Would you all like a series of videos like this? =D Lemme know!! Also don't forget to purchase your 'Wee Scottish Lad' or 'Wee Scottish Lass' T shirts at Redbubble! Or a 'Haste Ye Back' T shirt =D Thanks for being awesome mah wee Lads an' Lassies!
As an American, the 'ae' replacing 'n't' and 'o' at the end of words is quite my favorite Scottish-ism, specifically in the context of Twitter when folks write/spell in this way. Not sure why, but it allows me to hear the words in accent in my head as I read them. All other English language texts are read in my own boring inner monologue voice. God bless you Scottish Twitter. And Scots in general.
except this is nae accent, this is a language. This is Scots. One of the three spoken languages in Scotland. Scottish English (that's the accent) Scottish Gaelic & Scots.
This is the best video I have ever seen about speaking Scottish. Believe me, I've been living in Scotland for more than one year, and I've been trying to find anything and everything to help me understand Scotts, because I'm FAE Poland.
You're awesome! I'm italian and i'm going to study in Scotland next year! I'm a little worried i won't be able to understand the accent. Anyway, I'm already in love with your country and i'm checking all your videos to learn all about it!
Killian Jones YEY Oh you're going to love it! I think you'll be fine with the accent if you watch plenty of Scottish UA-camrs, movies and tv shows etc! thanks so much for watching my vids!!!
Someone probably already asked this but I'm curious whether the spelling is the same as standard English spelling despite the massive variation and pronunciation
It seems slightly easier to learn Scottish language verbally than its written because it makes your head turn lol. But, I always wanted to go to Scotland to see what everything is because its really underrated wonderful place.
Love it! At the end of my books, I include a notes section. The last book I made sure to add things like "How to pronounce Cockburn Street & Edinburgh" as well as how "yous" isn't a grammatical error, and what the character Alfie means when he says things like "wisnae well happy", "sesh", "mibbe", and "gawn". hahahaha
Fun video and nice shirt! I'm impressed that you're approaching 20,000. Although you have amusing content, I bet that it is your personality that makes everyone enjoy your company.
GREAT video Mosco! I'm (trying to-be) an actor from USA and my resume of accents consists of Indian Cuban Irish and Scottish... I drill each day... so an authentic Scottswoman such as yourself.. I feel so lucky... thank you this helps..... oh crap me bacon is burning gotta go 😂

in USN, 10 day ship inspection/training in Holy Loch. when our team flew back to the USA, i was sairved a gen'rous bit of a culture shock seemed to be a local humor about stationed navy folk. my wife thought i'd gone nuts. we took a trip through southern Virginia. just drive 50 miles from a metro area: country folk talk like refugees from 18th century Scotland, here. the dialect is called "Tidewater". you have a new sub, luv.
Well, there's different dialects of Scots so everyone speaks it differently. I am from Glasgow and we talk it slightly differently than this lady. We don't say ken for example.

I am in the US and really want to nail the scott’s accent.
i have some scottish characters in my books (one of them appears constantly) and when i'm reading it i always make my own accent (messed up standard usa accent) for all the characters i wanted to give my few scottish characters the accent they deserved, but after this video i see it's only for greater human beings, out of my tongue's capability thank you for the video anyway, i loved it 💙🤍
