I’m a military brat and have lived in Germany,Okinawa, Turkey and Alaska as a child. The fact is most ppl in other countries don’t have these big houses. Even my friend who is from the UK was telling me that most family homes are the size of our 3 bedroom apartments here in the US. She has 4 kids in a 1000 sq foot _3 bedroom 1.5 bath home. We as Americans are one of the few countries that think if u have a few kids that u need all this space and land.
We have a 2 bedroom/1.5 bath condo and I want to live in it forever. Thank you for sharing, because this reminded me that it is totally doable, even with kids.
Good for you! There are so many people who judge by things we have. I chose not to work when the kids were growing up so we didn’t always have a lot of spare money. We live in small cottage in the country where we have been truly happy and content. Our kids are married and happy too. I feel truly blessed, but I have Sister and Brother who have big lovely houses and all the trimmings and people sometimes compare us unfavourably to them. They haven’t the blessing of children. Our success is that we have raised 2 God fearing Wonderful children and being happily married for over 41 years. We retire very soon and are downsizing to 1 bedded bungalow so we can afford to visit my Sister in Florida every year. All the best
Thank you! I'm going to be sharing more home and minimal living on my other channel if you want to hop over there! ua-cam.com/channels/jQCwT35_-lwNp_e4mmTt-w.html
This is what I’m aiming for. The cheapest place with adequate square footage to work towards being debt free. We are considering a 1 bedroom and haven’t had kids yet but know people do it especially in high cost living areas like New York. I don’t want to have a large place and lots of area to clean. Even when the kids grow up and leave the nest, I like knowing I won’t have to downsize.
I'm a single mom of one and we have a two bedroom. I always say I will eventually get a bigger home for my little one to have a big back yard. But, I LOVE my home SO MUCH bc of then changes I've made that it would be hard to even RENT it out.🥴 Great video ‼️
I LOVE this! My husband and I want to live this way as well. Buy a smaller place and pay it off while having less stuff. Thanks for the video! It’s nice finding like minds ☺️
Your townhome I think is plenty big for 5. And you have 3 boys so that’s easy, they can all room together. Your townhouse is beautiful. Do you have 1 1/2 baths or two? Everyone should downsize. People get a little nuts on their square footage. It is a waste of money. You are doing the right thing.
Everyone has to make choices and decisions that suit their life. On purpose I live in a small home: 864 sq. Ft. 2 bedroom 1 bath with an attached 624 sq. ft. 2 car + shop garage on 1/3 acre in rural West Texas. I’m older and it’s perfect for me even if not everyone else would like it - so what! I do all my own car repairs and maintenance so I wanted a small house with a relatively large garage. It’s totally paid for and that allows me to enjoy life and travel on a modest budget. I love my small house, it makes me smile all the time with it’s easy living.
I agree it is plenty of space for a family! Where we live (Southeast US), families typically live in much larger houses, and there's this idea that you NEED more space in order to stay organized and be happy. I want people to know that they don't actually need that much space, and many people around the world already know that!
Would be great to see a house tour and organization tour! My husband, our toddler and new born and I are moving into a 1100 sq ft apartment and I’m still struggling trying to make us all fit in there so we can stay for at least 4 or 5 years while we save up for a house. How do you fit all 3 kids in one bedroom?
Bunk beds, everyone including mom and dad would need to own a moderate amount of clothes for closet space, dual purpose furniture like an ottoman that opens and has storage space
I'm in a similar situation with my fiancé and my step kiddos. I have a flat 2-bedroom that's nearly paid for. She is currently renting a 3-bedroom house and it's wicked expensive. The condo may have to somehow work. Is it going okay for you and your husband?
I really loved your video it really helped me motivated me in so many ways because we are family of 7 seven in a three bedroom two parents and five children I definitely got to modify and sort many things but thanks for your video it made me see things from another prospect and it was very nice great video 👍🏼💖
The thumbnail says how do we fit. I thought this was going to go into detail about how you all fit literally and maybe even cleaning and home management systems
I admit I was disappointed. I thought we would see how you LIVE instead allthe host did was talk and talk and talk and didnt give a lot of insight.. But I still wish you well.
Haha, I agree. This is an older video, and I cringe watching it. I've gotten much more succinct since then! You might enjoy this newer one: ua-cam.com/video/vKV4c8EzDfc/v-deo.html
We have a three bedroom but I was scared to have the kids in their own room so we had 4 kids and ourselves in one bedroom and now we have three soon to be four in our room with us. We have a bunk bed for two children and a crib for the youngest, and a king bed for my husband and I. When the new baby comes he will be in our bed until I get pregnant again or until he is a year and at that point I might have my older two sons share the bunk bed or get a bedside crib for the baby if we are still here (we rent). But growing up my parents had a three bedroom two bath house with 8 kids and we had that until people starting getting married and moving out.

You can do it!
We had 7 people in a three bedroom 1 bath home growing up. No garage, basement, or laundry room either.

Hi Jessica! I agree! We poured so much love into this place, it was really hard to leave it. Currently pouring the same love into our new place tho 🙂

That is awesome! I'm glad it helped!
I love your hair ❤
Thank you for this.
Loved this video! People live in huge spaces with such beautiful decor and it’s just not relatable for me.
In Europe we all live like this. Cash bought and owned. Never live with credit😅
That place is huge

Thanks for sharing your story. It is inspiring 🙌 if you're comfortable, we would love a house tour specially how to fit 3 kids in 1 room. Thanks
Thank you! We actually moved last year to an even smaller farmhouse on a plot of land (I have a video about that too!).

Your townhome is Huge though - it’s not your average two bedroom apartment lmao-
