I love your comment in the end about the semi active players. I've spoken to a lot of people that say the game doesn't really have a reason to grind it, that it doesn't give them motivation to do so. They mostly say that the game is fun, and they play it casually, but making it more competitive will encourage players to get better and have more fun in doing so. Just imagine the high elo lobbies and the (future) esport scene where players will analyse strategies, adjust to problems, come up with new solutions, we would see so much more creativity in defending/attacking places just because people are going to try to top each other. Honestly can't wait for the pro analysis of different maps, locations, cashouts, etc.
Great vid btw, the only one out of the "the finals is dead" that isn't actually made to milk views, shows genuine solutions to problems and doesn't yap for 10 minutes to get ad revenue.

im not sure i entirely agree...i've finished the battlepass, caught up on the career, did the personal progression, etc. i have nothing left to grind atm.
but i still play th game cuz i need the practice and cuz its fun, i dont like playing ranked cuz im not really 'sweaty' like that and i dont like doing 'the meta' (i've gotten into sledge/charge lately)
while not everyone will just keep playing the game cuz its fun, and having something to gain from playing besides JUST entertainment is nice, i dont think it's fair to say "we need this game to be SUPER focused on ELO grinding and competitive to keep players" as if it's the only real motivation....there's plenty of motivation outside of that comp group.

Speaking as a casual player, it’s not that the game doesn’t have the ability to be grinded, it’s just that I have a life and don’t have a lot of time to play video games so I just try to enjoy it instead of stressing about meaningless in game things
( sorry for bad english) I played in the games beta and they were so nice to give me 10000 in game currency. but the tricked me and removed all my money and cosmetictiks when the game released. this made me very mad and ruined a big part of the game for me. also in the beta the lights doubel barrel-shotgun was acctuly good and could to hit heavys but then they nerfed it and it made the light unusable and runied the light for me.
The gameplay is also so sloppy and its such a snoose fest, the enemis game tank soooo many shots before they die. like how can you have fun playing this game and mediuems loves theire glaze gun and the trigangelet in a corner and heals eathceother. also the light sniper sucks, when you headshot the heavy the do not die but have a quater of their health left and thats sooo annoying and trash, like if you get a big jucie bullet through your head then your gonna die not survieve with a quater of your health left.
all the other weapons the heavy has is abslout gargabe. this makes the heavy not very versitle with its only good weapon being the sledge hammer. the heavy cant do shit when the enemy is 3 meters anaway from you. the rocket laucher is ass and has a long cold down which makes it useless. and the infamous goo gang gun is a useless peice of trash, you can not kill with it and it barely protect yourself with it.
mediums are by far the most op class and the most boring one. everytime i see a medium on the battlefield i hurts my eyes and soul because i know they a gonna glaze and glaze and glaze their teammate to eternity and onwards. all medium are goonner who realese their life load on thiere team which makes it impossible to kill them. the mediums also have the most op and verstile loadout.
the finals have also very many pc and consle performance issuses. very often my game wont run and it lags out and crashes, it also happend with one of my friends. this game is a poor exuess of a game and should not be played by anyone ever. the second someone mentions the finals my whole body quakes in pain. please never metion the finals near me. the finals is a disgrace to the human race and should have never been made. but the beta was alright, mabye if they bring the beta back i will take back my alligationsions towards this game.

The Gravitydrop vs Ottr drama over cross hairs has got to be one of the strangest slap fights I've ever seen in the finals content space lol

As someone that loves this game, I have to say that overwatch just has many more options for playstyle, and the fact that the meta in the Finals changes every 2 weeks makes it more incosistent
@@THE-STREET-HERO what are you on? The finals have a lot of different playstyles. Sure OW technically has more, but 70% of them are out of the meta and unusable. OW meta has always been super unbalanced. The finals' meta is quite consistent with only a few meta guns being adjusted for balance.

Honestly The Finals is just a baby of a live service. I'm more interested about this conversation at it's first year anniversary. It may not feel like this game is new, but it's been out for less than six months, and live service is a marathon. It's all about what embark brings season to season, and how the community evolves.
On the other side, I see a lot of people that I match with spending money on battlepass minimum. I think it's a good thing. Embark has a solid product, and they're a small studio further divided into two teams (they have arc raiders in their pipeline as well). With the funds, and knowing they'll use them wisely, I'm sure they can continue to cook and deliver at the pace they started with. (major content drops every 3 months, events monthly, balances biweekly-ish, etc)

i want to say (as of my own experience) the finals is a game where you TRUELY need to be engaged and really trying to get your skill up so you have a good time, besides tf2, i now think its really boring and not a lot of action. and the finals is the opposite and it pretty easy to engage in

I just wanna buy items seperate from bundles, so many times i see a single item that i would 100% buy for a decent price over having to buy the full bundle its tied to for $20

yeah would be nice but as TBo said below, the devs have to rely on this kind of tactic to generate revenue. At least the game is free and the bundles are cheaper than COD, Overwatch, Fortnite and others. It's not perfect but I understand they gotta make money. In my eyes they're worth every penny. Im also grateful they have multiple bundles per season that give out free coins. The bunny outfit bundle gives free coins, the starter pack gives free coins, and the battlepass gives out coins. Dont forget the devs also added EARNABLE coins in the career circuit! It's rare for a dev team to allow you to do this! Makes me really happy they have options for everyone including those who dont have as much money to spend.
@@GravityDrop The thing is IMO they would probably make a good bit more money by letting people buy items seperate from bundles at a slight markup, people are willing to spend 5 here, 10 there on bits that they like way more often than having to spend a lot at once on a bundle including items they may not want, im personally one of them where i would buy several items straight away if i could, but the fact id need to spend upwards of $40 ~ 50 to make the outfit i want is silly, where i could just buy the whole outfit i want for say, $10 ~ 20 (Pricing should depend on item/rarity etc) Im not saying all bundles should be gone, just give us the ability to also buy items seperate and then have the bundle be a discount for the multiple items.

I think some people are afraid to be bad at a game at first I have to show this game to multiple of my friends who all said it was really unique and fun but then after getting rolled a couple games, they hop off and go back to the game and playing for four years
Improving the meta/balance and matchmaker would make this experience a lot better for new players! This is why they're both so critical. No one likes queuing up as a new player and go against people who have played for months! Hopefully your friends give the game another chance! Even I just recently started playing it and after a few matches and finding the right strategies for the game, it’s actually fun and even the causal matches starts to feel competitive but not sweaty or raging, I had a few close games just because of either bad plays or close call matches. It’s fun and deserves a lot of respect. At least better then the current cod or other games that’s out there

I guess since I’m coming from the tactical shooter side of steam where average player base could be 2k-3k on a Saturday. So it feels like this game is full of players but of course a lot of people won’t have that perspective. I’m not competitive so idc about ranked levels and that grind. I just want fun and balanced time. Surely this game isn’t going anywhere b/c they’ve made money from the battle pass and store. They’ll get the state of the game exactly how the devs want it. I believe it

People also forget that this January and February was huge for games in general. Helldivers, Palworld, Last Epoch, Apex updates, etc. an absurd amount of popular games came out very quickly right as the launch bump started to fall off.
That's not to say its the only reason, or even the biggest one, but it definitely helped suck away any space the game had. I'll be playing this game as long as Embark supports it though, I adore this game, and hope to cast some matches when they improve custom lobbies
This is the best video of the finals I’ve ever seen. Never seen someone with the guts to admit that FPS cheating is currently a problem with little solutions, I think people need to talk about this more so people stop expecting embark to drop a leet anti cheat that noscopes wall hackers out of the air
yes would love if the gameshow events just changed teh environment more. Both alien/retro invasion and meteor shower should vastly alter a section of the map. Doesn't have to wipe players out but makes the most of the destruction.
Waiting for the circuit challenges to unlock is terrible. I was playing consistently until I hit 7/7 on tier 1 and got bored waiting for tier 2 to show up.
I believe they will expand from the input of this season.

About the dominant weapons in the meta, sure it gets old to see the same weapons be used, but I want to be careful about conveying the message to Embark, cause I actually think the way those weapons "feel" are pretty good, and instead they should study how to make other weapons feel stronger to keep up

Obviously some just look at the negatives and some are blinded by a great game and think there isn’t anything wrong. You covered mostly everything spanning over both sides and proved how the game has a lasting future. The AMA that happened yesterday I believe backs so much of what you said and it really seems like they are going head first into making this game truly amazing. They even said how they are planning for years to come.

Theres an insane amount of hackers in plat+ lobbies its mad, i once encoutered 3 hackers in 5 different games while plat 1 pushing diamond 4
You know, the thing that pushed me away like most new games, is the networking and servers. People with worse internet are getting forgotten and skipped by devs, and they focus on people who have more than stable and fast internet. For some there are no choices in terms of internet, like myself. My ISP still haven't upgraded our internet that is 20 y/o and is extremely slow and unstable cuz of cable thiefs. I would come back if i wasn't seeing constant teleports
I will say this is definitely something that is hard to measure, but often overlooked by developers. When I was in high school I had bad wifi for years and even in college. So I totally understand feeling left in the dark if you have DECENT internet but still get constant stutters, rubberbands or DCs. Like I said this is really hard to measure and I dont know too much about Embark or THE FINALS' servers. Right now a lot of the West is transitioning to faster/fiber internet. Even in the small towns across the board. A lot of developers kinda assume the majority of players already have access to fast + reliable internet. It's an awkward point but in the next 5 years virtually everyone will have access to fast and reliable internet. I personally have been waiting years for fiber to hit my area. I have a great download speed and decent ping/jitter but awful upload speed which can suck when livestreaming. Thanks for sharing this input please keep us informed if anything changes or if this improves for you! I recommend trying at least once a month or once every patch to see if it improves!

And while yes we are transitioning, the ISP's like to cut costs to say "they done the job on paper" while doing an awful lot. For clarity, i study ICT and i have been digging a big on my ISP. I am from central EU, we mostly have a french ISP "Orange" that is the most popular, yet underwhelming ISP to exist in terms of internet. My cables are copper cables that are 20 years old, recently mold was found near a central. Another thing i think is sometimes contributing are DDoSers. They appear sometimes and do stuff, but imo that is cuz lot of russians play on servers. Also, the servers in EU imo are also flooded with cracked out gamers and small streamers, while little casuals are rare for me. Anyway I got sidetracked, when i meant Orange messed up, I REALLY mean it. Imagine pulling a fiber cable almost to our street, only to stop at the bridge and say "yeah good enough". Idk how to sue them, but they have tricks up their sleeve. I often harrass them about the time we will get it because they said that we are constantly moved down the list because we are not "profitable"
when finals released all of my friends switched to it from apex because apex was kinda in a low spot then. finals was more of a much needed break from apex. i enjoyed the game ngl but it was nothing more than a break for us.

honestly, the finals is my favorite fps game in a long time, but when the concurrent viewer rate on twitch is 241, it’s hard to argue the game isn’t dead. still has a core player base, and hopefully its blows up again, but as it stands it’s hard not to be disappointed.
Extremely disappointing. It's a rare case where the game is super popular but there are no content creators. It's for a reason tho. Embark has left us in the dark since season 2 began. We have gotten so little to grind for and make content for. Hopefully Season 3's ranked changes introduces more incentives to grind. Im also hoping tournaments have a big impact on the community! Im optimistic, the Finals has a bright future! They just missed on Season 2. Thanks for the input!

Pro Casual here [can win casual games but will lose anything ranked] I wish they really went in on their style. Its supposed to be like a Game show in a virutal world, but it didnt really feel like that until they added the new maps like Horizon, they try to do events, but to keep them balanced you never really notice it. I'll read "ALIEN INVASION" and be like oh okay and notice nothing happen at all, like you said, but it should also be more than that, they should give winners mario party wheels with like exp or the weapon coins or SOMETHING, its A GAME SHOW.
Competitively, it feels like theyre bold when somethings too strong, but not when somethings too weak. The reason im not a comp is because im a Heavy Sledge User and ill regularly hit 8k damage with 2500 or more support, with obj based on if im the one supporting or being supporting, and theres always things that im like "they can do this without breaking the game EASY." Like, Im a shield/demoltionist, and the bubble shield are ALREADY FANTASTIC, but if Light Users can literally teleport and grapple away, I, a heavy, should be able to instant snap a bubble shield to skip the throw animation, but still have to wait for the shield animation, if anything at the cost of Health. Heavy grenade launcher should have less explosive time or more damage. I get why theyre slow, because theyre getting their footing, but if theyre going to be bold with removing items, they should be bold and expirement with items, maybe make some items or changes unranked exclusive, give people new toy syndrome.
Except the point of weapons pick you was talking of was s1 meta but definitively not s2 meta (especially on the heavy weapons you talked about) . You are pretty right on most of the points, but nobody's gonna come back on the game until they rethink the game a more competitive way. Most of top500 players like me just decided to leave it these last weeks, in my case i decided to leave it because of the eac removal, favorising cheaters in hight rank games and the world league being cancelled because of a DDOS , i mean, it definitivelly became a cheaters paradise.

Honestly I completely agree with all of your points, and I might add I love the way that you go about presenting your points. Just like the game, it’s refreshing seeing someone with such a neutral

To add, spectator mode can help content creators create more captivating content. A replay system would be great for the share-ability of the game as well!

Also having avg Mmr is a good idea but it will make queues a lot slower for people higher ranked. That’s how that works
With a good balance of weapons, I think it would be interesting to fix the classes per team (1 heavy, 1 light, and 1 medium). This would make the teams more balanced, and each character would have a different and complementary role. This would eliminate those moments when you try to kill someone and have two Mediums healing them. Some games already do this by limiting the class, like LOL or even Overwatch 2.
Death Cam view after being killed would be perfect to avoid false accusations in cheating, which could've dropped the reports number and allow the support team to work with "real" reports on cheaters
Im sure this will come and was intentionally left out for this reason. They dont want to give the impression the game is filled with cheaters, even if it may be. Granted Im not totally sure how demanding a killcam could potentially be. Very well may still be finalizing it to avoid performance issues. Things like FPS and PING trackers were also probably left out for the same reason. If players could see their FPS they might be more frustrated than they would be just focusing on the fun gameplay.
@@GravityDrop you can use your own meter anyway. Not for the ping of course. It shouldn't be so demanding to add the kill cam. Epic made the whole match record available on the same engine)) I am not a game developer, so I don't know how hard it is to implement it though

I think there is huge technical difficulties to bring that in, has something to do with the server side destruction and all that, might be wrong, but maybe we will see it at some point. Also this is Unreal 5 instead of 4, which isn't helping.

i agree with everything except the average mmr in ranked. this was a huge problem in siege because diamonds queued with silvers and just 1v5 the whole lobby
For me, I hate it when they removed mouse and keyboard support from console. I know a lot ppl would say get a pc. Man I'm a broke ass gamer. But seriously I left this game because of this and THE FINALS is truly a GREAT GAME.

They changed both ranked and the fcar last week which is pretty good, in my region not many people play ranked and you rarely can find matches. I like the idea of the orbital lasers activating faster, would be pretty powerful in powershift againt the other team that is on the platform.
I have a strange idea but what if they had a ranked mode with a multibuck buy-in feature could have the option of 100-1000 multibucks but winning team takes all. Would be something different but idk if this would break kid gambling laws 😂

No, I dont want the meta to shift too drastically. I use a super non-meta weapon, and like playing against the regular old hitscan rifles. And yes I agree with you, recon was absolute non-descript ailment, and the n*kes being removed was honestly the overall best gameplay change they did.
People were actively punished for using crosshairs in the beta. People had to wait weeks to be unbanned, or were banned for the entirety of the beta.
This is why the subject is so controversial. But in terms of the official game, no punishments. I did not play in any of the playtests so perhaps thats why I didnt understand all the noise at first. Just another reason Embark NEEDS to reclarify their position. Not sure if the TOS has changed but they simply arent punishing anymore. They obviously are aware of this and think it's better to not address it all. Maybe they think addressing it will encourage people to push limits and use actually game altering software? No clue. Wish they'd just be honest about it.
I actually wasn’t aware that ranked games went off the highest member of the party. I’m currently a plat 2 and play with my girlfriend who is a lowly silver and a good friend of mine who has been stuck within gold. That being said, when I play with them, we get absolute 💩’d on. However if I queue up solo, even without coms, we can make it to the finals almost every game. That definitely needs changing in my opinion as I’d love to be able to play ranked w my squad and actually have a fair + enjoyable experience. But despite this, I still love the hell outa the game!

my biggest issue is the fact that it feels like a arena shooter without the smooth movement it feels clunky.
Honestly the biggest issue for me is that solo queue is insufferable, cause everyone doesn't cooperate as a team. Otherwise everything I've done on the game has been fun as hell

i have been playing another game for the last week and half and was pleasantly surprised to hear about bomb defusal mode. i believe ranked needs a new ruleset at this point.
this game moves like titanfall and plays like bfbc2. the game balance can be either nerf the guns OR increase their weaknesses rather than decrease their damage, dice didn't balance that way tho
I really disagree with gamers needing 'new metas' because personally i feel guns should be tools you need to pick depending on the situation, and not just bring whatever. But, i can get behind buffing other weapons to make them more viable in more situations.
I find the game to be super fun I think my main issue as I have a lower end pc is that there is virtually no optimizations that work to bring the game to a stable and high fps, whereas other games in the competitive shooting genre run fine as I optimize them to run at around my monitors refresh rate. I have watched so many "FPS Guide" videos and none of them worked which kinda led to me losing interest. I had a blast during the open beta when the game ran super smoothly for me for some reason.
The beta ran better for a lot of users for some reason. The game definitely needs better optimization and performance. Totally with you there!
I would like to see a 5 v 5 CSGO/CS2 type game mode where one team guards and the other attacks to put the cash in the cashout. But instead of "defusing" the cashout you just steal it.
Also this would be on a smaller map.
As for competitive I think they need rewards for winning a tournament or gain a special currency the farther you get in the tournament, to purchase exclusive skins/gear.

I find it a bit funny that high ranked players have this myopic (and borderline selfish) view that adding more prestige to ranked is somehow going to increase the game's reach, when the majority of players are in low ranks and very likely most people play quick play anyway because of the variety offered in both game modes and meta. Ranked tournaments are much bigger commitment than single round quick cash, blank it, or even power shift. Either quick play needs balances like skill-based matchmaking, switching sides, and auto balancing, or more game modes need to be included in ranked.

They reduced the rounds per tourny to 3. Now the duration is prolly less than ur average valorant or cs match
[4:02] Only a third of the way through the video and I can agree with almost everything being said, but this will absolutely be abused and exploited. Queueing based on the highest rank is really the safest way to go about things.
If it's going to stay as is, then queuing with bronzes as a plat, I should not be queuing into Top 500 players. If I play people my rank or slightly above thats fine. But if the best player on your team is WAY worse than the worst player on an enemy team, then the matchmaker has simply failed. By all means put people in challenging brackets and asses them respectively. But when the enemies are multiple ranks ahead it's just too big of a gap, especially when it comes to grand finals 3v3 situations. Like If my team is P3, S3, B1. Im totally fine playing against a team of P1, P1, P2 or whatever. But queuing with silvers then going against Top500, D2, D3 is lowkey wild. I do think this system was intended to be temporary and safe until they perfect it. Thanks!!

To me the finals is a game i enjoy playing but the game is doing well to me but i don't see myself playing the game much after i finish the pass
Biggest reasons for me that this gsme is not going forward are: league progress is literally unknown, you cant message anyone in game to ask him does he want to play etc, you cant spectate games of friends, servers are horrendous getting disconnected became a normal thing, small number of maps, bundles are way too expensive and you cant buy single skin or item
Everything you listed has been added to the game in Season 2 except for spectator and text chat which have been confirmed to arrive w Season 3. You can buy single items in bundles and servers have improved dramatically! I recommend giving the game a another chance in Season 3. It's going to be vastly better than what we had Season 1! Usually TTK can seem unhealthy if your opponent has a heal beam pocketing them. I recommend bringing a glitch grenade on your team and giving it another try! Most weapons kill relatively fast! Thanks for the input!

I enjoyed this game in the first season as it was new and like you say I had plenty time off work to play it, but playing solo in this game is terrible. I'd be keen on giving this game another go with some team mates if anyone is interested. (Can't be arsed with another discord channel)

we’ve always known that embark is pretty secretive with their “master plan” for their games, but since the game has launched i’ve always wondered one thing: why don’t they just call the game early access like it clearly is?
like let’s all on the same page here, the game was basically shadow dropped, not marketed at all afterwards and then they didn’t drop any real updates on the game for like a month or two after launch. it really feels to me like they dropped an early access game to get further testing so they can turn it into the “top fps competitor” they want it to be. that’s why streamers aren’t getting paid to play it, that’s why they aren’t pushing ranked or competitive modes, that’s why the game only launched with 1 new map and some melee weapons lmao, etc. WE ARE THE PLAYTESTERS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE FINALS. if they were truly worried about player numbers they’d start marketing and crunching
I disagree with 2 points. Players matching with the highest rank on the team is a good thing. And the events are really stupid and should be removed in ranked.

I hard disagree on removing events from ranked. I won a semi final round on Skyway moving platforms because of low gravity!! Last alive as heavy and my random team didn't have much faith. I jumped into the stratosphere and slammed the poor guy on the moving platform with god like accuracy!!! Stole the cashout last second and won the semi finals! Ive never felt more accomplished lol. Pure dopamine
Yeah, you shouldn't be able to get two bots into your lobby just so you can beat up on other players. If you're queuing with someone better than you, then you could just be looking to get carried. Which will absolutely happen.
@@TantoAshina it takes away from the integrity of ranked mode. If you are different skill levels then you shouldn’t play ranked together. If skill levels are the same but ranks are different then it doesn’t matter. But if they take the average rank then you can boost people and ruin the fun for lower skill players. The players should be closest in skill level.
@@alicatdotcomEvents doesnt bother me that much except for low grav. Basically makes almost every jump pad a death sentence to step on and heavily penalize movement players like lights when jumping makes them easy targets
The only way you can say that embark is doing a good job with cheating is to compare them to someone doing worse at it right now. The cheating is absolutely a reason to stop playing and it's out of control in this game. I'm not sure how you haven't heard of people running into blatant cheaters every tournament for an entire night, because that has certainly happened. Especially since it's so common to get repeat opponents.
Cheating is the single biggest issue in this game and it's kinda insane that you would downplay it.
Skill Issue.
There's 2 issues with this claim. In the current game, there are no killcams and no replays. You have no way to validate how many cheaters you're actually running into. Also, aim assist can give off the impression of cheating and they often get conflated. I've done it myself Im not innocent. Im sorry to hear you've had a worse experience with cheating than me, but as stated in the video, crying about it doesnt help. Cheating is an AWFUL issue in every game it exists. One cheater is too many. But Embark knows this and has full time employees working tirelessly to improve anti-cheat. There's not really anything I can contribute. Thanks for the input!
@@GravityDrop the hackers can be really easy to spot in this game. They'll shoot you the moment you get line of sight to them even if you're far away and they have no way to know you're there. And then there are the ones who can shoot through shields. There's often no subtlety to it whatsoever.

What threw me off the most, was in all the betas and season 1 the ranked climb constisted of only time put into the game. Season 2 changed it to beeing more punishing, which i liked at first and it's what i wished for since the beginning. I have a ton of hours in the game and finding players, who suit yourplaystyle, fit your irl character AND play at a level, that matches yours has always been a hit or miss. Now here is the big issue that comes from these two things:
Hitting Diamond is no problem for the avg competitive player. Climbing to D3 seems like a minor challenge if you have the right players + time and effort.
This is where it becomes (for me in these words) inhumane and absolute toxic for mental health and relationships.
As soon as you reached the already time consuming goal of D3, climbing higher REQUIRES you to go on big winning streaks. You HAVE to win at least 7,8,9 matches IN A ROW to climb. I've seen countless instances, where i drop 150 leaderboard ranks from losing a single FINAL ROUND, while only getting 20-40 per win. The fact you have to have a perfect Team setup+get lucky you don't run into cheaters to achieve these winning streaks, makes it so freaking frustrating when u lose a single game. 1 loss requires another winstreak, when you break that winstreak you require another one. It's an endless cycle and the amount of perfection it requires in terms of gameplay is literally non human. At this point i've lost countless friends i made in the finals community, due to them not beeing able to keep up in skill (i know it can sound arrogant, but it's jut how it is) that is -perfection- in D2+ or by single mistakes, that cost the game due to us beeing human and not robots, resulting in arguments, ending up not playing together again. I like them as people, i enjoy playing casuals with them. But the ranked system in this game does not allow for the smallest mistakes. One death at the wrong time and you lose the entire game and EVERYTHING except WINNING the final round, loses you such an immense amount of points, that it's not fair to anyone.
You become so limited to the people you queue with and matching time where you can meet up is another topic. I started to only play with 2 fixed people, because with everyone else from any LFG server, i could only find 1 other person who i can consistently win every game with.
If the game would be more about "what round can you reach?" instead of "can you win the finals?" it would be way more humane and healthy.
It's literally like saying only the 1st place in a soccer tournament gets 1000 dollars. But everyone else who took part and didn't reach first place will have to pay 5000 dollars.
(before any comments about skill appear, i'm not the best player on earth but i loved this game from the first minute and i put 1500hrs into the game, adding all betas. I reached top 100 multiple times, stopped playing the game at D2 this season due to the things i mentioned. My friends who are D2 and D1 stopped playing for these reasons too.)
They really fucked up on not putting effort on eSports/private tournaments. I think it's a must on any competitive FPS games. Now it is too late since orgs will have no interest in investing on a game that significantly lost its hype.
You have a great point that I was trying to convey in the video. Embark does not have time on their side. But they didnt mess it up yet. They have a window to get private matches/tournaments going. The game is still relevant and clearly is generating excitement and revenue(as I showed towards the end of the video). So many orgs will be lining up ready to support tournaments once the game is ready for them, as long as it doesnt take too long. I trust Embark. They're cooking
Hopefully Nexon helps this game out. If season 3 doesn't bring massive changes and additions, I may just stop playing the game. Can't even que into ranked matches on console.
Season 3 is definitely vital to the game's success long term. If it doesnt launch with some of the features I mentioned, it wont bring anyone back unfortunately. But if they can add spectator, and an actual leaderboard with rewards, I think we'll see a MASSIVE increase in players and streamers! Fingers crossed man!🤞

Fine by me lol. Actively targeting someone without benefitting your team will just cost YOU more games, not them. This happens all the time with streamers in other games. They get targeted 24/7 so enemy teams dont play objective and lose. Secondly, if you are a VERY high rank, I expect you to be capable of defending your rank and taking advantage of such a strategy. If a couple people targeting you makes your entire team and strategy fail, then maybe you arent quite good enough for said rank. I want Top 500 to be the best of the best. By all means come target me😈
It isn’t overwatch, it isn’t apex, it isn’t cs go, it’s an arcade shooter. Rank changes won’t change anything with this game’s player base, that isn’t this game’s target audience wether intended or not. Since it is an arcade shooter it is competing with cod and battle field. That’s an uphill battle that they’ll never win. Enjoy the live servers while you can it won’t last.

The reason I left the game is that every game wants to have time limited progression and FOMO you can only play so many games! I don't have time for Finals the way it wants me to commit!
In the past, it's never really fruitful to focus on tournaments, especially when factoring in costs of the event itself. Casuals make up probably 80% of every community and likely spend more as well, so I would say focusing primarily on that and flushing out their world to make it more intriguing would make way more sense.
casuals definitely make up the majority of the playerbase. But there's a reason this game has 0 streamers and 0 big content creators. It's because there's nothing to grind for. And tournaments are extremely efficient when the community gets involved. Im telling you this game is super fun to play and watch. It doesnt need some massive budget to prop it up. The community and organizations will host their own tournaments once they're available and it WILL generate MASSIVE hype for the game. Thanks for the input!
I use the AKM almost every time over the FCAR b/c of the mag size and consistent stability and range, I hit headshots and can fight off a whole team alone. I shred with the MP-11 I thought that gun needs nerfing. I am not alone on that as well, I see the MP-11 being used at the same rate ( I’d argue more frequently ) as the scoped smg haha I forget the name b/c I don’t use it. I am gold 1 btw solo que

This game would've genuinely multitudes better on console. For a PC gamer this is something they've seen before, they're so loaded with fantastic creative games that nobody's seriously turning their heads for this, and even streamers that love this game cant play it because popularity is low. If this dropped on console, it would be never seen before creativity, a genre breaking console generation defining title. Sucks man, it really does. This game blows me away as somebody hard stuck on console gaming.

I try to play from 12am to 2am and I can’t find ranked matches with cross play turned off. (Cross play is just too competitive past 12 for console. Imo)
Grinded for diamond this season and made it but let me tell you i met a hacker every single game witch made every fight a third party, and dont even think about winning the finals. Might just be bad luck but i have never met so many cheaters in a row
People put way too much emphasis on ranked.
If you look at the achievemnets alone, only 22% of people have the finish a tournament achievement...

I personally stopped playing The Finals because they took away the free Halloween outfits I got in the beta. I knew they were taking away the cosmetics that cost money purchased for free in the beta but expected to be able to keep the free stuff, especially when it was limited

I just want more stuff to grind for, just like the limited time modes/variants (Showdown, Steal The Spotlight, etc) and more challenges and rewards for the career circuits. Because the game is really good I just want something to keep me occupied when I’m getting burnt out from playing just for the sake of it. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoy the game, I just want something to keep me coming back to play and get cool swag/rewards.

They nerfed everything except the light class. That's why I left the game. I don't enjoy being insta-stunned and one clipped because I the game won't let me aim. Spawn, get stunned by invisible player, one clipped, again.

The game is not dead, but is not in a particulary good state right now. Embark needs to put a lot of effort into it to make it popular.
Also, could you check 1 thing? If you place mines on the edges of a doorway, they should be near invisible to anyone passing there (if place correctly). But can you counter these mines at all?
Yes, avoid obvious routes. Use the railings not the full stairway.
