Dear Embark, Update 1.5.5 Is Not Great (The Finals)

  • In this video, I talk about #thefinals update 1.5.5! This update from Embark comes with a host of changes, from buffs to the CL-40 and MGL32, nerfs to the Guardian Turret and FCAR, fixes to unwanted bloom on the Magnum and Throwing Knives, and general way of life improvements to game performance and matchmaking! I also consider the impacts these changes have on the light, medium, and heavy classes. In all, I give this update to the Finals a C+ and share my opinions on why!

    the problem right now is that the game at launch was really fun to play and people liked it, of course some classes and weapons etc. were not balanced enough but it was still fun
    now we go from one nerf patch to the next one:
    nerf light = heavy was seen way more
    nerf heavy twice = now we have 3 mediums running around (defib/heal/recon sense)
    slight nerf to the medium = slowly every class feels weaker and weaker
    the game is all about fun and crazy situations, they even show it in their trailers (throwing barrels + c4 and such) but that is slowly fading away with every other patch/nerf
    soon we won't be able to do any damage with anything besides our weapons ^^ well that's overexaggerated of course but i don't want to play another shooter like any other on the market and The Finals felt fresh from the start with it's own identity, fun/crazy/chaos/destrution
    of course we need balance..though balancing one thing and pushing other classes/weapons into the meta like that, will be a never ending cycle that not many players will be there for anymore since they will just leave
    well besides all the constant crashes that many people have, those two things are likely the biggest problems :D and it's not just people with trash PC's ^^

      This just isnt true rn, i do see triple medium, but i still see double light, double heavy, and every combination just as much. I get matched uo with more lighrs and heavys then 2 other mediums

      I think the point here is that a cycle of player’s complaining and developer’s nerfing will strip the game of it’s identity until it’s just a generic shooter.
      That’s why I’m adamant ranked and casual settings need to exist. It’s okay if things are broken, it’s actually good for the general player base. If everything’s broken, nothing’s broken.

      not sure if you played Beta 1, but the game on release was not fun, compared to how it used to be. They 100% nailed the game in the beta (of course excepting bugs and some broke things). The game was really addictive, it made you think, the game modes made sense. On release they decided to take what made the game really good and addictive in the beta1, and change it. I had a discussion with the devs after beta 2 warning them the game will die soon after release if they continue with the changes, they seemed very open but they didn't listen 1 bit. It's on them.

    The defib was 1.5 seconds because of latency timing issues. 0.75 was just the happy medium, any lower and people are going to die before they visually see themselves respawn.

    I think recon is a little hot at the moment but it could be the "it's more annoying to play against" thing. My fix suggestion would be you can't use it with your weapon out or you can't ads while using it. I don't like the change of it doesn't pick you up while standing still because it makes it ineffective against the thing it's supposed to counter which is invis.

      Fair enough, these are solid suggestions. All I’d say is as it stands right now, the recon senses makes invis feel useless. I don’t think any other specialization really hard counters another specialization, so I think the standing still change would indirectly rebalance the light, which, I think is a good thing.

    I have to agree: Turret should despawn during a team wipe. I think the argument can be made for the turret staying up after killing the Medium who placed it, but I believe it should still be able to support the rest of the team as long as you avoid a team wipe!

    I've seen so many excellent games on launch ruined by overbalancing. Fun should always be first. Of course balance matters but you don't have to nerf, you can buff under-performing things. I hate how they cut the revolvers range in half. FCAR is still dominant. Why did that need to happen?
    Let things be crazy. It encourages more highlight moments and genuine fun.

      Totally agree. Any balancing beyond adding new gadgets / specializations / weapons should prioritize buffs over nerfs.

    I think they gotta fix the doors and climbing its really annoying when I just started I got killed so much because I tried to close the door after me

    Thanks for the update! Keep it up Wadds! Would you say you've explored the whole sandbox at this point? Wondering about tier lists or similar ideas for gadgets, guns etc.

    Still no word on the game breaking issues like C4 or the bug that shuts off aim assist at close range. I don't care how strong they make aim assist just make it CONSISTENT. Imagine if on MnK your aim accelerated more depending on what range you're shooting at. It doesn't make sense!

      I hear that. I’ve played controller most my life so I get frustrations when aiming mechanics aren’t consistent. Still having 2 C4’s with the heavy class is just crazy to me.

    I think the reason for the FCAR nerf is because its the most used weapon in Medium.

      @@awedbywadd Sometimes it feels like its the ONLY WEAPON people use anymore. Occasionally you see the AKM or Grenade Launcher, more rarely the Magnum and Shotgun. But my god i am SO TIRED of seeing Every god dame Medium with a FCAR.

    I think the R357 range nerfs were a bit drastic. It now seems outclassed at every range by the assault rifles now, whereas before, it potentially had a slight edge at range.
    Reducing the falloff start range by 34% seems like a massive amount to start off with, especially in conparison to their approaches with other weapons.
    ie 26->25(4%), 80->83(4%), 100->110(10%)
    Compare that to 34% and 20%.
    Seemed a bit hasty to me considering the revolver was hardly percieved as overpowered.

      I agree, Vince. I think Embark wants the magnum to be the weapon of choice for support oriented mediums (probably running the healing beam) who prioritize keeping they’re teammates up and occassionally take entry shots and clean up kills. The magnum excels in this regard because it deals high damage at the range these engagements occur and it isnt time consuming to shoot a few bullets between utility use. But it still feels like it’s missing something, since, as you implied, many fights in the Finals take place at a range beyond what’s ideal.
      Also, do you want on as a consultant? 😂Your statistical analysis opened my eyes on how to present things better in future videos!

      @@awedbywadd Even if that were the case, I would have to disagree with their line of thinking. I think it would only serve to limit the players options of truly viable and fun weapons, which is probably not what they would want if their goal is longevity for this game.
      As for being a consultant, I don't see why not. I love the game and want to see it thrive, but I do have my gripes and concerns.

    i hate that bounce on the heavy grenade launcher.
    in my opinion it should have a prox trigger.

      The bounce keeps it unusable imo. I think a prox trigger might make it busted though, since I believe it has a faster fire rate and more ammo than the CL-40 - it can also open walls. I think I’d like to see it behave like grenades in halo, exploding a second after it makes contact with a surface.

    Hold up.. recon sense isn’t that broken? I have to disagree 100%. Every single final match of a ranked tourney has a team with at least 1 recon sense player. If your team does not have recon sense you can consider yourself the losing team of that tourney. Having the ability to always see where your enemy is incredibly useful information.the amount of times I’ve reached the final match only to get wiped, and then spawn to an immediate hail of bullets raining down on our spawn location has been sickening. How can anyone make a comeback when the enemy team is on a roof, shooting at you immediately and there’s no cover for you to take ?
    I’m sorry but wall hacks have no place in a fps, or at least the way they implemented it. In competitive shooters information is everything.

      Fair enough, I just wouldn’t count out other specializations and the spots they shine.
      I think reducing the range could fix a lot of these issues, and also adding some factor that makes it possible to avoid a recon scan. Or maybe it could just ping a general location rather than show the recon player?

      @@life0reader960 disagree. Both specializations have their place in the game, one just needs to be re-worked. Invisibility has been in Halo since day one, and that's a defining comp FPS.

      @@GrouchyGrizz AHHH, I see... we're getting nerdy with this one ;) This is a really smart, technical change. If I'm understanding you correctly, your point here is that by making the enemy displays one universal colour, you'd be indirectly nerfing the ability of the user to communicate where a specific team is and use that information to single out players/teams that are advantageous to prioritize? Also, I imagine this would also make it harder for a recon-using medium to toggle the specialization on to chase down enemies they made weak.
      I hope I understood that correctly - If so, I think small changes like these are always the way to before complete overhauls. If I could decide the formula it would be: 1) introduce a tweak to a class, then; 2) use statistical data like pick rates to evaluate the effect of the change. Rinse and repeat until everything is in the same ballpark.

    Brother, just a word of advice, don't let your gameplay run after the commentary! It'll hurt your retention stats, and you don't want that if you want this to get pushed in the algorithm. I watched the whole commentary but I click off after you finish. Just add an end screen or something.

    I dunno man, recon is pretty busted simply because there arent any relevant downsides for what you get in return, I think in addition to lowering its range it should be made to work both ways by making its user constantly emit a sonar grenade pulse in the direction they're facing, reveal enemies via pulses, and lock the user in an animation when they use it like Blacklight Retribution's HRV so that its use inherently carries a risk, especially if enemies already happen to be really close by and head in the users direction.

      That’s a solid point and suggestion. Some consequence for using it is definitely the kind of fix I like to see implemented rather than just scraping it.

    Yeah besides the REVIVE invincible time getting nerfed this patch SUCKED! They basically did nothing while saying they did ALOT.
    In most situations, you are indeed better off with the HEAL BEAM (healing is always good, plus you negate TOXIC GAS which is quite common) or GUARDIAN TURRET (its a Turret, an extra gun is always fun). And I agree the best way to use the Recon senses is when playing with others. Although i will say people that USE recon senses are STUPIDLY aggressive and will chase you to the ends of the earth just to kill you cus they can just flick the dame thing on and off at will.
    Like even when your playing Quick play or Unranked Tournament, you can always TELL when people are communicating. The Crazy thing with Recon Senses is the fact that not just ONE person will run it (which makes the most sense in my opinion) but 2 or even all 3 will run it sometimes. (and you can HEAR every time they activate it) At that point their is no real way to "get the jump on them", they know exactly where you are and where your going to come from. Not like you can grab your buddy and reset ether cus they will just CHASE you down and kill you.
    Needless to say i am curious how they are going to "rework" Recon Senses. Cus it DOES kinda need it, not in the "Its OP" sense, more of the "This is so F@#$ING Annoying" sense.

      I agree about recon. I think it’s one of those things where better and more aggressive players use it, so people just associate it with being broken. I made a new video discussing some potential changes they could add though, since if they’re going to change it, i’d like to at least see it not nerfed into the ground

    Respectfully, Recon still has a ton of value when not in a coordinated stack, in fact I'd argue it actually has more value when not coordinated and has diminishing returns when you are in a stack. It's fantastic, and busted in either case imo, but running when not coordinated allows you to be able to cut out the middleman of needing your teammates to ping what they see or make a callout. It lets you take everything into your hands and ensure that information is being both recieved and given to your teammates. Again, it still has insane value when running with a stack since you can better make plays based on your information, bit I think you do hit some diminishing returns with a full coordinated stack.

      For sure, coordinated teams are just that. Coordinated. Definitely a crutch for solo players. My only response would be that a stack is going to be able to exploit knowing the minute movements of a player or team better than a solo can. A solo cannot be in 3 places at once, they cannot have 3 angles, and 3 different sets of gadgets to traverse the map in one way or another. That alone makes the ceiling for stacks running recon much higher. So diminshing returns, maybe marginally. But a much higher ceiling.

      Throwables need a fix for sure. As many have said, you should be able to throw grenades faster too

    I don't get why they buffed the grenade launchers, they were already powerful as it is and annoying to deal with in some situations. The turret needs a bigger nerf that isnt slightly reducing the health of it. It needs a nerf where it has to cooldown so it cant shoot fot maybe like 5 seconds so then its easier to deal with

      @astroboilogan2864 I think what's often the case in these situations is developers just look at the pick rate percentages and make changes until they are somewhat balanced across the board. They can't get it right everytime, as it's really trial and error.
      Also, I don't know if I'd go in that direction with the Guardian Turret, but rather give it either less HP or decrease it's fire rate.

      I finally got all the medium specializations fully upgraded and I can confidently say that the turret just isn’t good
      I don’t think it needs a buff but maybe a rework although I don’t have anything in the idea department for what that would be 😅

    I disagree a little bit with the defib take. I think that the invulnerability was key because too many times have i revived someone in a dangerous area, just for them to die almost instantly because the invulnerability is too low now, which makes it so that im still down a teammate and my defib wont refresh for another 45 seconds. I think they should have kept the invulnerabilty from the defib the same. Thats just my opinion though

      My only rebuttal here is that in your scenario, the game rewards you or your teammate for going down and punishes your opponents for getting a kill. Risky revives are fun and exciting when they’re pulled off, but it shouldn’t be something that happens as much as it does, especially since the pace of the game and invulnerability were making defib spam a necessity.

      @@awedbywadd i think its more rewarding reviving a teammate while having 2 teams shooting at ya just for you to pick a buddy up and then com out on top, with the way it is now that just cant happen the defib is honestly useless in high tense situations, you could run in get the revive and get out now they just die, its not like battlefield where you have a half a dozen teammates behind ya so his death dont matter but when you only got 2 it does and like you said you come back with 40% health so its not broken as say the healing beam on a heavy or having invis and thermal vison at the same time or even the recon sight on medium all those i would say are alot worse then the defib invulnerability timer and now thats its reduced its not as good anymore

      @gabrielcolon1614 Respectfully disagree. The defib is still invaluable, it just isn’t able to revive your teammates and ensure their escape with near 100% certainty anymore. The defib can’t be so good that it bails you out of “tense situations.” Sometimes it can, just like a 1v4 in a 13th round of comp snd in cod is possible. But the exception shouldn’t be the rule, since that dilutes the excitment of those situations when they do happen.

    While I kinda agree with you that some of the changes in this patch seem like they won’t really do much (damage changes by 1 point not changing ttk) it was also a hot patch right? They did a bigger patch a couple weeks ago and did this one to quickly address some problems.
    They have also stated that they make the choices they make based on the data they have in the game, that’s why they nerfed controller aim assist, their data showed it was too effective. I imagine these damage changes are done so that they don’t drastically change the game between patches and can get more data to see if these changes do anything.

    i can't make my friends play 50 matches just to play ranked, they all quit cause of that wall. I think more points per match to get gear and a a lil more fast lvl on battle pass also. sry for my bad english

      Your English is fine! I understood! I agree it’s a bit of a grind to get to ranked. I think the reason they do that is so people solo or duo queueing ranked don’t get paired with players who don’t really understand the game yet. In other words, the grind ensures everyone is at a baseline before playing ranked - at least, in theory… doesn’t seem to work that way when I get fills 😂😂

    Recon senses becomes a massive issue at higher levels of ranked. I've played mostly casual modes today and rarely seen it.

      @@thesaucyprophesy2939 a little bit semantic here since utility that gives information does so on a spectrum - if you see a guardian turret or a mine, chances are there's an enemy or enemy team nearby, but no one would say it gives as much of an indicator of an enemy's location as recon senses. Also, I don't like when people predicate their opinion off the notion that someone wouldn't understand because they don't play in high ranked lobbies. I've played against good players and good teams. The maps with few exceptions (maybe Seoul) are designed in a way that you can move between cover with few open stretches, which, guess what, can be covered with utility like the mesh shield.

    are you saying that the turret needs a nerf? It's complete garbage, the time to start up is stupid and the cooldown on it is too long IMO. Also the amount of dmg it does is not really all that significant if you aren't already getting hit by other players. Right now as it stands it's more of an annoyance and jarring when it hits you but easily managable.
    I think they should stop with the nerfs and buffs to certain things and just make better counters. Take the nuke for example, instead of giving in to people crying about it being too strong, why not make another projectile counter, perhaps for the light? or at the very least increase the APS cirlce. I think fine tuning with nerfs and buffs is something that has to and will happen but also introducing better counters will make the game more variable and we won't just see the typical HHM or HMM comps in ranked.

      Not really a nerf per se just would like to see it’s hit box fixed. Also, the effect of the damage it does is class dependent, a light getting shot by a turret and peppered even a little by someone else is so fast a death sentence it belongs in COD.
      On your other points, I agree. I don’t know if you saw my “what’s wrong now” video, but I made this exact point. Adding gadgets, specializations, and weapons to counter the favored strategy is, imo, always the path forward. Doing so also often comes with the unintended effect of making something previously overlooked viable.
      I will stand by my opinion that nukes need to go, though.

    My only problem and it’s something I hate so much is playing against team with MMM or MMH or MMH.!.I’d rather walk on hot sharp nails bear foot instead of going against MMM (Tryhards or not) it’s annoying.!.I understand casual but in tournaments especially ranked it need to be LMH no double or triple stacking but I doubt if that’ll ever happen.!.other than that the games amazing n refreshing

      I covered this point in my first video. To me, it’s obvious that Embark should make changes to move ranked towards 1L/1M/1H. I think this makes it the most competitive and engaging from a viewing perspective.

    Im on ps5 and noticed the scar nerf right away tbh even tho its not much... usually able to miss a couple shots but still finish the kill, yesterday that was not the case.... had to land every single shot when shooting someone full health that wasnt 5 feet away from me lol. Gonna go back to the AK tonight now.

      I come from console gaming so I vow to always look out for you. I know us mnk users like to complain about aim assist, but there has to be something implemented to protect controller user's experiences when the two worlds collide (more so now since crossplay is almost a given in today's games).

      @@awedbywadd Indeed, and all that did was make is SUPER EASY to count bullets. 6 for Light (150), add 4 for Medium (10 =250), add 4 for a Heavy (14=350).
      So you STILL got 6 to 14 bullets left if you hit every shot in the chest.

      1 mag 1 quick kill but if enemy moves enough fast you can waste that needed 1 bullet to kill, however fcar is mostly op in 1v1 but in 1v2 akm is way better

      It's difficult because the weapon that seems most out of place in this game is the sniper. At its core, the Finals centres around team oriented, objective play. 99% of lights I see are on a crane somewhere 200ms away from any site or teammate. It's like when they added Kali into R6, she just never fit. I'm not saying take the sniper out of the Finals, only that it's something that needs to be treated delicately.

    When you start talking about recon senses im like whattt its the most broken thing in this game taking that i used it for like 150 hour and 250 of gameplay with average combat for sure above 9k in a single game and as a solo player with no healing or anything ( pre aim prefire wiping entire sequad ) if its up to me it should be removed or make it for a small raduis to make the game fair for everyone

      Hi Ax, hope you’re doing well!
      I think a smaller radius is the answer. Pre-firing people is part of the deal when you use recon senses, I mean, each specialization has to have something that differentiates it, so I don’t know if that’s the problem. Also, there’s ways to counter it. If you’re going to take a 1v1 fight against a player running recon and lose, that’s your fault for doing so. You have to change your playstyle based on what your opponenets are doing - there will be weaknesses since it’s impossible to run everything.
      I’m thinking on the fly here but maybe there should be some visible indicator that tells people someone is using recon. It’d be nice if Embark added a way to know what your opponents are using too.

      I got you over here but there is a misunderstanding im actually destroying everyone even my teammate acussed me of cheating while seeing im using recon its fun for me but its for sure not for everyone not for anybody but me its like bulying everyone just to enjoy and never loose a 1v1 because you know everything and believe me when i tell you never . At first i was enjoying it but after a while when used to it you can do si much with it.. and i only play tournament so in last game its always bulying the other team maybe its my personal opinion that recon is soo op in this game if you have a good aim and game sense finally its a pleasure my friend and i forgive me for talking so much.peace..

      And one part i forgot to answer is that you know what the other teams are using you just need to keep remembering it from the showroom of the teams above each one it should be in the scoreboard somewere but the game is still in early stages and needs some work funny thing today i spawned after wipe and i couldnt shoot thats when i lost a 1v1 😂 good night

      @@awedbywadd You're looking at the one damage instead of forgiveness. Sure, the single damage doesn't mean much on an individual bullet level, but one damage adds up when you start looking at how the game is played on a functional level instead of a theoretical level, which is a mix of headshots and body shots, at varying ranges, with varying health pools. Functionally you're not looking to change how much damage it does in an optimal up close situation, you're looking to tone down how effective it is at ranges, without comprimising its actual range capability. The easiest way to do that is to check its damage slightly, which compounds as you start to get further away and precise shots become harder.

      @SOFUBISM your response is really articulate and intelligent, but it’s out of context. The context was the initial poster said the fcar melted people in half a second. If you’re getting melted in half a second across the map by the fcar you’re facing a cheater or Shroud. I understand it’s general effect on the game, I still think headshot multiplier is a bigger issue, but I’m also reluctant to support nerfs in general so, i’ll accept a slight compromise.

    Hey, I don't usually follow up avidly on update log, but your video popped up and I said why not.
    Easy to follow for the most part even if I don't know much about the game, only played a bit on pc recently. Only cons is the presenter voice of the game talking over you making it difficult for me to focus on what you say at 6:47 (a bit before, a bit after).

    Recon sence is busted, i tried it for first time a few days ago and dropped 27 kills in a single round. Also the devs have said its op looking at thier data, this ends the debate 😂

      Did it ever occur to you that better players migrate towards certain specializations hence skewing the data in one direction? Or that nerfing the recon senses would simply move these players towards a new specialization, immediately skewing its data?

      @@awedbywadd so the devs data is wrong? I'm a diamond player and I do pretty well without recon with it I'm God tier, this tells you it's busted... Also evey final round when it's 3v3 boils down to which team has recon or not. Without a recon player it's pretty much a guaranteed loss, I think I've only won once against it when my team didn't have it. I don't like to use it as I feel like I'm cheating, I've had big games before I tried it. Literally went 20+ kills every game I used it. The 27 kill round was my first time using it, before this my best was 22 but that isn't a consistent kill rate as I usually average 10-14. I played a rank tournament, like I said 27 kills first round, 25 second round, and 24 third round, then dropped 12 in the final. It's busted dude... I get what your saying that people will go on to use something else and that will become the next thing, but if it means myself and others are not dropping this many kills, it will be better for the game.

I said it doesn't tell the whole story since better players will always use what's best, while there's a whole portion of the game's population that plays to have fun. It'd be like saying statistically speaking basketball teams that have 3 or more players that can east bay win more than teams with 0 players that can east bays, so we got to ban east bays.
      Obviously it needs to be changed, that's why I suggested ideas to get the ball rolling - but just saying ah its busted lets nerf it into the ground isn't going to do the game any favours. Actually what'll do is hurt the game as players who don't play the game to win win win will have something they like changed in a way that only appeases competitive players.
      Turns out some people play the game for fun!

      @@awedbywadd I'm in the remove it from the game completely camp. My other gripe with it is that it may enable actual wall hackers. Current state is not good for anyone, especially those trying to have fun or play any kind of tactics other than straight gun fights. It's not fun imo, although I can see why some lower skill players may find it fun. Well we should see what embark decide to do with it over next few days, usually update on Wednesday so fingers cross they find a happy meduim to keep everyone happy...

Like the one about gas. Besides fire grenades you can use a heal beam on who’s stealing and there health won’t go down in gas. And I feel like lights are really good if used correctly. As a psychopath who uses the LH1 on my light I find great success in straight up being a canon fodder and dealing shit ton of damage. I feel like sometimes why people think light is bad is because they try to win all by themselves. When they actually do need a teammate most of the time. Also defib nerfs made me really happy. Triple medium is now way less over powered. All the games needs rn imo is new content. And specifically maps and game modes. Also a reacon nerf. Keep up the content.

      Regarding your criticism of my opinion that gadgets should dissapear with wipes, i want to say two things. First, the situation you’re talking about where a medium is actively healing a stealer requires a significant amount of coordination. While at the highest level this is just expected, for most players this scenario is highly untenable, and losing a steal because some medium spammed the sight with gas is just not it. That leads to my second point, i also recommended in the same breath adding some gadget to the light class that makes it better for breaking sites, since gas and explosive mines are an easily identifiable headache; it seems natural that the light should fill this gap. Not to mention, this would make the light more a player in ranked and buffs the class. Two birds with one stone.

      I think they should nerf the hitpointz of the shield from 1000 to 800 and extend the cooldown by 5 seconds and for the flamethrower just damage reduction. There is just nothing you can do if you accidentally run in to a heavy with a flamethrower even if you hit all your shots youre just dead

      Fair enough. With you on the mesh shield. The only thing I’d add about the flamethrower is that close range is where it’s meant to shine. While it may be annoying (I don’t personally like it either), nerfing it because player’s use it effectively doesn’t feel like the correct philosophy. If you just open up sitelines against someone using a flamethrower, they’re going to run into trouble.

      I think invis has it’s place. Without it, the light would need some big changes to be viable. I’ve also seen some lights choosing dash in combination with the invis grenade over the invis, so it can’t be too broken - otherwise it’s all you’d see.

    Tbh I dont really agree with a lot of what you said about the changes. Recon deff needs to be reworked. It has instant value. You can see where teams are and where they are going. If youre about to 3rd a fight you can visually see which team is losing the fight. It hard counters invis. And the cooldown is short as hell for tbe value you get. The thing thats most broken about recon is that there is no counterplay. The enemy has no idea when its active either. Its not like nukes where youre still able to shoot the c4 out of their hand. You literally cant do anything about using in game wallhackacks. I abuse it every day to climb ranked. Just like I abused gas can nukes pre nerf. It just doesnt make sense for a team to not be running recon as it is today.

      Lots of specializations have instant value. The healing beam begins to instantly heal people, the mesh shield instantly blocks bullets, the cloak makes you invisible instantly, the grapple/dash instantly repositions you, the slam instantly renovates buildings interiors, so I don’t know about that as a criticism. The clear
      counter to the recon is team play and another recon. I agree about it countering invis, though. I’d get rid of that too. I would also reduce the radius and make some visible indicator so everyone knows it’s being used.

      ​@@awedbywadd sure, healing beam starts healing instantly but its not the same comparison really. healing beam doesnt instantly get your team mate back to full health, grapple doesnt instantly reposition you, dash does but its not that far away from the starting point. recon will literally tell you where everyone is at the press of a button. plus while youre healing or shielding, youre not shooting back so theres a trade off. there is no trade off with recon. grapples and dashes arent as broken as people make them out to be. you can still shoot people out of the air or after a dash. and invis only gives you instant value if your enemies dont open their eyes lmao its not that hard to spot an invis running straight at you. the thing is. the counter arguments you provided all have counter play. there is no counter play to recon. "team play" to counter recon could be said about just about anything else in the game so i dont see how thats a viable argument against recon. you can win against cheaters using full blown aim hacks if you coordinate with your team well enough.
      I think the only way to balance recon is to make it a scanning ability up to a certain distance like bloodhound's scan in apex instead of a toggle. that way the enemy knows their being scanned and there is room for counter play. that or they can highlight footsteps tracks like in COD.

      This is kinda ridiculous ngl. I put a massive amount of energy into thinking about this game, the update and its effect, and ways for Embark to fix it. I then spent many more hours editing the video, adding graphics and text, SFX, recording and balancing audio, and so on.
      I did so because I enjoy playing the game and I want to see it improve. It’s funny how I can spend all that time, and somebody behind a keyboard can take 5 seconds to leave a comment trivializing it.

    its literaly 0 seconds after defib , all difference in m/s plus the s. in 0 second instead of 0.75 sometimes you would get shot even b4 the animation so yeah . Revolver was and still remains a headshot scan . change is fair . Fcar is legit op just hit ur shots on target or pick AK which is gonna feel the same or even better . The other guns changes is just nosense for ppl playing normals . Patch is what so ever rly good . Stop adressing things u just dont like . Playerbase is a kindergarden nowdays and this keeps out the new players . Everyone is so upset from this game for some reason. Only real problem of this game is cheating which is problem of all fps games out there , nothing new . They deliver good patches , where other games just dont care

My first comment was in response to you saying I’m just complaining, to which I replied, it’s possible to really like something (like the Finals) and criticize it. I am case and point of this. Regarding your first two points, you just told me something I said in the video as if I didn’t say exactly what you said. I also said that the weapon changes are just for pick rates and have no effect on the meta - so once again, the same point you made when telling me I was wrong. Moving on, I don’t see what productive conversation could come out of a “hit your shots” comment. And I also ended the video by saying I was very impressed with Embark’s commitment to improving the game, i.e., the 3 way of life fixes. So… there’s that.

      @@awedbywadd yea sadly gaming is going towards this way especially the pvp games. I hope one day there will be a great anticheat that makes legit players have more fun and improve their skill level.

      Coming from high level COD it really is too bad, especially since I’m convinced anti-cheat makes games run worse and still doesn’t work lol
