it used for 530 euros with lense, I think it was a good deal, I'm not a blogger but I like to record my trips
I was considering the zv e10. I'm aware its marketed as a vlogging camera, but I don't plan to use it for vlogging. I'm also aware it doesn't have IBIS, so I was going to get a Sony SEL-35F18 standard lens (fixed focal length, 35mm, F1.8)
I'm not a beginner and I mostly film in natural/ambient light, handheld. Documentary feel, "music films, live sessions.." very similar to your shots, not studio/polished shots.
Would anyone recommend it for such purposes?
and is the lack of Ibis and rolling shutter such deal breakers as people say they are?
I'm hoping to purchase it within the next few days, so your review would be really appreciated.
Thank you!
You content is amazing. I'm looking on a lot of reviews to buy my first camera and I saw a couple of your videos and it can't get more informative, compact, and nice to watch than that. Amazing work!
Would you recommend the ZV-E10 for someone taking its first steps in photojournalism? I would also like to use it to record short documentaries and college projects. I'm interested in this camera because I found in a very good price for my reality (Brazil), the other two cameras you mentioned are ranging from 7000-10000 BRL, while the ZV-E10 is 5000.
Anyways, thanks again for the amazing content you've been making. Keep it up!
Hey bro! I'm thinking of getting the Sony ZV-E10 for recording lecture videos, especially at a distance of around 15 meters. Do you think it's a good choice for this purpose? If yes, could you suggest any specific settings or lenses that would work best? If not, I'd really appreciate your recommendation for a camera that's suitable for recording 90-minute lectures at a distance of 15-20 meters. Your videos are awesome, by the way - keep up the great work! 📷🎥
ZV-E10 with the kit lens should be enough
I'm using the Sony 16-70mm F4 lens with Optical Steady Shot inside. Should I turn Steady Shot off or leave it on Standard for the ZV-E10?
I think Sony ZV-E10 is the best overall camera because of the price point, if you put in for student discount, the price will decrease from $700 to $630. Fujifilm -X-S10 is slightly better than ZV-E10 but it’s $1000 dollar. With that $300 saving, you can buy a good lense to compensate for the difference.
Tell me more about this discount? I wanna make sure i let people know.
What website for student discount?
BHPhotovideo & Adorama, both of them offer student discounts
IBIS, image quality, and build is what made me choose X-S10 over zv e10, but thats just me.
I just bought mine last week and this makes me so happy! tysm
Very new into photography and videography here, thanks immensely for the detailed explanation and suggestion. You've got a new subscriber!
Still deciding between the ZV-E10 and R50, what's the best for more simplistic , amazing video quality and good auto focus. Won't be taking many pictures with it. (mostly using it for gym videos/vlogs)
Sony is better.
Same
Sony is better because it doesn't overheat in 1 hour like the Canon R50
R50 is great but if you watch reviews the R50 crops in quite a bit with the image stabilization on meaning while vlogging you do not get a lot of the background in the frame and you are super close to the camera (in the video) even when you have the camera an arm length away. I ended up returning the R50 and I love canon cameras but for me i did not like it for vlogging because of the issue. Now if you have it on a tripod not moving, it's perfect. The auto focus is good on it though.
sony with better lens choices
Is the Sony ZV E10 okay for just personal use? Your response is very much appreciated.
For shooting content videos (makeup/food ) & street photography on an occasion … would you go for the ZV10 or A6700 for a beginner. (More for quality and detail in both photo & video).
A6700✅
Sir I need suggestion
Which one best in outdoor &indoor night time etc...vlogs plz tell friends
Cannon mark 2 or 200d or sony zve10 pls tell
what camera is this video filmed with?
Another fantastic video, your analysis was incredibly helpful and comprehensive-- thank you!
Now im torn between sony zv e10 and canon r50, i will usually used it for lifestyle and specially in concert. Can you help me choose one?
im still using Canon G7x mark 2 (1080p) and it still awesome especially in low light ...
What is the best camera to film sport and also making good picture between those 3 ?
My ZV-1 has just broke on me. Would you buy a ZV E10 or an a6400? I use an a7iii for my photography so have a bunch of lenses with that. Would love to hear what you think!
Was gonna get this but i was waiting to see what the Fuji XS20 had to offer, and after seeing it i decided to continue saving for the xs20
Fair point. that camera has alot more power but also more expensive. I am curious to see if the autofocus is as good. Sony and canon are the best with autofocus
@Tech Through The Lens so far, reviews are saying it's better than the XS10, but im not sure how much better it is. I'm gonna have to wait for someone to make an XS20 vs. ZV e10 video
Recommendations for a secondary camera similar to the ZVE10? Looking for a desk/second angle camera while streaming.
r10 and r50 from canon. You can use those cameras as a webcam.
thank you:) this helped a lot!
My pleasure
Thanks for the review. Would you recommend this camera as an easy to use family video camera that would be used in AUTO mode 100% of the time?
Hello, is this camera a good choice for shooting art n craft videos? (Both monotone n bright colours)
I do product reviews, primarily phone. Is the sony zv-1 perfect for product video shoots?
Superb review!! All info i need are provided tq a lot
Would you recommend this for real estate videos?
Hey, I need your help!
I need to buy my first camera but I am confused between 2 options. Please help me decide the best camera for me. I am more of a photographer and click 80% photos and 20% video. Please suggest!
I’m looking film fireworks… would you recommend this camera or the Sony ZV1 m2?
I just bought it and whole set of wide angle filters from Kase, it will be good choice for my travel blog.
It makes you think about Samsung's nx1, which was down sampling from 6k to 4k back in 2015.
I am going to be buying my first ever camera soon and cannot decide between the zve10 or the a6400. My main focus is video since i am considering going into the film industry later in life, (i still have a ways) but pictures might also be important since i can make a little side hustle being a photographer. The flipping screen on the zve10 is nice, but not a deal breaker since I will mostly be behind the camera, not in front. Therefore I am mostly intrested in video quality. Also, the simplicity of the zve10 is nice, but since I am thinking about gong into cameras professionally, I want to learn everything and so the more complicated body of the a6400 doesn't bother me, if anything, is more appealing. I am a beginner so I do not need the next best thing, but I definitely want to invest my money in something that will be able to grow with me for a while. The goal is to stay under 1k, although the a6400 comes right up to it. I will also most likely buy a used camera off of B&H or adorama, unless you say otherwise. Keep up the good work, I love all your videos!
The zve10 or the a6400 will have a smiliar quality the a6400 is newer. If you want to be in the film industry, your image matters the most and the workflow with the camera. I would look into an canon r7 or sony fx30 . or a fuji xs20.
@@TechThroughTheLens is sonya6100 better ?
I was in the same situation and made my decision. Here's a simple way to decide: If you're doing photo and video choose A6400. If you are doing video only choose Zv-E10
@@TechThroughTheLens The ZV-E10 is newer, came out in 2021 and as Sony's updated colour Science
I watched a different video that says this Sony camera is great for out of the box videoing / vlogging. That even if you’re a beginner it’s user friendly. And you can video straight away. I’m not sure how the a6000 camera is like but I have a canon250d and I never use it because it’s more complicated than I hoped. So if you’re looking for something to whip out and start videoing and it will do the work itself I’d go for the Sony e10
Ok, i just got more confused which one of those 3 to pick.
I like fuji cinematic look, but arguably cuz of faster focus i should pick sony or canon. I would use it for recocrding casual to semi-pro filming my dj sets…
So my question is; is it that auto focus on fuji(which) i prefer - that much worse then those too..?
would you recommend this camera to shoot music videos?
Can ZV E10 simultaneously stream to OBS and record to SD card?
Sorry if I'm asking an obvious question, I could not find the answer anywhere online. Thank you.
Thanks a lot big brother for sharing all these valuable details. Peace ✌🏻
Thank you so much for this review. Can you please clarify - can this camera livestream and record to the card memory (or computer?) at the same time? Thanks again
Should I get this one or the sony 6400?
Informative video! BTW What lens are those?
I was thinking about getting the Sony ZV E10 to shoot yoga videos. I also plan to begin vlogging and use it for social media. Do you think this would be a decent choice for those purposes?

What’s good out of cv 10 or r50 for beauty vlogging that I can add great lighting filters etc and easily upload on social media and UA-cam? Thank you
What's the best option if I want to shoot short guitar videos for social media at home using a tripod? Don't plan on photographing a lot. Can't decide between the R50 and the ZVE-10.
I have this camera for 2 years I only use it for photography with Sony lens 50 mm 27-70 mm for video you think it will be better the Sony zv 1 mark ii? or this it still better?
I used your US link to pick two of these up. I hope it worked for you to get the kickback, because I already had them in my cart, but then clicked your link, removed the ones I had, and added them again. 🤞🏼 good looking out sir
*the ZV Line up except for the ZV-E1 are AMAZING small and Compact. I am glad I still own the OG ZV-1*
LETSSSS GOO! zv1 OG
The e1 is larger, nearly a7c size, but it's still the most up to date hardware and autofocus in a small form factor that can fit in a jacket pocket. No overheating in normal use either.
@@vtxgenie1 but it's also a FF camera which means the lens are expensive New or Used. The E10 would be a good choice if you wanted to get into the Lens changing scene w/o spending tons of money on Lens
Is the sony one worth if im considering portait photography and like astrophotography stuff?
I love the cam but i hate that it doesn't have a digital finder
Are these all comparisons made based on the Sony zv e10 kit lens?

Hi will this Sony ZV E10 be good enough to video record my pigeons performing acrobatics in the air. Looking for something that can zoom also. My birds will fly 300ft-500ft up.
These birds will spin 5-12 revolutions per second when performing. How is the auto focus on flying birds?
Thanks

Can I use this camera for basketball highlights videos?
I am just going to buy my first camera tomorrow. Mostly will be using for my new youtube channel's video recordings and some occasional photography. In my location(india) getting zve10 for 62k, r50 for 75k and r10 for 90k. So considerable gaps. I dont wanna spend too much on my first camera since I am on a budget ( due to a prolonged sickness now) and looking to spend on a quality audio and light setup also. However , I consider myself a tech enthusiast and aspire for a future proof device which might help me as an entry point towards more professional ( strictly in terms of videography) stuff. Plz suggest me the best option
Great question. SO these cameras will be "good enough for a while". The r50 has everything you need for youtube and the 10 is overkill. The main benefit of the r10 will be slow mo at 4k., but its also cropped. For youtube i think r50 is the way to go. And the thing you should invest in is lighting BUT also lenses.
Don't worry about future proofing or even liking the camera. Just get what you will enjoy shooting with and enjoy creating with. The r50 is fun and easy to work with and its my favorite thing about it .
And what about my second camera for magnification shots far and close up?
Just got an almost new zv e10 for 450, so I think I made a good choice
How does the Nikon Z 30 compare to these cameras from a Hybrid both Photo and Video perspective? Im leaning towards the R 50, but the Nikon has caught my eye.
I, too, would prefer the Nikon Z30 were it not for the very expensive EN-EL25 battery this camera uses. Even 3rd Party brand batteries for Z30 are so, ridiculously, overpriced, I dunno why. So, yeah, Sony ZV-E10 is a good choice over a Nikon Z30.
rn on amazon the zv e10 is 599 and the r50 is 893.
I guess that would make the sony a nobrainer?
Regards! I want to shoot a video with my camera. tell me which object is the best for that camera. and explain to me how to shoot 4k. which option should I make it to. thank you
What’s the best one I don’t mind price

Hi i hope you are doing well, i am looking for camera for content creator let me know if i go for sony zv e10?
Hey, can this camera set a date and timestamp watermark on the pictures or video ?
I have a Sony A5000 and have been using it for 5+ years. Would this be a good upgrade? I want to upgrade without breaking the bank but get a camera that takes great photos and videos for content creation.
I dont think you're going to see huge jump in quality but its easier to use for content creation. But the side articulating screen is key
I am a new user. I want to buy a camera. My main focus is photography, but get confused between the two: EOS R50 & ZV-E10. Can you please help me to make a decision, which one should I buy? Thanks a lot
Great question. So the zve10 is made to be a creator camera and does a great job with photos but that is a camera i recommend if you plan to edit your photos. The r50 is also a creator camera and has newer tech, faster autofocus, fast frame rate ect ect.
The upside of sony is you have alot more variety in terms of lenses, becaue you can buy sony lenses and third party lenses. and the rf camera/ r50 only has canon rf lenses, but the rf lenses are a beauty!
And there is no wrong choice here, both are close in terms of specs. Just pick which lens ecosystem you want. And the r50 is overall newer.
But i would also look at the canon rp, its a little bit more but its much more suited for photography with a full frame sensor
Which budget camera would u recommend for beauty vlog ? I do use my iPhone for now but I wanted something light and has video stabilization . I need auto focus tooo 😅
then go with this this is suitable for vloggers
Can i buy Sony zv e 10 for Bird watching and Bird video recording....sir
i usually use gopro for vacation photo, will this b better for quality ?
I dont do underwater / action sports
Get a real camera for photos. Even a phone camera have a better quality than most action cams. It's because action cams have distortion caused by wide lens. But action cams are best for videos and vlogging because of stabilization and wide lens. But not good if the subject is in the distance.
Can you edit afterwards to get the ideal color grade
Which one would you recommend for shooting stand up comedy?
Paranormal hunting?
for paranormal hunting you could probabaly use any camera but you have to make sure its blessed by the vatican or your local church to make sure your resolution does get temporal ghosting. Anytime you record ghosts, they create a transindental aura that introduced alot of noise into your image.
I am ofcourse joking. but yes this would be a great camera for stand up sets because of the low light
Which would you say is better all around hybrid photo and video camera?
definitely the r50
@@TechThroughTheLens thank you!!
I saw a review the ZVE10 stabilization is better running it through Sonys software. 😢😢😢😢

First, I'm jealous, that sounds amazing. And it really depend son your style. If you are the type to just point camera up and take photo and move on , Get a canon r50. If you like to slow down, soak in the moment and the perfect photo. Get a fuji xt30 mk II.
Thank you for your answer! I dont really know much about setting parameters etc, but I want a camera that can deliver nice pictures and stabilized videos, better than a smartphone. What do you think about a Canon G7X mk iii? Or G5X ii?
What should I do if I shot a video on zv-e10, go to the library and he writes to me that "detection is impossible"? What to do please help 🙏
Hey. I recently ordered the Sony ZV E10 with kit lens 16-50 and got it for 533 USD. I have shot some videos using my S20 FE 5G. For content creation, do you think that the ZV E10 with kit lens will be much better? I dont have the time to color grade or do such editing.
I have two soft boxes and a led panel for studio recording.
Hi where did you get it from?
Anyone know anything as compact and for the same price but isn't for vlogging? Like something with better picture quality over videos.
Nice video!
Planning to get first camera tomorrow, im into short films and short cinematography using phone to edit. What camera u recommend between R50 R10 and ZVE-10?
zve10 for sure. mainly because you will have slog 3 for color grading. However, the r50 might be better if you like to shoot in a arri alexa workflow, You can shoot 10 bit hdr thats flat and then work off a base.
But I'm going to throw you a curve ball and save look into the fuji xt30 mk II. The color base is amazing and will make setting up a cinematic in camera look very easy
