Things that make three-year-olds cry in Russia: - Falling off a slide and hurting their knees - Accidentally breaking a glass and Dad getting angry - Being defeated at chess by a grandmaster
Interesting to note that for his age, he didn’t start crying immediately after he lost. He tried his very best to hold his composure and be a good sport until his toddler instincts took over. Obviously a really bright kid with maturity before one should even possess it.
I think Anatoly Karpov offered a draw because he knew Misha was likely to lose due to the time and didn't want to break his heart, which is so sweet considering the smile he gives Misha endearingly :D
Honestly, the original is actually so badass, the kid actually goes against him until the clock runs out, Anatoly offers him the draw, and kid refuses it.
Russian: We invited Albert Einstein to the studio! Audience: ??? *Rotting decayed corpse stitched back together with a pulsating black soul gem surrounded by a sickly purplish-green aura stitched into his open heart cavity shambles into the studio* Kid and Audience: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *flees building*
I mean, I think he was legitimately telling the truth as well as being considerate. Karpov I mean, with that statement “I never go easy”. That didn’t look like the play of someone who was going easy on his opponent to me. They did only get to move 17 and Karpov was up a pawn with probably a better structure. Probably best the kid flagged before Anatoly started picking things off and getting into middlegame tactics where pieces hang and stuff. Lol reminds me of my dad playing my female cousin once. He snatched up her queen and insensitively exclaimed “queen takes queen!” As he did it and she yelled “NO!!!” And started crying. She was like probably significantly older than this kid. Maybe even double his age or more... Who knows though. Maybe he did go a little easy. Idrk I’d have to look at the game again Edit: okay maybe I’m wrong. Only thing that makes me think so is the last move Karpov played, d5, which isn’t a bad move or anything but there were slightly better options maybe and he could have at least snagged a pawn on f5 if he wanted to be materialistic but i mean idk it’s possible he just liked d5 i guess. Engine gives Karpov at least a -3 ~-2.9 advantage in the final position

Misha, I'll admit to you i can't shoot, which is why we invited a pro. Number 1 in committing war crimes, 500 children killed recently, billions of dollars from America funneled in, IDF troop!

@@burcopresents Yes, I had similar thoughts about this... but actually, it was better that Karpov played almost like he would have withstood a grown-up chess player. Even though he's that young, everybody has to learn how it feels to lose against another strong player. Such situations rather strengthen a character than weaken it.
Yeh it felt kind of fucked up to put him in a situation that hes just not emotionally capable of dealing with.. but he also seemed to bounce back pretty quick so fuck it what do I know

Polite and yet very confident in his own ability. That's why he started crying. He couldn't as yet comprehend that it was ok to lose to a champion. But in his mind, he thought he shouldn't be losing. Mind of a champion to be.
yeah i think its stuff like that thats hard to get rid of at such a young age. Even if someone flat out told me i was going to lose (assuming its true) or that i had to do something emotionally taxing i probably would cry at that age too. but if he keeps doing competitions i think he'll have a good spirit.
It's amazing how well and clearly he can converse and understand, Practically forgot he was a 3-yo until the end. I was trying to eat door knobs at his age.
@some dude’s comment Talented, skilled, intelligent more like. Not very many kids have this understanding of an intellectual game, they're kids for a reason. Hell, not even many adults have the intelligence to play chess. This kid is already this good at only freaking 3 years old playing against an elder, imagine him in 10-20 years.
It’s absolutely amazing that a child this young is so intelligent and has incredible emotional control. Imagine the pressure, the crowd, versus a world champion, on live television.
I'm a little concerned, I hope I'm wrong, but putting this kid up on stage in front of hundreds and surprising him with an opponent like that for entertainment for the masses could very well be scarring. Everything we know about kid performers, be they actors or athletes or anything that's demanding and high pressure, is that they can easily end up on a bad path. We've seen it time and time again. I hope his parents balance out whatever his training regimen is and let him be a child. I'd hate to hear in a few years that he's struggling with emotional scars or drug abuse or something else because he wasn't allowed to be a kid. (and a preemptive fuck you to the chest-thumping chauvinists who will no doubt chime in thinking that 'tough love' and kicking kids around is a good way of building character.)
Its not. Its a kid, he dont realize all that, I mean, he know there are a crowd, and he know that he are against the world champion, but we get new fears during life, induced by experiences, society, culture and even media. He are too young to realize the pressure of all that things.
@@therexbellator Don't put your personal insecurities up there with a "preemptive fuck you" if you don't know what you are talking about. Life isn't sugar-coated and making children live in an artificial environment where everybody wins makes for an even worse psychological scarring once they get older and step out of their parents' house. I'd much rather have my kids ready for the chaos of life than let them have "a childhood" that makes them believe the world spins around them at all times. You and the likes of you are part of the opiate problem in this country, you're not fooling anyone with your leftist bullshit. Have some diligence.

@@adhamhalim2928 “lost on time” means that misha ran out of time on his clock. Competitive chess is usually played where each player has a limited amount of time to move their pieces. what r u talking about lol
Before the show, karpov told Misha's family what moves Misha should play. The year old remembered the 10 moves to play, that's all Misha did. The 3 year old has no talent at all. The tv just wanted some views. that's why this game happened

Memes aside, it is actually good for Misha to have strong competition. Many prodigies don't really face challenges that much, and once the time is there they don't know how to handle losses or setbacks. It's good that Misha learns this so early, which will give him much more potential.
Very true
Except, hes three years old
@@justaboringhooman I feel like one of the reasons that child prodigies end up so isolated is that people treat them like an ordinary child of that age rather than someone who is holding full conversations, doing advanced math, and battling chess grandmasters.
@@KefkaTheDemiGod i think we need treat that children 50/50
50 like ordinary child and 50 building challenges around them.
Because in deep they are still children inside.
So since my kid is strong for his age I should invite mike Tyson to brawl with him
Giving a medal after a lost i never knew there was an award for that man i should get more medal than ever
"Are you going easy?"
"I never go easy"
"I was asking Misha"
