I cannot overstate my love for BotW. However what SMO did for me I didn't think possible: I felt like a kid again experiencing gaming's greatest moments for the first time. Both games feel monumental but the joy Odyssey brings is untouchable.
100% agree, I got SMO back in 2020 and was able to submerse myself in the game and just forget about the pandemic. I haven't felt so submersed in a game like this since I was a kid. Its not a complicated game or world, its just very fun.
Botw blows tbh I’ve tried getting into it on 3 separate occasions. Story lackluster, combat way too easy (especially bosses ), exploration is void and bland, no epic music (like Skyrim), dungeons (shrines ) are boring and all are similar with little to no reward. Only cool thing about botw is the graphics but everything else lackluster and does not live up to previous Zelda games
I hope they do bring it out i started playing Mario odyssey in 2019 I’m still going back to it trying to get every moon and outfit and just every thing in the game
I preferred BOTW in part because it was exactly what I needed at the time I played it. I was not just quarantined, I was quarantined in a foreign country in a profession that allowed for a lot of uninterrupted downtime, and I needed an open world that I could get lost in that felt magical. BOTW filled that hole like a Sheikah heirloom in a shrine pedestal. That being said, my girlfriend, whose only experience with video games used to be Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, became absolutely obsessed with Super Mario Odyssey to the point that she would cancel plans if she was stuck on a power moon. So I've got love for both, and although I personally prefer BOTW, a part of me appreciates Odyssey more because now my girlfriend can't get on my case about getting sucked into a video game.
I beat the main story with about 400 moons. Now my son is 6 years old and he started playing my file and has about 900 moons! The game is still incredible and a lot of fun ❤️
I started playing this game in 2019 i got it with my switch and I’m still going back to it got 56 moons to get love this game one of the best of all time on any console in my opinion
Mario Odyssey is one giant love letter to old collectathon games but especially Mario 64. It contains references to all sorts of Nintendo media both retro and new. It's an amazing experience.
I'm a fairly new Switch owner as I just bought one 4 months ago. The first two games I bought for the system happened to be Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. I bought BOTW when I bought the system and I bought Odyssey a few months later. I thought both were fantastic games. Whichever one you like better largely comes down to which type of game you prefer. For me, it was BOTW that I liked better between the two, but that is just because I prefer adventure games over platformer games. Also, I was done with Odyssey in about 1/10th of the time it took me to beat BOTW. But, I must admit, I have yet to do the post-game stuff in Odyssey whereas in BOTW, I did do all the shrines and side quests before I defeated Ganon.
Probably the worst way to fight Ganon since you become so overpowered if you do everything before lol but yeah if you really like Zelda combat you should try Dark Souls remastered on switch. I've put in twice the amount of hours on that than I did BOTW
@@steamedyam Zelda and monster hunter are my favorite game franchises. dark souls remastered was good but I'm pissed becuase I did everything solo but I didnt know there was a second hydra.
metroid dread is actually my favourite switch game. second place i would probably give to mario, although it is very close with BOTW to the point where sometimes i doubt whether i do like it more or not
@@AreYouDeadYet Many major gaming media outlets scored dread 8/10 or 4/5 etc. While many scored Botw and Odyssey 10/10 etc. I could also point to the sales numbers, Dread is severely behind Odyssey and Botw when it comes to sales.
I think both games are incredibly successful at what they want to convey. Most of us have heard the story about Miyamoto exploring the caves and forests of Japan as a kid and how those experiences shaped his idea of what he wanted Zelda to look and feel like, and you can tell that with BotW, he was finally able to completely nail that original vision…but I think you could easily say the same thing about Super Mario Odyssey, in the sense that it finally perfected Mario in a 3D space, even more so than Super Mario Galaxy did. I dunno man. Very tough choice for me. And when these games were released just a few months apart, I was stunned. 2017 was an unbelievable year for Nintendo fans.
Mario Odyssey is by far my favourite game on the Switch. It’s the reason I bought the Switch in the first place! Whenever I think back to the N64 the nostalgia does make me a bit emotional in a good way of course. I get that same nostalgic feeling when thinking back to playing Mario Odyssey for the first time.
Zelda botw is my favorite game on switch. So good man. Started loving the game once I got to Sidon and going in the divine beast. Played over 200 hours and even 100% with all the korok seeds and armor fully upgraded + all sidequests finished. No open world game has reached the feeling I had with botw ever since.
I'll break this down in a different way. Mario Odyssey definitely sits at #1 overall for me. The game play is fun and never overly frustrating, the 8 bit sections were a great nod to the past and the creativity was top notch. But a lot of what pushed Odyssey over the top for you Shawn, was the nostalgia factor in my opinion. Recreating feelings you got when playing Mario 64 etc... If we're going that route in determining favorite game on the Switch, I have a handful. But My #1 would have to be Sonic Mania. playing that game on a switch, I can't tell you how many times I actually had the thought, you know? I feel like I'm playing Sonic on a new version of a Game Gear. Plus everything Christian Whitehead did to make that game feel so much like an extension of the first 4 games it pulls from is just incredible. TMNT Shredder's Revenge also gets a huge nod in this category. That game took me right back to Pepi's pizza and arcade as a kid just shoving quarters into that game over and over again... Sonic and TMNT might not be as long as Mario Odyssey, but they left me with just as many memorable moments and lasting appreciation for what we were given by the developers of those games.
As someone who firs thad their mind blown by “Legend of Zelda” in 1987 at age 6, I have to say that “BOTW” is the game that MOST captures the original’s feeling. In the original “Legend of Zelda”, you could go anywhere (pretty much) and do anything you had the ability to do. You can even technically take some of the labyrinths out of order! It was open world and “Skyrim” before “Skyrim”!
Totally agree. Though, I have to also agree with RGT’s point about leaving behind traditional dungeon designs. BotW is still my top pick for best Switch game, but I really would like traditional labyrinth style dungeons to make a return in BotW 2.
This would literally be my comment word-for-word. I was 5 when the original LoZ for NES released and my older brother picked it up. And yes, no other entry in the series quite captured that sandbox freedom of the original like BoTw did. Many kept saying this is "new" Zelda, but this was them going back to their roots as Aonuma-san stated when they gave us that first unveiling back in 2014.
Man I love BOTW but I might have to agree with you. I found BOTW to be overwhelming at times and a chore to get through when trying to find secrets. However Mario Odyssey was always fun and a good time trying to find secrets or get to new areas. That feeling you had with Mario 64 was the same I had. Seeing the first Mario 3d game as a kid was magical. Odyssey hit me the same way many times.
I've never once felt the need or desire to replay odyssey....it was a disappointing experience which lacked good Mario world design and felt disjointed. Sorely lacked magic and ambition.
Breath of the wild was a masterpiece of bridging the three timelines, and there was something you could find around every corner it was korok seeds, beautiful scenery, and the ruins of something in another game everything was an Easter egg.
While I love Super Mario Odyssey through its beautiful visuals and great platforming it's really not that challenging, I prefer Super Mario Galaxy as it's a little more challenging plus I love the overall tone of it, I've been playing Super Mario Galaxy a lot recently and am hoping for the 2nd one to come to the Switch, as it took everything great about the original and made it much more engaging with it's platforming and playing with Yoshi which was super fun.
@@undergroundhiphopfan6335 Galaxy 2 holds a special place in my heart, but I must admit that I see the game as an excellent Mario game, but 75% of an excellent Mario Galaxy game.
My favorite switch games are Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Galaxy! I NEVER get tired of playing these games because they are fun, cute and challenging in their own way ✌🏾😊✌🏾!
I definitely agree. Odyssey is a damn masterpiece and made me fall back in love with video games. Truly an era defining game. BOTW is a masterpiece too so I can’t be mad at someone who says BOTW is the best Switch game. Both games are 10/10 games
Mario Odyssey is in my top 5 . What an amazing game. BOTW was awesome maybe my favorite adult gaming experience but Odyssey is more fun and worth replaying whereas BOTW once was enough . Mario Odyssey gives you that wonderful familiar feeling I had since I held down on the white box for the first time in Mario 3 dropped down went behind the black wall and got the whistle . That’s all we really want
I like Mario Odyssey a lot, but the exploration and sense of discovery in BotW makes it a far superior experience for me. Odyssey for me lacked something akin to the Castle of Mario 64 filled with secrets, Odyssey felt more like a bunch of disconnected areas filled with far too many moons.
100% agree. Every time I play the game, I just feel like the world is too bloated. And there’s hardly any challenge to collecting moons to the point where it feels insulting. I don’t want the game to hold my hand the whole time, isn’t assist mode enough? With the way the levels are spread out, it makes it one of the easiest games in the series.
Botw is best. I just can't ever get over how breathtaking the whole expansive world is and how much fun it continues to be to explore. Mario is a close second though. Love that game too.
Super Mario Odyssey was amazing I enjoyed every moment as I got that similar great feeling when I first played Super Mario 64 back in the day. I can't wait to see what Nintendo does with the next 3D Super Mario game.
Odyssee is a must have and one of my favorites! Can’t understand the hate of so many moons tho. It’s just that you have something to look for after beating the story and some are hard to find. It’s always something with these complains, just love the game for what it is
The main problem is not the amount of moons. The problem is that, not many, but, the MAYORITY of the moons are easy cheap repetitions among every Kingdom, but with small itterations. So the sense of gratification at the beggining of the game slowly becomes a sense of boredom toward the end of the game. Apart from what I said, many of the moons are just laying there floating waiting for you to grab them, no challenge at all. Some moon you just need buy them... literrally, you pay to win!!!
@@HombreDufff Well, if you put it that way I can understand it more. Most of the moons are easy to get, but it doesn’t kill the fun for me tho. I always play back2back with my girlfriend and we switch controllers when one of us found a moon!
At least it's not as bad as Sunshine having reputation. Especially with all the Red Coins again, more obstacle levels ( Though I do like some of them. But the rest like the first one in Sirena Beach & the Chuckster one in Pianta Village can go die in an fire ) or chasing Shadow Mario for the 7th time. And there all mandatory to progress. U can't skip them. And most of them are obnoxious and makes it the most tedious Mario game to complete.
@@jaretco6423 aesthetically, Sunshine is very appealing, colorful, beatiful game. Gameplay wise is also a lot of fun. Now, there are like only 6 worlds, game is too short. Some Shines are tedious to get, like Ink Mario, and the plataform levels, or like the big sand bird one, or the pinball machine one... The blue coins vary not according to the world youre at, but to the shine level, so its horrible haha
@@HombreDufff I mean. I can agree in terms of the aesthetics, it does look great. Still looks gorgeous to this day. Gameplay wise though? Not so much. It's an downgrade from Mario 64 IMO. And there's 7 worlds. Not 6.
I always thought Odyssey was cool and fun but it didn’t compel me to keep coming back for whatever reason the way BotW did. I never finished it despite the joy I had when playing it. I’ve been watching my daughter playing both lately and we have been playing them together, figuring out puzzles challenges etc. Odyssey definitely has been given renewed life and just watching it unfold has been cool BUT I have also seen her discover areas and temples in BotW that I never found in my 120 hours with the game and that is fantastic as well. Both are amazing titles and I lean more towards adventures like Zelda over so it is probably still my #1 but I have been reminded what a clever and joyous experience Odyssey is as well.
BOTW peaked my interest in getting a Switch. I saw all the reviews that it was the best game in the series for some people (a statement I agree with) but at the time I had no intention of getting a whole new system for one game. But then I saw SMO's gameplay, and everything changed. THAT was the game I needed to buy a Switch for. I ended up getting both around the same time, and while I love BOTW, I absolutely adore SMO. It's a perfect mix of nostalgia and game-changing mechanics that brought me back to my childhood while also making me excited for the future of the franchise. Between the two games, Mario and Cappy win. That being said, my favorite Switch game is ACNH. Damn you Nintendo for stopping support after less than two years while also continuing to bring me back after 700 hours of gameplay.
Totally agree. Mario Odyssey felt like Mario 64 on steroids, whereas Breath of the Wild just felt like an entirely different animal. Plus, I didn’t feel any disappointment or annoyances with Odyssey, whereas Breath of the Wild felt annoying and underwhelming at times (especially with the bosses, ending, weapon degradation, lack of dungeons, etc). And I’m a guy that actually likes Zelda games a tad bit more than Mario. In short, I felt like Odyssey stayed true to the series and what mario games are all about, whereas Breath of the Wild just strayed off the path and lost some of it’s Zelda identity.
Zelda is my favorite series, but I truly don't know why people talk about BOTW like it's the greatest game ever created. If you don't mind me asking, what is it specifically about BOTW that makes it so important to you?
@@DanielZeal I won't say it's the most important. But the freedom and activities in the game are way more exciting and fulfilling than anything in Mario odyssey. At least imo.
You know back in 2017, I honestly thought the same way, I actually voted for Odyssey over botw that the game awards but upon reflection with more time passed, I feel a bit more on the fence about it all. Not because I feel like Mario wasn't as good as I thought, but because I don't think I fully appreciated. What botw brought the table.
My sons were 1 and 2 when Odyssey was released. I loved the game while my newborns were keeping me awake and I learned to be a father. Fast forward to 2020 AMD's they beat their first Mario worlds on NES. My sons are now 6 and 7 years old and started on Odyssey 3 months ago. A few days ago they beat Odyssey! This weekend they both started new saves... #FansForLife Odyssey IS the Mario 64 of the new generation.
Both are great games but I think The Witcher 3 complete with the Dlc all on the cartridge is my pick. Not only is it a great game but they actually didn't cheap out and they put it all on a big cartridge, something no other companies do with a game that size. Just my thoughts.
Too much dialogue, could never get fully into it. Put 30 hours into it over several years and feel like I'm getting nowhere honestly feels like an assassin Creed clone without the parkour, so much bloat.
@@steamedyam I didn't like it at first either, put it away for a year or so, thought I would give it another shot. Turned out to be one of my favorite games. You can easily put well over 100 hours into it, especially with the dlc. Just have to get past a certain point and it opens up for you to go at it whatever way you want. I thought I was going to hate Red Dead redemption 2 because of chapter 1, I figured the whole game is going to be like that but if I would have given up I wouldn't have found out how great of a game that is. The Witcher 3 just takes a little bit more time before it gives you the reins completely.
I mean it’s not a surprise why people would prefer botw What botw did for the Zelda franchise is way more massive while Mario odyssey is a follow up to sunshine or 64 but you could argue 64 did it better with a great hub world with secret level to search for in every corner Odyssey was great but my issue with it is that a lot of kingdom were really small and sometimes underwhelming with maybe only 2-3 really memorable big ambitious kindgoms
Couldn’t agree more. As praised as it is, I still feel like Odyssey is under appreciated. I still can hardly believe modern Nintendo delivered such a masterpiece.
@@traviscunningham7062 Yeah I guess so. Interesting point, hadn't really thought of it that way, but for a lot of people, that's probably exactly right.
Breath of the wild won game of the year for a good reason in my opinion, It was new, fresh, and ambitious while telling an amazing story while giving you freedom to approach the game how you wanted after the introduction to the world....Super Mario Odyssey is a relatively straight forward Mario game/collectathon that does it to near perfection but nothing has been reinvented.....breath of the wild was a fresh breath air...while Odyssey was a return to glory...both are amazing but only breath of the wild could've beaten horizon zero dawn Imo
I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. That said, I think an objective argument might be possible that BoTW is the better game just in terms of sheer content and variety in what the player can do. The world feels absolutely huge, and years later, much like in Skyrim, players are still discovering new secrets, ways to play, etc. The physics system combined with all the different elemental attacks combine to give players a lot of freedom in how they approach combat, how they traverse the world, etc. It also feels like it has more breadth in terms of intensity levels than Mario. What I mean is that you can completely chill, explore, gather resources, and avoid combat if you want, and you can do that for hundreds of hours. Or you can focus on finding and perfecting new ways to fight enemies. Or any mix of those things. With Mario, sure, you have the moons to find, but I feel forced into combat a bit more, and thus find it to be a bit less "chill" than what I usually want when I'm going for a more relaxed gaming session. That said, I am not your typical Mario/Zelda fan. I loved Ocarina of Time (the original and the remakes), and equally adored Mario 64, but I couldn't get into any of the Mario or Zelda games after those titles, however much I tried. Similarly, I struggle to get hooked for longer than a few days at a time with Odyssey. Breath of the Wild, however, sank its claws deep into me, and even after beating the game and putting it down for quite awhile, I recently picked it back up to start a second playthrough from scratch. I'll never do that with Odyssey - heck, I'll probably never finish it at all. That's not to say Odyssey is a bad game. I actually think it's the best Mario game since Ocarina. It just doesn't provide enough variety and story to hook me the way BoTW does. But as I said at the start, I really think it comes down to personal taste more than anything else. Both are great games. Both are "must haves" for any Switch owner. It just so happens that my personal preference leans more towards BoTW, while others may prefer Odyssey. And that's okay.
I played Breath of the wild once and had over 100 hours in it but Mario Odyssey I have played it twice and probably will go and play it a few more times, the game isn't even that old but Nintendo made it feel so nostalgic and I really really hope they make a second odyssey because God damn I love that game.
You make some compelling arguments, and I LOVE Mario Odyssey, but BOTW is arguably my all time favorite game, so there’s no changing my mind on this one😂
The Switch didn’t get any of my attention until I saw SMO. Born in 1980 Mario is a nostalgic character for me, always has been and always will be. As soon as I knew SMO existed I got a Switch! Definitely one of my favorite games!
Good morning/evening young crowd 🤘💜 I absolutely love Mario Odyssey repurchased it during the recent digital sale. Ending up going through it again and still is my favorite switch game.
Super mario odyssey is definitely one of the best games one the switch and one of the greatest game of all time. I would also make a case of luigi's mansion 3 being the best game on the switch as well.
Not sure it is. The most fun maybe but BotW has so much more depth. Odyssey probably has more replay value though. Now I’ve completed BotW I probably won’t go back to it for a few years and more likely to dip into Mario again soon.
I’m on the fence right now about a switch. I haven’t played an Nintendo game since the 64. I like games where I can explore and do whatever I want in whatever order. I think BOTW and odyssey would be right up my alley but I’m still not sure. Any help would be appreciated
I think you have a valid argument, but as a lifelong Zelda fan, I’ll always pick Zelda over Mario. Odyssey is a great game tho and should get all the love. I’m just never wait in anticipation for a Mario game, like a Zelda game. I’m bias tho
I love that video. Mario Odyssey is truly an amazing experience, and I totally agree with almost all of your points. But just looking at the sunset in breath of the wild, seeing this world makes it the better game, at least for me.
After watching this I feel ashamed that I’ve only played like the first hour of Super Mario Odyssey. Really enjoyed it.Just caught up with too many games. But I will get back to it
I’ll say it’s the best exclusive, if BotW wasn’t on Wii U it definitely would be the best for me anyway, I have 700+ hours in BotW across all platforms and have 200 hours in Odyssey so as much as I love Odyssey, it’s pretty clear which one I like more
I'm glad you like Super Mario Odyssey as your favorite Nintendo Switch game and also how a lot of people like Zelda Breath of the Wild which are both great games! IMO Metroid Dread is my favorite and best game on the Nintendo switch which I would say holds as the most appreciated game due to having the most drought/history of waiting for a sequel which made the game even more special and worth the wait which other games can't give you that same long lasting feeling or experience!
The only real big delay this year was Starfield. We still got Elden Ring, Horizon, Pokemon, Kirby, GT7. GOW and MW2 for the holiday. PS Plus revamp finally rolling out. Microsoft acquiring Activision. N64 coming to switch online. Steam Deck releasing. To me it has been not a boring year at all for gaming.
Don’t agree, as I don’t think it is even the best 3D mario game on switch at this point (best one for me is Galaxy). Odyssey was fun but I would have rated it at about 7.5-8.0 after playing it upon release. It looked nice and polished, but I thought played it too safe compared to the original formula set with 64 (if I recall, it was also praised for this, to each his own). I just think that original formula is not compelling enough for me at this point.
I agree. As much as I enjoy Odyssey, I prefer the Galaxy games and even 3D World more. If the levels, challenge & platforming designs would've been tweak up an bit, not oberbloayed with Power Moon and the postgame could've been expanded better, than I would've like it more or least be on par with the Galaxy games & 3D World. And yeah. Mario 64 was praised because it is the first 3D game ever made after all.
Breath of the Wild for me. Mario Odyssey is excellent, the best 3d platformer game I've ever played, but that's just the "problem", it's a platformer, and I enjoy action adventure/rpg games way more than platformers.
Super Mario Odyssey is the best switch game. I’ve replayed it so many times and it never gets old. It’s the main reason why I got a switch in the first place. I hope for a sequel.
It's like comparing oranges to apples: BotW and Odyssey are two totally different beasts. Odyssey can be enjoyed in short bursts, has a high pick up and play value and doesn't require any time to be invested in the game before you can enjoy it. BotW is an experience, but is very slow paced in the beginning and the real enjoyment is exploring the huge world of Hyrule. After spending dozens of hours the ending was a bit of a letdown as I started to get bored. Many people are saying Odyssey has a lot of freedom, but it's actually a lot more linear than people tend to believe. In each kingdom you're stuck to a certain mission structure and there's certainly room to explore next to these missions, but the missions need to be completed in order to unlock all the parts of a kingdom. Compare that to BotW where once you complete the Great Plateau you can basically go anywhere and do anything. But I certainly understand that people prefer Odyssey over BotW as it's much easier to pick up and gives the player very stable gameplay enjoyment while BotW works more with lows and heights.
I totally agree. I loved both odyssey and BOTW but odyssey is definitely a lot more memorable! To be honest I remember more of Ocarina of time than BOTW and it's probably been ten years longer since I played Ocarina of Time last.
I think the main point is that the switch is incredible and both Mario Odyssey and and Breath of the Wild are incredible. I think it's really a matter of apples and oranges. They're different styles of game and both some of the absolute best to ever be made. I'm of the "Odyssey is the best 3d mario and BOTW is the best 3d zelda" camp so it's no surprise to me someone would like Odyssey the most on the switch.
I think BOTW is one of the greatest games of all time. Odyssey was well done, but I didn’t feel it was on the level of Zelda. My one issue with BOTW is that they could’ve done a better job cinematically with cutscenes. It’s exploration & physics helped it unseat Half Life 2 to me. Mario Odyssey had some great moments, but I didn’t get the same level of enjoyment from it.
I don't know why I just felt like talking about this. lol.
It's a masterpiece, why not?
It's very interesting too.
I agree with you though the best game for sure

I dunno man. Very tough choice for me. And when these games were released just a few months apart, I was stunned. 2017 was an unbelievable year for Nintendo fans.
I need to replay this. The game was awesome.
There should be a sequel.
BOTW is a Wii U game ported to Switch
I have botw for the wii u. I never tried the switch version
Play Red Dead 2, Witcher 3, Ghost of Tsushima or Assassin's Creed Origins
BOTW? Idk I played for little bit didn’t really like it but can’t complain much sinc was just a spin off.
I didn’t really like botw i don’t know why i feel it’s overrated Mario odyssey is just more run to me
I loved this game so much when I played it, it was the reason I wanted a Switch in the first place! Odyssey is still my all time favorite Switch game
100% agree with you. Odyssey was so much fun from gameplay, music and fun factor. The jump up superstar is on my playlist
Mario Odyssey arguably has more replay value than any other game on the platform and going for 100% is so satisfying
I've never once felt the need or desire to replay odyssey....it was a disappointing experience which lacked good Mario world design and felt disjointed. Sorely lacked magic and ambition.
Only world I particularly liked was bowsers castle approach
@@micabryant4513 oh boy or you didn't play the game enough or your standards are too high
@@micabryant4513 I didn't know an opinion could be wrong until this comment
There is no challenge in the game why would I replay it?
When I get bored of a switch game, I always go back to Odyssey
Breath of the wild was a masterpiece of bridging the three timelines, and there was something you could find around every corner it was korok seeds, beautiful scenery, and the ruins of something in another game everything was an Easter egg.
BotW didnt bridge any timelines. It made a new one and made the old ones more akin to reading The Illiad or Le Morte Darthur.
Botw will probably forever be my favorite game of all time! Mario odyssey was amazing too!
Botw2: you sure about that?
@@Amexy-mr6lw As a long time Zelda fan, I hope BOTW2 is the game I've been waiting for.
@@Amexy-mr6lw Let's hope!!
I got botw i wasn’t really that into it and i put so many hours into it Mario odyssey was just more fun for me
While I love Super Mario Odyssey through its beautiful visuals and great platforming it's really not that challenging, I prefer Super Mario Galaxy as it's a little more challenging plus I love the overall tone of it, I've been playing Super Mario Galaxy a lot recently and am hoping for the 2nd one to come to the Switch, as it took everything great about the original and made it much more engaging with it's platforming and playing with Yoshi which was super fun.
@aku cinta Kamu,,,💧 GO AWAY AND LEAVE HIM ALONE
To me, Galaxy was superior to its sequel. Sequel was great, but basically glorified dlc with less charm.
@@undergroundhiphopfan6335 Galaxy 2 holds a special place in my heart, but I must admit that I see the game as an excellent Mario game, but 75% of an excellent Mario Galaxy game.

Came back to playing this game with my son now that he's old enough. The game is almost a masterpiece! Such an amazing game!!
Watching Mario 64 in front of the N64 kiosque at Toys r Us… we will never feel that ever again in our gamer life.
One of my favorite memories as a child.
Mario Odyssey was a One and Done game for me. Didn’t like having to shake the joycon/controller and didn’t like the unrewarding moons.
My favorite switch games are Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Galaxy! I NEVER get tired of playing these games because they are fun, cute and challenging in their own way ✌🏾😊✌🏾!
Can I ask you do you have to play Luigi’s Mansion 1 or 2 to enjoy part 3 or can I go into 3 without knowing the story?

I agree, Odyssey rocks, I wish they'd come out with a part 2.
What timeline are you on?
@@IISuzakuII don't get the question....
BOTW2? Are you in the future?
@@KingRoturix lol, my Bad. I guess my subconsious played a trick on me. XD
Agree. Odyssey is an easy 10/10 game. The movement is just so smooth and perfect.
It’s phenomenal but I’d rather have BotW if I washed ashore on a desert island with only one switch game.
*Cringe*

I used to watch ur videos like 5 years ago i missed that voice and glad ur still uploadin
The visuals alone and Mario Odyssey I've never seen in any video game still to this day
Both are great games but I think The Witcher 3 complete with the Dlc all on the cartridge is my pick.

Maybe not a part 2 but their next game is for sure gonna take inspiration from bowser's fury and mario odyssey

What botw did for the Zelda franchise is way more massive while Mario odyssey is a follow up to sunshine or 64 but you could argue 64 did it better with a great hub world with secret level to search for in every corner
Odyssey was great but my issue with it is that a lot of kingdom were really small and sometimes underwhelming with maybe only 2-3 really memorable big ambitious kindgoms
Couldn’t agree more.
As praised as it is, I still feel like Odyssey is under appreciated. I still can hardly believe modern Nintendo delivered such a masterpiece.
Agreed. It’s overshadowed by the Galaxy games.

I agree . I’m playing this right now. I still can’t find all the moons. I must catch them all like Pokémon. Lol wish me luck.

It has a lot of Sunshine's DNA which is great

Super mario odyssey is definitely one of the best games one the switch and one of the greatest game of all time. I would also make a case of luigi's mansion 3 being the best game on the switch as well.
Not sure it is. The most fun maybe but BotW has so much more depth. Odyssey probably has more replay value though. Now I’ve completed BotW I probably won’t go back to it for a few years and more likely to dip into Mario again soon.
Breath of the Wild is technically a Wii U game, and where I dove into it, so I think Oddyssey ranks higher for me for Switch.

I still can't believe they never put more worlds to explore through DLC. Totally missed opportunity
This is was a huge reason I got the Switch.
Fe 3 houses is probably my favorite switch game. So much replay value, fun gameplay and great story
I finally pulled the trigger and got a switch couple of weeks ego. Mario Odyssee is such a joy to play
@aku cinta Kamu,,,💧 GO AWAY
You wanna know the truth.. I played and beat both odyssey and Botw.. sure they were great games but to me the number one game is Luigi Mansion 3
Breath of the Wild for me. Mario Odyssey is excellent, the best 3d platformer game I've ever played, but that's just the "problem", it's a platformer, and I enjoy action adventure/rpg games way more than platformers.
I like botw more but odyssey is a solid #2. Both really really great games
Cappy nulls any possibility of Odyssey being superior.
Same man I love this game, Breath of the Wild is fantastic but I just love a really good platformer.
Botw was one of my first open world games so maybe thats why i didnt find it to be excellent
Breath Of The Wild is soo stale
That's because Ocarina is a far superior LOZ game. I liked BOTW but it's not a zelda game. It's an open world zelda themed game.
Both are great, both are held back by hardware limitations. Neither can compare with the likes of red dead redemptions 2 or elden ring.
Yeah tbh both are phenomenal games and I think they are both the poster-games for the switcu
Well I'm convinced! Game looks like exactly what I'm looking for.
