Guys these are etudes there used to teach certain concepts in music or certain skill when playing your instrument. Don't let what it sounds like throw you off look at score and break it down to show what the technique is about. Then practice one to two measure every day when the etudes first come out expect if your string player then the etudes are longer but for wind player and brass player the measures are mostly about about 30-50 measures so if you practice over the summer one to two measures every day you should have it down by region audition or phase 1 of the audition process. If your a string player god bless your poor soul.
@Someone2464- Thankfully, my school doesn’t have orchestra I am a violinist and a clarinet player so I am auditioning for all region on my clarinet …I am probably going to die I would honestly rather play my violin bc I play at an international level with that so it would be more reasonable but ya
Haha they are challenge but great training. The concepts used by them are used all over the repertoire so it’s time well spent. Even if you get overwhelmed.
In my region you just make region to qualify for area, but it might be different for you. The state auditions have different excerpts from the region ones and are usually a lot harder and you have to play more of the etudes for state recordings.
@@iloveviol.a I think mine works like this : to audition for all area, you have to make your region orch, and then for all state, you have to make all area to qualify for making all state
@@the_moist I believe this is for band all area, for orchestra we have ours in late October and you just record and that is your audition for all-area and then there are like audition rounds (I believe), that then lead to all-state

Im a incoming freshman going for all state. How competitive is all state and all area?

Yea, but I automatically get into area by auditioning for it probably because there’s not enough people in my region that audition
At least I was told I made all area by auditioning for state

For places such as 0:04, are they staccato or spiccato?
Ask your teacher or director
@Clooxi bouncing off the string. Bowing technique.
@@EmbxrTress.0001they could be played that way, it sounds like staccato for the recording.

I wish piano etudes were this easy. kek.
There are extremely easy piano etudes and extremely hard violin etudes. Btw this isn't that easy at all
@@OiseauTriste joke
@@Whatismusic123 sure didn't seem like a joke at first.
klingt sauber aber langweilig .
Terribly boring!
Unfortunately, many etudes may sound boring but are still beneficial to the player to learn.
