On the topic of the achievements... I wasnt too impressed with them, considering you will get them all just by going for 100% anyway. I don't ever recall actually ever looking at an objective from Toadette, and specifically going out my way to do them. I just got them without realizing. So it literally did not change the experience at all for me since I was already aiming to finish every kingdom 100%.
TheLonelyGoomba I guess that those achievements aren't really supposed to have an effect in completionists like you and me, they are supposed to encourage players that aren't completionists to play more of the game, and to me that is a really nice thing.
Well, you're mostly right, but I wouldn't normally want to consider buying all the costumes to be part of completion. I wasn't so happy when I had to grind for coins just to buy a few costumes I'd never wear.

I know that feels... I should have had the Switch back in August, but I was deceived by a swindler and now I don't know when I'll have another opportunity to purchase one, alongside all these great games.
I've never heard anyone talk about dance dance revolution mario mix, i had it and it was the shit, i really liked when you had a dance off with waluigi
I love the end stuff it kept the game alive for 3 times longer than it took me to beat the game, I beat the game with 400 Moons on Launch day! Then it took me 2 other days to 100% the game.
I just finished Odyssey and it Took me so long To finished the darker side of the moon. I was so happy when I did tho. I love Odyssey and its challenges. And yeah getting like 20 moons from Toadatte is so cool🔥👌🏾
While the idea of achievements/goals was good, the implementation was pretty poor. Not only do you just naturally get them, but it takes forever to actually collect them. I sat there for over 10 minutes just mashing A, waiting for Toadette to stopping telling me I'd "gotten another achievement". I would have preferred challenges rather than achievements. Some you could get for free, but most would be something else, like doing a challenge without using the capture. Of course, if you get a bunch at once, there should be a condensed notification for it.
I think what should've happened is she tells you what Moons you've earned, play the Got Moon animation once, and all of a sudden tons of moon icons appear on the screen. The achievements idea was cool, but sitting there repetitively talking to Toadette and watching Mario collect a Moon was awful.
what you describe is exactly what "good" achievements should be. Out of the way challenges. Not super hard, not tedious. Arlo got this wrong in my opinion, the mindless achievements are worth nothing for any game out there.
I do like Mario Odyssey a lot, but I feel like the long, long path to getting every moon in the game is beyond tedious. Perhaps it's just me, but by the time I finished 100%ting New Donk City, I was so burned out and bored with Odyssey that I haven't played it for months. When you're scouring each kingdom for moons, it feels less like you're playing the game for a purpose and more like you're playing a grinding simulator (don't read too much into that). I'm also probably the only one who thought the game was better before the ending fight with Bowser. Then, in each kingdom, I felt like there was a reason to collect moons. I needed to power up the odyssey so I could chase after Bowser and save Peach. After that's done though, you just....kind of continue collecting moons because you want to. There's no reason to do so besides the fact that game wants you to. This is not me hating on Odyssey. I do like this game a lot. It's a fantastic game, and I'm grateful to Nintendo for putting so much effort in. But I simply found the endgame dull. I don't speak for anyone but myself. If you agree with anything I said, please respond below, beacuse I haven't met anyone else who agrees with me lol.
Honestly for me the funniest part wasn't to collect a moon in itself. The funniest part of finishing the game at 100% was that big treasure hunt with the paintings on the dark side of the moon or the little funny challenges that you've missed. That feeling of finding a moon is better with what i've done to have it, because yeah the moons are worthless after the darker side passed, but that's how i've get that moon that was interesting :) exactly like collecting strawberries in Celeste, it isn't useful but it's still funny. And that's why i don't understand critics that doesn't like this, because well yeah at the beginning of the game there is a lot of easy moons, but when you finish the story well they aren't that easy to get. But hey that's my opinion, and i respect yours even if i don't see how it's dull. ^^
I agree with you dude. When you have 880 moons you have to buy them to reach the 999 moons, and for that you should have like 9999 coins to spend. And after all what's your reward? A freaking hat for peach's castle!! Wow Nintendo you couldn't have given me a better reward😍. Nah, seriously, I would like to be rewarded with an extra level or something like that, not a freaking hat
Maybe I'm insane, but I wanted more. Specifically, something between Mushroom Kingdom and Dark Side. The difficulty spike there was insane, most of the bosses in the Mushroom Kingdom were as difficult as the FIRST Broodal.
I love the amount of stuff in the endgame, but I just found the stuff in the dark and darker side of the moon to be just annoying rather than fairly challenging. Everything else about the game is fantastic though, except the jumproping, fuck that.
I´m with you. The Mushroom Kingdom was great... and then we had the two moon variations. I hate the moon kingdoms, which is a shame because I adore the rest of the game. I think having a Mushroom, Delfino, and Galaxy kingdom for the endgame would have been better.
Wilfred Cthulu just alternate between B and A quickly when it gets to top speed. If you think the Jump Ropeing is bad, the 💯 spikes in the volleyball minigame is particularly annoying to me since it requires me to be faster than Mario usually is... Trying to get the moon with the 2 player mode is your best bet, at least in my opinion.
@@lugyd1xdone195 lol, that reminds me, i was going through my old games and in a wii play case i found shrek 2 totally unscratched and perfect. (as always)
I just got back odyssey after lending it to a friend for over two years. I have nearly 500 moons on my main account but instead of continuing that save file I decided to restart the game on a second account and will try to beat it before All stars 3D comes out. This game is just so amazing!!
If you didn't know yet you can create 5 save files in one account, if you want to go back to an old save file just press options, data management, load, and select whatever you want! Just an fyi
"Up next on UA-cam, Joesph Anderson's 2 hour long video essay about all the bad moons in Mario Odyssey!" Bit of an odd choice there, UA-cam. To be clear on my opinion, I'm in the middle of these two viewpoints. I did get everything in Odyssey and enjoyed it 90% of the time, but I must admit that a lot of the moons are pretty filler. My favourite ones were always when I got some cool new platforming challenge to do, not so much the ones where I just pound the ground or something.
I honestly never thought the post game content of Super Mario Odyssey would be so... Amazing. The fact that the moon rock breathe a bit more longevity into each kingdom as well the two bonus moon areas after Mushroom Kingdom pretty much makes the game harder to put down! Plus the addition of achieving feats results in more moons from Toadette is the most exciting thing of all! Oh, and the Mushroom Kingdom? I love how it is depicted in this game! None of that New Super Mario Bros stuff, just pure rolling grassy hills in the background!
I saw this video, I had not seen it yet, and I was like, "Oh boy, new Arlo stuff! _...Endgame!?_ Aw, man, I don't even have a switch yet, forget having beaten Odyssey already, and I don't want spoilers..." ...I watched the video anyway, and I hate myself and love the video at the same time.
I loved odyssey personally and all the moons in it but the coin grind for getting all the needed moons and costumes for 100% was sooooo loooong. That was my least favorite part of the entire game but I am still glad to have 100% done
I must say that I completely disagree with you about Toadette being one of the best parts of the end game. I feel moons have no value once Toadette is giving you moons for GETTING moons. And there is no way to skip through all of the moon jingles! The moon rocks had great potential; they could of ramped up the difficulty sooooooooooo much! But instead, it was mostly busy work. They even SHOW you where the moons are on the map, which ruins the part of mario oddesy about EXPLORING.
The main game moons were there for you to get to explore and know each kingdom, especially the easy ones. But once you get to know it there isnt really a point of exploring it again, it would not be fun or enjoyable. The endgame moons are more supposed to be a challenge to collect rather than a chore to find. I really think its better to have that nostalgic feeling of: "Hey, Ive been there!" rather than "Oh, so here it is...", you know what I mean?
Somebody who likes the achievement list. :> I don't care if the achievement is for something you already have to do, that the game acknowledges I'm doing it is much appreciated~
@@HanSanwich right? I just got the game a week ago and you get so much stuff with collecting moons. new outfits, new platform passages, even whole new worlds.
@@vent9409 Well once you beat the game, you only need around 500 or so? (probably fact check that) to unlock the final level, and after that your only reward for the otehr 500 or so is.... a hat on top of the castle. That's it.
I was actually sad when I got through the darker side. The sense of discovery in this game brought back a sense of wonder and joy I had not had in a long time. Getting that last moon was bittersweet. It was kind of like I had to return to the normal world after being in Disneyland. Luckily I found A Hat in Time shortly after. 2017 was the best year in games for me it started with Nier and Horizon and just kept piling great things on. Now my backlog is so big it will likely take me all of 2018 to catch up.
100%ing It took me under 100 hours aside the new clothes they brought in from an update. I feel like it's maybe too short comparing to other games like botw which it's taking me over 200 and I still need to find all shrines
@@AnthonyBC93 ya sorry no, first, I'm 21. 2nd, 60 dollars for that short of a game I find it disapointing and sure back then had way less hours but the thing is that there are other games that offer much more hours for the same price (botw ahem) as much fun as it is, the moons become pure filler as the worlds are pretty small. Even indie games do better than this (hour/dollar) I 100%ed it in under 100 hours so that says something. I played games that cost 5 dollars (major Discount) that I had fun to the very end for 50 hours Hey can't change my opinion sorry, I got valid reasons too. If it was in the 1990s then it would be amazing you're right. Except it would be out of context
I just got my 999th moon last night, can wholeheartedly say it's my favourite mario game and definitely up there with one of my favourite games ever. Really felt like they gave it their all with this one
At first I didn’t feel this way but before watching this, this year I finally realized what is the meaning of getting all the moons is about finishing the story/game u loved playing and watching I’m glad you feel the same way
I really loved Odyssey, but I think the cube moons were a big missed opportunity. There were a few challenging ones, but most of them were on the same caliber of difficulty as the normal game's moons. This is especially true because they're already all marked out on your map. I'm okay with Nintendo making the main game easy for the kids, but I feel like end-game content like this should be more of a challenge. To get to this point, you must already be good enough to beat the final level/bowser, so why not make the new moons at least that difficult? Even if some people struggle here, it's not like you'd miss out on much by not getting all the moons. And I have to totally disagree about the toadette achievements. That was probably the most blatant padding in the whole game. If you plan on 100%ing the game (like I was), then you'd be doing all of those achievements anyway. And if you're not planning on 100%ing, then why would you even care about getting those things listed? Most of them I had already achieved by that point in the game without even knowing it. And then the icing on the cake is that you have to talk to toadette for each and every one-it's just a big waste of time.
Gosh yes I’ve gotten almost every single moon and I just have to talk to toadette and pick up the last 40 stars but I’ve gotten them all. Toadette’s achievements were definitely a good reward because I got extra stars for playing the rest of the game and completing everything else like the purple coins. Heck you get extra stars for jumping and throwing Cappy.
It was insanely addictive, I've already 100 percented my first file and I wanted to play more after I'd finished, so I started a second file which I'm already 200 moons into!
That last Bound Bowl ALMOST broke my spirit. What made me give up were the jump rope and volleyball 100-point challenges, the "KEEP" hint art, and the "ring of pillars" hint art.
Well, it’s been 2 years and I finally 100%ish the game! I loved almost every second of playing, and that ending almost brought me to tears... we need odyssey 2, there are so many places on the map that i just didn’t realize were there that we could explore!!!!
Once you learn the advance moveset I thought that the game became easier, before you had to carefully jump on a platform, wait for it to move, hit the enemy on the other side and jump to safety. Now it is just, long jump throw hat dive, Look you got to the other side! Still an awesome game and it's a problem that seems hard to fix
Onlime If you want a challenge: Do the challenges without Captures. There's one with a Frog where you jump over big gaps and waves of poison. Try doing it without the Frog.
Problem!? Wtf it's the opposite, it's a reward for learning the moveset. It's a pro. Even Dunkey listed this specifically as a good thing in his review. Baffles me how someone would call that a problem.
I can't stand how cute this idea is of what you do with puppetry your videos. I'm legitimately a fan now of all your videos. And I'm really picky and I really want a plushie of you! Lol
For some reason I found myself getting really into the timed trials, like bound bowl. I kept wanting to just get a LITTLE faster, by the time I called it quits I think I was in the top 5000, which may not seem like that big a deal, but I'm proud of it.
Isle Delfino DLC - adds Isle Delfino. You need 999 moons to get there, and it has the 1,000th moon. Once you collect the 1,000th moon, you get a copy of Super Mario Sunshine that you can run in a hidden GameCube Virtual Console.
At this point the game has been out for a few months but I agree with minelol5, everyone was insanely bad about spoilers on the first day. In fact I stayed up all night just to beat the story because I _knew_ that UA-cam would recommend me videos about the final boss and ending with spoilers in the thumbnail. Worst way to play the game by the way, so much better when you take your time to soak in the atmosphere. I honestly don't understand the people who say "you shouldn't have clicked on the video if you didn't want spoilers" Dude! The freaking thumbnail showed ***** and **** I was spoiled the moment the video popped up! I only clicked on the video to complain about the thumbnail! Had to unsubscribe from multiple gaming/movie/show news channels because they didn't understand the concept of "Spoilers in the Thumbnail & Title" If there was a spoiler or leak they'd make a video with the thumbnail & title going into detail which are the first 2 things I look at before clicking on a video. Only way to stop the cycle was to unsubscribe no matter how much I enjoyed their content.
But when i do that, like with sonic forces, youtube decides to **** around with me and put those videos in my recommended section, which you cant remove, youtubes like "oh, your search history tells me you watched 2 trailers for *insert game here* two months ago, now its out, here, have some videos about that new installment!" lets go back to my sonic forces situation, i bought the ps4 game, went back, put the disc in, got spoiled the moment i opened google chrome by reccomended videos, including all the reviews saying it sucks. "................"
Luigi's Balloon challenges to me was the best addition to the end game. Which calling it the best is a HUGE compliment, as all the stuff you mentioned is also fantastic.
Huh, I thought the lacking endgame was actually one of the worst things about it, I loved the main game but it was rather short, when I got to the end it felt like it should've been twice as long, but I didn't really mind cuz I figured the second half of the game would be the post game, but it wasn't, you got one extra world with Peach's kingdom and 2 bonus-challenge worlds with the dark and darker sides of the moon but those didn't really interest me so it was pretty much just that one world, and exploring all the worlds again when I had already done that once felt boring, I wanted new worlds to explore, Galaxy 2 still has my favourite postgame easily even though that's also re-exploring old worlds, but that's cuz the game at large is of a more straightforward nature, so when the postgame added in a bunch of exploration which was missing from the main game I was stoked, but in Oddesy I already had my fill of exploring each world once, exploring them all again just felt like busy work, overall this is still my favourite 3D Mario game but it's definitely too short and either needed a longer main game, a longer post game, or both. Or it could've just costed 40 bucks instead of 60, then I wouldn't have minded the shorter length.
i love the game, but haven’t gone back to really begin the endgame because of something you bring up toward the end of the video; it’s hard to put down. between having just finished my first playthrough of BotW, going through it again on Master Mode, playing Persona 5, and also having Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on standby, i know that once i really dig into completing Odyssey, i will not want to stop, so i’m trying to wait until some of my more lengthy gaming obligations are finished (BotW not counting because that’s a game i can always pick up for small periods of time now) to really dedicate the time necessary to enjoying Odyssey’s endgame.
I have to disagree on the strongest terms. The rewards you get, 2 bonus kingdoms, costumes galore, a boss rush, and a final hard Mario level, are much more worth it than having to play the game again.
I get what you’re saying about the value of getting moons, but it feels like Nintendo ran out of things Mario had to do for a moon and just said “Just stick them on a platform or something” It was tons of fun, but not even Nintendo can find 1000 unique and fun little challenges for the player to take on. And it got tedious doing the same thing in every kingdom for an extra moon or two. A prime example is the koopa foot races. But I found it more fun to completely forget about collecting moons and just moving through the levels aimlessly in search for purple coins that might be in that place I was already at 4 times already. When I hit a wall, I wanna find a way to jump it. When I see a gap between two places, I try to cross it. Simply moving in this game is exciting to me. As a result, I’ve only gotten about 600 moons in the month that I’ve been playing it religiously. In summary, there’s too many moons and not enough Pauline dialogue. Goofing off is just as fun as finding the good moons
8:01 „there is no grinding here“ ...wat? Some of the achievement moons are literally „jump X number of times“ or „collect X number of coins“. I mean yes some of those you‘ll get naturally by just playing the game but I‘d say some do require quite a bit of grinding to get!
When I got to the Mushroom Kingdom and saw the desert, mountains and fields out in the distance I couldn’t help but get the same feeling I got when I first started playing Breath of the Wild. Kinda made me wish all of that unseen part of Mario’s world was explorable.
In a word yes. I was depressed when it really was all over in the end :( getting the hat atop the castle is a nod saying the game is finally beat. Tbh I enjoy trying to climb difficult walls in the game as well. The way mario handles is so enjoyable that I would spend a good number of hours just scaling walls lol
What I liked specifically about the post game of Odyssey is how relaxed it was. Peach is going on a trip around the world and you can follow her if you want collecting a good handful of the new moons as you pass by. All the citizens of the different lands going around on their own vacation having fun and just enjoying the sites... it's truly a remarkable experience.
Too many of the moons felt like korok seeds plus mushroom kingdom should of been the first world considering most of the over world is easy and the only extra rooms are doing boss battles over again
Im definitely not a completionist when it comes to games by a long shot, so I'm usually fine with finishing a game after it's main campaign. That said, Odyssey was the first game I ever 100% completed and I loved every second of it. What a great game.
Ben Mitchell 55 hours is really long playtime for this kind of game. Thats like 5 times the main story takes to complete (10 hours). Zelda is an Open World Action Adventure and while it might not be an Rpg, playtimewise its definetly up there with Witcher and Skyrim games.
Great video! Has a fellow completionist, the only moon I had trouble with was the jump rope moon! It broke me lol but I discovered a glitch and only used it to get 420
The Mario Odyssey endgame reminded me of one other endgame I ever played. Spiderman 2 for the Playstation 2. They both give you a ton of stuff to do after you finish the story so it feels like you can play it for hours and hours on end after finishing the story. It makes the game worth the money you put out for it, and you still have the joy of playing!
As much as I loved Odyssey, and it’s endgame, I still like I prefer 3D World’s endgame. Both games have 3 new worlds. And while Odyssey does have new content in each kingdom, many of these moons are just lying around or aren’t particularly different that the original moons. If you ignore the “play with all 5 characters” mark, 3D world is great with its new levels, green stars, and stamps. Please don’t misunderstand, I prefer Odyssey as a game. It’s mechanics and structure are bounds more interesting than the linearity of 3D world. However, I believe that, relative to the games they support, 3D world has a better endgame.
I was the exact same about Darker Side. From the lone taunting pipe, the map info suggestions to NOT go in, all them encouraging Mario, and "Long Journey's End", I was like "Hell no." But then Pauline said: "Go, Mario! Jump, Man!" _Fuck._ I'm not ready to die, but I'll be damned if I was gonna disappoint that fine lady.
I'm super late to the party, but another end game element I love is that the residents of each kingdom start travelling to other kingdoms and mingle with each other and it makes the world feel so ALIVE! Even more so than Sunshine IMO.
This may sound wired but I didnt like mario odyssey I liked the road up to endgame but after that it just felt like running around aimlessly trying to find the rest of the moons
@@pikster2155 I couldn't agree more with you on this game. It bored me after you beat bowser getting the rest of the moons. It didn't wow me all that much as a game.
I loved playing this game... until the postgame. Don't get me wrong, I love that there's such a meaty postgame, but I really wish more of it was actually required to beat the game. The requirement to actually unlock every location is so ridiculously low that now that I have most of the moons, far more than enough to unlock Darker Side, playing any more doesn't really feel rewarding. Banjo-Kazooie is basically perfect in this way; you can go for 100% completion by getting all the notes and jiggies, but you actually need ALMOST all of them to reach the end, so the non-completionist can still pick and choose the objectives they don't want to do while still having seen most of the game.

The Arlo Fan Community it's fine, Mario isn't going anywhere lol
Come to us brethren.
i love my switch and ps4 in relatively equal measure THE DISHONORED SERIES FOR SWITCH

TheFinalChapters - Toadette values her time with you.
**coughGalaxy'scometscough**
what you describe is exactly what "good" achievements should be.
Jarin Reiswig 100% agree
I just 100% the because i wanred and im a completionist so i cant do anything bout it
Honestly for me the funniest part wasn't to collect a moon in itself.
@@inasznee But... You are rewarded with a new level when you get 520 moon... So why are you complaining about that when they give it to you ?
Maybe I'm insane, but I wanted more. Specifically, something between Mushroom Kingdom and Dark Side.
The difficulty spike there was insane, most of the bosses in the Mushroom Kingdom were as difficult as the FIRST Broodal.

Dude, you deserve more subscribers! This video was really, really good!!
Wilfred Cthulu darker side was awesome to me but very frustrating lol
Wilfred Cthulu The jump rope wasn't too bad in my opinion.
Jump rope is solved by the Talkatoo glitch
Wilfred Cthulu just alternate between B and A quickly when it gets to top speed. If you think the Jump Ropeing is bad, the 💯 spikes in the volleyball minigame is particularly annoying to me since it requires me to be faster than Mario usually is... Trying to get the moon with the 2 player mode is your best bet, at least in my opinion.
Didn't expect DDR Mario Mix to be mentioned, but I loved that reference! It's a pretty fun Mario spinoff in my opinion.

my biggest issue with Odyssey...... not enough Luigi. There is never enough Luigi.
Sasqmo who's Luigi?

I just got back odyssey after lending it to a friend for over two years. I have nearly 500 moons on my main account but instead of continuing that save file I decided to restart the game on a second account and will try to beat it before All stars 3D comes out. This game is just so amazing!!
If you didn't know yet you can create 5 save files in one account, if you want to go back to an old save file just press options, data management, load, and select whatever you want! Just an fyi
"Up next on UA-cam, Joesph Anderson's 2 hour long video essay about all the bad moons in Mario Odyssey!"
Bit of an odd choice there, UA-cam.
_...Endgame!?_ Aw, man, I don't even have a switch yet, forget having beaten Odyssey already, and I don't want spoilers..."
...I watched the video anyway, and I hate myself and love the video at the same time.
1:56 I’ve gotten so used to the Zelda BotW climbing mechanics, so when I saw that, I just though “Wait, how can Cat Mario do that!?”
I loved odyssey personally and all the moons in it but the coin grind for getting all the needed moons and costumes for 100% was sooooo loooong. That was my least favorite part of the entire game but I am still glad to have 100% done
How long did it took you? It took me 100 hours
I’m just not looking at the map lol

I honestly don't even consider it to be end-game when the "main game: is so short. Any end-game can be massive if the story is shortened so much.
Thunder64 I can agree. The main game takes around 10-15 hours so yeah
100%ing It took me under 100 hours aside the new clothes they brought in from an update. I feel like it's maybe too short comparing to other games like botw which it's taking me over 200 and I still need to find all shrines
@@Slayer-zv9ho
10-15 hours is short?
@@AnthonyBC93 ya sorry no, first, I'm 21. 2nd, 60 dollars for that short of a game I find it disapointing and sure back then had way less hours but the thing is that there are other games that offer much more hours for the same price (botw ahem) as much fun as it is, the moons become pure filler as the worlds are pretty small. Even indie games do better than this (hour/dollar) I 100%ed it in under 100 hours so that says something. I played games that cost 5 dollars (major Discount) that I had fun to the very end for 50 hours

At first I didn’t feel this way but before watching this, this year I finally realized what is the meaning of getting all the moons is about finishing the story/game u loved playing and watching I’m glad you feel the same way
The post game fan service was incredible. So many great moves by Nintendo!
This is one of my favorite Arlo videos.
He just sounds so happy!
I never thought that I’d watch Cookie Monster talking about Super Mario Odyssey but ok
that’s clearly grover
Mario Odyssey became my favorite game of all the time. I've already decided to 100% it again
Given the rabbits, my go-to Dark Side joke was "Run, rabbit, run. Dig that hole, forget the sun."
And literally the tower is a giant carrot.
Well, it’s been 2 years and I finally 100%ish the game! I loved almost every second of playing, and that ending almost brought me to tears... we need odyssey 2, there are so many places on the map that i just didn’t realize were there that we could explore!!!!
Each time I return to Odyssey, somehow I get to find a ton of moons and I love Balloon world so much I can't stop playing Odyssey.
Onlime It’s not a problem. It’s more like a reward for being skillful.
Lol

I feel this video encapsulates everything that Joseph Anderson missed in his video.
What video?
Salty Shunk Oh yeah, the pessimistic reviewer who dissed Odyssey just for the sake of it.
It just talks about completely different stuff. Both videos can be true at the same time, honestly.
For some reason I found myself getting really into the timed trials, like bound bowl. I kept wanting to just get a LITTLE faster, by the time I called it quits I think I was in the top 5000, which may not seem like that big a deal, but I'm proud of it.
Getting moons in oddessy for me feel like a chore tho
Isle Delfino DLC - adds Isle Delfino. You need 999 moons to get there, and it has the 1,000th moon. Once you collect the 1,000th moon, you get a copy of Super Mario Sunshine that you can run in a hidden GameCube Virtual Console.
Bad part is, the 1,000th moon is a reward for beating a recreation of the pinball machine level.
Whoa Arlo that thumbnail is a huge spoiler!
well, i knew about it on day one because everyone couldnt keep everything out of THEIR ****ING THUMBNAILS
I honestly don't understand the people who say "you shouldn't have clicked on the video if you didn't want spoilers"
Dude!
The award for getting all the moons in Odyssey is arguably a worse reward than getting all the stars in Galaxy
Galaxy's reward was the best tho. A full new character. Sunshine gave you a worthless card while 64 gave you a sparkly triple jump and 100 lives.
The Rape Face No, I’m talking about when you get all the stars again as Luigi
My name Jeff Oh. I see that.
How dare you insult Luigi. He's great for when you want to play the game again eventually.
I have to disagree on the strongest terms. The rewards you get, 2 bonus kingdoms, costumes galore, a boss rush, and a final hard Mario level, are much more worth it than having to play the game again.
I get what you’re saying about the value of getting moons, but it feels like Nintendo ran out of things Mario had to do for a moon and just said “Just stick them on a platform or something”
It was tons of fun, but not even Nintendo can find 1000 unique and fun little challenges for the player to take on.
Getting all the costumes also required grinding. I had to spend 3+ hours on the Iceland special level collecting coins get them all. It was annoying.
Yep! That 9999 coin skeleton costume took me quite a bit of grinding to afford. Wasn‘t really worth it now that I think about it haha
Good thing Balloon World exists now
When I got to the Mushroom Kingdom and saw the desert, mountains and fields out in the distance I couldn’t help but get the same feeling I got when I first started playing Breath of the Wild.
All the citizens of the different lands going around on their own vacation having fun and just enjoying the sites... it's truly a remarkable experience.
my body is ready
Two of the three postgame kingdoms being the moon was unbelievably disappointing. Killed the whole postgame for me.
As much as I loved this game, I only have 55 hours in it. I liked Zelda more, and got about 450 hours out of it.
Ben Mitchell 55 hours is really long playtime for this kind of game. Thats like 5 times the main story takes to complete (10 hours). Zelda is an Open World Action Adventure and while it might not be an Rpg, playtimewise its definetly up there with Witcher and Skyrim games.
Nah, you can't really compare them. And both of them are amazing.
Phoenix Except for that there is way more to do in Skyrim than in BOTW
so I wouldn't say that they are comparable time wise.
Axel I managed over a 1000 hours in botw, and 500 in Skyrim. But yes there are more extra things in Skyrim.
Alex Stilgoe How the hell did you manage to get 1000 hours in botw?
Did you leave the game running when you did other stuff?

Great video! Has a fellow completionist, the only moon I had trouble with was the jump rope moon! It broke me lol but I discovered a glitch and only used it to get 420
Butternut squash? Yeah, sure.
From the lone taunting pipe, the map info suggestions to NOT go in, all them encouraging Mario, and "Long Journey's End", I was like "Hell no."
But then Pauline said: "Go, Mario! Jump, Man!"
_Fuck._
I'm not ready to die, but I'll be damned if I was gonna disappoint that fine lady.
Odyssey endgame? Yes please!
I don't like odyssey that much. To me the worlds are so bland. The moons feel lile korok seeds and i don't lole that
@@blueshellpunk same I felt like the post game was extremly boring and repetive
